After an hour spent composing themselves, the Inn Residents gathered back in the living room.

"To think all this evil lay in everyone's past." Yuka mindlessly mutters to herself. 'Out of everyone, I'm the only one who's lead something of a normal life.'

After everyone arrived back to their seats, Lucy being the last, Yuka starts the next episode.

The episode starts on Nana and Lucy still facing one another while Mayu stands in between the two.

Mayu: Hi Nyu. Whats up?

"Heh." Kouta laughs. "Sorry, just feels a bit anticlimactic."

"I know what you mean." Mayu agrees with her question not fitting the air of the situation.

Mayu is shoved to the ground by an invisible force.

Mayu: Nyu stop!

Nana: She didn't do anything. Don't hurt her!

Lucy smirks.

Lucy: Did you come for a rematch? There's not much left to cut off, is there?

Lucy herself finches at her own cruel words. Truthfully, she just wanted Nana to leave the Inn alone, thinking she was an invader. 'No need to add salt to the wound.' She mentally chastises. Alright back then, she knew she wouldn't care.

Nana charges.

Mayu: Nana don't!

Cut to Kouta cutting a scallion. Yuka is putting away some dishes behind him.

Kouta: Ah!

Yuka: What?

Kouta: Oh, sorry.

Yuka: Let me see.

Yuka takes his hand.

Kouta: Its not a big deal.

Yuka: Yeah but still, you should put a band-aid on it. I thought you could handle the scallions without hurting yourself.

Kouta: I guess I'm a klutz.

Yuka: I'll be back in a second.

Yuka walks offscreen.

Kouta: I told her I'd mess it up somehow.

Kouta then hears some rumblings from nearby.

Kouta: Huh? What was that?

Cut to Lucy knocked against the wall and sliding down it.

"Uh, What was that?" Mayu asks.

"It was harder to fight with the fever." Lucy answers.

"Not that, I mean, why go to that random scene before coming back?" Mayu questions.

"Who knows." Kouta can only reply.

Nana seems awestruck at how easy it seemed. Lucy looks up.

Lucy: Is that the best you can do?

Nana: Huh

Nana backs away slightly as Mayu approaches the two. Lucy slowly raises.

Lucy: How do you plan to kill me if thats the best you've got.

"You sure really wanna pick a fight." Kouta offhandedly comments.

"I thought she was back to take me away again! I didn't want to take any chances considering now the institute would have known all of you were involved." Lucy hastily defends herself.

Kouta winced at his careless comment.

Lucy deploys her vectors.

Nana: Mayu! Get out of here!

Nana launches her arms, which Lucy deflects. Nana then charges at her again

Nana: I can do it!

Mayu: No!

Mayu rushes forward.

Cut back to the inside of the Maple inn where Yuka walks by Nyu's room to find the Diclonius absent.

Yuka: Huh? Hey! Kouta! Nyu's not in her room!

Kouta: Huh? Whats that?

Cut to Lucy starring wide eyed at something slightly below her. Nana also stares wide eyed. There is an X shaped cut on the back of Mayu's shirt as she clings to Lucy.

"You are fast, not only to get in front of me, but my vectors as well." Nana comments.

"I also would like to thank you, Mayu. If it weren't for you, that blow probably would have killed me." Lucy adds.

"Uh, your welcome." Mayu responds.

Mayu: You can't... keep doing... these things.

Nana: That was so close.

Lucy: What is this? What are you doing?

Mayu: See Nyu. You can stop if you want to.

Lucy's breath catches and she turns her head to the side as if considering something. She then shoves Mayu off of her, looking to Nana.

Lucy: This fight isn't over yet.

"I did consider your words and want to go through with them." Lucy tells Mayu. "Though, life has taught me things can't work like that, more than once."

Lucy approaches Nana.

Nana: It never is.

Mayu quickly runs back up to Lucy and puts her hands on her shoulders.

Mayu: Nyu! Stop! No more, stop it!

Lucy goes wide eyed again and the collapses, clutching her head and moaning in pain.

Mayu: Nyu!

Nana: Whats going on.

Kouta and Yuka then charge into the scene.

Yuka: Nyu!

Kouta: What are you doing out here? You scared us!

They both reach Lucy and Kouta crouches down to her.

Nana: Be careful.

Kouta turns her, revealing that Nyu is the dominant personality again.

Nyu: Kouta...

Kouta: Feels like you still have a fever.

