Chapter 7: Shocking News

Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. Sorry about the wait but life was making things REALLY hard for me to find time to update. Thank you all for your patience and I hope you like what I have planned. With the new DC trailers coming out I was inspired to make a fun addition to this story. Please Review and Enjoy

It was early in the morning as Jaden was racing into the Daily Chronicle. Making his way to the top floor he saw all the employees gathered together.

"Jaden." A voice calls out.

Looking over he saw Lois waving to him.

"Hey what's going on?" Jaden asks walking over.

"No idea, Perry's keeping everyone in the dark. Got some big announcement." Lois said.

"Alright everyone listen up!" Chief said getting everyone's attention. "Alright for the past few weeks, we've gotten a big climb in paper sales and the Daily Chronicle is rising in the ratings."

Hearing this everyone cheered.

"Yes. Yes, it's all good to know, but sadly there's only one reason why." Gesturing to a board he pulls back the projection board to reveal SPIDER-MAN in capital letters. "Spider-Man. I don't know who this guy is but he's all the city is talking about. This is why I am offering a chance to any team in this company. Whoever gets me a solid story and pictures of him will receive exclusive rights to covering all Spider-Man stories and a raise."

Needless to say, this got everyone's attention.

"Well, what are you waiting for? We got stories to write. Get to work." Perry orders as everyone dispersed.

"You and I gotta get that deal Jaden. Covering a hero over all the other boring stuff? You can't get a better deal than that." Lois said.

"Well I can try to get you some more pictures but to get a story we got find him the next time he tries to stop a crime." Jaden said.

"You leave that to me. I'll focus on the story you focus on the pictures." Lois said.

"Alright." Jaden said as Lois examined Jaden in his Luna Nova uniform.

"So this is what your new school makes you wear?" Lois smirks.

"Uh yeah on my way to class after this." Jaden said.

"Well you might want to fix that tie of yours." Lois said gesturing to it.

"Huh?" Jaden said looking to see it was crooked. "Ugh I need to figure this out."

"Don't worry I got ya." Getting up Lois straightens his tie for him.

"Thanks Lois. Love to stick around but I gotta go." Jaden said.

"Keep your eyes open for Spider-Man. I want a good photo." Lois calls out.

As Jaden walks out he raises his hand giving her a thumbs up, Perry walks over.

"You're aiming high Lois." He smirks.

"Only place to aim Chief." Lois smirks.

When one reporter turns on the radio a chat comes on.

"Wake up Bellbridge! Oh yeah the Livewire is back one the air! Your mistress of the airwaves Leslie Willis is back!" A female voice said.

"Ugh her again?" Lois groans. "How can you guys listen to her?"

"Hey you can chase weirdos in masks all you want Lois but she is news." Another reporter said.

"Yeah the bad kind." Lois said.

"Didn't a few of her messages cause a few riots?" Chief asks.

"Yep and now the police are keeping a really close watch on her. It's like they have her on parole." Lois said.

"So these stupid Doughnut Eaters think they can censor my shows but let me tell you folks nothing can silence me! And the prove it tonight is my 3rd Anniversary! There will be special guests, surprises and good times." Leslie said before the radio was turned off.

Zooming out we find ourselves at the Police Station where Commissioner Gordon was turning off the radio.

"Yeah good times for no one." He groans as Barbara walks in.

"Here you go dad." She said giving him a mug of coffee.

"Thanks sweetie." He said taking the drink.

"So uh any word on how Pam's doing?" Barbara asks.

"You mean Poison Ivy?" Gordon corrects.

"No I mean Pam. You know the girl who used to be my best friend until she turned into a monster." Barbara corrects.

"Sorry Barb but after that incident, she's been kept under special watch. We even have OSCORP build special tech so she can't use her powers while contained." Gordon said.

"You think she'll ever be herself again?" Barbara asks.

"No idea." Gordon said making her frown. "Well don't look at it like this. Look at this as a way to make some new friends. Friends who won't get you in trouble with the police. Or get you arrested." He said trying to cheer her up.

"If you're still worried about me going on a criminal path Dad you should remember I was set on becoming a detective until someone got me a Mustached Eastern European Gym Coach so I could go for the gold." Barbara reminds.

