Summary: Audrey wakes up to a surprise from her parents and Angela.
In the morning, Audrey woke up and poked her head out into the hallway after taking a few minutes to stretch and yawn in her bed. The house was still pretty quiet, but Audrey could hear Zola's voice coming from the office. As she got closer, Audrey heard her little sister talking about how she was going to be Princess Jasmine, her favorite princess, for Halloween and how her daddy was going to get the costume for her. Audrey giggled, listening in on the girls. Amelia said she had dressed up as Snow White at her age because her dad had told her she looked just like the princess, which is why she wanted the costume in the first place.
When Audrey moved into view, Zola's eyes lit up upon spotting her big sister, causing Amelia to turn around and smile.
"Hey, kid. Come join us," Amelia said, gesturing for Audrey to sit down.
There wasn't too much space on the pulled-out couch bed, but if they were just going to sit and chat, there was plenty of room. Her Aunt Amelia still looked a little sleepy, and even though the sun was up, Henry wasn't awake yet. It was early, and Amelia definitely didn't go to bed as early as they had. Audrey gently pulled Zola over by her legs, making her giggle, before reaching her midsection and sitting the little girl on her lap.
"What time is it?" Audrey asked.
"Early," Amelia said, gently resting her head on Audrey's shoulder. Audrey chuckled.
"What are you gonna be for Halloween?" Zola asked, looking up as she sat on her sister's lap.
"I don't know…I haven't really thought about it yet," Audrey said thoughtfully.
She still had a month to figure it out, but she hadn't grown up with great costumes. There was a picture of her as a toddler at the old house in Toledo dressed as a pumpkin, but aside from that, Halloween wasn't really a holiday they had celebrated much growing up. She'd worn the same witch costume for years as a kid until she discovered superheroes. But even then, all she had was a dress shirt, a Superman shirt, and a broken pair of sunglasses without the lens that Eleanor had bought for her from the thrift store so she could be Clark Kent on the outside and Superman on the inside.
Audrey had asked for costumes before, however. It just wasn't really a luxury they could afford. At least, that's what Robert and Eleanor had always said. They were always just scraping by. Eleanor had a steady job cleaning people's houses, while Robert seemed to have a different job every few weeks. Fast food worker, janitor, bartender, retail worker. He even tried to get a job as a security guard once, but he didn't have any of the qualifications, and while he could be a convincing liar at times, the hiring manager hadn't believed him. It also probably had something to do with the fact that he couldn't pass the exam despite taking it three times.
"Hmm…you can be Belle," Zola suggested, giggling.
"Belle? Like from Beauty and the Beast?" Audrey asked, giggling back. Zola nodded back enthusiastically. Audrey thought about it. It wouldn't be the worst to dress up like a princess for her little sister. She wasn't sure what her Halloween plans would be yet, but if Zola wanted her to Belle, she'd do it for her.
"You know what? I think your daddy's downstairs," Amelia said after a minute. She figured she could rest longer if Zola went downstairs to see Derek.
After seeing Zola's eyes light up, Audrey helped her off Amelia's pull-out couch bed before taking her hand and walking them both downstairs. Derek was lying on the couch, and Audrey didn't think he was awake yet, but Zola didn't seem to mind as she ran over to their dad.
"Hi, Daddy!" Zola exclaimed, after Derek's eyes opened sleepily.
"Hey, Princess," Derek said before yawning, making Zola giggle.
"What are you doing up so early?" Derek asked, sitting up on the couch before placing Zola beside him.
"Telling us about her Halloween costume," Audrey answered for her before joining them on the couch.
"Hey. You sleep okay?" Derek asked before wrapping an arm around his older daughter and kissing the side of her head. Audrey nodded before leaning into her dad's shoulder while Zola climbed onto his lap.
"Did you wake up your sister?" Derek asked playfully.
"No!" Zola exclaimed defensively. Derek and Audrey chuckled back.
"She was already awake when I got up," Audrey added.
"See?" Zola commented. Derek chuckled, admitting defeat before bringing Zola closer and kissing her cheek.
"So, you guys hungry?" Derek asked, after snuggling with his girls for a few minutes on the couch.
"Yeah," Audrey replied as Zola nodded back enthusiastically.
"Okay. Let's see what your mom has here to make," Derek said, helping Zola down off the couch as Audrey stood up.