Nyu then clings onto Kouta and cries.

Nyu: Kouta! You're so nice. You're so nice... Kouta! Kouta!

'Nyu must remember some of Lucy's past to have acted like that in that moment.' Kouta thought. It was like he gave a sense of stability to both of the personalities.

As everyone watches the scene, Mayu approaches Nana with her arms.

Mayu: Um, before they notice, you should put them on before you scare them.

"It's amazing how we didn't notice them." Yuka comments.

"Especially considering she wasn't even trying to hide them." Mayu agrees.

Nana looks back to Nyu who is still crying on Kouta's shoulder.

Nana: That girl... thats not Lucy anymore.

Mayu: What?

Cut to the interior of Maple Inn. Yuka sets the table as all but Kouta are sitting down.

Yuka: All we have is rice porridge.

Nana aggressively stares at the bowl as her stomach rumbles.

"You look like the rice had just issued you a challenge." Kouta says.

Yuka: Take as much as you want. Sounds like you're hungry.

Nyu: Nyu!

Nyu quickly snatches up her bowl, startling Nana.

Nana: Sure, that would be nice.

Nana picks up her own bowl.

Cut to Mayu's torn shirt on the floor. Mayu finishes putting on her pyjamas as she hears Kouta's voice in what must be a flashback.

Kouta: Mayu, is this your friend?

Cut to everyone back outside again.

Mayu: Uh, yes. She's my friend. Her name is Nana. She's just like me, she doesn't have a home to go to.

Kouta: I'm sorry to hear that, but why did she attack Nyu?

Mayu: Well... you see... Nana was just hungry and that made her kind of cranky.

Nana's expression morphs to one of shock.

Everyone laughs at Nana's expression.

"Could you have not made it sound so mean." Nana mutters.

"Sorry, but it was all I could think of at the time. It's not like we could have told them the truth." Mayu says

"We'd never have believed you at the time." Kouta confirms.

Mayu: But on a full stomach she's actually really well behaved.

Nana: Hey!

Yuka: well, we were just in the kitchen making dinner.

Yuka looks to Kouta.

Kouta: Yeah, we've got enough for one more.

Nana: But I can't-

Mayu just seems to smile AT her. Nana seems to go along with it.

"You make it seem like she didn't have a choice if she wanted to have dinner with you or not." Lucy comments.

"I felt like she needed to be pushed to take a few steps forward." Mayu says. "You know what I mean."

Flash back to the present.

Nana: More please!

Mayu looks up and smiles.

Cut to Nana ferociously eating away at the rice porridge. In order, Kouta, Yuka, and Nyu are shocked at this behaviour.

"That's one mystery solved." Kouta mutters, remembering being told that Diclonius were only fed stale bread. Compared with rice porridge, the porridge might as well have been a slice of heaven.

Yuka: That poor girl must have been really hungry.

Kouta: You aren't kidding.

Nana: Another one please!

Nana holds out her bowl.

Yuka: Sorry, there isn't anymore.

Nana looks disheartened. Mayu appears at the doorway.

Mayu: You know, I don't know if Nana has anywhere to stay right now. Do you think it would be okay if she spent the night?

Kouta: Are you saying she's homeless?

Nana: There aren't many places people with horns can go.

'No where, really.' Yuka thought. 'They aren't even allowed to leave the nursery.' Yuka once had a friend that was getting a younger sister, but she died not long after birth. Could her friends sister have been a Diclonius and met a grisly fate simply for being born one?

All is silent until Yuka turns to Kouta.

Yuka: What should we do?

Kouta: I do have a lot of questions for her. Fine. Then why don't you stay with us for awhile.

Nana: No!

Kouta: Huh?

Mayu: Nana!

Nana: I'm not staying with people who treat me like I did something wrong.

"You don't really have much a choice." Lucy said. "It's either with them, or out on the streets, and the streets can be rough, especially when it gets colder."

Kouta: What are you talking about? You're the one who attacked Nyu for absolutely no reason!

Nana: I have a reason!

Nyu offers her bowl to Nana.

Nyu: Nyu!

Nana looks to Nyu, not knowing how to take the offer.

Nana: Is that for me?

Nyu: Nyu!

Nyu smiles.

Lucy couldn't help but smile at her other persona's kindness. In a way, she felt jealous of her for that.

Kouta: But... Nyu.

Yuka: She heard Nana say that Nana gets mad when she's hungry.

