Chapter 2: Paimon!

"Okay, let me get this straight. You have no idea how you ended up here and who you really are, except for your name?"

"Yep, yep! Paimon has no idea!"

"That's suspicious as hell! But I'm in the same boat too!"

After taking a moment to cool down, Subaru and the floating girl decided to cut out their fear and just talk to each other. The girl had just explained her missing memories on her past upon Subaru's "What the hell are you supposed to be?!"

"Anyway, I guess I should introduce myself," Subaru started, standing up from his seat of sand. Immediately, he plastered a smile on to his face, jutted his hips out with a half-akimbo and pointed a finger to the sky.

"I'm Natsuki Subaru! I'm from Japan, and I have no idea how I got here! I'm also hopelessly broke and illiterate!"

The girl sniggered upon seeing Subaru's pose. "Ahaha, that's so lame! Well, Paimon is Paimon, and thank you for saving me!" she reaffirmed with an aerial bob.

"Paimon, huh?" Subaru commented. "Was Pokémon taken already?"

"Huh? Paimon doesn't know what Pokémon is…"

"Ah, well-wait, what?! How do you not know what Pokémon is? It's such a popular game, you should have heard of it!"

"Hey, come on! I just don't know, don't expect me to know everything! Although, come to think of it… where did you say you were from, again?"

"Um, Japan, why?"

Paimon smiled even brighter. "Nope! Paimon hasn't heard of that place either!"

"Wait…" Subaru faltered, holding a hand up to her. "If you don't know where Japan is, then where are we?"

"Teyvat, of course! The Land of the Seven Archons!"

Subaru's mind went blank upon hearing that. He didn't recognize that name at all. A different script despite the same language, monsters attacking him left and right, and now a completely unexpected name for the region? There was only one thing that could explain all of this at once.

"HAVE I BEEN SUMMONED TO A PARALLEL WORLD?!"

"AAH, KEEP IT DOWN!"

However, Subaru didn't hear anything that Paimon tried to say. He was far too caught up with his recent discovery.

"Am I gonna get some kind of cool superpower?! Oh man, I can't wait! No wonder why I'm surrounded by monsters, they're all my tutorial with Paimon being my instructor! Oh, what kinda magic am I gonna get?! And when am I gonna get my sword? Holy hell, I can't wa-"

"WHAT ARE YOU EVEN SAYING?!"

Paimon's sudden shriek jolted Subaru back into the real world. Taking a quick breath, Subaru immediately bowed low to Paimon, much to her confusion.

"Thank you for summoning me to this world!" he announced. "You're a fairy loli, but you can count as a cute girl as well. What is my task? Defeating a Demon Lord? And my weapons?"

"I… um… don't know what you're talking about…?" Paimon mumbled out, rubbing her head in confusion. "I don't know why you're here, either. I don't get what you mean by 'summoned'. And I don't have any weapons to give you! I can't even lift a sword! And what's 'loli' supposed to mean? Ahh, Paimon is running out of brain juice from all this…"

Subaru blinked in surprise. "A-Ah, sorry, it's just that you fit the image of a cute goddess to have summoned me. But who did then…?"

"I still don't know what you're talking about!"

Subaru brought his finger to his chin to think a little more about this, but then felt the tickle of fabric coming between the touch. Looking down in surprise, Subaru noticed the black-and-white band he had pulled out of Paimon's mouth.

It was a simple black headdress, dotted with white flowers. It reminded Subaru of something that a maid would wear.

'But wait… why does this look so familiar?'

Taking a closer look at the band, he tried to imagine a person wearing it. And for some reason, the first image that popped up was a head of light blue hair.

'Demons laugh when you talk about next year. So… Laugh, Rem!'

'When you said that you hate yourself, it made me want to tell you all the wonderful things I know about you.'

'You are my hero, Subaru-kun!'

'Let us start here, from step one. No, from Zero!'

'Who… is Rem?'

The sudden influx of memories shoved Subaru away, but he didn't dare drop the headdress, no, the relic in his hands. He remembered. He couldn't remember everything, but he remembered the one person he had worked so hard to save, yet failed in the end.

"Rem…" Subaru mumbled as he looked down at her maid's headdress, letting warm tears fall from his eyes.

