Episode 57: Once More with Healing

A crowd has gathered, the stadium is full. In the center of the stadium is a magnificently decorated stage with a large pool of water in the center. The stadium has no roof, allowing the Sun to cast its light onto the stage.

Surely a stage this magnificent can mean only one thing. The time of the Wallace Cup is finally upon us! There's no telling what great performances are about to be held here, so let's just watch instead.

All of a sudden, out of the pristine pool of water rises Wallace himself. As he continues to rise into the air it becomes apparent that he is standing atop his Milotic, which is also rising out of the water now. Wallace has swapped his clothes, now wearing more fashion-heavy clothing with a long green scarf. The audience immediately begins to clap for him.

Once both he and Milotic have emerged from the water, Wallace leaps up into the air and does a backflip, landing on the platform behind him. He declares, "Milotic, use Twister!"

It sings, "Milo!" Milotic summons a large twister that rises from the water.

"Inside of it and use Safeguard!" Milotic leaps into the air and lands in the center of the water twister. It then begins to glow a brilliant gold-green light. That light interplays with the swirling wall of water around it and causes an immense and brilliant shimmering effect to emanate from the twister. "And now for the finale, use Dragon Pulse!" Milotic creates an orb of green energy. That orb immediately explodes into a shockwave that rips apart the twister, sending a fine mist of water in all directions.

Having watched this breathtaking performance, the crowd all break into applause.

Wallace takes a bow. "Thank you one and all, please allow me to welcome you to the Wallace Cup!"

Then Gillian runs out onto the stage, "That's right folks, it's the time you've all been waiting for! The Wallace Cup begins now! But before we get to our first performance, allow me to introduce our judges! You know him, you love him, it's none other than Mr. Contesta!"

Mr. Contesta grins. "I am so pleased to be judging another Wallace Cup. This truly is my favorite event to judge."

"And who else could be next but the remarkable Mr. Sukizo!"

Mr. Sukizo declares, "I was going to say remarkable myself, but you beat me to it!"

"And of course, where would we be without Celes City's very own Nurse Joy!"

Nurse Joy smiles broadly. "I can't begin to tell you how happy it makes me to be given the honor of judging a Wallace Cup!"

"And last, but most certainly not least, it's the man of the hour himself! Without him this entire event would be impossible. As a special guest judge, we have Contest Master Wallace!"

Still standing next to Gillian, Wallace leaps onto Milotic's back, who transports him to the side of the stage. He then leaps into an empty judging chair and takes a seat. "I am proud to say that the Wallace Cup always brings out the best in coordinators everywhere! I expect a great show! And who knows? Maybe one of the contestants will become the next Contest Master!"

There is a massive applause. Every single person in the audience seems to be beyond excited for this event.

Backstage, Brenda, Ash, Dawn, and May all watch as the first coordinator comes onto the stage. Brenda and Dawn are wearing their normal contest outfits, Ash is wearing a tuxedo, and May is dressed in a frilly pink dress with lots of sparkles that makes her look like a popstar. Dawn is holding Piplup in her arms.

Brenda whispers to herself, "This is it…I'm actually doing this…I'm entering another contest…"

Dawn hears this muttering and tells her, "Hey, no need to worry, everything's going to be fine. With your talent plus all the training we've been doing the past couple of days you're going to do great."

Brenda nods. "Right. I just can't help but feel apprehensive about this."

May advises, "Don't let that get to you. I've been doing contests for quite a while now, and yet I still feel nervous before every one I enter, especially one as big as the Wallace Cup."

Dawn nods in agreement. "It's the same for me. You should have seen what a nervous wreck I used to be. I may not be that bad any more, but I still can't help but feel nervous. It's only natural."

Brenda responds, "Yes, I've just got to have faith that the training I did was enough."

Dawn and May both nod and say, "Exactly."

Brenda turns to Ash and asks, "What about you, how are you feeling?"

Ash grins. "I'm excited. This is nothing but for fun for me, but it's a great chance to try out battling in alternative ways. It's a perfect way to train."

Brenda chuckles. "Of course you look at it like that."

