Day 6

Craig, Wren, Yustice, and Cannonball all happened to be walking together to the Trading Tree this time when they decided to talk about their fun days together.

"So, what do you guys think of what we're doing so far?" Craig asked.

"It's been a lot of fun." Cannonball said.

"It feels like a long term experiment, AND IT'S EXCITING!" Wren answered.

"At first I thought I'd be bored." Yustice commented. "But things got more interesting each day, and now I can't wait to see what else we do. I'm even wondering which two of us will get to plan out the weekend since we'll have more time to spend here then."

"Huh. I never thought of that." Craig said.

Shortly after their talk, they arrived at the Trading Tree and saw something they weren't expecting. Three kids who were not part of the council were in line.

"Well this was eventually going to happen." Cannonball said.

The customers were some fat African boy with glasses, Roger the self-proclaimed troll, and the kid known only as Scooter Girl. Once all three kids got what they wanted, the group went to check up on Kit.

"I see business is coming back." Craig said.

"Other than our fellow council members, they're the only customers I've had recently." Kit explained. "Oh, Bobby said to meet him at the Black Top. I'll catch up with you guys shortly."

"Arigatou." Yustice said, earning some confused looks. "That means thank you in Japanese."

So the four kids left for the playground that they called the Black Top. Along the way, they met up with most of the other council members.

"Is Kit coming?" Eileen asked.

"She got a little held up, but yes." Craig explained. "A couple of kids are all better now."

"I figured." Paintball Mike said. "I saw the Timekeeper earlier."

"At least we don't have to keep track anymore." Jason said.

Soon enough, they reached the Black Top which was apparently covered with some kind of chalk drawing for some reason.

"Oh good. you made it." Bobby said as he ran to the group. "Is everyone here?"

"Almost." Junklord said.

"Wait!" The kids turned and saw Kit running to them and then catching her breath. "Sorry I'm late. I had some things to take care of."

"Now that we're all here, please take a look at the ground." Bobby said.

The others complied and realized that what Bobby drew was a spiral path of several spaces with words in them.

"Is this a board game?" Wildernessa asked.

"Why yes it is." Bobby explained. "I don't have much to offer like you guys, so I improvised. I even got these soft giant dice."

He pulled out two pillow-like blue dice the size of a six year old's head and told the rules.

"We all start at the outside end of the game and take turns rolling the dice. Whatever the space you land on says, you do it. But if it's not the space you rolled to, it doesn't count. And of course, the first one to the middle wins. Is that okay?"

"Okay? Bobby, this is awesome!" Craig said.

"This actually looks like fun." Eliza admitted.

"I didn't know you could come up with this." Paintball Mike said.

Everyone complimented Bobby's fun idea before heading to the start space. Bobby stayed in place for a moment after all that praise, then joined the others. Cheesesticks had to wait near the jungle gym while they played.

After deciding the turn order with some dice rolls, Paintball Mike went first. He rolled a six and went that many spaces. He looked down and read the space.

"Next turn you may re-roll the lower die. Nice."

Wren went next and rolled a seven. When she passed Paintball Mike, she read her space.

"Lucky you. Move to the space on your right."

"What!?" Paintball Mike whined.

After Wren happily moved to space twenty-six, Wildernessa took her turn. She only moved three spaces.

"Move to the nearest player ahead of you."

Wildernessa was now next to Paintball Mike. Cannonball rolled the dice and got a nine. He got to that space and read "Almost a perfect ten. Go ahead and move one more space."

"Oh come on!" Paintball Mike whined again. "Everyone else gets to move ahead instantly."

"The game just started." Bobby said.

Jason rolled the dice and moved five spaces.

"Your next roll is doubled. Ooh, I hope I roll a twelve!"

The Junklord took his turn and rolled a five as well, getting the same reward obviously. Then Yustice rolled and got a three. That space allowed her to move to the nearest players ahead which were Jason and the Junklord. Bobby rolled a six and joined Paintball Mike and Wildernessa. Kit then took the dice and rolled a ten.

"Add three to your next roll." her space said.

Eliza rolled next and got a three, which allowed her move ahead and join Jason, Yustice, and the Junklord(Though she stood outside the space to avoid getting too dirty). Eileen threw the dice high in the air and ended up with a nine. Knowing what that space said, she went ahead one more and joined Kit and Cannonball. Finally it was Craig's turn. He rolled the dice as best as he could, but got a measly two. Then he read the space.

"Join whoever is in the lead."

Craig was now with Wren on the twenty-sixth space. Good thing Paintball Mike could roll again now, because he was frustrated by all of the better outcomes. He took his turn and rolled a ten. He got greedy and rolled the four die. His four became a two, totaling eight.