"Um… hey, are you okay? What happened?" Paimon hovered over his eyes, a worried expression on her face.

Subaru slowly gulped as he gripped onto the headdress. "Just… give me a minute, Paimon. I'm trying to remember things."

Steeling himself, he encroached further into the foreign memories in his mind. Most of them were fuzzy or invisible, but he could keep seeing the face of the same blue-haired girl in his mind. The girl who proclaimed her love for him. The girl who he had lost.

The girl who tortured and nearly killed him, only for him to actually die at another's hands.

"Gah-!" Subaru choked as that strange memory entered his mind. His own death. Something he had never thought he would experience. Replaying the unbelievable memory over and over again, Subaru started to feel the phantom pains across his body as well as a pressure in his stomach.

Finally dropping the headband, Subaru made his way to the sea and violently threw up what little he had that morning. Even after everything was gone, Subaru kept heaving into the sea, not accepting the past that his memories showed.

'I… I actually died-!'

Looking down, he once again confirmed that his legs were in place. He could clearly remember every time that Morningstar had struck his body. He could still remember, from another set of memories, the expression that Rem had given him when she had lost control, and her horn was out.

And yet, there were the contrasting memories of the same girl professing her undying love for him and doing everything in her power to follow his will.

'This… none of this makes sense! Rem… what are you? Did you kill me? Did you love me? What are you to me?! And what am I to you?!'

Subaru gazed down at the stained reflection in the water beneath him. All he saw was himself. Unmarred. Unscathed. Not even a single sign of his past encounters on his skin. For some reason, it was all completely undone.

'How disgusting-!'

"Umm, Natsuki? Are you okay right now?"

Subaru snapped himself out of his retrospection upon hearing Paimon's voice. Looking down at himself, he noticed that his cloak and his coat were taken off him, set away on the sand behind him.

"I, uhh, had no idea what to do to help, so I thought I'd try and free you up!" Paimon said with a nervous smile. "So, I took your loose clothes away!"

"T-thank you, Paimon," Subaru choked out as he turned his gaze back down on to Rem's headdress. Walking up to it, he picked it up and pocketed it.

"Paimon, I think I just remembered a fragment of my past. This headdress, it belonged to someone I knew. I… was transported to another world before I came here. I don't remember anything about it, but I do remember her."

'Think, Subaru! What's the last thing you remember about her-?'

'The shadow washing over them from the tower, enveloping himself, Rem and a blonde haired-'

"She's here!"

"Huh?!"

"Paimon! She's here! The owner of this thing, Rem, is here! I need to find her!"

"Wait, wait, wait, Paimon doesn't understand! Just… Just take a moment to breathe!"

Pausing to heed her words, Subaru took a quick breath to cool himself down.

"You were right, sorry. The name of the one who I came here with is Rem. She's a blue haired Oni."

"Huh? An Oni?"

"Yeah, they're a race where I'm from. Sadly, they were all wiped out by the Witch Cult, leaving only Rem and her sister behind. I think… I need to find her."

"Don't you know where she is?"

"Of course, not! I just got teleported here from that tower in the other world, I have no idea where she could be. However, I know that she came with me. That's why I need to find her. I need to know if she's alright and find a way back home with her."

'I also need to understand how she tried to kill me and loved me at the same time, but I can't explain that to Paimon.'

"Oh, so you need to find this girl?" Paimon asked with a small smile. "Well, why don't you ask The Seven?"

Subaru raised his brow. "The Seven? What's up with the super generic yet awesome name?"

"Well, I guess you can call them Gods. They're beings from Celestia that handle matters down here in Teyvat. The Seven Archons!"

"Wait, your gods actually come down and chat with you?!"

"Huh? Of course! Don't you have divine towns in your world?"

"Well, I dunno about Rem's world because I don't remember, but we never had that in my world. Huh, I guess that line I told Rem won't apply as expected in this world, then…"

"Well, your world sounds really bad, so Paimon won't delve into it. Do you want to meet the Seven?"

Subaru looked back up at Paimon, meeting her eyes. "If they can help me find Rem, then yeah, I do."

