Summary: Audrey goes to lunch with everyone only for her kidnappers to show up at the restaurant.

After breakfast, they got up to walk around Pike Place while Addison texted Derek to check in, sending him a copy of the picture they'd just taken. Derek replied within a few minutes and let her know he was almost done with a surgery and he and Meredith would be ready for lunch around one. They all walked for a while, pausing to try free samples and get a closer look at local crafts.

Once they got to the pier, they sat and let the breeze blow through while looking out at the view. Around them were other people, locals and out-of-towners alike, eating, talking, and taking pictures.

"It's beautiful out here," Audrey commented softly as she breathed in the slightly salty air.

"Yeah. I can get why your dad loves it so much out here," Addison said, smiling back at her before they both turned to look out at the water again.

"So, how come you don't live here anymore?" Audrey asked.

"I…needed a fresh start. Seattle's beautiful, but I don't know how well I could really move on while living in the same city and working at the same hospital as my ex-husband and his girlfriend. Derek is and always will be family, partly because of you, partly because of Amelia, but also just because we'd been together for so long. I just needed to move on on my own," Addison replied honestly.

"I get that," Audrey said.

"So…what's gonna happen to me?" Audrey asked hesitantly.

"I don't know yet," Addison said. Audrey nodded back awkwardly, trading glances toward Puget Sound and her mother.

Addison and Derek hadn't really talked about it much yet. All they really knew was that they were relieved Audrey was alive and safe. She knew she and Derek would talk about it more later, but she wasn't looking forward to the inevitable argument that would ensue about where Audrey should live full-time, which one of them would have to fly back and forth for visits, and which one would get her for which holiday.

"But we'll figure it out. Hopefully, sometime today. Believe me, I want to spend as much time as I can with you, but I still have a practice back home to get back to. And I don't think we want Henry living out of a hotel room for long. Not if we want him to get used to sleeping in his own bed," Addison said.

"That makes sense," Audrey commented, smiling back politely.

"I know this is hard and confusing right now, but I promise we'll figure it out. We just want what's best for you," Addison said reassuringly.

"I know," Audrey said, giving her a small smile.

They all took some more pictures while they were looking out at the view before deciding to go back to walking the rest of Pike Place. Jake even ended up getting Angela and Audrey some bracelets from a vendor that they'd been eyeing when they walked past earlier. Before they knew it, it was time to go, so they went back to the car before Jake drove them all back to Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital to meet Derek, Meredith, and Zola.

"Hey, there you are, Red," Mark said upon seeing the family of five walk in.

"Hi, Mark," Addison chuckled.

"Auntie!" Henry exclaimed, running after spotting Amelia at the end of the hallway, smiling back at him.

Jake and Addison smiled, watching him reunite with Amelia, who happily picked the little boy up once he got to her. It'd only been a day, and he already missed her. Amelia had always been a constant figure in Henry's life, and she was the best godmother they could've asked for. Audrey wondered if she would've been the same way with her if she'd grown up with Derek and Addison.

"I'm guessing you're here to find Derek," Amelia said, as they all caught up to her.

"You would be correct," Angela said, answering for everyone.

"We're meeting him and Meredith for lunch," Jake chimed in.

"But how could the hospital possibly function without the great neuro god, Dr. Derek Shepherd?" Amelia joked mockingly as she let Henry back down.

"Haha, very funny," Derek said as he came out of the attending lounge with Meredith following shortly behind, both of whom were in their street clothes.

"I'll have you know I am very important here," Derek added.

"Yeah, the neuro department doesn't know what to do without him," Mark said mockingly, laughing along.

"You're welcome to join us, you know," Addison chuckled, linking her arm with Amelia's.

"Hey! What about me?" Mark asked, acting insulted.

"You, too, Mark," Addison rolled her eyes playfully.

"Sure," Amelia agreed easily.

"Well, I guess since you're begging…," Mark joked, presumably agreeing to join them for lunch.

"We've just gotta get Zola from daycare first," Meredith said as they all walked together toward the daycare center.

"Anything you're in the mood for?" Derek asked, directing his question toward Audrey.

"Not really," Audrey shrugged.

"What about you guys?" Derek asked playfully as he looked over at Henry, who Angela was holding now since he decided he wanted her to hold him instead of walking.