"You sure are an expect on Nyu." Lucy comments.

"Yeah! When ever someone was confused with Nyu, you knew exactly what she was trying to say!" Nana says.

"I guess so. I never really thought about it much." Yuka replies.

Kouta: Huh? Thats nice Nyu, but you have to eat too.

Nyu: Nyu? Ohhhh.

Yuka: I've hardly touched my bowl. You can have it if you want it.

Nana seems to finally give into something and stands up.

Kouta: Whats wrong?

Nana bows down.

Nana: I'm very sorry.

Nyu: Nyu?

Nana: It was wrong of me to attack you like I did. I don't know what came over me. I'm very sorry.

Mayu smiles at the interaction.

Cut to Kurama in his dark office.

The lighthearted tone in the audience evaporates at being taken back to the Institute.

Kakuzawa (flashback): You owe me quite a debt of gratitude. I won't tolerate any further disloyalty from you.

Kurama can only sigh at the memories.

Professor Kakuzawa (flashback): Hey, you staying here after you graduate?

Flash back to a younger Kurama.

"Woah! Are we gonna see papa's past!" Nana exclaims. Papa never talked about his past, making her naturally curious.

"It appears so." Mayu confirms for her friend. "He does look a bit younger here."

Lucy also perked up an eyebrow, curious as to how the man became what he was.

Kurama: Yeah. I think staying here is the best way to keep focused on my research.

He is talking to a younger Professor Kakuzawa sitting on a bench.

Kakuzawa: Look, don't say anything to anybody else about this.

Kurama: Huh?

A time of silence passes. Then, Kurama speaks as if Kakuzawa had explained to him what he wanted to say.

Kurama: Your fathers research institute?

Kakuzawa: Yeah. They've been doing some classified research on a government project. Restricted clearance, they're looking for people they can trust its all very hush hush.

"So, Professor Kakuzawa brought him in." Kouta notes.

"That doesn't surprise me." Lucy says.

Kurama: Classified research, huh? I don't want a job that I have to keep secret.

Kakuzawa: Your skill would be invaluable to us.

Kurama: I'm not your man, Kakuzawa. Sorry.

"He seems like a decent man here." Kouta comments. A far cry from the near emotionless man they had seen through out the videos.

Lucy was confused by this 'Kurama refused the offer? What convinced him to join up then?'

Kurama attempts to walk away.

Kakuzawa: Come on Kurama. Don't you want to see the beginning of a new human race.

Kurama stops and looks back to Kakuzawa.

'There it is I suppose.' Lucy thinks upon getting her answer.

"I can see why'd he take it. Becoming apart of something that could change humanity, who wouldn't want to be a part of it." Mayu comments.

'I wouldn't and I'm at the centre of this "plan".' Lucy thinks.

Cut to a police blockade near what looks to be an apartment complex. There is a severed head in the basket of a tricycle. Huge flood light illuminate the area.

Speaker: This is the police! We have you surrounded!

Sat soldiers walk up to the second floor where a headless coarpse lay. The soldiers open the door, pointing their guns in, searching for anything hostile.

Sat soldier 1: Don't move!

Out of the shadows, a little girl comes out, crying. Although she is wearing a hat, her pink hair can be seen.

"She's a Diclonius." Nana affirms.

"They don't know what they're walking into." Yuka says.

Sat soldier 2: Poor girl.

The girl approaches the soldiers as one kneels down to her level.

Sat soldier 1: Its alright sweetie, don't be scared. Is the bad person still inside?

The girl looks up, showing her red eyes and nods.

Sat soldier 2: We're moving in!

With that, the rest of the soldiers file inside.

Sat soldier 2: Theres no one here!

The soldiers look around.

Sat soldier 3: What? Theres no other way out of here.

Sat soldier 1: Honey, wheres the bad person now.

The girl looks up and points to the soldier. And just like that, his head comes off.

"Okay, we know why you killed in the past, but how come she did?" Kouta asks.

"The scientists believe that it's simply in out nature and that we're following some directive to replace humanity. What I believe though is that she also had a terrible environment and lashed out." Lucy theorized.

"Another possibility would be that the girl simply never got something she wanted." Yuka brings up. "She's very young and children tend to throw tantrums or get destructive when they don't get something they want. Now, put the power to kill with a very thought in their hands and they can turn that destruction into something horrible."

