"Magma Cloud, please come over here!"
He flinched hearing how loud Diamond's voice was. Magma quickly ran over to where Diamond was due to how urgent it sounded. When the doors whooshed open, he was greeted with Diamond being off the floor. She did her best to stay on the wall no matter what. Magma then saw something on the ground, with it being some kind of handmade contraption she made, and it gave him a clear idea of what was going on. He groaned as he placed his finger and thumb between his eyes.
Magma then caught a glimpse of the bug running by him. He glared at Diamond, who was still hanging there. She then looked offended at how he looked at her.
"Don't look at me like that!" Diamond nearly yelled. "Get rid of that bloody bug! It's enormous!"
Magma rolled his eyes. One of his fists transformed into a gauntlet and squashed it. Diamond put her hand to her mouth and looked away. She nearly gagged seeing him do it so nonchalantly. Magma simply wiped his gauntlet off and swept the bug up.
"I can't believe you're like Dad Gibson on that front," he opened up the trash nearby, "to think you'd be more like Mom and not give a shit about that."
She climbed down. "At least I tried to get it myself before having to call for you or anyone else."
Magma's eyebrow raised as he picked up what he saw before. "You mean with this thing that clearly didn't work and, if you tried any harder, would break? What's it supposed to be anyways?"
Diamond rolled her eyes and snatched it from his hand. "Clearly it's supposed to be something to crush bugs at a distance."
She went to put it at her desk side.
"Obviously it doesn't work, Diamond." He retorted.
She slowly looked at him with squinted eyes. "No shit, Sherlock, nice work you done there. Do you want me to be your Watson or are you too brilliant for that?"
"Oh, dear me, the sarcasm in that statement, whatever should I do?" Magma's voice laid monotone. "And you're welcome for helping you out with that, by the way."
Diamond crossed her arms as she sat down. Her tail grabbed a chair from nearby and pulled it closer, all without looking at the chair or Magma.
"...I appreciate that, genuinely. If you want to stay for a while, you can. I know how the others tend to drive you wild after long enough."
He closed the door before he walked closer to her. He sat down in the chair.
"Thanks, I actually do need that right now. Dactyle's been driving me nuts."
"I know the feeling, Jasper tends to be that for me." Diamond responded.
Magma snorted. "Please, don't get me started on her! I love her so much, but fuck is she a source of anxiety!"
Diamond couldn't help but laugh. That was something she understood better than anyone else out of the family, even if both knew Jasper wasn't trying to be anything of the sorts.
Even if they didn't always get along, they were always a good place to get some venting out.
