Chapter 8: So Brutal/Captured/Island Arrival
John was still driving the cart six minutes later. Alan, Ellie, Ian, Lex, and Tim ran close behind him. Lex and Tim skidded to a halt. They began panting heavily. Alan, Ellie, and Ian stopped themselves. John brought the cart to a stop. They looked toward the children, whom were patting their chests. Alan, Ellie, and Ian went to them.
"Are you kids okay?" Alan asked in much concern.
"Yeah. We're just tired from running for a time," Lex admitted and swallowed hard.
"It can take a lot out of anyone, especially if they are on the run from monsters," Tim added.
"Well, we can't wait too long. Those monsters will catch up to us," Ellie said in a bit of fear.
Ian touched his forehead. "It was wild to see a Putty fall apart when John hit in the chest with his cane."
John placed his hand on his cane. "That was obviously its weak spot. The Putties are tough, but they are not that tough."
Suddenly, a snapping twig came out of nowhere as the children caught their breaths. They and the adults looked around, but they did not see anyone or anything. Their hearts beat quite fast. Their bodies shook so much that it seemed they would not be able to stop.
"We need get out of here now!" Ellie blurted out frantically.
"Then let's go!" John shouted. "Come on!"
Without warning, three Putties grabbed Lex and Tim from behind, causing them to scream. Alan, Ellie, and Ian raced to them, pulling them off. The first Putty attempted to punch Alan, only for him to go under it. He turned around and shoved it into a tree. It hit the tree headfirst, falling flat on its back. It arms and legs spread out eagle style as its head fell to the side. He balled his hands into fist, growling in fierceness.
The second Putty swung its arm at Ellie, missing when she jumped back. She used her foot to shove it away. She grabbed its ankles to pull its feet out from underneath it. The third Putty jumped on her. It started pounding on her with its fists. Ian grabbed a stick with a fierce growl. He hit in the back. He jabbed it in the stomach. He swung it at its feet to knock it off them. He glanced at her, seeing her swallow hard.
"What do these Putties want with us?" Ian asked and shuddered loudly.
"I don't know," Ellie answered. She looked ahead to see five more Putties charging at her and her friend. "We'd better do something before their friends get us!"
He gritted his teeth. "Help me hold this stick!"
Ian moved his hands to one end of the stick as Ellie grabbed the other. They rushed at the Putties. They yelled as if they were maniacs. They knocked them down one by one. They saw another charging Putty. They moved the stick into a spear position and threw it hard. The stick hit it in the forehead and knocked it down. They laughed and clapped three times, only to hear yelling. They spun around to see two Putties pulling John out of the cart. They raced toward him, but three Putties jumped at them from the side.
John pulled himself out of the Putties' grasp. He smacked the first one in its chest with his cane. He observed it falling apart. He moved back as the second Putty attempted to grab him. He swung his cane, smacking it in the cheek. He jabbed the end of it in its chest. It moved backward, its body falling to pieces. He laughed delightfully, but he was silenced when Tigton took hold of him. Alan, Ellie, and Ian tried to go after him, only for five Putties to grab them. Goldar and Scorpina took hold of Lex and Tim. The humans struggled to get free.
"You thought you humans could get away from us? You thought wrong!" Goldar yelled with an evil laugh.
"Let us go, you creeps!" Tim screeched.
"What do you want with us?" Lex demanded fiercely.
"That's for us to know and you to find out!" Scorpina shouted and shrieked in cheerfulness.
"It's time to go!" Tigton announced. "We won't let the door hit our asses on the way out!"
Without warning, six colored beams hit the ground in front of the group. They exploded, causing the villains to lose their grip on the humans. Goldar, Scorpina, and Tigton spotted Jason, Zack, Trini, Billy, Kim, and Tommy standing not far from them. The Red, Black, Yellow, Blue, and Pink Rangers had their Blade Blasters in gun mode. The White Ranger held Saba.
"You are not taking those people anywhere!" Tommy yelled as he and his teammates sheathed their weapons.
"How nice of you to join the party again, Power Rangers!" Goldar yelled in a fierce voice. "You are going to pay for interfering!"
Jason curled his hand into a fist. "Come and get us!"
"We dare you!" Trini added.
Goldar snarled. "Very well. Tigton, Scorpina, let's get the Rangers!"
Goldar, Scorpina, and Tigton broke into a charge, as did the Rangers. Goldar swung his sword at Tommy and Jason, missing when they ducked. They kicked him in the stomach before delivering two punches to his chest. They jumped to do a dropkick to the latter. He went flying backward, crashing into the concrete not far from them. He stood up while shaking his head rapidly.
