The Battle Tournament has been a fun event our heroes have taken part in, but it's coming to a close. Davis has made it into the finals, but so has his rival Jason. Refusing to lose to him once again, Davis is determined to win. What will become of this battle? We're about to find out.

I want to be the very best

Like no one ever was

To catch them is my real test

To train them is my cause

(Pokemon!)

Every challenge along the way

With courage I will face

I will battle every day to claim my rightful place

(Davis' voice): Opposites Battle

The final round of the tournament is going to start soon. That meant that Davis had to get ready.

"This is it." Davis said as he was excited. "This is the time that I'm going to beat Jason. He thinks power is all that matters, but I'll show him."

"Good luck, Davis." Terra said.

"Jason won't be easy to beat. You'll have to be smart." Cletus said. Jason is well aware of all of that, but he won't let that stop him.

"Davis..." Davis looked ahead and saw Miss Bustier with her class. "I'm glad we caught you before the finals started. My class wanted to show you a little something." They all raised signs that showed they were cheering for Davis.

"You all did this for me? You didn't need to do that." Davis said.

"Yeah we did. Your our friend and we wanted to show some support." Marinette said as he was rather touched.

"That's a lot of support for a loser." Davis turned around and was faced with Jason once again. "Why bother supporting him when he's going to lose?"

"You don't know that." Davis argued.

"I do. You're not a challenge, and the only reason I entered this tournament was to find strong opponents." Jason said.

"Yeah, I know. You don't care if you win or lose this tournament, but don't you think that's disrespectful to the others competing? The ones who actually are trying to win, and not just to make their pokemon stronger."

"I couldn't care less." Jason claimed. He said it so coldly. He really doesn't seem to care about others at all.

"I like this one." Chloe said as she stepped forward and stood with him. "He seems to understand that winners are winners and losers are losers."

"Chloe, that isn't nice." Miss bustier claimed.

"It's just true." Chloe said. "Nice to see that someone around here understands that."

"Well, no one asked for your opinion, Blondie. You're not even in this tournament." Jason said. "Now will you get out of the way."

"Excuse me? Do you know who my father is? My father happens to be the mayor." Chloe bragged.

"Do I look like I care? Besides, that has nothing to do with you." Jason said. "What does it matter who your parents are? That doesn't say who you are. If you're hiding behind your father like some sort of shield, you're a bigger loser and more pathetic than that goggle dork."

"What?!" Chloe said as a lot of people were shocked someone would talk to Chloe like that. Jason pushed her out of the way and went on ahead to the battlefield. "Hey! Come back here so I can humiliate you!"

"Wow. Chloe was supporting to him, but he was rude to her." Terra said.

"No way am I losing to him." Davis claimed as he can't let Jason win.

...

The Battlefield

"We are now here. It's the finals of the Battle Tournament!" The mayor announced.

"We've had some great trainers, but the ones left standing are Davis and Jason." Jean announced as they stood facing each other.

"Go, Davis!" Terra called.

"You beat me, so you better win or else I'm going to look bad!" Erik cheered with him and Loki watching as well.

"Now, we wait to see which pokemon our trainers are using." Jean said.

"There's only one that I need." Davis said.

"I'm on it." Imperialdramon said as he walked on the battlefield.

"Sculice, time for battle!" Jason called as he chose his pokemon.

"Sculice!"

"Well, we meet again." Imperialdramon said as he and Sculice had a bit of a rivalry just like their trainers.

"What are we waiting for?! Let's do this!" Davis called. "Imperialdramon, kick things off with Dragon Pulse!" That's exactly what Imperialdramon did as he gathered power and unleashed all of it.

"Sculice, Mirror Shot!" Jason called. Light began to reflect around Sculice and it unleashed the attack. The two attacks collided and caused an explosion to go off. "Now use Ice Beam!"

"Sculice!" Sculice unleashed a beam of ice, but Imperialdramon flew around and tried to avoid the attack.

"This could be a problem. Imperialdramon is a pure dragon-type. Against an ice-type, he'll be in real trouble." Cletus said.

"No way. Davis can win if Imperialdramon can get its fighting-type attacks in." Terra said.

"Now use Brick Break!" Davis called. Imperialdramon got right over Sculice and dived right down.

"Pathetic. Did you forget about this? Sculice, Protect!" Jason called. Sculice formed a barrier around itself and protected itself from Imperialdramon's attack. "Now use Ice Punch!" Sculice gathered cold energy into its fist and smashed against Imperialdramon. The attack hit him so hard that he slid against the ground.