"Great!" Paimon cheered then. "Paimon'll be your guide, then!"

"My guide?" Subaru echoed. "Wait, didn't you just say you lost your memories as well?!"

"Yeah, but I know a lot about this place. I may not remember how I got here or anything like that, but I know a whole lot about this world. I can guide you through it!"

"Hmm, so that's your role, huh? You're the mascot and the guide of this game!"

"Huh? Game? Natsuki, everything you say just doesn't make sense."

"Ah, don't worry about it. Also, call me Subaru. Calling me Natsuki is just weird."

"Huh? If Paimon remembers correctly…" Suddenly, Paimon spread her legs wide and jutted her hips out, and thrust her hand up to point at the sky. "I'm Natsuki Subaru! I'm from Japan, and I have no idea how I got here! I'm also hopelessly broke and illiterate!" she echoed Subaru's past words, holding the same pose he was in earlier.

Natsuki grimaced upon seeing Paimon's posing. 'Hey… that really does look cringey… Have I been doing that all my life?'

"That's what you said, right?" Paimon continued, dropping the pose. "Then, isn't your first name Natsuki? Why do you want me to call you by your last name?"

Subaru paused in confusion, then suddenly widened his eyes as he realized what Paimon was talking about. "Ah! You're talking about that Western Culture of placing your first name before your last! It's so weird to see it your way, but you would call me Subaru Natsuki. Damn, it's even weirder to say that in Japanese… Anyway, it's a tradition where I'm from."

"Oh, Paimon gets it!" she bobbed in the air with a smile. "You're from a place similar to Inazuma, aren't you?"

"A place similar to… lightning? [1] Umm, how would Japan be similar to lightning of all things?"

"Hey, you just said it!" Paimon continued. "A place similar to Inazuma! What's so weird about that? In fact, you even look like an Inazuman to some extent."

"Wait, Inazuman? Are you talking about some place here called Inazuma?"

"Of course! What would – ah, right. You probably thought I was saying lightning, right?"

"IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE IF YOU SAY IT LIKE THAT!"

"Hehehe, well, everyone gets it mixed up. Also, we're burning daylight, let's get going already!"

Subaru shook his head in exasperation. "Alright, alright, you fairy loli."

"Again, I don't know what that means."

And so, Subaru took back his discarded loose clothes and set off on his journey to meet the Seven Archons and eventually find the person he had arrived in this world with, Rem. With Paimon as his guide, there would be nothing that would stand in his way!

Except, of course, his very first task. And his next, and the one after that.

"Kill those Slimes!" Paimon spoke, turning back to Subaru. However, turning back, she found that her newly minted partner was missing. "Huh? Where are you?"

Floating overhead, Paimon found Subaru hiding behind a rock in the middle of the beach.

"It's the first time I've gotten so close to those Slimes…" Subaru mumbled to himself.

"Hey, doofus! Did you hear me?! Kill those two Slimes!"

"WHAAAT?!" Subaru gaped at the floating girl. "I can't kill them! I don't even have a weapon, or any means to fight! The moment I touch them I'm gonna get frozen!"

"Wow, you really are a wimp, huh? I thought that whip was useful."

"Huh? What whip?"

"Haven't you noticed?! There's a whip around your waist! I noticed it when I took of your coat."

Looking at the side of his waist, Subaru did find a coiled whip attached to his hip.

"Ah, right. I probably didn't notice it because I haven't bathed since coming here."

What he said was actually true. He wanted to, but there was always the threat of those ice slimes around the corner. He did occasionally wash himself, especially when he took a drink of water, but he could never take a proper bath in his circumstances.

"WHAAT?! TAKE A BATH, YOU IDIOT!"

"Paimon… you're ridiculously cute, you know that?"

"SHUT UP AND USE THAT WHIP ALREADY! I NEED YOU GIVE ME FOOD, YOU CAN'T BE USELESS!"

"Okay, okay! Wait, why do I feel like I heard your true intentions, there?"

Releasing the whip from its seal, he flailed it around for a while. Observing the way that the end drifted in the air, Subaru wondered how he could use it against the slimes.

"Okay, this can't be too hard, can't it? I mean, I've been isekai'd to this world. The world's supposed to make me strong, right?"