Goldar heard yelling and looked up to see Tommy and Jason flipping through the air and aiming their feet at his head. He tossed fireballs at them, hitting them and knocking them on their backs. He walked up to them, charging his weapon with lightning. He sent it into his opponents. They cried out in pain. He felt something hit him in his back. He spun around, seeing Alan and Ellie holding sticks in their hands.
"Get away from the Rangers, you bastard!" Alan shouted.
"If you think those sticks can hurt me, you are sorely mistaken!" Goldar retorted.
Ellie hissed. "Hurt this!"
Alan and Ellie swung their sticks at Goldar, who knocked them away with a swing of his hand. He shot energy waves at them, but they missed when they ran out of the way. He ran after them with a snarl, only for Tommy and Jason to ram themselves into him. He stumbled off to the side, barely regaining his footing. They proceeded to fight him.
Alan and Ellie began a run for their lives. Two Putties jumped form the side and took hold of them. The couple kicked them, but it didn't loosen their grip on them. Billy rushed in, kicking the Putties away from them. They garbled in anger and raced for him. He jumped into the air, doing a front flip. He landed gracefully and turned around. They came to a halt and looked toward him. They made a charge at him. He jabbed his elbows into their faces, knocking them on their backs.
Alan and Ellie screamed when Tigton ambushed them and took hold of their shoulders. Billy rushed the tiger's way, only for him to shoot his eye lasers and hit him in the chest. He fell down on his stomach with a loud groan. He began to go toward his knees, but Tigton blew a fireball from his mouth and scored a hit in the shoulder, laughing at his falling down on his side.
"Aw. The Blue Ranger has fallen and can't get up," Tigton taunted with a smirk. "There is no use crying over spilled milk. Blue milk, that is."
Suddenly, Tigton felt his feet being swept out from underneath him in which he lost his grip on the couple. He ended up on his back, an angry growl leaving his mouth. He looked up at Ian, who held a broken broomstick.
"Didn't your mother tell you that you should always watch your back?" Ian asked.
"I could ask the same about you!" Tigton replied.
Suddenly, three Putties grabbed Ian from the side, causing him to drop the broomstick. So did three others with Alan and Ellie. They got out of their grasp and spotted a trashcan. They charged for it. Alan and Ian pulled the top off and tossed it over their shoulders. They lifted it to dump the trash out. They tossed it at the first and second Putties in which they scored hits to their heads.
Ellie rushed to the trashcan, picking it up. She struck the third Putty in the face with it. She put it over the head of the fourth Putty and shoved it. It crashed into fifth and sixth Putties as they charged. They ended up in a heap on the concrete. Their companions let out loud moans. The trio glanced at each other, forming big smiles on their faces.
"Nice job, Ellie," Alan complimented warmly.
"Thanks, Alan," Ellie responded. "You—"
Without warning, Scorpina ambushed Ellie from behind and wrapped her arms around her. Alan and Ian tried to go to her, but Goldar charged and rammed himself into them. This knocked the men down. Goldar grabbed their throats and started to choke them. He felt several objects hit him in the back. He looked over his shoulder to see John, Lex, and Tim throwing trash at him. He threw the men to the ground.
"You pathetic old man and kids!" Goldar said, going toward the trio. "You will—"
Just then, Zack rushed in and shoved Goldar into a post. Goldar smacked his head against it, but he recovered in time to punch his charging enemy in the face. Zack stumbled backward, barely regaining his footing. Goldar walked up to him to backhand him across the face. He grabbed his throat and started to choke him.
Ellie elbowed Scorpina in the stomach, freeing herself. She turned around to grab her ankles and pull her feet out from underneath her. She picked up the broomstick and charged at Goldar. She swung it, smacking him in the face and forcing him to let go of Zack. She was about to attempt another swing when a Putty took hold of her shoulders and tossed her aside. She hit the concrete on her stomach in which she lost her grip on the broomstick.
The Putty was about to go toward Ellie when Kim and Trini flipped through the air and dropkicked it in the chest. It fell down before breaking apart. They landed in a graceful way. Tigton punched them in their backs, knocking them on their knees. He shoved each of them on their sides with his foot. He smacked them in the backs of their heads.
Tigton did not see Tommy coming up behind him with Saba raised high. Scorpina rushed in, ramming herself into him. Tommy collided with a metal bench and flipped over it. He landed on his back with a loud groan. Tigton heard it and glanced at him. He looked over his shoulder to see her standing right behind him. He turned around to face her.
"Thanks," Tigton said gratefully.
"No problem," Scorpina said with a smirk. She heard grunting and saw six Putties grabbing Alan, Ellie, and Ian and forcing them to their feet. "As for you three—"
Without warning, a trashcan hit the scorpion-woman in the face, knocking her on her knees. She looked up to see John, Lex, and Tim standing not far from her. They growled at her.