Will walks by and catches Brenda's eyes. He looks to her too. For a few tense moments the two of them just stare at each other intensely. Will then scoffs and turns away. Brenda says under her breath, "Will…" She clenches her fist and says with determination, "I will prove that I am worthy of calling myself a coordinator. Just you wait and see."

A voice over an intercom announces, "Ash Ketchum to the main stage."

Ash grins. "Looks like I'm up next."

Dawn wishes him, "Good luck."

Ash takes Pikachu and hands it to Brenda. "Stay here with Brenda, Pikachu, alright?"

Pikachu nods. "Pik."

Ash then runs out.

Gillian announces, "Our next performance comes in the form of Ash Ketchum!"

Ash runs out onto the stage as the audience claps. Ash waves to them and asks, "How's everyone doing?" He then takes his position on stage and pulls out a Pokéball. "Dashilisk, I chose you!" He throws the Pokéball and Dashilisk emerges in a spray of water from the ball's seal.

As soon as it appears, it begins to do its happy dance. "Dashi dashi dashilisk!"

"Alright Dashilisk, Extreme Speed!" Dashilisk instantly gets serious, or at least as serious as Dashilisk can get, and runs off at high speeds. It dashes across the water and begins to run in circles on it.

Gillian exclaims, "Look at that, you're seeing one of the wonders of the Pokémon world right here! It's no accident that Dashilisk is known as the Water-Walking Pokémon!"

"Alright Dashilisk, use Dragon Claw!" Dashilisk, while still running its laps, generates a field of green energy around its claws. As it runs, its dips its hand into the water, causing a wake to form behind it. The green light from the Dragon Claw can be seen glowing underneath the water. Dashilisk runs along the very edge of the pool, causing the water from its wake to splash up and spray people in the front row.

Gillian laughs. "And now it looks like those seated in our splash zone are receiving their first splash of the day."

Everyone in the front row laugh at each other.

Ash then shouts, "Okay, now use Scald, straight down!" Dashilisk leaps up into the air sprays a stream of steaming water down into the pool. The moment the hot water of the Scald and the cold water of the pool meet a large cloud of steam is created, completely cloaking Dashilisk.

"What's this? The steam created by Dashilisk's Scald heating up the pool has completely obscured it! What is Ash planning?"

To answer her, Ash declares, "Aqua Jet, let's go!" Dashilisk bursts into sight, using Aqua Jet to rise up and out of the steam. It then begins to circle around the cloud of steam as fast as it can. This causes a funnel effect and lifts the steam up and causes it to spread disperse across the stadium.

Gillian closes her eyes and rubs her cheek. "Feel that steam on the skin? Not only does it look pretty, but it's like we all get a sauna too! How great!"

The entire audience seem to be enjoying their sauna.

Dashilisk lands next to Ash and begins to dance around in triumph. Ash takes a bow.

Mr. Contesta declares, "What a wonderful performance. You and Dashilisk used the water theme of the Wallace Cup absolutely perfectly!"

Mr. Sukizo predictably says, "Absolutely remarkable!"

Nurse Joy comments, "You and Dashilisk focused on a combination of showmanship and audience interaction. How creative!"

Wallace grins. "If I had not already known that you didn't enter contests on a regular basis I would have thought for sure you were a regular. It was absolutely magnificent to see you come out of your comfort zone once again."

Up in the audience, Brock marvels, "Wow, Wallace remembers Ash from last time they met, that's pretty cool."

Max complains, "I wish I could have met Wallace…"

Backstage, Brenda says, "Wow, Ash may not be a Pokémon Coordinator, but he could have fooled me."

May states, "That's the thing about Ash. You may think he's just a one-trick pony, but he can adapt to just about anything, this only goes to prove it."

Dawn agrees, "You've got that right."

Who's that Pokémon!?

This Pokémon has the habit of carrying prey and valuables in its beak and hiding them in all sorts of locations. It rides the winds and flies as if it were skating across the sky.

Several performances later, Gillian announces, "Our next performer will be none other the Princess of Hoenn herself, give it up for May!"

May runs out on stage with the crowd cheering for her. She throws a Pokéball. "Skitty, take the stage!" A flurry of hearts emerge from the Pokéball, and out of those hearts comes Skitty.

Skitty eagerly attempts to catch several of the hearts. The audience is captivated by its cuteness immediately.