"I guess that would be a large flaw getting those powers as young as three." Mayu says.

For once, Nana was glad to have been in the Institute during her earliest years. 'I would have been like her if I didn't have someone to control my power until I got old enough.'

The other soldiers look terrified at the girl as the body falls. They nervously point their guns at her. The girl smiles. The soldiers begin to panic as another one gets his arm sliced off and then split in half. The two behind him take notice.

Sat soldier 4: Shoot her! Shoot her!

The two fire and their shots go through the girls chest. There are multiple shots fired. Over kill, actually.

"Why didn't she block the bullets?" Kouta questions. He had seen Lucy block fire from multiple automatic rifles with no issue.

""She must have not been experienced enough." Lucy says. "I think Yuka might be on to something with her temper tantrum theory. Otherwise, she would have at least tried some kind of defence."

Kakuzawa narrates as the scene plays out.

Kakuzawa: Four years ago in the Kanagawa prefecture, several girls were born with horn like temporal protrusions.

The girls body is shown, bleeding from the multiple shots to her chest.

Kakuzawa: It was thought to be a rare disease, but the problem was never that simple.

Cut to show the island facility. Cut to inside where a large device sticking out of the wall gradually lowers. Another girl is chained to wall opposite of the device. The device finishes lowering right above an observation room where several people stood. The device has a laser sight that aims straight for the girls forehead.

"Oh my God. What are they..."

"The experiments." Nana interrupts Yuka. "I remember the times I was brought in for that."

"W- What are they doing?" Kouta hesitantly asks the Diclonius.

#3: Please... not again.

Kakuzawa looks on with impassivity while Kurama looks on in something akin to shock.

Kakuzawa: Do it.

A sphere fires out and misses the girl head by a bit, creating a large dent on the wall. There are three other spheres at the girls feet, joined by the one just fired.

"Holy crap!" Yuka exclaims.

"They shot cannon balls at you?!" Mayu worriedly asks.

"Yes. Papa explained that it was to test the strength of our vectors." Nana explains.

Scientist: 270 joules cleared. We'll do 300 joules next.

The laser sight appears again.

#3: No more. No more. I'm scared! I'm scared, I don't want to do this anymore please stop!

Kurama can only look on, horrified.

Here, Kurama was acting how Kouta expected a normal human being to react. Sheeer horror at the inhumanity taking place before him. 'Something's going to happen that'll make him the way he is now.' He thinks. 'That or he just grew desensitized to it.'

#3: Don't do it!

Kurama looks away. The machine fires. It his #3 and blood splatters on the wall behind her.

"It never did hit you, did it?" Mayu asks, afraid of the answer.

"It did. It hurt a lot." Nana said.

"Oh my-!" Mayu can't even bring herself to finish as she glomps Nana into a big hug.

Kouta turns to Lucy. "Did they ever do that to you?"

"No. They thought it to dangerous since me being the queen, my vectors are more powerful. They thought I would hurl one back at them." Lucy answers. ' Though that didn't stop them from using other forms of experimentation on me.'

Kakuzawa: Guess 270's the limit.

Scientist: There hasn't been any change in the past month.

Kakuzawa: Her power should steadily grow as her body matures. But I suppose its possible that the vectors differ as much as the individuals that posses them.

Kurama wordlessly walks away.

Cut to an office where another scientist is typing in a laptop. Kurma sits on the other side of the desk. The door opens.

Kakuzawa: Whats the matter, Kurama? You look like you're in a bad mood.

Kurama: I regret being taken in by your fast talk and flattery.

"Understandably so." Yuka comments.

"I'm surprised he didn't just up and leave there." Kouta comments.

"The Institute would probably have a way to "persuade" him into staying." Lucy says. "We're not supposed to exist as far as the public is aware, so with Kurama knowing, they would probably consider him a loose end if he left."

Kakuzawa sits on the desk.

Kakuzawa: We're researching samples that are all but unknown outside of this research facility. Future generations will undoubtedly benefit from what we learn here. Trust me, Kurama.

Kurama: Why are all these cases in the same area at the same time? Thats where we should concentrate the investigation, rather than wasting our time on this inhumane torture.

'Exactly!' Kouta exclaims in his mind.

Kakuzawa: Do you think these subjects are human?

Kurama: Whats that?

Kakuzawa: Diclonius show their true colours when they turn three, cause thats when their vectors first appear.