"Daddy?" Zola asked, as they started walking toward the fridge in the kitchen.
"Yeah?" Derek asked.
"Is Audrey's mommy my other mommy?" Zola asked. Audrey stifled a laugh as Derek figured out how to answer Zola's question.
"Well…Addison's just Audrey's mommy. And I'm Audrey's daddy, so your mommy is Audrey's other mommy, and Jake is Audrey's other daddy," Derek tried as he grabbed eggs and milk out of the fridge.
"What about Henry? Is he my brother like Will?" Zola asked.
"Uh…," Derek stumbled for a minute, looking over at Audrey, who just shrugged in response. They'd never really thought about how confusing this might be for the younger kids. Though, she did note how interesting it was that Henry hadn't asked these questions yet.
"You know, Zola, I think…I think we're all family, so, yeah, Henry can be your brother like Will," Derek finally said, grabbing a bowl from the cabinet.
"So, Audrey's mommy isn't my mommy, too?" Zola asked, still confused.
"Not…exactly…," Derek replied. If anything, Addison would be like an aunt to Zola, maybe. He wasn't really sure what the answer was or what Addison would want him to say, but he knew Addison would be a great presence in his daughters' lives. Both of his daughters.
"So, what do I call Audrey's mommy?" Zola asked. Derek hadn't really told her what to call Addison.
"Why don't you just call me Addie?" Addison suggested as she and Jake came down the stairs with Henry in Jake's arms. As they walked down, they saw Amelia walking behind them.
Zola turned and smiled, blushing, before running into Derek's legs. He chuckled and ran a hand through her hair before grabbing a pan in the cupboards.
"Morning," Jake said as he and Addison walked closer.
"Whatcha got there?" Amelia asked, leaning over the counter.
"I thought about making some breakfast. I hope you guys don't mind," Derek replied, turning on the stove and placing a pad of butter in the pan.
"No, go ahead. It's gonna be nice not cooking breakfast for once," Jake joked as Addison, Audrey, and Amelia laughed.
"Yeah, Addie doesn't really cook," Derek smirked.
"Hey! I've never needed to!" Addison defended herself playfully.
"Yeah, we know. Ahem, WASP," Amelia joked, barely masking her WASP comment under a fake cough.
"You don't cook either, Amy," Derek pointed out as he poured the omelet mixture, hearing a slight sizzle when it hit the pan.
Amelia made a face before Derek returned the favor. If anyone ever accused the two of not being siblings before, the scene playing in front of their eyes would've convinced them. Audrey giggled before feeling a little hand slide into hers. When she looked down, she saw Henry looking up and smiling at her. Jake must've let him down earlier and she hadn't noticed. As Audrey smiled back at her little brother, she heard Zola's little footsteps run over to grab her other hand.
"Henry, why don't you show Zola some of your toys in the living room?" Addison suggested. There were a lot of people around the kitchen counter now, and it'd be a little while before breakfast would be ready.
"Okay," Henry agreed before pulling Audrey, who was still holding Zola's hand, toward the living room. Once he reached the toy box, he let go of Audrey's hand to open the lid and climbed in to grab some toys.
"Here you go," Henry said, handing Zola a small bus toy as he chose to play with a small plane toy. Audrey let the kids play on their own as she sat on the couch, watching them for a minute before Addison and Amelia sat down beside her.
"Hey, kid," Amelia said. Audrey smiled before leaning on her mother's shoulder and resting her eyes for a minute. Addison kissed the top of her head before resting her head against her daughter's.
"Sleep okay?" Addison asked.
"Mm-hmm," Audrey replied, keeping her eyes closed.
While Derek continued making breakfast, Jake made coffee for all the adults as Amelia watched the younger kids play, letting Addison and Audrey rest a little longer. Just like earlier in the morning, Zola talked all about her Princess Jasmine costume and how it was her favorite Disney princess because of the tiger. Henry said he liked tigers, too, as well as lions, like the ones in The Lion King. They had their fun imitating the growling noises the wild cats made, getting even Amelia to join in. When Milo came out of his hiding spot underneath the couch, Henry gave him his best lion impression, trying to encourage a roar from the orange tabby. Unfortunately, all Milo mustered back were a few meows, confused at why the kids were making these sounds at him.
With so many of them, Derek and Jake brought the food outside, while Addison and Amelia brought out plates, utensils, and napkins. Right after Amelia called for the kids to come outside, they heard the front door unlock before it opened.
