Chiro stared at the ceiling.

He'd been thinking about this for a few weeks now. He knew he and Sprx already agreed they wouldn't have a kid with their DNA, but after ten years he was changing his mind. They had experience raising kids now, so another one shouldn't be too much of a problem. Chiro didn't care if the kid ended up weird looking because of the human and monkey DNA combined. If there were too many issues, then they tried, but he wouldn't mind.

The only problem, however, was he didn't know how to bring it back up.

Sprx must've seen the look on his face as he sat up and looked at Chiro. He put his hand on Chiro's face and gently moved it. Chiro looked at his onyx eyes.

"Somethin' botherin' ya, Kid?" Sprx asked. "Ya got that look on your face."

Chiro chuckled. "I have a certain face for this, huh? Well…" He sat up. "I've been thinking and I know we agreed on this years ago, but how do you feel about having a kid with me?"

"I thought you said 'I don't wanna see how human and monkey DNA would mix', Chiro." He teased.

Chiro rolled his eyes. He didn't have to throw his words back at him like that. Sprx laughed, resting his arm on Chiro's shoulder.

"C'mon, I'm jokin', we can try. I don't know how it'll end up, but I'll be there with you every step of the way."

He hugged Sprx. "Thank you."

The two made their way to Gibson. They peaked inside first to see if he was busy. If he was, they would ask him about it later. Thankfully, that wasn't the case as the two walked in. Sprx glided his way to Gibson's side while Chiro normally walked up to him. Chiro crossed his arms and rested them on the surface. Gibson looked at them both before he continued what he was doing.

"What do you two want?" He asked.

"Well, we were thinking…" Chiro started.

"To cut to the chase, we want a kid and we wanna know if you can do somethin' about it." Sprx continued.

It took a moment before Gibson broke out into laughter.

"I thought you said you didn't want to know how this would end up."

"I'm still not sure," Chiro admitted, "but I wanna go for it."

Gibson cleared his throat before he looked at Chiro. "Are you certain? For all we know, the child you two'll have could end up either looking similar to how you looked years ago when Antauri died, or even a worse possible combination of human and monkey DNA."

"I know. I'm willing to take the chance." Chiro responded.

"Gibson, ya won't be able to argue him down. Ya know once the Kid makes up his mind, he's stickin' to it."

Gibson snickered with a smile. "I'm afraid you're correct there. If that's the case, I'll just need this."

He grabbed a couple strands of Chiro's hair. Chiro softly groaned.

"I can't do anything if I don't have your DNA in some form."

"Could've asked," Chiro quietly complained.

Gibson entered Chiro's DNA into a machine and immediately got to work.

"I'll let you know if anything comes up. Just don't get your hopes up."

Chiro picked him up in a hug. "Thank you so much, Gibson! Thank you!"

"...Put me down, please."

"Oh, sorry!" Chiro put him down.

Sprx and Chiro left Gibson alone.

Chiro held his hand up to his mouth as he smiled. He loved the kids they had already, he wouldn't trade any of them for the universe, but he wanted a mini-him running around. He couldn't help but think about it. It felt like when the team first announced they were having kids, except it was amplified this time around. Chiro knew he shouldn't get his hopes up, but he was already brainstorming names for the kid.

Emerald and Aero ran by, with Emerald chasing Aero. To think, they would have another kid run around like they did. It made his smile become bigger. He couldn't wait until Gibson told him it was possible, he wanted to say something about it to the others so badly. Sprx noticed this and he took his hand, causing Chiro to look at him.

"Hey, I'm sure Gibson will let us know soon enough." Sprx reassured him.

"I hope so."

His smile stayed there for the whole day.

It'd been a couple weeks since they went to Gibson.

Gibson had told them it was possible and their baby was in the middle of being made. Chiro nearly cried in joy when he told them the news. After Chiro calmed down enough to speak, he and Sprx gathered everyone for a family meeting. Marino and Soma made sure everyone was there like they needed to be. Everyone but Gibson were all looking at Sprx and Chiro in curiosity, wondering what they had in mind.

Sprx held onto Chiro's arm with his hands and tail. Chiro rested his hand on top of Sprx's. He took a deep breath and released a heartfelt sigh.

"We're going to be having a kid of our own." Chiro announced. "Kids, you're gonna have a sibling."

Antauri, Nova, and Otto took a moment to process the news. They didn't wish to ask the question if it was at the point where they could say that. After a minute, they smiled with Otto getting up and hugging them both.

"I'm happy for ya!" Otto exclaimed.

Nova smiled. "We all are."

The kids, on the other hand, didn't know how to react. They all looked at one another, some with uncertainty while others were surprised. Magma frantically looked at all of them. The silence among them broke when Marino raised his hand.

"Whatever our sibling will be, we will do our best to be good siblings." He said.

The rest nodded.

"I'll teach them everything mwen konnen!" Dactyle confidently said.

"You better not!" Magma glared at them.

Soma came between the two. "Let's not get rowdy here. If you're going to fight, do it elsewhere, uncle Chiro and dad Sprx didn't gather us just so we can hurt each other."

