Thank you guys for reading chapter 10 of Secret Admirer
We're about to come to an end of Secret Admirer.
I got more ideas for upcoming stories that I will write. But I need time to figure everything out.
I apologize for the wait. I'm so sorry. But, I'll try to post whenever I can.
Here's Chapter 11.
Chapter 11
The next day, Hermione got out of bed. She looked in the mirror; her eyes were red and puffy, from crying all night. She went to the bathroom to wash her face. She sighed sadly. Hermione grabbed her school bag and headed downstairs. When she came down, she saw Ginny, Lavender, and Parvati, waiting for her.
Hermione saw them. "Hey, I'm just heading to the library to get some studying done," She was about to leave to go to the library.
"Before you go, we wanted to ask you something," Parvati said.
"Okay,"
"Did you meet him? Your secret admirer? Who is he?" Ginny asked.
Hermione looked at them with sadness on her face. The girls' looked at each other in shock.
Lavender walked up to Hermione, hugging her with comfort. "Oh! You poor thing!" Hermione returned the hug.
"We're so sorry," Ginny sympathized with her friend.
"Yeah, I'm sorry too. I was just so stupid. Thinking that he would show up, but no, he didn't. I'm just going to give up looking for my secret admirer. I'm done,"
"What?!" Parvati and Lavender exclaimed.
"I'm serious. I'm done. Romance is now dead to me. Now, I have to go to the library and catch up with studying. I'll see you guys later," she picked up her bag and headed out.
"What are we going to do now?" Parvati questions.
"What we need to do is find Luna and tell her what happened," Ginny answered.
"Yeah, let's go," Lavender agreed.
The three girls left the Gryffindor common room and went to the Great Hall, where they saw Luna sitting at the Ravenclaw table. They go to the table and sit with the blonde Ravenclaw girl.
Luna turns to them. "Hello, everyone,"
"Hi, Luna," the girls respond.
"You look down. Is something wrong?"
"Hermione decided to give up on looking for her secret admirer," Ginny explained.
"What? What happened?"
"We don't know, all she told us is that she's done with looking for her secret admirer," Parvati answered.
"Wait a minute, did he say where he was supposed to meet her at the ball last night?" Lavender asks the girls.
Ginny replied. "He was supposed to meet Hermione at the garden, but I guess that he didn't show up,"
"Oh, poor Hermione," Luna said.
"Yeah," the girls agreed.
Meanwhile, Hermione sat down at a nearby table at the library, pulling out the materials to study for OWLs. She studied for at least 6 hours. Hermione puts her head down on the table, in exhaustion and stress. She felt a hand on her shoulder. She lifted her head and saw Harry, sitting next to her.
"Hermione, are you all right?" he asked.
"I'm fine," Hermione answered as she put away her studying materials in her bag and got up from her seat. "I'll see you later, Harry," then she left the library.
Harry got up from his seat and followed her. "Hermione, wait up,"
Hermione continues walking down the corridors all while avoiding talking to Harry, who manages to catch up with her. He gently grabbed her arm and turned her around to face him. "Hey, what happened?"
She sighed. "It doesn't matter, he didn't show up,"
"What?"
"Yeah. I went to the garden where we were supposed to meet, but he didn't even bother to show up,"
"Oh Merlin, Hermione, I'm sorry," Harry apologized.
"Don't be. I'm thinking about quitting the whole secret admirer thing. I knew it was nothing but a load of rubbish,"
"That's what you said about Divination back in 3rd year [1],"
Hermione looked at her friend in shock. "Harry!"
Harry puts his hands up in defense. "Hey, you said it, not me,"
She sighed. "I have to go. I'll see you in the common room," Hermione walked past Harry, but he softly took her hand.
"Hermione," he said as he caressed her cheek.
"Thanks for being supportive with the secret admirer thing, but I'm done with finding my so-called secret admirer," she said before walking away, leaving Harry in the middle of the hall.
Oh. Bloody hell. I blew it. Now, she'll never know how much I'm in love with her. Harry thought to himself before going to Professor Lupin's office.
Author's Note
1) "What a load of rubbish" Hermione said it in Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban when she was taking Divination in 3rd year, including Arithmancy, Ancient Runes, Care of Magical Creatures, and Muggle Studies for electives, until she dropped Divination and Muggle Studies at the end of the year.
*Dramatic gasp* Could Harry Potter be Hermione's secret admirer?
What will happen next?