"Sissy!" Henry ran for the door as Angela picked him up once he reached her feet, kissing his cheek playfully. Audrey and Zola waved after Angela made eye contact, and she smiled and waved back.
"Hey, just in time," Jake said.
"Ooh, good. I'm starved," Angela joked before joining Audrey and Zola and meeting everyone else outside.
"What are you doing here?" Audrey asked, surprised, before getting up to greet Angela.
"Free food," Angela joked.
Audrey looked confused; her dad had made breakfast this time, not Jake. And, aside from the friendly hellos and Angela bonding with Meredith when her dad and Meredith brought her out to L.A., Audrey knew she was missing something. She looked at Jake and her mom, who gave no hints at whatever was going on. Instead, Addison was focusing on strapping Henry into his high chair, and Jake was portioning out food for everyone. It didn't help that her dad was also doing the same for Zola as her mom was for Henry.
"Alright, I'm also here for the surprise," Angela teased. They hadn't even started eating breakfast yet, but she didn't want to wait any longer.
"Surprise? What surprise?" Zola asked excitedly. When looking over at Henry, he had the same excited look on his face. Angela smiled satisfactorily; she knew the sheer mention of a surprise would get the kids riled up.
"Yeah, what surprise?" Audrey asked. Derek and Addison smiled; they may have missed out on so much time with Audrey, but it was nice to get a reminder that she was still a kid sometimes.
"Well, you know, Zola and I are going to be here until tomorrow morning, so we were thinking…who's up for a trip to Disneyland today?" Derek asked, chuckling when the kids' faces, Audrey's included, lit up.
"Disneyland?" Audrey asked excitedly.
"Yeah. What do you think?" Amelia asked, chuckling while looking at the kids.
"I wanna go Disneyland!" Henry exclaimed.
"After we finish breakfast. Then we can get ready to go," Addison said as they all started eating.
Derek had already asked Jake and Addison the week before over the phone, and after some hesitation from Addison, they all eventually decided it'd be a nice surprise for Audrey and her younger siblings. But Addison knew that it'd be challenging watching and entertaining the younger kids all day while trying to make sure Audrey was still having a good time, so Jake was the one who suggested they invite Angela. After keeping the secret for over a week now, Angela had been itching to let the cat out of the bag.
"So, Zola said she's going to be Princess Jasmine for Halloween," Audrey started.
"Yeah!" Zola commented enthusiastically.
"I still have to buy the costume, but yes, Zola's gonna be Princess Jasmine," Derek chuckled.
"What's Henry gonna be for Halloween?" Angela asked, curious.
"I…don't know yet, actually," Addison said. She hadn't really thought about it yet.
"Do you know what you want to be for Halloween?" Angela asked, directing the question at her little brother. Henry thought hard for a minute before his eyes lit up.
"Simba! From Lion King!" Henry decided.
"Oh, that would be so cute," Amelia commented, chuckling.
"I guess we're gonna have to find you a Simba costume," Jake chuckled as Addison smiled back.
"What about you, Audrey? Are you gonna dress up?" Angela asked, before taking a bite out of her omelet. She remembered being a teenager and how her friends around that time started to feel less than enthusiastic about dressing up for Halloween.
"I don't know," Audrey replied honestly.
"Well, if you did want to dress up, hypothetically speaking, what would you want to go as for Halloween?" Addison asked, trying not to pressure the teenager.
"Belle!" Zola exclaimed, answering for her older sister. Everyone laughed back.
"I mean, I guess I could be Belle," Audrey added, giggling.
"You don't have to dress up like Belle just because Zola wants you to. Or you can get two costumes; one for Seattle and one for here," Derek suggested.
"Am I going back for Halloween?" Audrey asked curiously.
"I…we don't know yet, but if you wanted to…," Derek replied, looking over at Addison, who gave him a look back. The plan was to wait until Christmas before sending Audrey back to Seattle, but clearly, Derek had gotten caught up in the moment. They'd previously decided to give Audrey a little more time to settle in L.A. before flying her back and forth for visits and holidays, but if Audrey was open to doing so earlier, Addison didn't want to oppose it.
"Yeah. Two Halloweens might be fun," Audrey replied.