"Darn it." Paintball Mike moved to the fourteenth space which read "Pull another player back five spaces."

"I pick... Wren."

"Ah nuts." Wren moved back five spaces to twenty one.

She then took her turn and rolled a nine. The thirtieth space on which she landed read "Go back three spaces."

"Talk about an equal and opposite reaction." Wren said before going back to twenty seven.

Wildernessa took her turn again and rolled an eight. She ended up where Paintball Mike was again.

"Sorry, Wren." she made Wren go back five spaces as well, placing her on twenty two.

Cannonball rolled again and got an eleven.

"Sweet." he moved all the way to the twenty-first space.

"Bring one player in last place to your place."

Cannonball had four kids to choose from. Jason, Eliza, Yustice, and the Junklord. He thought about it, then picked one.

"Eliza."

"Really?" Eliza asked.

"Sure. Come on."

Eliza moved up to where Cannonball was(This time they shared the space). Jason then rolled and got a nine.

"Thanks to this space, I get to move eighteen instead." he bragged before moving to the twenty-third space. "Switch two players besides yourself."

Jason randomly picked the first two names he thought of.

"Cannonball, switch with Paintball Mike."

The two chosen kids swapped places. Junklord went again and rolled a ten.

"Yes! That makes it twenty!" Junklord moved to the twenty-fifth space, the halfway point.

"Now that you're halfway there, your next roll will be cut in half. What!?"

Some of the kids laughed at his expense. Yustice rolled after a few chuckles and got a six, moving her to the eleventh space since she didn't originally land on the five.

"Roll twice and combine both results next turn. Alright!"

Bobby got his second roll and ended up with an eight. Just like Paintball Mike, he re-rolled his lower die, only his two became a three, giving him a nine. He then moved to the fifteenth space.

"Switch places with the nearest player ahead of your choice."

The nearest was a tie between Eliza and Paintball Mike. After going eenie-meenie-miney-mo, he made his choice.

"I pick Paintball Mike."

"Awe man!" Paintball Mike switched with Bobby, putting the former on fifteen and the latter on twenty one.

"My turn." Kit threw the dice and rolled a four.

Thanks to her bonus three, she went seven spaces to the seventeenth.

"Pick odds or evens, then roll. If you get it right, move ahead three spaces."

"I choose... evens." Kit rolled again and got a six. "Yes!"

She moved to the twentieth space. Eliza rolled the dice with much enthusiasm and got a four. She moved to the twenty-fifth space miserably, knowing that she had to cut her next roll in half. Eileen rolled happily, ending up with a five which added with her extra three made eight. She walked to the eighteenth space.

"Everybody moves ahead one space."

All twelve kids did what the space said. Craig rolled the dice and got a two again.

"That's twice in a row." he said.

Craig moved to the twenty-ninth space.

"Only roll one of the dice next turn."

Craig mumbled at his sort of bad luck. Paintball Mike rolled and got a six. He marched all the way to the twenty-second space.

"Move ahead five." and so he did.

Wren took her turn again and rolled a three. She returned to the twenty sixth space and read it.

"Give another player an extra turn. Hmmmmm. I pick... WILDERNESSA!"

Wildernessa was glad since it was now her turn. Her first roll was a ten, moving her to the twenty-fifth space.

"Uhhh, Bobby?" she was confused.

"Your turn's not over, so it doesn't count." Bobby explained.

"What!? No fair!" Junklord complained.

"Let him decide the rules!" Eileen said.

Wildernessa then took her extra turn and rolled a twelve, moving her to the thirty-seventh space.

"Miss your next turn. Well that sucks." she pulled out a rubber ball and started playing fetch with Cheesesticks to pass the time.

Cannonball took his turn and rolled a three, putting him on the eighteenth space which made them all move one space again. Jason rolled the dice and got an eight, which brought him to the thirty-third space.

"Add your most recent roll to the player in last place."

Yustice was happy to hear that. Junklord miserably rolled the dice and got a twelve which was reduced to six. He walked over to the thirty-third
space, joining Jason and giving Yustice an extra twelve. Yustice got to roll twice thanks to her last turn and got two and three which only added to
five. However thanks to Jason and Junklord, she was able to move a total of twenty-five spaces, placing her on thirty-eight with Wildernessa.

"Pick another player to roll twice and combine both results next turn."

"I choose... Cannonball." Yustice said.