May grins, seeing that she has the audience right where she wants them. "Skitty, use Blizzard!" Skitty attacks with a powerful wind of ice and snow. The Blizzard attack first agitates the water in the pool, blowing it up into the air, and then flash freezes it. The result is a large structure made entirely of ice. "Great job Skitty, now use Assist straight up in the air!" Skitty points its paw upwards and generates an orb of white light. Out of the light comes a stream of petals.

Backstage, Brenda exclaims, "That's Petal Dance! How is Skitty using Petal Dance!?"

Ash exclaims, "That move is called Assist, it allows May's Skitty to randomly use a move known by another Pokémon she has with her. This must be Venusaur's Petal Dance."

Brenda thinks, "So she just used a completely random move without knowing what the result will be? That's risky."

Ash nods. "It sure is. I bet that's what May is counting on."

Upon seeing the Petal Dance, May thinks fast and orders, "Alright Skitty, aim it at the ice! Carve it away!" Skitty aims its attack and begins to sweep it across the ice. It is quickly carved down and given some shape by the petals.

Gillian marvels, "That may have just been a random attack, but May instantly figured out what she wanted to do with it. Something tells me we're seeing the show as its being created!"

May declares, "Alright Skitty, Assist into the air again!" Skitty aims its attack up again. This time a jet of fire is shot up.

Max cheers, "Alright, that's Blaziken's Overheat!"

May thinks fast and orders, "Alright Skitty, let's further shape that ice!" Skitty aims the attack at the ice once more, this time melting down parts here and there. The result is what seems to be a series of pathways that go up and down and twist left and right made of ice. May grins. "Perfect. Let's have one last Assist." Skitty aims up once more. This time it's a torrent of water. "Point the Hydro Pump straight down!" Skitty does so and it uses the Hydro Pump to launch itself into the air. It lands on the top of the ice structure and slides down one of the icy paths. It now begins to slide all over the place. It is seen going off jumps, going up hills, down hills, and zigzagging all around. All this time it happily cheers. It seems to be having a lot of fun. One final ramp launches it into the air and it lands next to May. She takes a bow.

The crowd applauds and Gillian announces, "What a great a performance, but don't ask me, ask our judges!"

Mr. Contesta says, "You went into this performance with a plan flexible enough to account for any bit of randomness that might have come from Skitty's Assist. That's wonderful."

Mr. Sukizo exclaims, "The way you adapted to anything was remarkable!"

Nurse Joy comments, "The fact that half of the moves you used where selected completely at random only increases the splendor of your performance."

Wallace judges, "We normally have to wait until the Battle Rounds to see how you adapt when put on the spot, but right here and now, in the Appeal Stage, you showed us that you can roll with any punch. A great showing indeed."

Gillian announces, "And there you have it!"

It's Wingull!

After several other performances, Gillian declares, "Our next coordinator is truly one of kind. She claims she's a princess, and who are we to argue? Give it up for Jessileia!"

Jessie literally dances out onto the stage, spinning and twirling around. She greets, "Greetings to all my wonderful fans out there, I dedicate this next work of art to you! For without you, I wouldn't be as popular!" She throws her Pokéball and out comes Repiv, surrounded by sparkles of light created by a seal. "But before we begin, I think a costume change is in order!" She throws aside her dress, revealing that she's wearing a swimsuit underneath.

Everyone in the audience is taken by surprise. They are unsure of how to react to this.

Jessie looks to Wallace and winks at him. "This is for you, Wallace darling." She blows him a kiss.

It looks like Wallace is left feeling awkward by this. He forces a grin.

Jessie then declares, "Now Repiv dear, into the water!" Repiv slithers into the pool and Jessie dives right in. The two surface together. "Now, begin!" Together the two of them begin what can only be described as a synchronized swimming act. They swim in circles around each other, Repiv's long serpentine body creating an interesting spiral effect in the process. They then both dive down underwater, disappearing from sight. Then, in a move certainly borrowing from Wallace, Jessie begins to rise out of the water, standing on the head of Repiv. She blows kisses to the audience all around her, then one special one for Wallace, and then dives back into the water. The two continue to swim and weave around each other. After a little longer of this Jessie leaps out of the water, landing back on the stage. "Now use Acid." Repiv sticks its head straight up out of the water as high as it can, and then sprays a stream of acid upwards, creating a fountain effect.

