Elden Remnants

An: Ok, so I'm utterly addicted to Elden Ring at this point. Finally reached the Endgame and am just exploring before I trigger the final few boss fights to get things I missed and/or completing some sidequests here and there. And, as usual, I've been plagued with a few story ideas with the impressive game. This is one of two Elden Ring/RWBY stories that I plan on posting this year.

Mainly because Elden Ring is dominating my brain at the moment, and I need to satiate my desire to write an Elden Ring story so I can focus back on my other ones…hopefully. Anyways! I hope you guys all enjoy this little prologue I've written.

Disclaimer: I do not own Elden Ring or RWBY.

ROAR!

"Howling at the sky."

Ruby Rose was moping. Of course, she'd end up with the one person who hated her as a partner. Some luck she was having! Why couldn't she have found Yang? Or even Jaune would have been better.

Anyone but the snobbish princess!

Ruby sat on a rock as Weiss paced in front of her. She swung her leg around in boredom as Weiss tried to figure out which way they needed to go. As she continued to listen to Weiss ramble on, the two were suddenly thrown to the ground with a scream when the earth around them trembled, sending trees flying into the air, and stones to be rent around them.

"W-What the heck was that…?!" Ruby stuttered out in shock.

"Ugh…" Weiss groaned and placed a hand on her head to steady herself. "What the hell…" Weiss opened her eyes and glared at a stump. "When does Vale have earthquakes like that?"

"Never. At least, it's never had one since I've been alive," Ruby said as she shakily got to her feet. With a pained groan, she finally managed to get back up, only to gasp at the sight before her. Weiss finally stood as well and noticed this.

"Ruby?" she asked, only to gasp as she too looked towards where Ruby was and saw what could only be described as devastation. What Ruby and she were looking at was a gigantic crater! "What the hell?!" Weiss screamed. "A meteor strike?!" Ruby had been quiet since catching sight of crater, but her eyes quickly caught sight of something else: something that should not have been there.

"No! There! Look!" the silver eyed girl cried out, pointing to the center of the hole. Weiss looked and gasped.

"A person?!"

"Quick! They might be hurt! Follow me!" Ruby quickly turned into rose petals and flew towards the person. Weiss created a Glyph underneath herself and propelled her forward as well. They reached the center of the crater and stared at what was, indeed, a person. The two young ladies were shocked as they observed a tall red-haired young man around their age lying on his back. The remnants of what looked like tarnished gold and black armor littered the ground around them, revealing his well-toned chest to the open air.

Ruby, however, grew concerned that the boy in front of her was dead, so she ran up and knelt at his side. "H-Hey! Are you ok?! Wake up!" she called out, lightly shaking his shoulders.

Weiss also knelt down the downed teen. She placed two fingers at his neck and announced, "He has a pulse!" Ruby looked to her, then back to the mysterious redhead.

"Please! Wake up!" she demanded. "Wake up!" Suddenly, eyelids snapped open, and twin gold orbs stared into twin silver ones.

Yang and Blake reached a ruined building in the center of a clearing. "Think this is it?" Yang asked her new Huntress partner. Blake simply gave her a blank stare. Yang shrugged it off, and the two walked forward. "I really hope Ruby's alright," the blonde brawler mumbled. Blake turned to her.

"Your younger sister, right?" she asked. Yang nodded. "Then, I wouldn't worry. You handled yourself well when the earthquake hit. If she's anything like you, then she'll be fine." This made Yang smile.

"Yeah, you're right. Thanks, Blake!" Blake just smirked, but before she could say anymore, her eyes caught sight of something in the ruins.

"What's that?" she asked aloud. Yang turned to where she was looking.

"What's what?" the lilac eyed Huntress asked. Blake squinted to try and discern what she was looking at. She gasped.

"A person!"

"What?!" Yang looked to where Blake had started pointing. Without another word, the two raced towards the ruins. They reached the ruins and were immediately taken aback at the sight of the body before them.

It was a young teen close to their age, wearing little more than brown and tan rags, with long golden hair. What was peculiar of him was his long, horn tipped tail, and the myriad of horns on the right side of his face.

"A…Faunus…?" Yang muttered aloud. "But I thought they only had one trait?"

"I…read somewhere that inbreeding can cause Faunus to exhibit more than one trait," Blake commented, just as shocked as Yang. She knelt down and checked for a pulse, sighing in relief when she found one. "But…I've never actually seen it before."

"Hey, buddy," Yang called out softly, reaching down to shake him slightly. "You ok? Do you need us to call the hospital?"

A rough groaning erupted for the young man's throat as two shiny gold eyes opened to stare at them.

The Unalloyed

"To the birthplace of our dynasty!"

I thank thee, Brave Tarnished. Please, tell Melenia, I am sorry.

"Aw! The stupid earthquake broke my Grimm!" Nora complained.

"Nora, please. Don't do that anymore," Ren sighed. Nora only giggled.

"No promises, Ren!" she shouted sweetly. "Now, where's another-Agh!" She continued, only to break off as she tripped over something. Said something groaned when she landed on it.

"Nora!" Ren ran to her side and helped her up.

"I'm fine! I'm fine!" she assured him. "But, what about this guy?" she asked and pointed down to what tripped her up, which happened to be a young man about their age in white robes with long blonde hair. Ren quickly knelt down and checked his pulse.

"He's alive," he told Nora. "Most likely just unconscious."

"Hey, buddy? You ok?" she asked, lightly tapping the young male on the forehead. Ren let out a long-suffering sigh.

"Nora, that's not how you wake an unconscious person," he admonished her. However, two golden eyes fluttered open.

The Golden

Know no more disgrace, my dear friend.

"What happened here?" Jaune asked, looking at a ruined outcropping of rocks.

"The earthquake, most likely," Pyrrha commented. "At any rate, we cannot dwell on it. We need to reach our destination."

"Yeah." Jaune nodded and turned away but soon caught sight of something behind a large boulder. "What's that?" he asked, pointing to what he saw. Pyrrha turned the direction and narrowed her eyes. She gasped.

"I think it's a person!" she shouted. Jaune's eyes widened as well.

"Seriously?!" Pyrrha didn't say more as she rushed towards the person; Jaune was quick to follow her. They reached the boulder and ran around it, only to gasp in horror. Before them was a young man their age with long, flowing golden hair wearing only breeches. What made the sight more horrific was the giant centipede shaped wound on his back.

"Oh, Grimm!" Jaune looked sick. "Is he dead?!"

Pyrrha was quick to kneel down and check his pulse. "He's alive!" she sighed in relief. However, she cast a perturbed glance at his back. "But how could he be alive with a wound like this?"

"W-Well, I don't see any blood, and the wound does look old," Jaune tried to justify. Pyrrha nodded at the logical answer and turned her attention back to the young man.

"H-Hello? Sir? Are you well?" she asked, giving him a gentle shake.

Slowly, the young man's eyes struggled open, and Pyrrha glanced down at two impossibly golden eyes.

An: So, what do y'all think?

I tried to find some dialogue concerning Miquella, but ultimately, I decided to have him (and by extension Godwyn, since he also has no dialogue either) just think things over the fights of Mohg and Fortissax, respectively. Since we actually fight Radahn and Morgott, I didn't need it, since Jerren's voice over worked well, and Morgott has his own lines.