"You will not hurt my friends like that!" John shouted.
"Let's take out these pieces of trash!" Lex shouted.
Tim nodded rapidly. "Yeah!"
John, Lex, and Tim picked up pieces of trash and threw it at the Putties, nailing them in their heads and forcing them to let go of Alan, Ellie, and Ian. Alan, Ellie, and Ian were about to go toward them when five more Putties grabbed them from behind. Four others did the same with John, Lex, and Tim. The Putties brought their captives together. Goldar, Scorpina, and Tigton walked up to them.
"Good job, Putties!" Goldar said with an evil laugh. "You finally managed to get our targets!"
"It's time to—" Scorpina started.
"No!" six voices shouted.
Goldar and Scorpina spun around to see Tommy, Kim, Jason, Trini, Billy, and Zack running his way. He shot lightning from his fingertips at the ground in front of them. It hit and exploded, throwing them off their feet.
"See you later, Rangers," Goldar said with a soft growl. "We are taking your friends on a little trip!"
Goldar, Scorpina, Tigton, the Putties, and their captives disappeared from view. Tommy looked up and punched the ground in frustration.
"Damn it! I can't believe we lost our new friends!" Tommy yelled as he and the others made it to their feet.
"Lord Zedd wanted them for something. It can't be good at all," Jason mumbled.
"I know," Billy said, his voice showing much fear.
Tommy brought his communicator up to his face. He, his girlfriend, and his friends came to his side.
"Zordon, do you read?" Tommy asked.
"Yes, Tommy. I read you," Zordon answered.
"We've got a huge problem. Lord Zedd sent Goldar, Scorpina, a new monster named Tigton, and the Putties to capture several people we just met. Their names are John Hammond, Lex Murphy, Tim Murphy, Ian Malcom, Alan Grant, and Ellie Sattler," Tommy explained frantically.
Kim balled her hand into a fist. "He must have some kind of plan for them. We're not sure what it could be."
"I want all of you Rangers to teleport to the Command Center immediately. We must locate those people and find out what Lord Zedd is up to," Zordon said seriously.
Tommy nodded. "We're on our way, Zordon. Tommy out."
Tommy lowered his communicator and shot a glance at his teammates. They took deep breaths to calm themselves.
"I hope we can find out what Lord Zedd has in mind for these people," Trini mumbled.
"Me too. Unfortunately, standing around won't accomplish that," Zack replied.
Billy exhaled sharply. "Yeah. We better go."
The Rangers teleported to the Command Center. The wind started to pick up as clouds rolled in from all directions.

A Utahraptor wandered through the rainforest on Isla Nublar. It sniffed the air and came to a stop. It clicked its talons on the ground. It looked around, a purr rumbling in its throat. It caught a scent and growled excitedly. It broke into a fast walk, coming upon a dead subadult Triceratops laying on its side. It stopped itself not far from it. The carcass had been fed on in a few places. There were even teeth marks on the horns.
The Utahraptor snorted while walking up to the carcass. It sniffed the stomach before clamping its jaws around a part. It moved its head from side to side roughly before tearing a big piece off. It pulled the piece into its mouth, swallowing quickly. It grabbed another part, jerking its head to the side to tear away. It swallowed with a loud gulp. It licked its snout, which was covered in some blood.
Suddenly, Goldar, Scorpina, Tigton, the Putties, and their captives appeared not far from the Utahraptor. It looked up at them, its nostrils flaring. It growled in annoyance before going back to feeding. John, Alan, Ellie, Ian, Lex, and Tim gasped horrifyingly as they realized where they were. They struggled against the grip of the Putties. Goldar cackled with a shake of his head.
"You brought us to Isla Nublar!" John screeched angrily.
"That is right, John Hammond," Goldar said, going to the front of the group along with Tigton and Scorpina. "As you once said, welcome to Jurassic Park."
"How did you—" Lex started.
"We've known about the failure of Jurassic Park for a very long time, Lex Murphy," Scorpina said, a smirk forming on her face. "Rita saw your grandfather talking about it to your brother and friends during your Christmas vacation in Orlando. She found it very interesting."
"We never thought humans could bring prehistoric creatures back to life, but your scientists managed to succeed with cloning," Goldar said in great awe.
"You humans may be very intelligent, but you are also very naive. You could not clone the instinct from the animals themselves. You never had control over them at all," Tigton commented proudly.
"Squatt got the idea for us to kidnap you and bring you here as bait to trap the Power Rangers," Scorpina added.
"Oh, shit!" Ellie screamed fearfully.