Slowly, Subaru walked up to the two slimes before him. They were standing over water, having frozen the surface that they were standing on.

"Oi, slimes! I, Natsuki Subaru, am here to defeat you all!"

The small slimes looked back at Subaru and slanted their white eyes down. They started to bounce over to him.

"S-Stay away, or I'll be forced to use this!" Subaru yelled back at them, holding the whip up to the air threateningly.

The slimes didn't pay any heed to what Subaru said and simply kept on bounding forward.

"Alright, y-you leave me no choice!" Subaru yelled, pulling his whip back. "You damn blobs of EXP!"

With a loud crack, Subaru thrust the line of the whip forward. In his tension, he couldn't properly think about how he was handling the weapon. However, instead of messing up his attacks, this forced him to use his muscle memory while operating the whip, ensuring that the head of the whip caught one of the slimes on the face. The slime got knocked back into the water and then dissolved in it, now completely dead.

"See! You did it!" Paimon cheered.

"What?! Yahoo! I'm capable to fighting!"

However, despite its friend's death, the other slime only crossed its eyes. Suddenly, as it stood before Subaru, it started to grow.

"Umm… Paimon… is the slime supposed to do that?"

"No… I think we pissed it off."

The slime, once tall enough to reach Subaru's knee, now was taller than him. Moreover, there was an ice crown generated on its head, seemingly protecting it. It looked even more imposing before, like it had just evolved.

"Run?"

"Run."

Yelling out loud, Subaru and Paimon ran into the mainland, fleeing from the incoming Large Slime.

"*pant*, *pant*, Did we lose it?"

"Y-Yeah, Paimon thinks so. You ran pretty fast, Subaru. I almost couldn't keep up!"

"Heh. I guess that I'm the absolute best at running away."

"That's not something you should be proud of!"

Subaru wiped the little sweat built on his forehead from that quick run. 'Damn, I think my stamina's gotten better from that other world. I'm less tired than I normally am after a run like that. Well, it could be the adrenaline as well.'

Subaru took a quick bearing of his surroundings.

"Huh? We're here?"

Subaru blinked in surprise when he realized that they were already at the statue.

"Ooh! A Statue of the Seven!" Paimon commented with a midair wiggle.

"Huh? That's what it's called? So generic…"

"Don't say that! This is a Statue dedicated to one of the Seven. This one is for Barbatos, the Anemo Archon!"

"Question, Paimon-sensei. What's 'Anemo'? Can this god talk to animals or something?"

"No, stupid! Anemo is the name given to the Element of Wind."

"Huh? The one time they aren't generic…"

Paimon simply shook her head. "Anyway, I don't know if the Anemo Archon can specifically help you find Rem, but I'll take you to meet him first. There's a reason for that~. For now, let's go to the statue!"

"Umm, how?" Subaru wondered out loud, looking around at the water surrounding the land.

Paimon evilly grinned. "By making you take a bath, of course."

Without any warning, Paimon suddenly flew away from Subaru, then zipped ahead and collided with him, making him fall into the water.

"Dorowazu!"

"Swim across! And take your bath while you're at it!"

Subaru groaned as he softly waded through the water. "Aaah, what the hell, Paimon! My clothes are gonna take forever to dry now!"

"Then you should have taken a bath!"

Since the river was so short, Subaru was able to reach the end of the path rather quickly. Stepping back onto land, Subaru started to take of his drenched clothes.

"AAH!" Paimon screeched out loud. "Why are you removing your clothes!"

"I need to dry them, goddamit! It's not my fault I ended up in the water!"

"Ah… ehehe, well, I'll just look away~."

After quickly pressing his clothes dry, he put them back on himself, ignoring the way that it still stuck onto his damp skin. He wasn't going to sit around naked forever, after all.

"Alright, turn back."

Upon turning back to him, Paimon simply blinked in surprise. "Umm, they're not dry yet."

"Of course, they're not! I don't have some magic clothe drying ability!"

"Ehe, well, Paimon doesn't worry about that! Let's get closer to the statue!"