"Barb, Law Enforcement is dangerous work. I don't want this life for you." He said defensively.

"Is that why you signed me up for this Student Work Program?" She raises an eyebrow.

Her dad was about to answer when he heard a knock at the door.

"Come in." He calls out.

Walking in we see an Asian-American woman with black hair in a ponytail, brown eyes and a red jacket over a black shirt and pants. This was Detective Ellen Yin.

"Commissioner you wanted to see me…" Pausing Ellen saw Barbara in the chair. "Oh sorry am I interrupting something?"

"You're fine Detective, Barb needs to get to school anyway." Gordon points.

Taking the hint Barbara got up. "See you at home dad." She said before walking out.

Groaning Gordon rubs his head and sips his coffee.

"Kid troubles?" Ellen asks.

"I'm trying to be a good parent to her but she always wants to do her own thing." Gordon sighs.

"She's a teenager and her best friend is in jail. I think you can cut her a break." Ellen points out. "So what did you want to see me about?"

"Tonight is Leslie Willis' big show and every year she's done this riots have broken out. I want you and a small squad up backstage in case she starts riling people up." Gordon orders.

"On it." Ellen said leaving the room.

"Well that's one problem. Now I need to figure out the other one." Looking to a board we see a newspaper with Spider-Man on the front hanging on it.

A few hours later at Luna Nova, we find a magic class going on with Prof. Finnelan giving the class a lecture.

"Now class remember each spell has a different wand style and you must make sure to correctly cast the spell in correspondence to what you want to do. Like so." Waving her wand, Finnelan created a gust of blowing out several candles.

While the class was in awe nobody noticed a small camera hanging by a web in the top corner of the room.

Zooming in we see Jaden in an empty room watching the class on his laptop.

"Okay so I know the wind spell is a lot more flexible than the others but I guess that makes sense." Jaden said fixing his stance.

Firing a web, Jaden adds the wind to it making it shoot all the way across the room within seconds.

"Oh man speed webs. This is perfect." Jaden grins.

As the class continued, we see Diana cast a lightning bolt with expert precision.

"Impressive work Diana." Finnelan smiles still playing favorites.

Nearby Amanda was watching this with an annoyed look as everyone praised her.

"Big deal. It's not that good." She scoffs.

A few tables down Akko and Lotte were practicing.

"Come on! Come on!" Akko said waving her wand but nothing was happening.

When Lotte waved her wand a few sparks came out but that was it.

"Come on! Give me some lightning already!" Akko said waving her wand frustrated but ends up shocking herself.

As she collapses into her chair the class snickers at her.

Groaning Akko looks to see Finnelan approach her.

"It seems Ms. Kagari was able to point out that magic also responds to the user's emotions. And depending on how you tackle this issue will also determine the magic that you can unlock." Finnelan scolds.

Frowning Jaden couldn't help but feel sorry for his friend.

"I know you're trying Akko believe me learning magic is not easy." Jaden said knowing what she was going through.

Taking a stance he fired webs but this time he tried a new way to power them up.

As sparks emitted from his hands, they traveled along the webs when suddenly the door opened.

Panicking Jaden quickly called it off, but the attack hit the wall.

"Oh no!" Running to it Jaden covered it up with his body as the door opened revealing Otto with a cooler.

"Jaden?" Otto said surprised to see him.

"Uh what are you doing here?" Jaden asks confused.

"Oh I store some of my extra parts in this room. Don't want too much tech cluttering things up. What are you doing in here?" Otto asks.

"Uh working on a little independent studying." Jaden said nervously.

"Really? Maybe I can help." Otto said moving closer.

"Uh that's okay. Really. I got this." Jaden said trying to block his view.

"Jaden what are you up—" Before he could finish Otto saw the magical blast and the sparks on the floor.

"Listen this isn't what it looks like." Jaden said quickly when the class ended.

"Alright class now remember to review your notes. I want to see results by next week." Finnelan's voice echoed making Jaden cringe.

"Jaden…I don't believe it." Otto said.

"Doc please let me explain." Jaden starts.

"It's so obvious. Jaden you're magical." Otto said.

Pausing Jaden realized this might be the best option to avoid losing his cover.