The audience begins to clap. James and Meowth, dressed as Jessileia's assistants, run out onto the stage and give Jessie a towel.

Gillian declares, "I'm willing to bet that none of you were expecting to be treated to synchronized swimming show when you came to the Wallace Cup! Were our judges?"

Mr. Contesta shakes his head. "I wasn't that's for sure. It was a truly unique way to utilize the Wallace Cup's signature water stage."

Mr. Sukizo declares, "What a remarkable show!"

Nurse Joy says, "Just as the name synchronized swimming infers, you and Repiv were perfectly in synch. It was a joy to watch you move as one."

Wallace says, "I am also proud to see coordinators come up with new and unique ways to use the water to put on a show. As a water showman myself, I certainly appreciate the display."

Jessie is ecstatic. "Oh Wallace darling, thank you so much! It is you who inspires me to be as good as I am! I wouldn't be the same flawless coordinator I am if it weren't for you!" She continues to rant on like that.

James and Meowth look to each other. Meowth silently fake gags. James nods in agreement. They them grab a hold of Jessie and drag her off stage as she continues to gush thanks and praise herself at the same time.

Now Dawn is out on the stage and ready to begin. She elegantly throws her Pokéball. "Pachirisu, spotlight!" The Pokéball explodes with a burst of color and light. From that light and color emerges Pachirisu. "Alright Pachirisu, let's give the judges a show they won't forget! Use Swift!"

Pachirisu leaps up into the air and fires a volley of stars from its tail. These stars are aimed at the pool. Upon impact they cause the water to splash up into the air.

"Quickly now, use Discharge!"

"Pachiiiiiiiiii!" Pachirisu unleashes a shockwave of electricity in all directions. Most of the tendrils of electricity are attracted to the water moving through the air and begin to conduct through that water, causing a show of electricity arcing back and forth across the constantly shifting form of the falling water.

"Just perfect! Now use Swift again!" Pachirisu sends forth another volley of high-speed stars made of light. This time they are sent in various directions. Moments later the stars begin to impact with the electrified water. The water, electricity, and stars all combine and explode into a cascade of sparkling light the gently falls to the ground.

The audience erupts in applause. Gillian commentates, "What a great show Dawn and Pachirisu have put on. It was a wonderful display of light, electricity, and water!"

Mr. Contesta agrees, "It was a short performance, but relative to its length, its spectacle was grand. Great job!"

Mr. Sukizo proclaims, "Stunningly remarkable!"

Nurse Joy says, "The gentle sparkles at the end contrasted with the more violent nature of electrified water just perfectly."

Wallace nods. "There is nothing that I can say that has not already been said. Could this be your second win at the Wallace Cup?"

Backstage, Brenda comments, "Wow, everyone is doing so well. The pressure really is on me to make my comeback, and make it right." She sighs with some anxiety.

Will is up on stage now, and his Ravenoir flies in front of him. "Ravenoir, let's do this! Wing Attack, just like we practiced!" Ravenoir flies high up into the air, up above all of the audience. Its wings begin to glow. Once it hits its apex, it does a midair backflip and goes into a nose dive heading straight down at the pool. As the pool draws closer and closer, Ravenoir refuses to budge, it continues to head straight down. Then, only inches away from crashing into the water, Ravenoir manages a skillful 90 degree turn so that it's flying just above the surface of the water. It tilts its body so that the Wing Attack slices right through it, causing a wave of water to erupt upwards and surge to the side.

Gillian marvels, "Wow! Such masterful control over its maneuvers!"

Backstage Brenda wonders aloud quietly, "Wow…is that what you can do when you train…?"

Will commands, "Back up, Ravenoir!" The moment Ravenoir hits the edge of the pool it performs another 90 degree turn, this time heading straight up. "Dark Pulse!" Ravenoir creates an orb formed from a collection of dark rings. It launches the attack up ahead of it. "Now Air Slash!" Ravenoir then flaps its wings and generates a blade of wind that is also sent up ahead of it. This attack is launched with a higher speed than the last, causing it to catch up and collide with it. The two attacks collide and explode, just as Ravenoir itself is about to collide with them, down to the second. But Ravenoir flies straight on through unharmed as a shower of shadows rains down. The crowd is captivated. Ravenoir flies back down and perches on Will's arm. There is a great applause.

