Because of the storm, April must now spend the night at Jackson's.

April arrived at Jackson's aparment building. along with Harriet, just as they enter the building it started to rain very hard. April and Harriet stepped, the elevator stopped at Jackson's floor and the two walked up to his aparment and April knocked on the door and Jackson answered.

Glad you girls are inside before the rain started, Jackson said.

Yeah, but we got there just in time, April said.

Daddy! Harriet said, she ran towards Jackson and jumped into his arms.

Jackson lifted Harriet up. How's my munchkin?

I'm good, she replied.

Good, Jackson said. Come on in, April.

I have to go,

It's raining like out said, Jackson said. Just wait here for a bit.

All right, then, April said.

April walked into Jackson's apparment. She took off her coat and hung it up.

I'm almost done cooking, if you're going to wait here you might as well join us for dinner, Jackson suggested.

Do you have enough for three?

More than enough.

Can I help you with anything?

If you can set the table that would be great, Jackson said.

I'll do that, April said.

April started setting the table. A few minutes later Jackson had finished cooking and the three of them started eating.

It's delicious, April told Jackson.

Thank you, Jackson said.

You like it too Ladybug? April asked her daughter.

Yes, Harriet said while her mouth was still full.

Don't talk with your mouth full Harriet, April said.

Harriet swallowed her food. Sorry.

It's okay, April said.

After dinner, Harriet sat in front of the TV watching some cartoons; Jackson and April had cleared the table.

Would you like a cup of coffee? Jackson asked.

No, thanks I think I should go in a minute, April said.

April the weather hasn't gotten any better, Jackson said.

I think it's actually gotten worse, April said.

Exactly, so have a cup of coffee and stay a while longer, Jackson suggested.

All right, April said.

April joined Harriet on the couch and Jackson went to make coffee.

After a few hours, the weather hadn't gotten any better, it got worse again, it had turned into a storm. April had put Harriet to bed.

She was asleep, April said.

Good, Jackson said.

I'll go then, April said.

April I don't think that's a good idea, Jackson said, he got of the cough and walked over to April.

Jackson I'll be fine, April said.

Jackson grabbed his phone and showed a news message to April. It says it's better if everyone stays inside.

Taxi's aren't driving anymore now because of the storm.

And I can't take you home either.

You really don't mind if I stay here.

Of course I don't mind.

Okay, then I'll stay in your guest room, April said.

One little thing I kind of turned my guest room into a personal gym, Jackson said. Sorry, but with Covid I couldn't go to the gym.

I'll just stay on the couch then, April said.

You take my bed, I'll sleep on the couch, Jackson said.

Jackson, I'm not going to take your bed, just give me a pillow and a blanket and I'll sleep on the couch, April said.

We can just sleep together in my bed, Jackson said.

Yeah, that's not gonna happen, April said.

I didn't mean it like that, Jackson told her. We're two grown ups. We can share a bed without intention.

I don't know, April said.

You are afraid you cannot resist me, Jackson said.

What?

You can admit it, Jackson said with a big teasing smile on his face.

I can resist you, April said.

Jackson took a step closer to April. As I recall, you were the one who started it all in that San Francisco hotel.

And last time it was you who started it, April told him.

Come on April, we can do this, Jackson said.

Okay, April said.

A few hours later, April and Jackson went to bed. Jackson had given April a t-shirt of his so she would have something to sleep in.

Good night, April said.

Night, Jackson said.

The lights went out and Jackson and April went to sleep.

The next day, Jackson and April woke up at the same time and they saw that they were lying against each other.

April moved away from Jackson. Sorry.

It's okay, Jackson said, he looked at her with again a teasing smile. I knew it.

What did you knew? April asked.

That you couldn't resist me, he teased.

or are you the one who can't resist me, April said.

Jackson and April heads were close together, both lent forward, their lips almost touching, but the moment was interrupted by the door opening and Harriet coming running into the room, she jumped on the bed and sat down between Jackson and April.

Mommy, Daddy,

Hi Ladybug,

Did you sleep well my Munchkin?

Yes, Harriet said.

Let's have breakfast, Jackson said.

Let me take care of breakfast, it's the least I could do, April said.

April got up, she walked out of the room and went to make breakfast. And half an hour later Jackson, April and Harriet were sitting for breakfast.

After breakfast, April had changed her clothes and was about to leave.

Thanks for letting me stay here the night, April said.

No problem, Jackson said.

Harriet have fun with Daddy, April said.

Bye Mommy, Harriet said as she waved at April.

April quickly gave Jackson a kiss on his and then left his apartment.