"Yes that's what it was." Jaden said.

"But I don't understand. If you have these powers why won't you be in the regular classes? Why the computer and all the sneaking around?" Otto asks.

"Well uh being the only boy in a school where nothing but girls can do magic is a little stressful and I already feel out of place just as a student worker." Jaden said.

"Yes. I suppose this school does have a way of making you feel that way." Otto said walking over and putting a hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry your secret is safe with me."

"Really?" Jaden asks.

"Cooper, one thing I truly believe is that everyone should have the right to a good education. And I won't let this school deprive you of that. I'll leave you to your little training. Just make sure to bring that magic knowledge to Alchemy class." Otto smiles.

"Count on it Doc." Jaden nods.

As he walked out of the room, Jaden couldn't help feel a little relieved. Not only did he have a place to train but he actually had someone he could trust.

"Wish the world had more people like Otto." Jaden smiles.

Closing his laptop, Jaden decided to go get some lunch.

In the cafeteria, all the students and student workers were eating their lunches.

"Alright keep the line moving." Nathaniel said handing out lunches.

"Hey Nathaniel." Iris said walking up.

"Hey Iris." He smiles happy to see her.

"So what looks good on the menu today?" She asks.

"Well as it just so happens, we're serving your favorite today." Nathaniel said handing her a tray.

"You're the best." Iris smiles taking it.

"Enjoy." He said as she walked away.

Making her way to a table, Iris passed by Amanda who along with Akko was looking for a table.

"Can you believe Finnelan? Acting like Diana was her only student? She barely even acknowledged me." Amanda said.

"She noticed me. At least enough to scold me." Akko points out.

"I am so sick of everyone treating Diana like she's the greatest thing to come into this school." Amanda said.

"Yeah well she's no Spider-Man." Akko mumbles.

"Alright what is it with you and this Spider-Man? What's so great about him?" Amanda asks.

"What? He's just amazing okay. He looks out for everyone and he's inspiring. He makes you want to be a better person. Plus he's a huge Shiny Chariot fan and that just makes him even better." Akko smiles.

"Whatever. I'll believe it when I see it." Amanda said walking away.

Making her way to one table Akko sat down across from a blonde-haired boy with a muscular build and a Student Worker badge.

"Hey can me and my friends sit here?" Akko asks as he looks up.

"Not at all." He said as Akko sat down.

Looking around for Sucy and Lotte she signalled for them to join her.

"Hello there." The boy waves.

"Hi uh I'm Lotte." Lotte said as they sat down.

"I'm Akko and that's Sucy." Akko introduced.

"Danny. Danny Rand. It's a pleasure to meet you three." He said softly bowing his head.

"Whoa easy you don't need to bow to us. We're not that fancy." Lotte assures.

"I kinda like it." Sucy smirks.

"Where I come from bowing is a sign of respect you show to others." Danny said.

"Oh well thank you." Akko said as they started to eat. "So Danny I haven't seen you around much."

"Probably just different schedules. But I like to focus on the tasks given to me before having fun. Never put off until tomorrow what can be done today." Danny said.

"Wise words. You should listen to them Akko." Sucy smirks.

"Hey I don't put off work…well not all the time at least." Akko said embarrassed.

Entering the room we see Barbara holding her tray. As much as she hated to admit it, her dad did have a point. She could use some more friends.

Looking around she saw everyone pretty much had their own areas picked out and sitting with their friends.

Spotting one table she noticed Amanda was sitting all by herself.

"Hey is this seat taken?" Barbara asks walking over.

"No." Amanda said as Barbara pulled it out. "But I'm not really looking for company."

"Well I'm not looking to eat my lunch on the floor." Barbara said sitting down. "Are you always snippy?"

"Call it a habit. Not like anyone cares." Amanda said.

"Try me." Barbara said.

"I'm just so sick of this. Just because she's a faster learner than all of us everyone chooses to focus on Diana. Like she's the Golden Girl. Unless it's flying no one even notices me." Amanda said.

"Try being a student worker. I don't think they remember my name." Barbara said.

"I know you. You're that Barbara girl. Your friend Pam turned into a plant girl and went crazy or something right?" Amanda recalls.