"Oh my! That looked like hurt." The mayor said.

"It was quite effective." Jean said. "Using Protect to block an attack, and then strike with an attack the next second is quite a powerful combo."

"Finish this with Mirror Shot!" Jason said. Sculice gathered power for the attack and launched it.

"Dodge it!" Davis called. Imperialdramon was able to recover enough to move out of the way.

"It's going to take a lot more than that!" Imperialdramon claimed.

"Try Brick Break again!" Davis called.

"That again? Use Protect!" Jason called. It ended up being a repeat of last time.

"We're ready for that! Now use Focus Punch!" Davis called

"You use Focus Punch too!" Jason called. The two of them used the same attacks with them landing a strike against each other.

"Both of them used the same attack, but it was more effective on Sculice since it's an ice-type." The mayor claimed.

"Do you think Davis can really win?" Nino questioned.

"He better win." Chloe claimed.

"You're rooting for him now?"Alya questioned.

"Yes, so he can put that nobody in his place." Chloe said. "That will teach him to talk to me the way he did. A humiliating loss might teach him." Only she would make this battle about her when she has nothing to do with it.

"We've got this Imperialdramon! Now use Dragon Pulse!" Davis called.

"Ice Beam!" Jason called. Both of them used their respective attacks and it ended with a draw.

"Now is our chance! Give them your best attack!" Davis said. "Time to use Imperial Flight!" Imperialdramon gathered his power and flew straight at Sculice.

"Ice Beam!" Jason called. Sculice used the attack and tried to stop Imperialdramon's attack, but Imperialdramon didn't appear to slow down. Imperialdramon smashed against Sculice and knocked it off its feet.

"Now that was certainly a fierce blow!@ the mayor announced.

"Had enough you walking ice sculpture?!" Imperialdramon said.

"We've got this, Imperialdramon! We're going to win this!" Davis claimed.

"Just like a weakling, overconfident and jumping the gun." Jason said. "You haven't noticed? Look at Imperialdramons's leg." Both of them took a look and saw that his leg was frozen. It must have happened just before his attack landed.

"Oh no! Imperialdramon's leg is frozen to the ground!" Cletus said.

"He's trapped!" Terra said.

"Hurry and get out of there!" Davis called. Imperialdramon frantically tried to get his leg free, but it wouldn't budge.

"Ice Punch!" Jason called. Sculice went for the attack and smashed its fist right against Imperialdramon. Sadly, it was enough for the battle to end as Imperialdramon dropped to the ground.

"Imperialdramon is unable to battle! Sculice wins and the victory goes to Jason!"

"It's over and done! Jason is this year's winner!" The mayor said. Davis couldn't believe it. He lost to Jason again, and he didn't even care for winning this tournament. He and the others were shocked about this, but there's nothing they can do about it now.

"Congratulations to Jason for winning this year." Jean said as Jason was being rewarded for his win.

"And here is your prize: the marble heart." The mayor said. Jason took the heart with a lot of people cheering for him, but Davis sure wasn't happy about this.

...

Later

"How are you doing, Davis?" Cletus asked. The tournament is over, but it's upsetting that Davis lost to a jerk. That's why he and his friends were at the Pokemon Center with his traveling buddies and the friends from Miss Bustier's class supported him.

"A little bummed, but I'll be okay." Davis said.

"I'm sorry you lost." Marinette said.

"Thanks, but don't worry about me. I'll just get him next time." Davis said as he was keeping his spirits up.

"It's Jason..." Terra said. They all saw him walk by and he just threw the marble heart at Davis with him catching it.

"What was that for?!" Davis called.

"You were the one making a big deal about it. I don't need it." Jason said and just walked away.

"That guy..." Davis said with irritation.

"Forget him. We'll get him next time like you said." Imperialdramon claimed.

"Hold on. Jean is coming, too." Cletus said. All of them looked and saw Jean coming.

"Davis... I'll be waiting for you at the gym." Jean said and left himself. Seems like he's looking forward to this battle.

"The gym? That's right! You still have your gym battle!" Adrien said. That lifted Davis' spirits.

"We may not have won the tournament, but we still have our gym battle." Imperialdramon reminded.

"That's right. That fourth badge will be ours." Davis said as the two of them bumped fists and have something else to look forward to.

The tournament may have ended with Davis' defeat, but he'll still get his gym battle against Jean. Will he be able to win his fourth badge? Stay tuned to find out.
