"I think Maria is really starting to like you," Rosa giggled. She was holding the bags while Shion kept holding Maria.
"She better after having to change her." Shion groaned as she looked down at Maria. "Will you at least say Shion now?"
"Rena." Maria smiled as she looked back up at Shion.
"I figured you'd say that." Shion sighed.
"I think she's telling you thank you." Rosa giggled.
"I still can't believe how easy you make this look." Shion frowned. "I was just expecting holding Maria to be a short time and easy to handle. Then, when she started crying, I panicked."
"You panicked because you're not used to this." Rosa smiled. "When Maria was born, I always freaked out whenever she cried. As time passed, I learned that only makes things worse."
"How often does Maria cry?" Shion raised an eyebrow.
"Before coming here, a lot." Rosa sighed.
"No way." Shion stopped as she looked down at Maria. "But ever since I met you, Maria has only cried back in the store."
"Trust me, it's true." Rosa stopped beside her. "She was crying when Rena first met me. Then somehow, Maria stopped once she saw her."
"Rena got her to stop crying?" Shion's eyes got wide.
"I think Rena's just great at interacting with babies." Rosa smiled as she looked down at Maria.
"That makes sense." Shion giggled as she looked down at Maria, too. "Rena is great at interacting with you, isn't she?"
Maria only smiled up at Shion, who smiled back at her.
"I still think Keiichi might be right about his theory." Shion looked back up at Rosa.
"The sister idea?" Rosa giggled. "I guess it's possible, and I wouldn't mind having a daughter like Rena."
"I'm sure she'd appreciate that," Shion giggled. "Anyway, we should continue so we can meet everyone."
"Don't you think we should head to my apartment first?" Rosa replied. "We could at least cut up the fruit we bought for everyone."
"Yeah, that would make sense," Shion nervously laughed. "Let's head to your place and do that before meeting up with everyone."
Rosa nodded as she started heading for her hotel. Once Rosa entered, the person at the desk told her she got a message asking her to call a number they had written down. Afterward, they went up to her floor and entered her room.
"Who do you think called you?" Shion asked as she sat at the table in the small kitchen of the room.
"No idea." Rosa looked at the number. "You don't mind getting started while I check this, do you?"
"No problem." Shion smiled as she sat Maria down. "Just leave it to me."
"Thanks." Rosa giggled as she walked over to the phone and dialed the number. After a few rings, someone answered.
"Hello, is this Rosa Ushiromiya?"
"Yes…" Rosa raised an eyebrow. "May I ask who this is?"
"Hi, Miss Ushiromiya. I'm from the company that awarded you the free vacation. I wanted to call to apologize again for losing one of your bags and ask if you were enjoying your vacation."
"Oh, yes, I've been enjoying my time here," Rosa sighed as she lay on the bed. "Everyone here is very friendly, and I have met some fantastic people."
"That's good to hear. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience we caused you earlier."
"It's fine." Rosa sighed. "Honestly, things worked out for the better that it happened."
"I'm happy to hear that. Also, we wanted to offer you more for your vacation after our mishap."
"More?" Rosa looked up at the ceiling. "You already gave me money to buy the stuff I lost, though."
"I mean, we'd like to offer you another week for your vacation."
"Another week?" Rosa sat up on the bed. "You're willing to pay for me to stay for another week?"
"Like I said, we wanted to make it up to you, and if you were enjoying your vacation, we'd let you stay longer."
"I don't know." Rosa looked down. "It just seems excessive. I mean, I'm enjoying myself, but…"
"Hey, Rosa?" Shion came over, holding Maria, who was frowning. "I'm sorry to bug you, but can I ask something?"
"Hold on a sec." Rosa placed the phone on her shoulder. "What is it, Shion?"
"I think Maria might be a little hungry." Shion looked down at her. "Is watermelon okay to give to a baby?"
"Yes, watermelon is actually perfect for a baby." Rosa giggled. "Just cut some up into small enough pieces and give it to her.."
"Thank you." Shion sighed as she walked back over to the small kitchen. Meanwhile, Rosa put the phone back up to her ear.
"Sorry about that." Rosa sighed. "My new friend needed my help with something."
"Oh, no problem. So, can I interest you in staying another week?"
Rosa paused as she thought about this. She tapped her finger on the bed before replying.
"I guess one more week wouldn't be so bad." Rosa sighed. "The room is fully paid for, right?"
"Of course."
"Then I'll take that offer." Rosa smiled.
"Great to hear. Hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation."
"I hope so, too," Rosa said. "If that's all, then I have to go."
"Yes, that's all. Enjoy the rest of your day."
"You too." Rosa hung up the phone. She returned to the kitchen and saw Shion cutting strawberries while Maria sat on the counter eating watermelon. "Need some help?"
"A little help would be nice." Shion giggled as she turned to Rosa. "Maria's helping taste test the watermelon currently."
"I can see that." Rosa giggled as she walked over to Maria. "Are you helping Shion prepare things for the picnic?"
"Mama." Maria looked up and smiled at Rosa.
"Good girl." Rosa smiled as she grabbed a watermelon and started cutting it up.
"So, who was that on the phone?" Shion looked over at Rosa.
"The people who awarded me this vacation offered me another week for free," Rosa replied.
"So you're staying another week? Shion smiled.
"Nope, I told them I couldn't." Rosa kept cutting the watermelon before turning to look at Shion, who was frowning. "Just kidding, Maria and I are staying for another week."
"That's good to hear." Shion sighed. "Still, that was a little mean."
"You would know, wouldn't you?" Rosa giggled as she went back to work.
"I guess that's fair." Shion giggled as she did the same.