"Well at least you remember me for something." She shrugs.

"You know on my way to this school I passed through that city on the other side of that portal. What's it like on the other side?" Amanda asks.

"It's pretty cool." Barbara said before remembering something. "You know Amanda there's a cool show tonight back home. I don't know if you get a signal but this girl Leslie Willis has a big celebration going on. Rock music, performers, and I happen to have some tickets."

Needless to say, this got her attention.

"Rock music? Now we're talking. How did you get those?" Amanda asks interested.

"My dad and a few cops are working security. And I might have held onto the tickets before he could shred them." Barbara said.

"I guess a change of scenery could be good. You can show me around." Amanda said.

"Just be sure to leave your broomstick here." Barbara smirks.

"You know you're alright Barbara." Amanda said.

As Jaden made his way to the cafeteria, the door opens revealing multiple bags of trash.

"Whoa! Sorry heavy load coming through!" On the other side of the bags a male voice calls out but a few bags began to wobble.

"Whoa!" Jaden said stumbling back avoiding them.

"Oh man." Popping his head out we see a teenage Mexican boy with black hair and a student worker uniform. "Are you okay? You didn't get hit did you?"

"No lucky it missed." Jaden said picking it the bags up.

"Oh hey another one of us Workers." He smiles walking over.

"Stuck on trash duty? That's gotta suck." Jaden said.

"Meh I've done a lot of cleaning before. My name's Jaimie by the way. Jaimie Reyes." He said adjusting the pile.

"Jaden." Jaden introduced.

"Hey Jaden I know it's lunchtime but can you give me a hand? I can't get my lunch until I take all these out." Jaimie asks.

"Sure I can spare a few minutes, but I should warn you I don't have the best upper body strength." Jaden warns.

"It's trash not barbells. You'll be fine." Jaimie chuckles as the two went to dispose of it.

"So Jaimie why did you come to Luna Nova?" Jaden asks.

"Oh let's just have I a keen interest in magical artifacts." Jaimie said before pausing. "Shut up. You have it coming." He mutters.

"Uh I have what coming?" Jaden asks confused.

"No uh my bad I tend to talk to myself from time to time." Jaimie said nervously.

"Sounds more like you're arguing with yourself." Jaden points out.

"Well if I'm not tough on myself who will?" Jaimie asks.

"Fair enough. Come on let's get this over with. I'm hungry." Jaden said as the two of them walked down the hall.

As our view turns to the window we see storm clouds in the distance.

Hours later, we see the rain coming down over a big crowd in front of a big stage as tons of performances were going on.

And needless to say, the crowd was going wild.

"Geez I think the riots are more organized than this." Lois said.

In the back, Barbara and Amanda were watching this in shock.

"Oh man I should come here more often. This side knows how to have fun." Amanda smiles.

"Believe me it's not always this crazy but when it is." Barbara said.

As the rain came down on the lights sparks of electricity shot out every so often but not a single person was paying attention to that.

Swinging from the rooftops, Spider-Man lands across from the venue.

"Oh man things are starting to get ugly." Spider-Man said when the sound of police sirens echoed.

As the police stepped out we see Ellen Yin alongside her squad.

Backstage we see a woman with black hair and glasses arguing with her manager. This was Leslie Willis.

"Shut it down?! With the whole city watching?! Are you crazy?!" Leslie snaps.

"But Les the police are saying it's too dangerous. The storm." He stutters.

"Listen Sid I've worked my entire life for this and a little rain isn't going to stop me." She said before taking the mic and walking out on stage. "What up Bellbridge?!"

Hearing her the crowd cheered loudly.

But unfortunately, the cops made their way onto the stage much to Barbara's horror.

"Uh oh, she was with my dad this morning. I can't let her see me." Barbara gulps.

"What? What's wrong?" Amanda asks.

"My dad kinda doesn't know I'm here." Barbara admits.

"And yet you came here anyway? Oh boy." Amanda cringed.

"Come on let's sneak out before things get too crazy." Barbara said as they made their way to the back.

"It seems we have a problem people. The authorities want to shut this party down." Leslie said and the crowd immediately booed them all and started throwing stuff at them.

"And now it's getting ugly." Lois said.