Saying that, Paimon drifted ahead to the large Statue, with Subaru following in tail. It was pretty big, about 15 feet high. It stood as a pillar, upon which a winged hooded figure held an orb in its hands. The image reminded Subaru of an angelic fortune teller, gazing into a crystal ball.

Subaru encroached upon the foot of the Statue, marveling in its size. Curiously, Subaru rested a hand on the surface of the Statue.

'What the-'

Subaru jolted in surprise as something was sapped away from his body. A wave of darkness shot out of Subaru's body and moved into the statue, getting sucked in through the orb in the Statue's hands.

"AAH! What happened?!" Paimon shrieked out loud.

Subaru gasped out loud as he pulled away from the surface of the Statue, gripping the hand that held it. "I… I don't know."

"Umm, how do you feel, Subaru?"

Subaru took a moment to inspect himself. "I feel… fine. No, actually, I feel better than normal!"

"Huh?"

"Yeah!" Subaru emphasized as he circled his arms around. "I feel so much freer! I was feeling super tense for those last few days! It's like the source of that tension was just taken away!"

"Ah, um, Paimon can sense it too," Paimon added, making Subaru blink in surprise. "Paimon could see something building up inside you, something trapped. But that's gone now."

Subaru gazed at his chest pensively. "Maybe… it's something from my world? I wonder if we had magic there… Hey Paimon, do we get magic here?"

Paimon slowly rubbed her head. "Well, I don't know about your world, but what was trapped inside you was a lot like the Elemental Energy we have here. But… Paimon can't recognize the element that you used."

"Elemental Energy?" Subaru echoed.

"Yep! Elemental Energy is the force that sustains Visions; blessings given to people by one of the Archons. Just like the Seven Archons, we have Seven Elements: Pyro, Hydro, Anemo, Electro, Dendro, Cryo and Geo."

"Hmm, hmm, I see, Paimon-sensei," Subaru nodded in tune. "What's Dendro? I can guess all the other elements by their names because of how generic they are, and you already told me about the exception Anemo."

"Dendro is Plant Life!"

Subaru blinked in surprise. "Why does that sound so lame?"

"Anyway, let's get going!" Paimon replied, ignoring Subaru's question. "We still need to find Rem! You'll probably get a step closer if you make it to Monstadt!"

Subaru took a step ahead, but upon gazing at the path beyond the Statue, his mouth went dry. His heartbeat started to resound in his ears as flashes of a flaming axe re-emerged in his mind.

"Subaru? Subaru!"

Gasping out loud, Subaru came back to reality upon hearing a shrill, cute voice calling out for him.

"Are you okay? You keep on zoning out. What's going on?"

"Paimon… aren't there those humanoid creatures there, the ones wearing masks?"

"Oh, you mean the hilichurls! Yeah, they're there, but if you can't fight them, we can simply navigate around them."

"Is there… something else? A bigger version of them, with darker skin and huge axes?"

Paimon blinked in surprise. "Bigger version… huge axes… no doubt about it, you're talking about mitachurls."

"Mitachurl…"

"But there shouldn't be a Mitachurl here. They mainly hang out around hilichurl camps, and that is if were unlucky. How do you know about them?"

Subaru gazed back at his new friend.

"I… had a dream about it."

"A dream?" Paimon echoed. "What happened in it?"

"The Mitachurl, it chopped off my-"

Quiet. That was the first thing that Subaru had noticed.

The grass beneath him stopped moving in the wind. The world greyed out. Looking up in shock, Subaru noticed that Paimon was frozen midair too, a worried look stuck on her face. The entire world was frozen.

"I love you."

And amidst that silence, the scariest thing that Subaru had ever encountered came to him once more.

A woman adorned in black, made of shadows, resembling the kind that emerged from his body just sooner. She was standing across him, having appeared out of nowhere.

"Subaru… let me bring you home," it spoke. "You're not supposed to be here. Neither is the blue-haired maid. Let me help you reach back – no, wait!"

Subaru, not being able to say anything in return, could only gape as a black hand emerged from the shadows of the woman and reached all the way to his chest. Slowly, the hand phased through his chest and caressed his heart.

Agony. The sensation of his heart being toyed with, lightly squeezed, like she was reminding him who he belonged to. It was pure agony.

"I love you," it spoke, emotionless.