"Anything you wanna eat?" Angela asked, clarifying for her little brother. Henry shrugged, not knowing if he had anything in mind. Derek looked over at Angela to see if she had any cravings.

"I don't know. What's good here?" Audrey asked.

"Oh, we're the wrong people to ask," Meredith laughed. All they ever ate was cafeteria food, a few select takeout places near their house, or whatever Derek made for dinner.

"Mark?" Addison asked, knowing he might have a better answer.

"Anyone against seafood? There's some good places near the pier," Mark suggested after thinking about it for a few seconds.

Everyone looked around, with no one against the idea.

"Cool. I'll text you guys the address," Mark said, pulling his phone out of his coat pocket.

"Are you gonna change first?" Amelia asked, noticing he was still in scrubs and a lab coat.

"Right….Can you guys grab Sofia for me?" Mark asked, looking over at Derek and Meredith.

"Yeah, we've got her," Meredith agreed.

"Sofia?" Audrey asked.

"My kid," Mark clarified.

"Of course you have a kid," Angela commented.

"You gossiping about me now, Red?" Mark joked, looking over at Addison.

"I didn't tell her anything everyone else didn't already know," Addison said, defending herself playfully before giggling.

"Meet you guys at the front?" Mark suggested.

"Sounds good," Jake replied before Mark nodded and turned back toward the locker rooms.

When they got to the daycare center, Zola came running when she saw her parents. Sofia followed closely behind while Jake, Addison, Angela, Audrey, and Henry waited at the doorway patiently. Derek and Meredith grabbed Zola and Sofia's jackets before coming back outside to join everyone else.

"Hi, Henry!" Zola greeted the little boy enthusiastically.

"Hi," Henry giggled.

"This is my friend, Sofia," Zola said. Sofia waved back and smiled.

"Hi," Henry said shyly before they all walked hand-in-hand beside everyone.

They all gushed as they watched the little ones holding hands and walking toward the hospital entrance, following closely behind them. Derek and Addison's phones dinged with a text message from Mark, complete with the restaurant's name and address. After waiting a few more minutes, they saw Mark coming from the elevator, smiling as he caught up to them.

Amelia hadn't rented a car, figuring she could carpool with whoever was available, so she went with Mark. Since he complained he didn't have anyone to ride with, they roped Audrey into coming with them. After agreeing to meet at the restaurant, they all went their separate ways and went into their respective cars.

"So, be honest with me," Mark started, looking over at Amelia sitting in the passenger seat after a few minutes passed. She lifted an eyebrow, intrigued.

"What do we think of this Jake guy?" Mark asked. He knew Addison got married, and he was happy with Lexie, but it didn't mean he wasn't curious about her. Amelia chuckled.

"He's great," Amelia replied. Mark made a face, wanting to know more.

"The man's basically a saint. If you think you're getting any dirt on him from me, you're dead wrong," Amelia added.

"Whatever happened to her and Sam? I mean, I'm happy he and Nai are back together, but I thought they were serious," Mark asked.

"She wanted to have a baby. He didn't," Amelia said honestly.

"…But he has a baby," Mark said, confused. He'd gotten the birth announcement in the mail when Sam and Naomi welcomed their son, Michael, not even a full year ago.

"Yeah. That's 'cause he knocked her up at Addie's wedding," Amelia smirked. Mark looked back wide-eyed, intrigued by the gossip.

"So…he didn't want a baby?" Mark asked.

"Nope. She wanted one, and he kept saying he didn't, so they broke up. A long time coming, really, but it's great 'cause she's got Jake and Henry now," Amelia replied.

"And she's happy?" Mark asked.

"Yes. Very happy," Amelia confirmed.

"He's a good guy, Mark. And exactly what she needs after…everything," Amelia said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Mark asked.

"It just means she's gone through a lot. First with Derek and Audrey, then you, and then Sam," Amelia started.

"Wait, you and my mom were together, too?" Audrey asked, interrupting her aunt.

"Yeah…it didn't work out. Obviously. Your parents…they loved you and wanted you to be alive, more than anything, but I think it was just harder for Addie to move on. Derek just buried himself in his work and Addie needed a shoulder to cry on, and…that person ended up being me. At least for a while," Mark explained.