"Ms. Willis this is getting out of hand. We are asking you to stop this now before anyone gets hurt." Ellen said.

"Oh you hear that everyone? The big bad police girl is trying to tell me what to do!" Leslie said as thunder echoed and lightning flashed. "Now you listen here Doughnut Muncher. I'm the Ringmaster of this circus and I tell these clowns what to do. Not the papers and not you losers. Do you think I'm scared of you? Hardly. You can't even catch some masked loser that swings around this city like his own personal playground."

"We're not dealing with Spider-Man we're dealing with you." Ellen said.

"Well do us all a favor and get lost!" Leslie said as lightning struck the stage causing the crowd to panic.

As a bolt hit the L on her sign it fell towards the ground when suddenly a web shot out and grabbed it.

Looking up everyone saw Spider-Man swinging in. Firing multiple webs Spider-Man tried to secure the rest of the sign so nothing else came down.

"Alright people sorry to break it to you but this party is officially over!" Spider-Man calls out.

Seeing him Lois grins. "Oh now we got a story. Man I can't believe Jaden is missing this."

"Oh great the bugboy." Leslie said turning to Ellen. "I get it you coppers hired him to bring me down didn't you?"

"We didn't do anything." Ellen said.

"Yeah sure. You know something you and your whole police force are nothing but Grade A pieces of Human Sh—" Before Leslie could finish lightning struck the equipment and the shock traveled down a web and zapped her causing her to scream in pain.

But thanks to the magic from Spidey's webs something happened to her. The blast caused her skin to turn pale white and hair turned blue and pointy.

"Oh boy that's not good! Someone call an ambulance!" Spider-Man said when Ellen and the police approached him with guns pointed. "Really? This again."

"Spider-Man you're coming with us." Ellen said.

"Yeah, uh as much as I would like to my schedule is really packed. Let me pencil you in and see where I can find the time." Spider-Man said before firing a web and swinging away.

And luckily Barbara and Amanda had managed to get away before they were caught too.

At a coffee shop, the two of them sat down.

"Well that was a mess." Amanda said as Barbara put two cups down for them.

"I'm sorry I dragged you into this. This wasn't what I had hoped would happen." Barbara sighs.

"Why did you want to hang out with me?" Amanda asks.

"Well look not many witches at Luna Nova even think us Student workers are worth anything. And aside from a few others, I don't have many friends at this school. People don't exactly pay much attention to me." Barbara said.

"I know what that's like. It's always Diana who everyone loves." Amanda scoffs.

"Well if you ask me I think that girl has her nose a little too high in the air." Barbara said making her snicker.

"Are you kidding it's so high up if it rained, she'd drown." Amanda said as they both laughed. "You're alright Barbara."

"You're not too bad yourself Amanda." She said. "Hey what do you say when this rain dies down we grab a bite to eat before heading back to the gate?"

"Best idea I've heard all day." Amanda said sitting back in her chair.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, we see the rain had stopped and Leslie was in her room watching an interview.

"Commissioner Gordon, what is the condition of Ms. Leslie Willis?" A reporter asks.

"She'll live. By some miracle that lightning didn't even hurt her." Gordon answered.

"How come your police didn't push her out of the way?" One asks.

"There was no time." He shook his head.

"Really? I heard she said a lot of horrible things about your Police force commissioner. Maybe it was there way of getting her back." The reporter accuses.

"My force does not lower themselves to that. We tried to help her we did. But the fact is Leslie wouldn't listen to us and that's why she's here." Gordon declares.

"My fault?! Look at me! If you jerks thought I was mean to you before—" Grabbing a radio Leslie yanked it out to throw at the TV but for some reason, it turned on. "How the?" Looking at the plug electricity suddenly shot out of it and all the devices around her.

As it flowed through her body Leslie looked to the TV curiously. Holding out her hands a concentrated blast shot out destroying the TV.

"Oh yeah I like where this is going." Leslie grins as an alarm went off.

When the employees ran to her room they were shocked to see she was gone.

Traveling through the wires, Leslie appeared atop the hospital.

"With this kind of power, I could rule the whole city." Leslie said before seeing a police car in the distance. "But first. Time for a little payback."

As a bright light engulfs her Leslie's outfit began to change.

