Complaining that life was unfair, Sakura discovered, was pointless. Because it was fair in each and every way. Whether you were rich or poor, trained or untrained, your fate was decided whenever you faced a Titan. It was certain death. Even with her enhanced skills as a kunoichi, being the only person able to wield chakra in this world, the ugly creatures with no genitalia were a force to reckon. Just the feeling of their horrendous chakra was enough to push her over the edge the first time she encountered one. It had been a year ago.

She had woken up on the shore, naked, hungry and chakra deprived. She would later discover that she had encountered a Pure Titan which was 5m tall. She could only stare in shock as it ran towards her, the stomach bulging and limbs flailing wildly. Had it not been for one man, who slashed at the Titan's throat cutting its head of entirely, she would've been resting in the belly of the Titan just like countless other humans. The said man, one she was all too familiar with since her genin days and recently reunited with, went by the name Sasuke Uchiha. The only thing that remained of him was a short katana which he threw to the ground before disappearing in a puff of smoke. She hadn't seen him since.

Mentally berating herself for even thinking about her former teammate which only caused her more pain, Sakura snapped her bleary eyes open. She stared up to a stone ceiling. Sitting up with a groan, she took in her surroundings. She was in a cell of sorts, judging by the metal bars in front of her. She raised her hand to rub her eyes only to find them heavily chained. The same applied to her ankles. She was sitting on a bed which was rather comfortable and warm considering she was being held as a prisoner. Her dress had been replaced with a plain white shirt and a long black skirt.

There was a tray on a drawer with an assortment of foods which she had only seen in this world. Not bothering to check whether it was poisoned or not, she could easily remove the poison in her system being a medic, she ate the bread and potato followed by boiled eggs and fresh fruit before downing a jug of milk in one go. Feeling satisfied, she leaned back and relaxed as she waited for her captors to arrive.

They came an hour later. Sakura was halfway through her stretches when she felt two chakra signatures approaching her cell. She stopped and watched as two men, whom she recognized as members of the Survey Corps during her three-day surveillance, come with rifles. One of them with dirty blonde hair took out a set of keys and opened the door. "Come here," he said gruffly. Sakura obliged and walked towards them only to stop as her chains kept her from walking further.

She sent the guards a look before the other guard with brown hair stepped forward and unshackled her before replacing them with cuffs around her wrists, pulling her hands behind her back. Sakura didn't complain as she was forcibly pushed forward, biting herself not to lose her cool at the guards' rude behavior. She mentally mapped the directions and steps she took in case they returned her here and she needed to escape. But she doubted they'd do that. Considering the skills she has displayed, they needed her more than they wanted her jailed.

She was brought out of her musings as she was pushed into a nondescript room. She sent the gaurds a glare, her hands itching to give them the middle finger before the door was promptly slammed in her face. 'Sucks,' she thought with a frown as she turned around.

The first thing she noticed was Levi Ackerman scowling in the back despite how short he was. Next she noticed Commander Hange Zoe and Armin Arlet in the centre of the room. There was also Mikasa Ackerman, Jean Kristen and Connie Springer. She was surprised to find Gabi Braun shackled and kneeling beside Levi. Hadn't she killed the bitch? What surprised her the most was Eren Kruger sitting between Mikasa and Connie. 'Is that Eren? Why does he look comfortable there?' His face was well shaven and his hair was pulled into a bun at the back of his head. A few strands covered his forehead. Everything about him was enticing.

She must've voiced her thoughts judging by the way the titan shifter narrowed his eyes whilst Mikasa sent her a distasteful glare.

"So you know Eren as well? Not surprising considering you managed to impersonate one of our cadets perfectly, which is a pending matter of discussion but we have urgent matters first. The issue of your identity, who are you?" Hange spoke, her eyes almost drilling holes into her despite her cheery demeanor. "Can I take a seat?" she asked as she flexed her wrists behind her. "No, you may not. A dog doesn't choose what it wants," Levi's voiced sounded from the back, cool and detached. "Look, I had a pretty long walk from my cell to here and you forgot to give me shoes. I appreciate you guys giving me a nice bed and all but my back and feet are killing me so I'd really appreciate it if you continued with the acts of kindness," Sakura said, her voice sweet with a saccharine smile.

There was a tense silence before Eren stood up from his seat and dragged the chair over to her. He sent her a sparing look which sent butterflies reeling in her stomach before going back to his position between his two friends. She sat down, hoping that her cheeks weren't betraying her embarrassment as she silently noted the way Mikasa's eyes darted between her and Eren. She muttered a small 'thank you' before looking at the Commander in front of her. "Now I'm going to ask a few questions which require your absolute cooperation. What's your name and where do you come from? How were you able to do such inhumane stunts?" Hange asked.