The scene cuts to a boy terrorizing a diclonius child with their dog. Kakuzawa narrates over the image.

Kakuzawa: They mark the right of passage with repeated murders. Our research shows the Diclonius will kill their own parents without hesitation.

"I guess I fail that "passage". I've never killed anyone." Nana says. "I could have, but I didn't kill papa."

Lucy can only look down, feeling shame at succeeding at this "right of passage" as Kakuzawa put it. 'If I knew my parents, I don't think I'd ever kill them so long as they treated me like a parent SHOULD treat their child.

The young Diclonius beheads the boy.

Kakuzawa: Yet, consistently, they use their powers only against human victims.

The girl tries to pet the dog, only for it to bite her hand and run off, leaving the girl crying.

Kakuzawa: What does it mean? It means, Kurama, that the Diclonius are the enemy of man kind.

"That doesn't prove that!" Mayu exclaims.

"Yeah! We just like animals!" Nana exclaims.

This couldn't help but get Lucy thinking. 'Is my love for animals just a product of my Diclonius brain?' She hoped not. It would explain why supposedly all the Diclonius loved animals. The thought of something she perceived to just be a part of her personality in reality just be a result of her Diclonisum frustrated her to say the least.

Kouta rook her hand, knowing what she was feeling. "Its just a coincidence." He whispered to her. "Surely they wouldn't know that about ALL Diclonius." His words succeeded in assuring her as she shot him a thankful smile.

Kurama stands up.

Kurama: Enough. I'm going home now.

Kakuzawa: Say hi to your wife for me, Mr. newly wed.

Omori: Chief Kakuzawa!

Kakuzawa: Whats the matter?

Omori: Its meal time for number 3, but it looks like somethings wrong. Theres no communication from the room, and it looks like the security doors unlocked.

"An escape attempt?" Nana questions.

"Most likely. This could be where they made some of the security measures they have today. By learning how she escaped." Kouta says.

Cut to a security officer firing his gun. #3 stands there, deflecting the bullets. A spilt sludge and stale bread lay at her feet. She moves forward.

Scientist: Take time! Aim!

Security officer: I'm aiming! She's deflecting my bullets!

The girl moves in range.

#3: Now its my turn to do things to you.

The security officer has his head torn off and then flung away.

Cut back to the scientists, Kurama on the radio.

Kurama: Close the security hatch! Tell the guards to have their guns ready and lock down #3's level. Omori, check all the other levels.

Omori: Yes sir.

Omori gets up and walks towards the door, opening it and walking out, only for his forehead to be touched by a vector. Kurama notices and walks toward him as he is pushed against the door. Kurama see's #3 standing there, holding the head of a security guard with the rest of him laying at her feet.

Nana gasps, ready to leap in and save her papa before remembering she is watching events past and that this has all happened before. 'How did papa survive her?'

#3: I finally get to meet you. The person behind the glass.

Kurma can only stare with fright. #3 touches his forehead.

'Mariko...' Nana thinks sadly.

'So thats how she became a Diclonius.' Lucy thinks as she also wonders why #3 let him live.

#3: I'm glad. I wanted to thank you. So thank you.

#3's head suddenly blows up in a mess of gore.

Everyone in the audience jumps at the suddenness.

"Nearly killed me with that." Yuka breathes.

She falls to the ground. Kurama, covered in blood looks to the dead girl. Kakuzawa chuckles. He is then shown aiming down a rifle.

Kakuzawa: She was fast enough for a pistol, but she couldn't stop an armour piercing round. Kurama, it looks like you've cheated death my friend. We thought her power was in a dormant phase, but apparently she was just faking it.

Omori: Are you saying, she already had the power to stop bullets?

Kakuzawa: Their emotions may match their age, but their intelligence far surpasses it. I got careless.

The camera once again focuses on #3's body. Kakuzawa still seems horrified, thinking back to #3's last words.

Kurama: What did she mean?

"What... did she mean?" Lucy questions. "Surely she couldn't have known our vectors are what spread the virus. I never knew until I was brought into the Institute."

"It is strange..." Mayu admits. "Nana, did you know about it without it being explained to you?" Her friend shakes her head.

"It could be something we're overlooking, or she wasn't referring to the virus." Yuka brings up.

Cut to Director Kakuzawa's office.

Director Kakuzawa: We still haven't found the cause of the mutation, but the number of Diclonius births is growing. We can't admit them all. Even this facility has limits.