Mr. Contesta declares, "That was a perfect showcase of both skill and precision."

Mr. Sukizo adds, "The amount of training you put into this display had to have been remarkable!"

Nurse Joy states, "It was simply breathtaking to watch your Ravenoir move with such precision. Great job."

Lastly, Wallace judges, "You and your Ravenoir are obviously in top condition. Let this be a lesson to aspiring coordinators everywhere, training will get you the best results. Thank you Will."

Backstage, May comments, "Wow, that Will is something else. I can see why you think so highly of him Brenda."

Brenda responds by nervously nodding her head. "Mm hm."

It is announced over the intercom, "Brenda to the main stage, you are next."

Brenda gulps. "This is it…"

Ash encourages, "Hey, you'll do great out there. I just know it."

Dawn nods in agreement. "Yeah, I know I say this a lot, but no need to worry."

Brenda wordlessly turns around and leaves. While she's walking towards the stage, she says to herself, "This is it…I'm actually doing this…I'm doing what I swore I would never do again, I'm entering a Pokémon Contest. There's no going back after this… Do I really want to do this?"

Then she looks up to see Will ahead of her. They're about to cross paths. Brenda stops. She starts to say, "Will…you and Ravenoir were great out there. I'm going up next and-"

He cuts her off, "And what? You want me to wish you luck? What you saw me do out there was because of hours of training. Undoubtedly you're going to go out there and do what you do best. Rely purely on luck. No, I won't wish you luck." He walks off.

Brenda is frozen in horror. She says to herself, "I can't do this…"

But then she hears something. It's Gillian announcing, "Our next coordinator is another Tenno Region local. She came all the way from Tenno Minor to compete here today, so let's give her one big round of applause! It's Brenda!" The crowd begins to cheer.

Suddenly Brenda is filled with a new sense of determination. "No, enough of this self-pity and weakness. I've changed. I may not have deserved to be a coordinator before, but I do now. I've put in the work, and it's time for the payoff. Yeah! Let's do this!" She runs forward and out onto the stage. She takes her position and pulls out a Pokéball. "Frostcicle, center stage!"

Frostcicle appears in flurry of snow created by the seal. It cheers, "Frost frost!"

Brenda asks, "Hey Frostcicle, want to put a smile on my face?"

Frostcicle nods. "Frost!"

"Good, then let's do this just like we practiced! Into the pool!" Frostcicle lunges forward and actually drops itself into the pool.

Gillian asks, "What's this? Frostcicle seems to have completely submerged itself into the pool! What does Brenda have planned?"

Brenda grins. She has a flashback. She and Dawn are in the process of training together. They stand next to a lake. Dawn explains, "The Wallace Cup is known for its signature water stage. A large pool will take up most of the performance stage. What you do with that pool is up to you, but using it properly is the way to win for sure."

Brenda nods. "So I want to focus on using Kappaqua then, since it's my only Water-Type."

Dawn shakes her head. "Not necessarily. Pokémon other than Water-Types can interact with water in different ways. Try to think creatively."

Brenda thinks for a moment. "I know! My Frostcicle is an Ice-Type, which should mean I can do a whole lot of different interactions with the water."

Dawn nods. "Exactly. Why don't we try to figure some of those things out right here in this lake?"

Back in the present, Brenda orders, "Frostcicle, use Aurora Beam!" Still submerged underwater, Frostcicle begins to freeze the very water around it. Within moments the entire pool is frozen with Frostcicle inside.

Gillian gasps. "Frostcicle has frozen itself within the pool! How will it do anything now!?"

Brenda is caught in another flashback. Slightly later in the training, Frostcicle has submerged itself in the lake. Brenda suggests, "Alright Frostcicle, try freezing the water around you with Aurora Beam." Frostcicle freezes the lake around it. Brenda nods in approval. "Great, now use your Crystal Beam!" But nothing happens. Brenda asks with worry, "Um…Frostcicle?" She runs up to the lake's edge to see that Frostcicle has trapped itself in the ice and is unable to do anything while frozen like this. Brenda panics. "Oh no, what do I do!? This is hopeless! I've already screwed up! There's no way I'm going to succeed in the actual contest."