Chiro nervously chuckled while Sprx laughed.

Months passed by after the family meeting.

Chiro came by the lab every day to see how the kid was coming along. They looked so different from how the other kids looked during the process, though that was to be expected. They were curled up into a ball in the tube. Their developing tail reached to the top of their head. He wanted to stay in the lab for a while just to stare at them, however he knew he couldn't do the same thing as last time.

He and Sprx had to think of what to name them. Chiro already had an idea of what their first name could be, but it was taking a while to think of a good middle name.

He also had to tell Jinmay and Slingshot soon after he announced it to the family, since they weren't able to make it. Jinmay didn't seem sure about helping out with another kid, considering how nearly half of them drove her wild, but she was happy for him nonetheless. Slingshot was excited and he was curious about how the new kid would end up being like. Chiro couldn't blame him for his excitement and curiosity.

Every day felt longer than they really were. Chiro couldn't wait for them to be born. He grew impatient as the days went on. The kids could see how excited he was and he could tell it was the same for them. He saw Jasper, Dactyle, Peridot, Emerald, and Aero in the lab at times just to look at the developing baby whenever he went to see how everything was going. The five always ran out the moment they noticed Chiro's there.

He always smiled and shook his head whenever they ran out. They were kids who were excited about their new sibling, he couldn't be mad about that. In fact, he thought it was adorable.

Chiro looked at the tube the baby was in. He smiled as he saw they were still curled up into a ball. They got bigger than any of their siblings ever did. It seemed like the human side of them was going to dominate their height. He lightly laughed, imagining how annoyed some of them might get knowing their youngest sibling would end up being taller than them. Everyone only had to wait just a little longer before they're born.

He put his hand on the glass. It felt like an eternity, but it wouldn't take long, Chiro knew this.

Sprx came into the lab and walked up to Chiro. He climbed onto him, wrapping his arms and legs around his torso. He rested his head onto Chiro's shoulder. The pink pilot kissed his cheek as Chiro laid his hand on Sprx's head. He leaned his head into his helmet. Chiro's hand moved down the glass before getting off completely.

"Ya know, comin' in here ain't gonna make 'em born any sooner." Sprx teased.

Chiro chuckled. He looked at Sprx's black eyes.

"What, I can't see our kid? Is that not allowed?" He lightheartedly retorted.

"'Course not, I just know you've been impatient." He responded.

"You can't act like you're not wanting the wait to be over too."

"As if I didn't go through this before."

Chiro playfully rolled his eyes. "Like I wasn't here for that. Did you come in just to tell me how impatient and excited I am?"

"Nah, but the kids want ya, Kid." Sprx replied.

"Could've told me that from the start." He said.

"Eh, it's more fun teasin' ya." He admitted.

"Of course it is."

Chiro walked out of the lab. He looked back at the tube and happily sighed. As the doors closed, he swore he saw their kid open their eyes. For the moment, Chiro shrugged it off as it not actually happening and it was merely him wanting to see some movement. There was no reason why it wasn't him seeing things.

He joined everyone else.

However, as he was walking to the others, Gibson ran past him. He went into the lab. Antauri, Nova, Otto, and the kids followed him. None of them entered the lab and waited outside. Chiro looked at Sprx with confusion, Sprx sharing the same expression. He peeked into the lab, watching Gibson as he went through the machines. Gibson looked back and forth between the screen and the tube.

Chiro looked at the tube. He was right, their eyes were wide open. Their hands were up against the glass as they stared directly at Gibson. Their legs were still in the position they were before and the tip of their tail swung back and forth. He couldn't believe his eyes. He knew they moved sometimes, but it was never to this extent.

"That's weird," Chiro heard Gibson say, "they shouldn't be ready for another week or two."

The scientist drained the tube of liquid. After a few seconds, he opened it and took the baby out of it. They coughed as Gibson dried them up. Gibson checked everything and yet, despite the premature birth, they appeared to be healthy. He hummed in curiosity. The baby extended their arms, reaching for Gibson's face. He slowly rocked the newly born infant.

Sprx got off of Chiro before the latter walked forward. His eyes were stuck on the child that was in Gibson's arms. The blue monkey looked up at him.

"Oh, Chiro, I didn't know you were nearby." He greeted.

"Is… Is everything alright?" Chiro asked in worry.

Gibson nodded. "While premature, she's alright."

"So she's a girl," Chiro reached his hand out to her.

She grabbed his finger. Out the tube and she already had such a firm grip. Gibson handed her to him.

"Here you go, Chiro."

Chiro carefully took her from his arms. He held her and looked into her eyes. They were as blue as Chiro's eyes, yet around the pupil they were white. He became captivated by her eyes. It was such a simple thing, but they were beautiful. The best of both worlds, one might say. His smile grew big. It was like the first time he held the kids, but this time it was a kid with his own DNA in her. Already he loved her like he loved all the other kids.

He looked back at Sprx only to see everyone standing beside him. They were all waiting to see her up close. Chiro walked over to them as he looked back at her.

"Welcome to the world, Kaminari Apricot Fukuzawa. This family is crazy, but you'll love it."