Audrey nodded, letting the information sink in. There was still so much she didn't know about her parents and the aftermath of her kidnapping. She wanted to ask and find out more, but she knew it'd only be a matter of time until it all came out in the open.

"Derek and Addie moved here for a change of scenery and to try to work on their relationship. Instead, Derek found himself a girlfriend," Amelia added.

"That's not exactly what happened. He didn't cheat on her," Mark reminded her.

"No, but he might as well have," Amelia commented.

"What does that mean?" Audrey asked.

"It means he was making googly eyes with Mer in the elevator while Addison tried to make it work with him," Amelia replied.

"He didn't mean to…," Mark said, trying to defend his friend.

"No, but you and I both know Derek's not good at hiding his feelings," Amelia commented.

"Neither are you," Mark joked.

"Shut up," Amelia quipped back playfully before Mark laughed back.

Eventually, they got to the restaurant and met everyone else at the hostess' station. There was a short wait for a table, but the tank full of tropical fish mesmerized the younger kids nearby. Zola asked Angela to pick her up while Sofia looked up at Amelia to carry her, leaving Henry to reach up toward Audrey. The girls obliged and let them look at the fish closer before the hostess came back to lead them all to their tables.

With so many of them, the hostess could only accommodate them by splitting them into two tables. After perusing the menu for a few minutes, a server came by and took their orders. The kids, antsy, just wanted to see the fish swimming in the tank again. Audrey, Angela, and Amelia offered to take them back, which Addison agreed to, telling them she'd text Amelia or Angela when their food came out.

While Audrey held Henry again, she caught a glimpse of someone staring at her before the woman hid behind a wall. She waited and saw her head pop back out, and Audrey's eyes widened. It was Evelyn. The woman she thought was her mom for almost her entire life. She put Henry down, letting him go over to Angela before excusing herself to go to the bathroom.

"What are you doing here?" Audrey asked, her voice low but stern.

"I had to see if you were okay," Evelyn said. Audrey saw Robert standing behind her, which only made her angrier and scared simultaneously.

"Okay? Do you mean before or after you took me as a baby?" Audrey argued back.

"That's not fair," Evelyn started.

"Not fair? You wanna talk about not fair? You took me as a baby. My parents, my real parents, didn't even get the chance to raise me because you took me. You stole me. So don't even start with me," Audrey said, feeling her blood practically boil inside.

"We did not raise you to take that tone with us, young lady," Evelyn said.

"You shouldn't have raised me at all!" Audrey yelled back.

"Hey! Keep your voice down!" Robert shushed her harshly.

"No. Leave me the hell alone," Audrey said, turning around to go back to her family.

Before Audrey got back to her new siblings and Amelia, Evelyn grabbed her arm to stop her.

"Zoe, please," Evelyn pleaded.

"My name isn't Zoe; it's Audrey. It always has been. You just took me and gave me whatever name you wanted even though you had no right to," Audrey bit back angrily.

From the fish tank, Angela got Amelia's attention upon seeing Audrey arguing with Robert and Evelyn. She didn't know if this was just some random argument with strangers or if they were her kidnappers. Neither of them knew what Audrey's kidnappers even looked like other than knowing it was a couple, but something felt off to them. When Amelia saw them, she pulled her phone out, dialed 911, and urged Angela to call Addison. Angela called Addison and told her through the phone about what was going on.

Unfortunately, unbeknownst to them, Henry saw Audrey as well and ran to her. Amelia and Angela were too busy calling to realize he'd run off, and it wasn't until it was too late before they noticed. Even though Henry ran to Audrey, Robert took his chance and picked the little boy up, and he responded by crying. Loudly. It wasn't long before the rest of their family came over to diffuse the situation.

"The police are on the way. Just put him down," Derek said sternly as he tried not to explode in front of Robert.

"Fine. We'll trade. We get Zoe and you get whoever this kid is," Robert said.

"That kid is my son, and we are not trading. You are not taking any of my children," Jake replied, keeping his voice as calm as he could while sounding stern.

Audrey felt a sliver of warmth bubble up inside her upon hearing Jake call her one of his children. She barely knew the man, but she knew Amelia was right when she called him a saint.

"Yeah, we don't negotiate with terrorists…or kidnappers," Amelia said awkwardly, not even trying to joke.

"Now's not the time for jokes, Amy," Derek scolded.