Her parents hadn't exactly said she was going to be celebrating Halloween twice, but part of her wanted to know what her friends were thinking. Halloween was going to be on a Thursday this year, which she figured out after pulling up the calendar on her phone. Hypothetically, she could celebrate Halloween here with her friends and Henry on Friday and then go up to Seattle to celebrate with her little sister on Saturday. It'd make for a little bit of a hectic schedule, but Audrey didn't want either of her siblings to feel left out because she was spending Halloween with one of them, but not the other.
"We'll…think about it," Addison gave in as Derek and Audrey looked at her with hopeful eyes. Derek smiled, knowing Addison would eventually give in to the idea of having two Halloweens.
"So, two Halloweens. If you're going to be Belle in Seattle, what are you going to be here?" Amelia asked.
"I don't know yet," Audrey replied honestly.
"Well, what did you dress up as before?" Amelia asked, feeling guilty about asking after the words had come out of her mouth. They'd all been doing a pretty good job at keeping the past in the past, but the question had just slipped out before she'd realized she'd inadvertently asked about what her past Halloweens with Robert and Eleanor were like.
"Um…I was a witch for Halloween for the longest time, but I was Superman last year," Audrey replied, keeping her answer short.
"Not Supergirl?" Derek asked.
"Uh, technically? No. Supergirl usually wears a skirt as part of her costume and I did the part Clark Kent, part Superman thing where I had my old Superman t-shirt underneath a dress shirt and jeans, and then I wore a broken pair of sunglasses with the lens punched-out as fake glasses," Audrey explained.
Audrey had been used to not having a nice store-bought costume at that point, but she'd always wanted something nice that she didn't have to work so hard to put together. The only reason why she'd even gotten the Superman costume together from last year was because her friends back in Toledo told her witches weren't cool anymore. But how could witches not be cool anymore on Halloween? Audrey had made the same argument to her friends at the time, but they still pushed for her to get a costume at the store.
She didn't get any kind of allowance to buy one herself, so asking Eleanor had been her only choice. They couldn't, or wouldn't, get her something from the store, so Eleanor had at least been nice enough to piece something together so she wouldn't be stuck being a witch again. Audrey wasn't a kid anymore, and she knew Robert and Eleanor could afford to buy a costume at the store, but she knew Robert was behind why they hadn't gotten one for her. He thought it was a waste of money to buy a costume to wear for one day a year. The most they'd ever gotten to decorating the house for any kind of holiday was a fake Christmas tree in the living room and a few stockings hung over the fireplace, which were old hand-me-downs from when Eleanor was a kid.
Despite the lack of holiday decorations in the old Monroe house, Audrey would save the change from when Eleanor had her pay for things like groceries and use it to buy small decorative trinkets that she kept hidden away in her room. Robert and Eleanor knew about it, but whenever a holiday came up, Audrey brought the small decorations out to decorate her room in the little ways she could. Meanwhile, the rest of the house stayed the same.
It broke Derek and Addison's hearts to hear how sad Audrey's previous Halloween costumes were. Derek grew up loving Halloween. Carolyn would get him whatever costume he wanted, and he and Amelia had heard she used to make them for their older sisters. When Mark came along, they started coordinating their costumes: Buzz Lightyear and Woody, Mario and Luigi, Peter Pan and Captain Hook, Batman and Robin. It wasn't until after graduating high school that they took a short break from dressing up for Halloween.
Meanwhile, Addison had never been all that interested in Halloween growing up. She'd dressed up alongside her friends with whatever was popular that year, but Christmas was always her favorite holiday. When she and Derek got together, they decided they'd try their hand at matching couple costumes. Ariel and Prince Eric, Batman and Poison Ivy (since Mark called dibs on being Batman the first time around, and Addison's red hair was perfect for Poison Ivy), and Danny and Sandy from Grease.
"Well, you can go as whoever you want this year. Just let us know and we'll find you a costume for it," Addison said as Derek smiled and nodded in agreement.
Audrey smiled as her excitement started to build over the fact that she could be whatever she wanted for Halloween. And that she'd get to celebrate the holiday twice. She decided she was going to dress up as Belle for Zola when she went to Seattle to celebrate with her little sister, but she didn't know what her other costume would be. Maybe she'd dress up as another superhero and get an actual costume this time. Or maybe she'd wait to see what her friends were planning.