Kurama: Are you ordering us to terminate children born with this condition?!

"So this is when it started as well as why it started." Kouta says.

"Seems so." Lucy says. She thought they killed only because it was easier not to have to deal with the problem, rather than their being an issue with the facility.

Director Kakuzawa: From now on, we'll report the mutants death as sudden infant death syndrome by chromosomal abnormality. The facility has a public license to make that kind of diagnosis.

Kurama: ...Understood sir.

It then cuts Omori crying.

Omori: Stay the hell out of there! What are you going to do to my baby? Horns or no horns, she's my daughter and I love her!

"The scientists are reaping what they sow then." Yuka comments.

"I imagined that they wouldn't have to deal with the consequences of their actions and thats why no one ever sympathized with the Diclonius." Mayu says. "I guess I was wrong. They're people who have families too."

Kakuzawa: Omori, you know better. You've seen first hand what Diclonius do when they're older.

Omori: Don't you understand, she's my daughter.

Kakuzawa: Which means in three years, you're the first person she'll kill. Forget about her. You've had bad luck, thats all.

"He's even more of a scumbag then we previously thought." Kouta growls. "Just to tell him to so easily forget about his daughter and writing it off as bad luck."

"These people are low. But no one can get lower than the Kakuzawa's." Yuka agrees.

Omori: Bad luck, Kurama? Is that all you have to say?

Kurama: When you consider the only eventual outcome, its better to kill her before she grows. She'll only come to love you. Which makes it much crueler.

Omori: This is insane! A father can't make that kind of decision!

Kurama: I'll make the decision.

Omori stops his crying to look at Kurama in shock.

Kurama: I've decided to do it myself. You'll only have me to blame.

And then, Omori collapses to the ground, crying for his soon to be dead daughter.

Kakuzawa: It doesn't always have to be you, you know.

Cut back to the office where Kurama and Kakuzawa sit, talking.

Kurama: I've already terminated over ten of them. Theres no reason anyone else should have that blood on their hands.

"Thats almost something to be respected about him until you remember what he's talking about." Kouta comments.

Kakuzawa: Well if you feel that killing is your duty, I'm not about to argue with you. But your wife is nine months pregnant, a break would be healthy.

A cry of distress brings the two scientists attention to the doorway where Kisaragi has tripped, spilling the coffee she had been carrying.

Kurama: Kisaragi.

Kisaragi: Oh, I'm so sorry. I'll get a rag and clean up this mess right now.

She crawls over to the mug and tray to pick them up. She gets up and runs out of the room only for the sound of the phone to bring her tumbling down again.

"Has she ever gotten a cup of coffee somewhere else unspilled?" Yuka asks no one in particular.

Kakuzawa: Is she new?

Kurama: She's a graduate of Tokyo University.

Kakuzawa: Is that so?

Kisaragi crawls over to the phone and picks it up.

Kisaragi: Hi. Chiefs office.

Kurama: It actually makes things easier having someone like her around.

"I can see what he means. Having someone all bright and happy around would lift anyones day." Kouta says.

"Maybe thats part of the reason he tried to take care of you as much as he could." Mayu says to Nana, causing the other girls face to light up at the prospect of making her papa happy.

Kakuzawa: Hm. Whatever you say.

Kisaragi: Mr. Kurama!

Cut to the hospital.

Nurse: The doctor noticed signs of cervical cancer, they removed her uterus immediately at the same time the C section was performed.

Kurama: Hows my wife, and my baby?

Nurse: Fine. Both made it through the procedure without complications.

Mrs. Kurama: The girl, just look at her.

Kurama can only stare on in horror as his wife talks.

Mrs. Kurama: We have to think of a name.

His daughter has horns as well as a patch of pink hair.

"Its almost as if he's being punished for his sins." Kouta comments.

"I suppose thats a way of looking at it." Lucy says. 'Being ordered to kill "monsters" and then have his daughter be born one of the worst of all."

Omori (flashabck): Horns or no horns she's my daughter and I love her!

The flashbacks echo as Kurama stares.

Kurama (flashback): Its better to kill her before she grows.

Omori (flashback): Don't you understand she's my daughter!

Kakuzawa (flashback): Which only means, that in three years you're the first person she'll kill.

Kurama (flashback): Its better to kill her before she grows.

Omori (flashback): This is insane! A father can't make that kind of decision!