At the police station, we see Lois talking to some of the cops about the incident.

"Look we've told you, again and again, we don't know how it happened." A cop said.

"This doesn't add up. Lightning doesn't change people's skin and hair. The doctors said she wasn't even hurt. There has to be something missing and you guys were on the scene." Lois said.

"Why don't you try finding that Spider-Guy? He was there." He mocks.

"Believe me if I could talk to Spider-Man I would but you boneheads scared him off before I could get an interview." Lois scolds when the door opens revealing Gordon and Ellen Yin.

"Alright you've been here long enough. No more questions." Gordon said.

"Fine. Clearly, I'm not gonna get my scoop here of all places." Lois said.

As she was about to leave a loud explosion went off at the front door startling everyone.

"You were saying?!" Ellen said as Leslie floated in.

She was wearing a black leotard-based outfit with a cut down her chest to resemble a lightning bolt, blue gloves and black stockings.

"Hey coppers. Remember me?" She grins.

"Leslie Willis?" Gordon said surprised.

"Not anymore. Leslie Willis was a girl you dumb pigs thought you could control but now I'm a new person. I'm Livewire!" She declares firing electricity everywhere. "And once I deal with all you this city is gonna be all mine to control. Can you imagine how much people would pay me to keep the lights on in this city?"

"You're insane!" Gordon said.

"You're just realizing this now? Oh I am gonna enjoy this." She said raising her hand and electricity forms.

Sitting on a rooftop, Spider-Man was looking at the photos he took but the lens was wet from the rain.

"Man I can't give Lois these pictures." Spider-Man said wiping the lens dry. "I'll need something clearer if we're gonna get a good photo."

"Attention all units! The Police Station is under attack! All Units respond!" The police scanner on Jaden's phone went off.

"Damn I know some people don't like cops but this is nuts." Spider-Man said getting up.

Grabbing his stuff Spider-Man swung out towards the Station to help them.

Little did he know Barbara had heard the same thing on hers.

"What was that?" Amanda asks.

"I might also know a few Police Scanner channels. This is how I contacted Spider-Man about Pam." Barbara said.

"Man you have got some serious layers." Amanda said.

"Look go that way and get back to the gate I gotta go make sure my dad is okay." Barbara said about to run off.

"Hold on." Amanda said grabbing her shoulder. "You expect me to run when there's action nearby? You clearly don't know me that well." She smirks.

Smirking Barbara nodded as the two ran out.

Back at the police station, Livewire was like a kid in the candy store destroying the place.

"What's the matter? Scared to fight back against someone better than you?" Livewire cackles.

As the cops tried shooting at her Livewire turned to energy and dodges all the attacks.

Firing bolts of electricity she fried their guns before blasting them out the big hole at the front.

Landing against the road Gordon cringed in pain.

"Maybe next time you idiots will mind your own business. Too bad their won't be a next time."

Taking out her gun Ellen fires at Livewire getting her attention.

"Cute but not enough." Livewire said firing a blast a nearby police car sending it flying toward Ellen.

Bracing herself for impact Spider-Man suddenly leaps in and catches the car just before it hit her.

Looking up in awe, Ellen did not expect this.

"How did you?" She asks in disbelief.

"I am so glad you're not one of those cops who rides a horse." Spider-Man said before putting the car down. "Listen tell everyone to get to cover. And grab me anything that's rubber."

"Rubber?" Ellen said confused.

"Rubber doesn't conduct electricity. Doesn't anyone pay attention in science class?"

Leaping up onto the car, Spider-Man stared Livewire down.

"Yo Sparkles!" Spider-Man calls out getting her attention.

"You again?" Livewire glares.

"Oh great you know me. But uh sadly I can't say the same for you." Spider-Man said.

"Really? You can't remember me?" She said landing across from him.

"Sorry. Can't say I do." Spider-Man shrugs.

"You never listened to my show? It's on every morning, noon and night." Livewire said.

"Oh now I recognize you. You had that concert earlier during the rain." Spider-man recalls. "Yeah I prefer The Daily Show."

"WHAT?!" Beyond pissed electricity shot out of Livewire. "Get ready to meet the Bug Zapper!"