Subaru wanted to scream. He didn't want to be here forever. He still had to find Rem. He still had to remember everything from his past. He still needed to get answers from her. He certainly did not want to become this witch's plaything.

"I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you-"

Subaru gasped out loud as he was thrust back into moving time. Immediately, he grasped his chest and heaved to the floor beneath him.

"Subaru! What happened?!" Paimon yelled out, growing even more concerned for the unusual boy.

Subaru's breath choked; he wanted to speak, he wanted to reassure Paimon, he couldn't he couldn't he couldn't-

*SPLASH*

Subaru gasped out loud once more, but not because of the experience he had. This time, it was because of the cold water he was thrown into.

Rubbing the chill from his eyes, Subaru winced as he looked back up at Paimon.

"Seriously, you need to get your head out of the clouds," Paimon chided. "Hmm, I'm considering giving you an ugly nickname! Let's see…"

"Thank you, Paimon."

"Well, what about – huh?"

Subaru looked back up at Paimon once again, smiling at her. "Thanks for helping me out!"

However, he couldn't feel that smile, not with the memory of what happened playing out in his mind. What disgusted him even more was that the motion felt far too familiar; he must have gotten used to it in his past life, in the other world.

Paimon gaped at him for a moment, then beamed back at him. "Well, Paimon's glad to have knocked some sense into you, Stinky Space! Anyway, what where you going to say before this?"

"I'll say it some other time, it was just a dream," Subaru said, keeping up his false smile. "And Stinky Space? What's that?"

"My new nickname for you!" Paimon cheered. "You smell all the time, and you keep spacing out! It's one of the best nicknames I've ever made!"

"Gaah, that's just a weird way to insult me, isn't it, you fairy loli?! Well, no matter, let's just get going then-"

"YA!"

Subaru jerked back around upon hearing the sudden noise. What he saw made him turn pale.

A whole horde of hilichurls were running up to them. Following up on the flank of the army was the very creature that had killed him once already; the Blazing Axe Mitachurl.

[1] Inazuma is the Japanese word for lightning. When Paimon says it, she means the noun, the name of the city. When Subaru hears it in a Japanese sentence, his mind would translate it to lightning. Paimon also goes through the same issue, but in reverse. Hence arises the nomenclature issue with the city of Inazuma.

A/N: And that's Chapter 2. I have a bit of a routine down for this fic, hopefully it won't turn to shit when my Semester starts.

Also, holy shit. I did not expect such a response from you guys. The one chapter that I released for this fic gave this more favorites and follows than my lone fully completed fic with 33 chapters! Well, that fic is in a niche corner of the fanbase, being a Jojo's and DDLC crossover, so I don't blame myself for its poor turnout.

I've finally decided on an ending for this fic. I've said earlier that my plan wasn't complete for this, but now that I'm writing it, my 20-year old chuunibyou fantasizing mindset helped me come up with a solid ending for this. Sadly, it's considering the entire lore of Genshin Impact, which means that it will require details for all the story arcs up to Snezhnaya, or at least up to Sumeru (being a Hindu Indian living in the Middle East, I can't wait for Sumeru, honestly. I genuinely freaked when I saw the word Puranas in the title of Arc 4). I don't want to keep writing the same fic for three to four years. I don't know if I have that much tenacity. What I am still not sure about is how and when Subaru will connect back to Lugunica, though. That I will still need to think about.

Anyway, Subaru has officially met Paimon. Honestly, I can't write either of these characters very well, I had to go back and correct my words a hundred times just to make sure that they sounded right.

Now, onto the reviews. Well, uh, there are 14 reviews that I should respond to, first time I've ever had to handle so many. I might stop responding to every single review in the future, although I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. Don't let this discourage you from writing reviews, though.

worrierfierce: Nope, Subaru's not getting a Vision, nor is he gonna access Teyvat's Elemental Energy without a Vision like the Traveler. I made that clear with this chapter, so it's not a spoiler. There is a reason why, though. This is all in all a pretty loaded question, so I can't respond to it properly without spoiling something.

SomeRandomMexican: Thanks for the compliment! It is true that I could find a silver-haired girl in Teyvat, but there aren't any there. I can single out a few potential ones that are close though, like Noelle and my personal preference if not for its fault of taking too long to meet, Ayaka.