Either way, Audrey decided she was going to be Belle for sure. She'd never dressed up as a princess before, despite Cinderella being her favorite movie growing up. The closest she'd ever been was when Eleanor got her a blue dress when she was a little girl. The color was the same, and Audrey had loved that dress growing up, but even as a kid, she knew it wasn't the same as getting the actual Cinderella dress. But she didn't want to complain about it either. Not unless she wanted Robert to scold her.
She learned at a very young age that Robert was in charge of their household. And Eleanor was just the one who made small strides to please her. But now, Audrey just wondered if Eleanor did that because she really cared for her or if she did it just to make it seem like she cared. Her feelings for Eleanor were still so confusing that she didn't know how much of her childhood had been real. Learning about the kidnapping had opened her eyes to what had really been going on. Maybe Eleanor really did care about her, but Audrey found it hard to accept when she wouldn't help her real parents find Robert, who was still out there somewhere.
"What are you going to be?" Audrey asked, looking over at Angela. She looked surprised back.
"Oh, I don't know yet. I don't even know if I'm dressing up outside of whatever we're doing with Henry. That is, if Henry wants me to dress up with him," Angela said, directing the second half of her sentence toward her little brother, getting him excited. He nodded back enthusiastically.
"I probably shouldn't be Nala, though," Angela joked, making Amelia laugh at the thought.
"Maybe you can be some Disney princess instead," Amelia chuckled.
"What about you guys?" Angela asked, looking at Jake, Addison, and Derek.
Amelia, Angela, and Addison laughed.
"Oh, are we dressing up too?" Jake asked, looking over at Addison.
"Why not?" Audrey shrugged, smiling. The idea of her parents wearing a Halloween costume amused her.
"Derek's probably just going to wear whatever Mark gives him," Amelia commented.
"Mm, remind me to pull out the pictures for you to see," Addison commented, swallowing her water before speaking. Audrey's eyes lit up.
"I think the last time I dressed up for Halloween was with you and your dad," Addison added.
"Wait, you guys dressed up with me, too?" Audrey asked.
"Yeah. We were farmers, and you were our little sheep," Derek said, chuckling.
"A sheep? You guys dressed me up as a sheep?" Audrey asked. Most parents dressed their babies as pumpkins or princesses. But a sheep was new.
"I wanted to do something different, and Derek found the sheep costume," Addison chuckled.
"You know, we were the Shepherds. We had the whole double-meaning thing going for us," Derek commented.
"Except we decided to just dress as farmers because it looked better than dressing like actual shepherds," Addison added.
"That's actually really smart," Angela commented.
"Thank you," Derek said playfully, as if saying, See? She gets it.
Audrey chuckled, making a mental note to ask her mom to find the pictures later. After everyone finished breakfast, they all got dressed and went out for the day. Audrey and her siblings experienced the wonder of going to Disneyland for the first time. Some of the lines for the rides were long, but they all did their best to keep the younger kids distracted by asking random questions and playing little games like I Spy.
Despite having small toddlers with them, Amelia and Angela were nice enough to take Audrey on any other ride she wanted, while Jake, Addison, and Derek watched over the younger kids. Plus, Derek and Addison weren't big rollercoaster fans. Amelia and Angela, however, were. They went on anything and everything they could; Indiana Jones Adventure, the Matterhorn Bobsleds, Space Mountain, and even the Tower of Terror.
"So, what was your favorite ride today?" Amelia asked while they all took a break, sitting at a table outside of the River Belle Terrace restaurant.
"Jungle Cwuise," Henry answered before eating one of the blueberries from his cup of fresh fruit.
"What about you, Zola?" Angela asked. Zola thought about it for a minute before answering.
"The one with the horsies!" Zola replied.
"The carousel?" Derek asked playfully.
"Yeah!" Zola agreed, smiling shyly.
"What about you, Audrey?" Addison asked. Audrey thought about it for a minute.
"Space Mountain," Audrey decided.
"I think that's my favorite, too," Amelia commented.
"I liked Indiana Jones, but Splash Mountain's a close second. It would've been better if we'd brought some extra clothes, but at least we're almost dry now," Angela added.
They hadn't really thought about bringing extra clothes in case they went on water rides like The Matterhorn Bobsleds or Splash Mountain. The sun was out, but it wasn't exactly the sunny warm Los Angeles it usually was, but at least it was clear out. And it wasn't exactly cold as much as it was just a little colder than usual. Despite the lack of extra clothes, Jake had some clean towels in the trunk of the car, so he went out and got them while the girls stood in line.