Firing blasts at him, Spider-Man leaps out of the way.

"Wow, you are such a hypocrite. You bash people every day but the second someone bashes you back you lash out." Spider-Man mocks jumping around and dodging each one. "Guess you can't take what you dish out."

As Lois popped her head out she saw the battle unfold.

"Oh man Jaden is not gonna believe this." Lois said sending him a message.

But while she was distracted a blast flew over her hitting the ceiling.

Panicking Lois was about to be crushed when at the last second Spider-Man swung in and grabbed her.

"Whoa!" She said startled.

"Hang on tight!" Spider-Man said swinging her outside the building and across the street.

Putting her down Lois wobbled a little.

"Well that was a crazy feeling." Lois said getting a feeling in her legs again.

"Sorry to do this to you but I think you keep your distance from this Lois." Spider-Man advises.

"How do you know my name?" Lois asks surprised.

"I've read your articles. Plus I saved you earlier back at that bank robbery a few weeks ago. Anyway, gotta go there's a bad guy to stop." Firing a web Spider-Man swung back to the Police Station.

"He remembers me? Wow." Lois said not expecting this.

Across the street from the opposite angle Barbara and Amanda arrived to see the fight and Commissioner Gordon on the ground in pain.

"Dad!" Barbara gasps getting his attention.

Looking up Gordon saw his daughter nearby and instantly he was terrified.

"Barb run!" He yells.

"Aw what's this? You brought your kid to work?" Livewire smirks.

She was about attack them when suddenly a web wrapped around her arm.

"Sorry we're not done here!" Spider-Man said yanking her towards him.

Swinging his arm back Spider-Man punches Livewire in the face making her bang against the wall.

"Whoa? Spider-Man." Barbara grins seeing him up close for the first time.

"That's Spider-Man?" Amanda said in disbelief.

Shaking off the attack Livewire fires multiple bolts of electricity at him but Spider-Man leaped and dodged the attacks.

Looking up Amanda saw him swing and flip through the air even better than she was on her broom.

"Whoa." Amanda said amazed.

Creating a ball of light Spider-Man throws it Livewire which when getting close exploded temporarily blinding her.

Using his new speed webs, they shot across hitting Livewire before she could recover. Flinging himself forward Spider-Man slams into Livewire knocking her to the ground.

"He's awesome." Barbara grins.

"You ready to give up?" Spider-Man asks and Livewire shoots at him forcing him to dodge. "Whoa! You could have just said no!"

Swinging her arm, Livewire flung a whip of electricity at him but Spider-Man bobbed and weaved dodging it.

"You know Livewire you really have a face for radio anyone ever tell you that?" Spider-Man asks.

"Oh thanks I…" Pausing Livewire just realized that wasn't a compliment. "Oh you think you're so funny?"

"I like to think so." Spider-Man chuckles.

"Well see if this is funny." Slamming her foot down sparks shot out of the ground forcing Spider-Man to jump.

Using this chance Livewire blasts him dead center sending him flying into the station.

Crashing into the furniture Spider-Man bangs against the wall just as Ellen ran in.

"Ugh, Officer I'd like to report a Noise complaint. This obnoxious former Radio head is really becoming a pain." Spider-Man groans looking at her.

"Sadly she's not making it easy to arrest her." Ellen said.

"Did you find anything rubber?" Spider-Man asks as she held out a pair of rubber gloves. "That'll do."

Getting up, Spider-Man put them on his hands.

"Okay let's do this." Pumping himself up Spider-Man ran back out to face her.

"You can't stop me Spider-Man. Once I wipe these cops off the map all of Bellbridge will give me whatever they want in exchange for electricity. I won't be a ringmaster anymore. I'll be like a god to these people." Livewire grins when Spider-Man noticed a fire hydrant right behind her.

"A god named Sparkles?" Spider-Man mocks.

Firing electricity at him, Spider-Man leaps forward and tackles Livewire forcing her onto the road.

"Gotcha now!" Spider-Man said.

Livewire tries to phase out of his grip but for some reason couldn't.

"What in the? What are you?" Livewire asks.

"Sorry Livewire not escaping this. Not as long as I'm holding you." Spider-Man said revealing his gloves.