"That wasn't a joke," Amelia replied innocently. It was just the first thing that came to mind, and it, unfortunately, came out sounding like she was trying to make light of the situation. Derek glared back at her as she gave back a defensive look.

"I'm not gonna tell you again, let my son go," Jake said as Meredith held Zola close to her side while Mark did the same with Sofia.

Robert handed a still-crying and distressed Henry to Evelyn before stepping forward, getting in Jake's face.

"Or what?" Robert threatened. Jake's jaw and fists clenched, feeling ready to punch him.

Then they all heard the police sirens sounding outside, causing Robert to run, leaving Evelyn behind. She wasn't strong enough to run and Henry's squirming finally did him good because Evelyn eventually let him down. Addison kneeled and reached her arms out toward her son as Henry ran to her, letting her pick him up and hold him in her arms.

"Are you happy now?" Audrey asked, looking over at Evelyn angrily as cops swarmed into the restaurant. Derek pointed them in Evelyn's direction and ordered her to put her hands up.

"I'm sorry, Zoe," Evelyn said softly after holding her arms up, clearly still weak from her surgery as the cops handcuffed her and Audrey stepped back, getting beside Derek and Addison.

Evelyn's body was still weak from the surgery since she didn't stay for the majority of what should've been her recovery time, so after the cops placed handcuffs on her, her body started going limp. A cop held her up after noticing, calling for a medic.

"She just had a bone marrow transfer a few days ago," Meredith informed them as the cops radioed for paramedics.

Amelia held onto Audrey's arm to try to comfort her while Derek answered the officers' questions, everyone watching as things progressed. Addison felt something wet on her feet and looked down to see water on her foot. Thank god she wasn't wearing nicer shoes, she thought. Addison looked over at Meredith standing next to her, who was watching Derek and the cops intensely.

"Meredith," Addison started, handing a much calmer Henry over to Angela. Meredith turned to face her, confused.

"Are you okay?" Addison asked, putting her hands on her arms.

"Yeah. Why?" Meredith asked, confused.

"Because your water just broke," Addison informed her.

Derek heard his ex-wife and turned around while Meredith looked down. She hadn't even realized her water had broken until Addison said something. Now, she realized her leg was wet and that her water had broken just barely over Addison's right shoe.

"Oh my god," Meredith said.

"I'm so sorry," Meredith added apologetically, feeling bad for it getting all over Addison's shoes.

"It's okay, we can just ride with the nice paramedics to the hospital, but unless you're feeling any pain, you should be okay," Addison said. Meredith was clearly still a little stunned.

"Addie, she's not at full term yet," Derek said.

"How many weeks?" Addison asked, accepting the chair Jake pulled over to them.

"Just over 33 weeks," Meredith replied, taking a seat in the chair.

"It's okay, 33 weeks is viable," Jake said calmly.

"You and I both know viable isn't the same as full-term," Derek quipped angrily.

"Okay, enough," Addison scolded. Things were tense right now, but arguing about this wouldn't help anyone.

Jake and Addison coached Meredith to breathe deeply while Derek went between answering the cops' questions and glancing back at Meredith. She insisted she was fine, but Derek was still worried, nonetheless. It amazed Audrey how her mother, and even Meredith, could stay so calm and focused during the chaos that ensued. The paramedics wheeled Evelyn away first before more showed up to take Meredith to the hospital.

Mark, Amelia, and Angela ensured they'd take care of the kids and meet Derek, Addison, and Jake at the hospital. Amelia took Derek's car keys and Angela took Jake's rental car keys before Jake, Addison, and Derek joined Meredith in the ambulance, with Audrey riding with Mark and Sofia. At the hospital, they tried to drop the kids off at daycare, but Zola and Henry refused to go. Sofia followed suit, wanting to go with her new friends, so they had to have the kids tag along.

Before heading over to meet Derek, Addison, and Jake in a labor and delivery room on the obstetrics floor, they bumped into Lexie, who was also on her way there.

"How is she?" Lexie asked frantically when she saw Mark with the girls.

"I don't know. All Derek told me was the room number," Mark replied.

"What are they…?" Lexie asked, referring to the younger kids.

"They wanted to come," Amelia replied, answering her question. Lexie shrugged and accepted it as an answer, figuring they couldn't force the kids to stay at daycare if they didn't want to.