After the day they'd had at the amusement park, Derek, Addison, and Jake were more than ready to relax. There was a reason Jake and Addison hadn't taken Henry to Disneyland yet, but the idea of taking Audrey was too good of an opportunity to miss. Seeing how excited Audrey was riding the rollercoasters and the pictures they'd bought of her alongside Angela and Amelia on the rides made it all well worth it in the end. Plus, even though it was a lot of waiting in line and keeping the younger kids entertained, the kids, all of them, were having the time of their lives. But they all agreed it'd be a while before taking the kids back to Disneyland.
"My daddy says you're my brother, too, now, Henry," Zola said after a few minutes passed of them eating at the restaurant. Henry tilted his head curiously before looking back at his mom, who was sitting beside him.
"Yeah. You guys are kind of like brother and sister," Addison chuckled.
"Zola my sissy, too?" Henry asked.
"Yes, Zola's your sissy, too," Amelia chuckled.
"So, how many sisters does that make now, Henry?" Jake asked. They'd been working on learning to count along with learning the alphabet for a while now, but Jake and Addison made a conscious effort to get the little boy to practice whenever they could.
"Mm…one, two, three!" Henry exclaimed, looking around at his sisters around the table. They all smiled.
"That's a lot of sisters," Angela said, chuckling.
"Hey, I have four sisters. Four sisters. And not one brother," Derek said, looking at Henry, who gave him a wide-eyed look back.
"We had Mark," Amelia commented. Addison chuckled.
"Don't worry, buddy. You're gonna be just fine with three sisters," Derek said, making Henry smile.
They all spent another hour at Disneyland to let Audrey, Amelia, and Angela ride Space Mountain one more time, letting Jake ride along with them while Derek and Addison went to the car to let Zola and Henry take a nap. They'd parked right beside each other, so Derek and Addison chatted about how happy Audrey looked in the pictures and how excited she was to ride the rollercoasters. But they also agreed that today had been a lot, even if it was only spending half the day at Disneyland rather than a full day.
Jake, Angela, Amelia, and Audrey returned to the cars before they all went back to the house. Zola and Henry continued napping while Derek stuck around for dinner, and Audrey told him all about how she was joining cross country on Monday in addition to now officially being on the volleyball team. Derek was very proud and impressed when she told him she'd aced her first oral French quiz and how she was still trying to figure out how to get the French R sound right, which seemed to come naturally to her mother. Then Addison joined them for a movie, with Audrey falling asleep halfway through, resting her head on Derek's shoulder as Addison grabbed a blanket to drape over her.
An hour later, Zola and Henry came downstairs after their naps, climbing up on the couch beside their parents. Jake let them all rest on the couch together while working at the small dining table behind them before stepping outside to order some takeout for dinner. When the delivery man rang the doorbell, Derek and Addison let Audrey wake up slowly as Derek shifted her over to Addison's shoulder to help pay for dinner. Derek stayed a little after dinnertime to let Audrey get some more quality time with her little sister before saying goodbye and heading to their hotel, promising he wouldn't wait long before coming back again.
A/N: Chapter title inspired by the song, Company You Keep by Maren Morris. Thanks to my friend, Chantel, for suggesting that Zola's favorite Disney princess was Princess Jasmine because she liked the tiger. References include Addison telling Zola that she can call her Addie, which is inspired by the "He called me Addie" line from Grey's Anatomy 18x03, Zola's favorite ride at Disneyland being the carousel is a reference to Meredith's whole thing about the carousel never stops turning tagline, and Derek telling Henry that he has four sisters and no brothers is similar to what he said when Nancy came to visit in Grey's Anatomy 3x06.
This chapter, overall, was fun to write, and as chaotic as that would be to take little kids to Disneyland, it was for sure Derek's idea to take Audrey and something Addison probably tried to talk him out of, but ultimately couldn't in the end. The whole conversation with Zola and Derek in the kitchen was really more to demonstrate how even though things are settling, it's still a little confusing to the younger kids, but they are all still a family even if Derek isn't great at explaining it to little Zola. This whole blended family thing isn't something Derek's used to so he's stumbling when he has to explain it to Zola, but my thought process was that Jake and Addison already have a blended family, so it was just adding more people to the equation, so it was easy for them to just say that Henry, Zola, and William are all siblings and that they were all family (because they are). Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed that one. Until next time!