"Watch the language, Dr. Sattler," Scorpina snapped as she pointed her sword at her. "Children are present, you know."
"We do not give a damn about that right now. You are holding us prisoner on this godforsaken island!" Ian retorted in an irritated voice.
"We can't wait for the Power Rangers to come and rescue you!" Goldar said and glanced toward three trees. "Putties, take the prisoners over to the trees and tie them up!"
Goldar waved his hand, causing ropes to appear in the hands of the Putties. The Putties dragged the prisoners over to the trees. John and Ian were taken to the first tree, Alan and Ellie to the second, and Lex and Tim to the third. The humans grunted while being forced to sit down. The Putties wrapped the ropes around them as they circled the trees three times. They tied the ropes in front of them. They went over to Goldar's side.
"I hope you humans will be happy sitting around for a while!" Goldar joked with a snicker.
"Ha, ha, ha, ha. That was so funny that we forgot to laugh," Alan snapped sarcastically.
"Nice use of sarcasm, Dr. Grant," Tigton said and cleared his throat. "Did you learn that from your father?"
Alan shook his head. "No, my mother."
"I see. I can tell you that it will not save you from this island," Tigton pointed out truthfully.
"The Power Rangers will come for us!" Ellie shouted ragefully.
"You won't get away with this!" Lex added in defiance.
Scorpina rolled her eyes. "Oh, spare us the tired clichés."
"We will get away with anything we wish to get away with," Tigton growled in much ferocity.
"We are leaving to inform Lord Zedd of our victory. We will be back," Scorpina commented and snorted softly.
Goldar snarled. "Putties, keep an eye on the prisoners."
Goldar, Scorpina, and Tigton teleported to the Lunar Palace. A Putty ran its hand over Lex's hair, which made her cringe in disgust. It pulled away when she attempted to bite it.
"Don't touch my hair again, butthead," Lex snapped in fierceness.
"Lex, you have been watching too much of the Back to the Future trilogy," Tim replied while rolling his eyes.
John sighed in a quiet way. "I hate to say it, but Tim is right, Lex. You are into Biff a little too much."
"I can't help it. Biff is the best character in the trilogy," Lex whispered, a nervous chuckle leaving her mouth. "I can't believe I am saying that about a bully."
"Thomas Wilson did say he was able to do Biff because he was a victim of bullying when he was a kid," Ian said honestly.
Alan blew in a soft way. "That is an interesting piece of information about Back to the Future."
"You learn new things every day," Ellie commented, glancing at her boyfriend.
"This is especially true about movies you love," Alan added.
Ellie emitted a quiet laugh. "For example, Frank was to be the mastermind behind the attempted robbery of the McCallister home in Home Alone. He was to call Harry and Marv and tell them to make their move."
"Now, why would Frank want to have his own brother's house robbed?" Ian wondered.
"My guess is Frank was jealous Peter was much more well off than he was. He wanted to make him pay for his fuming jealousy," John suggested.
"I think it is good the film crew did not go with that storyline. Christmas is supposed to be about family and friends coming together, even if things are not festive," Ellie commented.
Ian ran his tongue all over the inside of his mouth. "The McCallisters came together because Kevin was home alone. It happened by accident."
Lex hissed when the Putty attempted to touch her hair again. It held up its hands, a garble coming from it. It looked away while rubbing the top of its head.
"I hope the Power Rangers get here soon, but I do not want them to fall into the trap those monsters have set up for them," Tim said, fear lining his voice.
"None of us do, Tim. At the same time, they will take a risk getting trapped in order to rescue innocent people who have been kidnapped," John responded calmly.
"This time is no different, except it is on the island we thought we left behind a year ago," Alan said, shaking his head in disbelief.
"We are lucky that Utahraptor was already feeding on a carcass. Otherwise, it would have come after us," Ellie said.
"Something tells me those aliens would have kept it from harming us because they needed us alive to carry out their plan," Ian pointed out truthfully.
"That would be ironic," Alan whispered in awe and eyed his girlfriend.
"Irony is a huge part of life. We encounter it at one time or another," Ellie murmured while looking down.
"The most ironic thing about last year's incident was Rexy saving Dr. Grant, Dr. Sattler, Tim, and me when the Velociraptors were targeting us for a meal. She tried to eat Tim and me the night before," Lex said, her body shaking.
"Rexy and the Velociraptors never intended to kill anyone out of malice. They were just looking to satisfy their hunger," John admitted. "I wonder Rexy is right now."
"She's probably sleeping or feeding on a kill she made," Alan answered hopefully.
"Most likely. One thing is clear. Herbivores and carnivores are driven by instinct to eat. It can't be cloned or bred out of them," Ian said with a snort. He and the others watched the Utahraptor continue to eat.