Pleyades0104: This is the normal Natsuki Subaru. The shadow that was supposed to take him to Vollachia took him here instead.

Also, I actually didn't know about Hu Tao's VA being the same as Emilia. Thanks for telling me, I'll make a nod to that when the time comes.

123ABIR123: Thanks a ton.

Drcaus: Survive...? Well, ehehe...

leo0074: Thanks! I'm looking forward to writing it as much as I can as well.

Crimsonsage: Thanks! And no, the Traveler isn't gonna be in this. This is purely Subaru, Rem and no other otherworlder.

prabhjiv: Ooh boy, you have no idea. The next chapter should detail his weakness enough.

Lancer died: Thanks for the advice! Personally, I've had no luck in the dating game, so I just can't properly set out the emotions for love onto paper. I did consider having a ship that I could manufacture, but I still feel like I won't be able to make it genuine. Moreover, there is also the issue of what Subaru will do if he does fall in love with someone in Teyvat, then remembers Emilia. I've read a lot of romance stories, especially in fanfiction, but I don't know if I could make something like that myself.

Also, quick side note, but your profile pic made me wonder if Subaru would have a similar experience to Vollachia in Murata. That'd be fun to write, also helps me picture Murata as well.

Gilgamesh King of Mongrels: Have I mentioned that I am less than a month old in Genshin Impact...? No? Well, there you go. Regarding Eula, I don't know much about her. However, I do have her story quest lined up. I just need to get my next story key in two days and I can unlock it. I have seen her character demo and a life sketch for her on Youtube, so I have a brief idea of what you're talking about. All in all, being a dancer, I'm sure she'd be able to connect with Subaru on some level with his radio calisthenics, if only to demean him for it. I'll think about it some more when my story quest with her is done.

ImNotAWriterNotReally: I'm not planning to merge Teyvat and Lugunica more than necessary. The only outlanders in there are gonna be Subaru and Rem. And maybe Aloy, I don't know (I actually support Aloy if she's free. I've only got Jean for 5-stars, I need more firepower in my team). The ideas you suggested are interesting, but they won't be applied here. Although, you did get me interested when you mentioned Pandora...

Edgelord1704: I believe that Re: Zero in itself is a bold move. Us fanfic writers can only live up to the ideal that Tappei Nagatsuki set up for us. I am also considering Amber as a love interest for Subaru, seeing how much their personalities match. And as I mentioned in an earlier review response, and as suggested in this chapter, there will come a time when Subaru remembers Emilia. My main concern is how that revelation will throw a wrench into any romance that Subaru begins.

Well, that's all for the reviews!

Quick rant against Inazuma, I'm currently doing the Ayaka Quest, and Paimon suggested Pizza out of the blue. But I don't have a pizza recipe. So, upon following an online guide, I teleported to Stormterror's Lair to find a pizza recipe. And what do you know, the chest was missing. I don't have the pizza recipe, nor do I have the chest in which it's supposed to be. There's no other potential pizza recipes either. How am I supposed to continue this quest if I can't make pizza?! I want to know who Tsubaki is! Hell, I would like to personally teach the Traveler how to make pizza, I've made it from scratch, dough and all! But I can't, I'd have to get isekai'd to do that. And as this fic would suggest, I am not a good fit for Teyvat, despite my potential for an Anemo Vision. Hmm... what should be my priority, getting isekai'd to a parallel universe where things want to kill me and my life can fall into threat, or teach a game protagonist how to make pizza without a recipe for the sake of progression and to impress a sheltered anime waifu with his cooking skills? ... Yeah, I guess I know what to do. It's all for the story. Beam me up, Mihoyo!

Okay, that got off the rails real quick, but this is a serious concern of mine. I've contacted support for it already, their first response was everything that I tried and failed, even though I mentioned it all in my query. Bugs like this are pretty common from what I know, so it shouldn't be a major matter. Hopefully this shit gets resolved soon. Let me know if you've had a similar experience with any past events, and how you resolved them.

Anyway, that's it for now. What's next? Subaru's personal hell! I'll see you next chapter.