"Can you take these off?" she said as she moved her shoulders up and down, referring to the cuffs. "No, we will not be taking them off until you answer our questions and we're satisfied with your responses," Armin spoke, voice strong and firm. "Who are you to decide whether I'm telling the truth or not?" she shot back with a glare. "For someone who's being held captive, you sure have a shitty attitude," Gabi sneered with a smirk. "Sounds like someone familiar, don't you think so?" Sakura retorted cooly, not bothering to look at the brunette.

"Are you going to take these off or not?" the kunoichi asked again. When she received no reply, she simply channelled chakra to her hands and broke apart the metal cuffs. She took delight in their shocked expressions as she removed the cuffs without so much as a breath of effort. She tossed them to the ground, making a small dent when they landed. They must've been heavier than she thought. She flexed her wrists and stretched her arms a few times before turning to look at the Commander, her sweet demeanor entirely dropping as she settled into a familiar role, the kunoichi she truly was.

"My name is Sakura Haruno. I come from a place far, far away none of you have ever been. As for how I was able to do such inhumane stunts, it's because where I come from, we have powers commonly known as chakra in our native language. Chakra can be used in various means such as enhancing my strength, speed and even managing to impersonate one of your cadets. As for my stamina, endurace and flexibility, that was pure skill as I was trained in the art of dodging and evasion as a combat medic," she supplied, her voice low but loud enough for everyone to hear.

"What is this place that you speak of?" Armin asked. She smiled emotionlessly at him. "You wouldn't know even if I told you," she replied. "Why are you here?" Mikasa asked, her voice cold and hard. 'Did I do something to offend her?' she thought. The amount of venom in her tone was enough to make her do a double take. "My home was destroyed. Everything was falling apart and one of teammates sought to save me. He teleported me to the coast in Marley where I spent the entire year as a Marleyian doctor," she replied. "Who gave you the job?" Armin asked. "A kind old man named Dr. Yaeger," she spoke. "The old fool is dead," Gabi barked out. Sakura remained looking at Hange, her face not betraying any emotions.

"How do you know Eren?" This time it was Connie who asked. She was surprised it wasn't Mikasa who asked, the girl seemed to have a grudge against her. "I met him five months ago. He introduced himself as Eren Kruger and was injured during the war with the Middle East. Though it was quite obvious to me that he was faking it," she told them. "How'd you know he was faking?" Hange asked. "Back my homeland, I was a shinobi, a kunoichi, a ninja, whichever name you decide to use. We took missions as teams or went solo, missions like information gathering, assassination, protection and so forth. It was pretty easy to deduce he was a spy considering I have taken some of those missions," she replied. "You mentioned you were a combat medic," Jean spoke for the first time. "Yes, medics were required not to engage in battle because their job was to heal the injured and provide backup when necessary. I was an exception to this rule because I mastered the Strength of a Hundred Healings which allows me to heal any injury inflicted on myself and healing at a larger scale. Thus I was a combat medic, meaning I could engage in battle whilst retaining my duties as a medic," the kunoichi told them as she pointed to the purple diamond on her forehead.

She noticed that Armin had been taking notes, no doubt curious about what she was saying. "Can you demonstrate how to use chakra?" Hange spoke. Sakura held back a smirk. Oh, she was more than happy to oblige. She stood up then with a chakra-powered jump, shot off to the ceiling and stuck both her hands on ceiling. She retracted one hand which she used to hold her skirt so that no one would peek at her underwear. "The ability to stick on surfaces and jump higher than normal," her voice sounded in the astonished room. She spun and latched her feet on the ceiling, one hand still holding her skirt then walked along ceiling until she reached the walls and walked downwards before finally finding her way to the floor.

She went back to her seat and performed a transformation jutsu, turning into a perfectly bored looking Levi. Shooting Hange a smirk, she changed into Mikasa. Mikasa shot her a glare but she ignored her, turning into Eren before returning to her own appearance. There were some words shared between Hange and Armin. "As a doctor, how would you grade yourself?" Armin asked. "Well, I'd probably say I'm the best doctor you'll ever meet. I started training as a medic when I was thirteen years old. I read as much medical scrolls as I could, being a bookworm and started performing surgeries at fourteen. Before I was transported here, I was considered to be on par with my master. I think Eren can agree with me on this one, he's had first hand experience of my medical skills during his stay in Marley," she retorted, shooting Eren a sideways glance before catching Mikasa's gaze with her own. There was a tense silence as the two girls glared at each other.

"What are your goals and ambitions? Why are you here? You are from Marley yet just a few days ago, you were fighting against them," Levi asked as he walked closer, stopping to stand beside Hange. Sakura let out a small exhale of air. "I need help," she said evenly. "What help?" he shot back. Her hand unconsciously went to her slightly bulging stomach. "I want to understand how Titan biology works," she replied. "Why would you want that?" he asked again. "Because I was raised to thwart every power which threatens the existence of mankind. My home is already gone, there's nothing left. This is my new home now and I'm sure as hell that I'm not going to let it get destroyed," she said, her voice firm. And it was true. She was going to give it her all to protect this world.