Kurama (flashback): I'll make the decision. I've decided to do it myself. You'll only have me to blame. Its better to kill her before she grows.

From their, the flashbacks all mesh into a conglomeration of voices.

It then cuts to show Mrs. Kurama ripping down a curtain attempting to stand up. She quickly stands up holding her daughter in her arms.

Mrs. Kurama: Just leave! Get away from us! You know theres no way that I can let that happen.

Kurama: It hurts me too, but you have to understand-

"Theres is no circumstance where she would allow Kurama to kill their daughter, even if she did understand." Yuka says.

"Yeah. I thought he would have tried when he thought no one was looking and then his wife happened to walk in at the wrong moment leading to everything Kurama described a few episodes ago." Mayu agrees.

Mrs. Kurama Theres no way I'm going to let you kill my baby!

A nurse then bursts into the room.

Nurse: Mrs. Kurama! Whats the matter?

Mrs. Kurama then faints. Kurama rushes to her side while the nurse runs out.

Nurse: Doctor!

Cut to Kurama sitting down, clutching his head as the doctor stands over him.

Doctor: We couldn't afford an incident like this. She's only been out of surgery for a few hours.

Kurama: Hows my wife?

Doctor: She was excited and thrashing around when she needed complete rest.

It then shows Mrs. Kurama hooked up to life support.

Doctor: Her excessive internal bleeding has left her unconscious. If the situation intensifies theres not much we can do.

Kurama watches over his wife.

Kurama: My daughter. What have you done with my daughter?

Doctor: She's in the nursery, but calm down before you see her.

It then cuts to show Kurama looking over his daughter in the nursery.

Flash back to #3's last words.

#3 (flashback): I'm glad. I wanted to thank you.

Kurama then remembers getting touched by her vector.

Flashback to the present.

Kurama: It was #3... That explains Omori's daughter. Thats it. Thats how its spreading.

Kurama then backs away before collapsing to his knees.

Kurama: I'm a fool not to see it happen to me.

It then flashes to Kurama getting up. Standing over his daughter. Then him bringing his hands around her throat.

Mrs. Kurama: Why...

"This is where it all happens." Kouta mutters, not looking forward to more death.

"Not exactly." Nana inaudibly sighs, knowing Mariko did not die that day.

Mrs. Kurama watches with tears streaking down her face.

Mrs. Kurama: Why are you trying to kill our baby?

Kurama can only stare, wide eyed. Mrs. Kurama's lower half has blooding coming down and leaking onto the floor.

Mrs. Kurama: We were looking forward to her so much. And now she's the only child I can ever have.

Mrs. Kurama walks forward, blood audibly spilling as she moves.

Mrs. Kurama: How could you? Just because she has horns growing out of her head? She's not a bad girl. Please save her. I'm begging you to save her. She's our daughter. Our only child.

With that, she collapses unto Kurama, sliding down and staining his suit with blood. She hits the ground.

Kurama: Alright. I'm going to save her, just wake up.

Kurama kneels down and cradles her but she is dead,

Kurama: I swear I'll save her. If you just wake up.

Nana looks down, knowing he never did save her.

Lucy can't believe herself, but she starts feeling sympathy for Kurama. 'Never thought I'd ever feel that. If Kouta trusted me with a task if he... ever died. I would not hesitate to use all my power to carry it out.' She starts to feel guilt for killing Kisaragi, not just because she was an innocent person, but because she brought Kurma some measure of happiness. 'How ironic. How miserably ironic. We're more alike then we've ever known.'

The scene then fades back to, Kakuzawa's office.

Director Kakuzawa: The results are in from the follow up study. The tests on the diclonius fathers returned similar results to those of Kurama's. Theres no doubt now that its contact with vectors that are responsible for spreading the virus.

Kakuzawa: How ironic. The mystery of the Diclonius virus was solved because of you. I've decided to leave the Institute so I can dedicate my research exclusively to the virus. Thats been my specialty since the beginning.

Director Kakuzawa: Then Kurama, you'll take over as chief.

Kurama: Understood.

Kakuzawa: Well, I'll go pack my things.

Kakuzawa leaves his fathers office.

Director Kakuzawa: There has to be a queen.

Kurama: A queen?

'Thats probably why he hates me so much.' Lucy thinks. 'He probably sees me as the reason he's lost almost every precious person in his life.' The divide between the two just grew narrower and narrower in her mind, and she didn't know what to think of it.