When they got to the room, they found Meredith in the bed while Jake and Addison tried to calm Meredith down, coaching her to breathe deeply. Derek was by Meredith's side, holding her hand with one hand and holding up his phone to his ear with his other hand.

"Daddy!" Zola shouted as she ran in.

"What…what is she doing here? Why aren't the kids in daycare?" Derek asked, kneeling to give his daughter a quick hug.

"They didn't wanna go," Amelia replied.

"They're children, Amy. No one said you had to ask for their permission," Derek said.

"I'm sorry we didn't want to leave the daycare workers with three screaming children when it's almost naptime," Amelia said mockingly. Derek rolled his eyes before the officer who had put him on hold came back.

"How are you feeling?" Lexie asked, directing her question toward Meredith.

"Oh, you know, just preparing to push a baby out," Meredith joked, laying back and taking deep breaths just as Jake and Addison told her to.

"How far along is she?" Angela asked.

Jake and Addison looked at each other. Neither of them were her O.B., so it didn't feel right to check.

"You didn't check, did you?" Amelia asked as more of a statement than a question.

"We're not her O.B.," Jake said.

"Did I miss it?" Cristina asked as she ran in while everyone else left the room.

"Does it look like you missed it?" Meredith asked, still breathing hard, wincing in pain.

"Something's wrong. I know it is," Meredith said.

"Why? What's wrong?" Addison asked, concerned.

"I'm sure everything's fine," Dr. Connie Ryan said as she walked into the room. First-time mothers were always anxious, so she didn't worry too much about it.

"But this baby is almost seven weeks early," Angela pointed out.

"I'm sorry and you are?" Connie asked.

"That's sissy!" Henry chimed in.

"Okay, anyone that doesn't need to be here, please leave the room," Connie said sternly. The room was full of people and overcrowded. Everyone obliged and left the room. Everyone but Derek and Cristina, that is.

"Contractions are every three minutes," Derek said, informing their O.B.

"And she doesn't want drugs," Cristina chimed in.

"I have Dr. Knox available in case she changes her mind," Derek said.

"Look, she doesn't want drugs," Cristina argued.

"Okay, can everybody just please shut up? I want to push, I feel like I need to push. Can I push?" Meredith asked as Connie went to check on how far along she was.

"I just need to check first…," Connie started before stopping.

"What's going on?" Cristina asked, sensing something was wrong.

"Meredith, I need you not to push," Connie said calmly.

"Why?" Meredith asked, suspicious.

"There's face presentation. I can feel your baby's face," Connie replied, keeping her voice calm so she wouldn't freak out her patient.

"So, we're gonna need to do a c-section," Connie added.

"I do not want to have surgery," Meredith sighed.

"I know," Derek said, trying to soothe his wife.

"Alright, you know what? It's just a C. That's barely surgery. Even a moron could do a C," Cristina added. Connie gave her a look.

"I -, no offense," Cristina smiled.

"Okay, we're just gonna book an OR and go from there," Connie started.

"No," Meredith said.

"No?" Connie asked, taken aback.

"Mer, I know you don't wanna have surgery - trust me, I don't either, but this baby needs it," Derek said gently.

"I know that," Meredith said, slightly annoyed.

"If I need this surgery, I don't want you as my doctor anymore," Meredith said, referring to Connie. Connie looked back, surprised and insulted.

"Get me Addison Montgomery," Meredith demanded.

A/N: Chapter title inspired by the song, Rescue by Lauren Daigle. References include lines from Meredith, Derek, and Cristina from Grey's Anatomy 9x24. The last line is also a little inspired by Grey's Anatomy 18x03, except this time it's Meredith asking for Addison instead of Addison asking for Meredith. You asked for the drama to come back and I (hopefully) delivered.

Also, I'm just gonna tell you now, but I did end up renaming Bailey (Meredith and Derek's baby). There's nothing wrong with the name and it's very sweet how it came about in the actual show, but I had this idea and it had to do with changing his name, so I am sorry in advance if that bothers you. I promise there's a good reason for it! The next few chapters have a good mix of drama and fluff, so hopefully you enjoy what's coming up and I promise I won't make you wait too long until the next chapter because this one's ending on a slight cliffhanger. Thanks again for reading and thank you so much for all your kind comments 3