Before she could react Spider-Man pushed her across the street making her smash against the hydrant.

"Lights out Livewire!" Delivering a powerful kick, Spider-Man kicks Livewire into the hydrant causing the top to break and blast her with water dead center.

Screaming in agony Livewire was being zapped by her own powers before exploding.

Slowly coming out of hiding everyone watched as Livewire collapsed to the ground unconscious.

"He did it? He beat her." Amanda said in awe.

As the police slowly approached them, Spider-Man took off the gloves.

"She's all yours officers." Spider-Man said as they all took out their guns. "Ugh seriously? Is this your new way of saying hi? Because I am not feeling welcome by this."

"You've caused quite a bit of damage tonight Spider-Man." Gordon said walking over.

"Dad please he saved your lives." Barbara calls out.

"Dad?" Spider-Man said softly.

"Barb stay back. He could be dangerous." Gordon warns.

"Look you have to know I'm not your enemy. I'm on your side." Spider-Man said defensively.

"Then why won't you come with us?" Gordon asks.

"It's complicated." Spider-Man said.

"You're not exactly helping your case." Gordon said.

Under the mask, Spider-Man was nervous. He really didn't want to have the police as an enemy but he needed to get away from this ASAP.

Suddenly his arms glowed faintly reacting to him and his hands began to disappear surprising everyone.

Before anyone could react Spider-Man appeared to have disappeared right in front of them.

"Where'd he go?" The police ask looking around in every direction.

'What in the?' Confused Spider-Man realized nobody could see him. Pausing he remembered the lecture Finnelan gave earlier.

"Magic also responds to the user's emotions. And depending on how you tackle this issue will also determine the magic that you can unlock." Finnelan's words echoed in his mind.

Jaden's magic knew he had to get away and it came up with a way to help him.

Seeing this was his best chance Spider-Man made his escape.

As he snuck away Gordon looks to see Ellen walking up behind him.

"Commissioner?" She asks.

"Detective, I got a new assignment for you. I want you to focus all your attention on Spider-Man. Find out everything you can about him and whether we can call him a hero or a menace?" Gordon declares.

"Consider it done." Ellen nods accepting the task.

"And as for you two." Gordon said as Barbara and Amanda gulped. "Why don't I drop you both home? I think we've had enough fun for one night."

Slowly nodding the two teenage girls thought it was for the best.

Arriving back at his home, Spider-Man became visible again before sneaking in through the window and immediately Jaden took off his mask.

"Oh my god. I can't believe I can turn invisible. Oh man this is gonna make sneaking around so much easier." Jaden smiles making his hand disappear and reappear. "Well at least my clothes disappear with it. What can I do with this skill?"

Pausing Jaden considered his options but after a few seconds Jaden's eyes widen and he immediately slaps himself in the face.

"No! No! Get that thought out of your head Jaden. You are not going to be a cliché guy with invisibility powers! Absolutely not!" Jaden said snapping himself out of it.

"Jaden is everything alright?" Maya's voice calls out.

"Uh yeah mom! Everything's fine." Jaden said taking off his suit and looking at the pictures. 'Well looks like Lois and I might win that spot after all.'

The next day we see the Daily Chronicle that read Spider-Man vs Livewire with a big picture of their fight on the front cover.

"To our new promotion." Zooming out we see Lois and Jaden clink glasses.

"And to Spider-Man." Jaden smiles.

"How did you get such a good picture?" Lois asks.

"I had to sneak around quite a bit to get it but I heard you had to go through quite a bit to get your story." Jaden said.

"Let me tell you I was holding onto him for life when he swung me to safety." Lois said.

"That must have been terrifying." Jaden said.

"Actually it wasn't as bad. Anyway Jaden I think we got a good thing going here. I'll keep my eyes open at the Chronicle and whenever I see something big I'll send you the spot so you can get me those pictures." Lois offers.

"Sounds like a plan. But let's try to avoid as much trouble as we can. I don't wanna keep learning you're in hostage situations or being chased by a supervillain." Jaden said.

"Don't you worry about me Jaden I'm tougher than I look." Lois smirks.

"Well then partners?" Jaden asks raising his glass one more time.

"Partners." Lois said as they clinked their glasses.