Director Kakuzawa: There must be a Diclonius responsible for the first infection. Investigate everything we have until you found the original mutant.

Kurama: But why sir!

Director Kakuzawa: Don't forget that your daughter's life's in my hands. You know as well as I she should be dead. The least you can do is obey me.

"I forgot to call this out earlier, but he lied about what happened!" Yuka exclaims.

"This makes sense in a way." Kouta says. "We've seen he's against what the institute does, but he doesn't fight back because his daughter is being threatened."

Cut to the present where Kurama puts the picture of himself and his wife back beside the ones of Kisaragi and Nana. He looks to Nana's photo.

Kurama: I hope you can escape from all of this.

"Oh papa." Nana whispers. "I hope I make you proud."

Cut to Mayu trying to rouse Nana from sleep.

Mayu: Nana! Nana! Nana!

Nana shoots upright with a gasp. She then looks around.

Nana: Was that... yesterday?

Mayu: Breakfast is ready in the kitchen.

Nana: ...its all your fault.

Mayu: Huh?

"You never did tell me what that was about." Mayu brings up.

"Just a dream I had. Don't worry about it." Nana tells her.

Cut to the residents having breakfast.

Nana: Wow! Whats this? It tastes really good! Did you make this, Mayu?

Mayu: Uh, yes.

Nana: Its amazing. You're a genius .

Nana then proceeds to scarf her food down.

Mayu: Um, sorry. I know you weren't looking for another house guest.

Yuka: Thats okay. Six is no harder then five. Right?

Kouta: Yeah. Well, I'm not really sure...

Yuka: You know what, now that we have more people we should go to Endoshima.

Kouta: Because theres six of us?

Mayu: Thats a great idea! Wanta's gonna love it!

Nyu: Nyu!

"We should all go. You know, now that nobody's trying to kill us there." Kouta smiles.

"What! Was this when you ran off with Nyu that last time? What the hell happened that you felt compelled to hide from me?!" Yuka demanded.

Kouta winced at her harsh tone. "I'm sure we'll see it."

Lucy looks down, knowing Kouta's words would most likely be true. All doubt about her crimes against Kouta's family's would also be confirmed. She was not looking forward to that.

The camera focuses on Nana.

Nana: I'm not sure how exactly it happened, but I think I'm... happy.

"I'm glad that we could show you happiness." Mayu says.

"I'm glad that you'll keep letting me experience it with you." Nana smiles.

Cut back to the Institute where Shirakawa and Isobe enter a large empty room.

Isobe: #35 is no ordinary sipilet. Not many people are even aware she exists.

Shirakawa: I didn't know about her either. Until the director sent me.

Isobe: Now, its all we can do to keep her contained. When it comes to killing people, sipilet #35 has set a new standard. We keep her alive because she's the only confirmed third generation. But if you ask me...

Shirakawa activates the large door, which slowly opens. Inside lies a large vessel with the number "35" painted onto it. Multiple vectors hang out and down from various points of the vessel.

"Oh my god." Yuka breathes, covering her mouth as she can only imagine the monster lies inside.

"Was... was this who you were sensing that one time?" Mayu asks Nana, to which she nods, sadly. 'Oh my! How did Nana get away from her?'

Kouta's eyebrows raise as he puts something together. 'Is that the little girl in the wheelchair on the bridge?' He could never forget someone so out of place alongside soldiers. 'No wonder Nana was so banged up when I got to her.'

Isobe: Thats correct. You can actually see them. Her wave motions are stronger than the others. Thats not the only thing. She has 26 vectors, she's a worse monster than Lucy, the strongest Diclonius.

Episode end.

"Wait, if Lucy is the queen, why is that one the strongest?" Mayu asks. Lucy can only shrug.

"Hell if I know how Diclonius power scaling works. And I'm the Diclonius queen." Lucy exclaims.

"We might never know the answer." Kouta says before the button for the next episode.

Wait! Crossoveraddict67! I here you cry, You forgot the Nana's nightmare scene where she is sentenced to naked crucification! To which I say, No, I deliberately ignored it. First off, theres no way Nana would know what religion is, so how would she know what a cross is, much less that someone could be crucified on one. Sure, someone at the institute could have explained to her what it was, but I highly doubt that that was the case.

In any case, I don't know which was hardest, writing the reactions for this episode, or episode 3's reactions. Either way, I hope you enjoyed them nontheless.