Bobby rolled the dice once more and got a six, placing him on the twenty-ninth space, which makes him roll a single die next turn like Craig. Kit took her next turn and rolled an eight. She moved to the thirtieth space, but had to move back three. Eliza then took her turn and rolled a ten. However her roll was cut in half which only took her to the thirty-second space.

"Bring another player forth five spaces."

"Cannonboy."

Cannonball went forth five spaces and stood on space twenty-four. Eileen rolled the dice harder than before and got another eight, sending her to the twenty-eighth space.

"Choose odds or evens, then roll. If you get it wrong, go back three spaces."

"I'll go with... evens." she rolled again and got a pair of twos. "Yes! Safe!"

"Let's get this turn over with." Craig rolled only one of the dice this time and only got a three.

He joined Jason and the Junklord on the thirty-third space which gave the new last place player, Paintball Mike an extra three for his next turn. Paintball Mike rolled for the fourth time and the dice read six. That plus three gave nine. He moved to the thirty-second space and like Eliza who was with him, made Cannonball move five spaces. Wren took her turn and rolled a seven, ending up on thirty-four.

"Go back to the nearest player behind you." Luckily for her, that was Craig, Jason, and the Junklord who were all just one space behind.

"It's starting to get crowded here." Jason commented.

Since Wildernessa lost a turn, Cannonball rolled the dice and got a ten, then a five thanks to Yustice. He then went fifteen spaces to forty-four.

"Switch with the player in last place. Dang."

He traded Kit his forty-four for her twenty-seven.

"Yes. Almost there." Kit said.

Jason rolled and ended up with a five, sending himself to thirty-eight where Wildernessa and Yustice were. As with Yustice, he chose Cannonball to roll twice and combine. Then the Junklord rolled, got an eight, and moved to space forty-one.

"Join whoever is in last!? Are you kidding me!?"

He grumpily marched all the way back to space twenty-seven where Cannonball stood. Yustice rolled and got a twelve.

"Gasp!" she ran ninja style all the way to space fifty in the middle. "Yatta! I win!"

After a few victory jumps, everyone stepped off of the board game and sat down.

"I'm glad everyone liked that." Bobby said. "I know I'm not much like you guys."

"Not much? Not much!?" Paintball Mike cried out. "You made a giant board game in less than a day! You once disguised yourself as Eileen! You had a hand in taking down a champion from the other side! How are you not much!?"

(Most of the kids in the capture the flag war told each other about their part.)

"Paintball Mike's right." Craig said. "You're not as dumb or useless as you think."

"Yes. What you did today alone is most impressive." Eileen added.

For the first time ever, Bobby felt like he was really worth something to everyone.

"Can we play that again?" Kit asked.

So they played again. After a couple more rounds, they all agreed to stop and either made other chalk drawings or played on the swings and other playground stuff. Eventually, the dinner horn was blown.

"Dinner!" Beth the Timekeeper called.

"I guess it's time to spin again." Craig said.

Cannonball, Eliza, Eileen, Jason, and Bobby stood to the side while the remaining seven kids stood in their smallest circle yet.

"Wait." Yustice said. "Now that kids are getting better, won't some of us be busy tomorrow?"

Most of them weren't sure, but Kit said "Actually, I'm short on stock, so I had to close the Trading Tree for a while."

With at least that out of the way, the Junklord voluntarily spun this time and awaited the result. Unlike before, the kids had so much fun that they didn't care who was next. The arrow slowed down, stopped, and pointed at...

Craig.

"Woohoo! I know just the thing for tomorrow!" he cheered.

And so they left the Black Top and waited for whatever would come on the weekend.

Author's Note: I tried not to, but I did it again. I took way too long for a chapter. My only excuse is that I was trying to finish up more chapters to avoid this kind of thing. I'm still stuck on the next chapter of this, but I haven't given up. As I said before, I'm so sorry for the time it took. But now for the character and chapter info. Bobby is an interesting character. At first he was that one character it sucks to be, now look at him. He's not a favorite, but he deserves credit where it's due. It was a little tricky to decide what he'd do on his turn since I could practically come up with anything for him due to his only interest being candy. So I just settled for a giant made up board game because it was the first fun thing I could think of. Most of the rolls they made are actual rolls I used to decide how this would turn out, but I later realized that I made a bunch of mistakes which caused the chapter to be a little longer. The different space actions were just whatever popped into my head, but I did have to rearrange a few for fairness. Not much happened story-wise, but at least Bobby got a chance to feel good. It's a shame that the show's officially over now, but at least I don't have to worry much about any mistakes. I don't know how long Day 7 or the other chapters will take to finish, but I intend to finish what I started no matter how long.

P.S. Here's what all of the spaces would've said in case you're curious.
