"You're coming to Forks?"
Barely more than a squeak. All angst temporarily forgotten.
"Not Forks. Just you. Wherever you are is my home."
The fact I could hear the delicious sound of her heart stutter over the phone sent me to the moon.
"But you said.." Her voice trailed off. Remembering. So did I.
Still trying to swallow the mass in my throat, crash landing from my lunar launch.
"What I said was a lie, Bella."
Silence. Much too long.
Loaded.
She didn't believe me.
And I couldn't even blame her. I had been far too convincing.