"What do you know about Titans?" Hange asked. "I know that the first titan was called Ymir, who was a slave for the Eldian King at the time. Because of how strong she was, she was able to conquer the other nations which posed as a threat to Eldia. As such, the king married her and they had three daughters who inherited Ymir's titan powers. From them came the other Nine Titans. I also know about the Curse of Ymir where titan shifters get to live only thirteen years before they die. Plus you'd have to eat a Titan if you want to inherit its powers. During my stay in Marley, I did a little snooping around to get a better scope of what was happening. The Marleyians are responsible for the attacks which happened here some five years ago because of what happened some eight centuries ago. It's an act of revenge plus they also want to control the world using Titans as such they want the powers of the Founding Titan," she finished as she leaned back in her seat. Her back was starting to hurt even more.

"Do they know who's the Founding Titan?" Armin asked. "They suspect it's Eren," Sakura replied.

There were more discussions between Hange, Armin and Levi. Sakura took her time to study Eren. He wasn't looking at her but she was sure he could feel her looking at him. He was also pointedly ignoring Mikasa who was trying to get his attention but the titan shifter remained staring blanky ahead. Her gaze then shifted to Gabi who cursing quietly judging by how she moved her lips.

"How do we know we can trust you?" It was Levi who spoke this time.

"I don't know how to prove myself. You already know what I know, perhaps even more. But we all have the same goal, to stop humanity from going extinct. I'm willing to offer all my knowledge and skills, in return you provide me a place to stay. Perhaps if you trust me enough, we can work together to save humanity. I know that everything I said seems unbelievable but believe me, I'm not lying. The choice is yours to make, whether you want my cooperation or not," she finished, her hands clasped in front of her and shoulders straight.

"Before we make any solid decisions, we'd first like to know the extent of your abilities as a combat medic. We'll meet again in two hours. Be prepared to undo whatever sorcery you performed on Sasha Blouse, we need our cadet wherever you put her," Hange spoke. "Thank you," she said. They all stood up and began to file out of the room. She stoop up as well, watching each of them as they left. She felt cool fingers brush briefly on hers. She schooled her features into a neutral expression, wondering if she had imagined Eren brushing his fingers against hers.

She was brought bank to the land of the living when another set of cuffs found their way around her wrists. She was escorted back to her cell.

"So, what do you think about her?" Hange asked as she took a seat behind her desk. "From what I've observed, she doesn't seem to be lying. Plus given that she clearly revealed herself to us, I don't think she'd be working against us," Armin spoke. The Commander looked at Armin, noticing the way he held himself in confidence. He had grown from a weak-willed teenager to one of the youngest and best strategists humanity had ever seen. She trusted his judgement as much as she trusted Erwin's. "What about you Levi?" She turned to the Squad Leader. "Seems to me that she wasn't lying but she wasn't telling us the full story either," he told her.

"Did the test results from the lab arrive?" Armin asked her. She nodded, taking a blue folder from one of her drawers. She put threw onto the table with the blonde adult taking it and running his eyes over it briefly but he had gotten what he wanted. "So she was injected with titan spinal fluid after all," he concluded as he placed the folder back onto the desk. "We found a bullet lodged in her right arm, it was made of glass and probably contained the spinal fluid. It's a surprise she hasn't transformed yet," Hange commender with a barely concealed yawn. Fatigue due to the past two weeks was starting to catch up to her.

"Judging from the way she holds herself and how she was trained as a soldier, I don't think she'll be transforming anytime soon," Armin added. "What about her pregnancy?" Hange asked. "She seems to be aware. Her hand was on her stomach most of the time plus her bulge was visible," Levi spoke. "My guesses are the reason why she wants to know about Titans has to do with her pregnancy. She might have some questions which she doesn't have answers. She confirmed that she didn't find answers in Marley that's why she came here," Hange commented. The three were quiet as they mulled over their findings.

"What should we do about her?" Armin finally asked. "Let's keep her around. She might be of use to us as we might be of use to her. But we'll need someone to spy on her at all times and report to only the three of us," Levi said. "And who should do that?" Hange asked. "I was thinking of that troublesome brat Eren but he doesn't seem like he's going to go along with it. Maybe if we find Sasha, we can use her to get closer to the girl," the Squad Leader suggested. "I was thinking of Mikasa-" "No, that's a terrible idea," Hange said, cutting Armin mid-sentence. "She would have made the perfect candidate but she seems to have a grudge against the girl, she was glaring at her the entire time. It probably has something to do with Eren having been treated by her when he was in Marley. We don't need biased information plus it would only serve to destroy the friendship we would've tried to built," the bespectacled woman explained.

Hange sighed as she removed her glasses and rubbed a hand over her eyes. "You've been pushing yourself too far," Levi commented. "Don't act like you haven't slept since last month. Your lamp is always up during the night," she shot back as she stifled a yawn. "I'm going to get a quick power nap. Wake me up when you're done with your interrogations," she said as she folded her arms on top of her desk and promptly fell asleep.