Dawn comforts, "Hey, you're missing the point of training. Think about it, if you had tried this combination during the contest itself for the first time, you would have been instantly disqualified. But since we're only training now, we've got plenty of time to figure out a way to fix it. Now come on, let's get Frostcicle out of there and try something else."

The flashback skips ahead in time a little while. Still training with Frostcicle, Brenda declares, "I've got it! Frostcicle, let's try freezing the lake again, but this time spin your body around as fast as you can while you're doing it!"

Back in reality, it is revealed that underneath the ice Frostcicle is rotating at a high speed. It slows down, showing that it has created an air pocket in the ice with its spinning. Brenda orders, "Use Crystal Beam!" Frostcicle charges internal energies and then refracts it through its body, unleashing it in the form of a beam. That beam is then further refracted by the ice surrounding it. The entire surface of the frozen pool begins to sparkle with a dazzling orange light.

Backstage Dawn cheers, "Yeah, it worked! We put a lot of training into that one!"

Gillian asks, "That' a wonderful show, but how will Frostcicle ever get out of that ice?"

Brenda has yet another flashback. Dawn asks, "One last problem, how will Frostcicle ever get out of the ice?"

Brenda looks to Frostcicle's glittering ice lake. "Oh…I guess we can't have another Pokémon break it out in the middle of a performance. Hmm…hey, I know!"

In the present, Brenda declares, "Alright, let's break free with Mist!" Frostcicle exhales a breath of mist. This mist completely fills its small air pocket. Upon doing so it has nowhere to go except up, and it cracks the ice suddenly. Suddenly all of the mist created bursts out of the air pocket at once and covers the stage. Frostcicle floats out. Brenda then orders, "Absolutely perfect! Now let's finish this off with Aurora Beam once more!" Frostcicle circles around and attacks with its chromatic beam. The multispectral light of the beam is distorted by the mist around it, causing a glimmering show of light. The mist then clears and all the audience erupts in clapping.

Brock and Max give her a standing ovation. Brock says, "She really pulled it all off."

Backstage Dawn declares, "Our training perfectly prepared her for that."

Ash says, "That was something else alright."

May cheers, "Way to go, Brenda!"

Even Will can be seen looking closely at the screen.

Mr. Contesta says, "I must admit, you scared me at first when you had your Frostcicle freeze itself into that pool, but the fact that you did that and then went on to put on a spectacular light show goes to show how much work and thought you must have put into this."

Mr. Sukizo declares, "I'm so speechless, I'll just say remarkable!"

Nurse Joy comments, "You mentioned at the beginning that your Frostcicle wanted to put a smile on people's face, and I can assure you that that's what you did. There's not a face in this room that isn't smiling."

Wallace closes things up by saying, "Your performance was a truly unique one. It takes some serious dedication on both you and your Pokémon's part to perform such a show." Then, as if he knows something, he adds, "You certainly deserve to be in this contest, and I am so glad you entered."

Brenda smiles profusely upon hearing this. Seeing Brenda smile causes Frostcicle to smile too. It cheers happily, "Frost frost frost!"

Gillian announces, "And there you have it folks! That concludes our Appeals Stage! Please stay tuned while our judges deliberate over who will move on to the next round!"

Brenda arrives backstage. Not only are Ash, Dawn, and May waiting for her, but Brock and Max have also come down too. Ash exclaims, "You were great out there Brenda, no joke!"

Dawn says, "See, all that training we did really payed off, didn't it?"

Brenda smiles. "Thank you, everyone. I'm so sorry I acted the way I did. That wasn't right of me. I should have never given up. I should have figured out what was wrong and fixed it." She looks to Dawn. "And now thanks to you, I have. Thank you so much." She stops and smiles. "I have the best friends in the world."

Before anyone can say anything else, Gillian announces on the screen, "Alright, it's time to announce the results! Sixteen lucky coordinators will move on to the Battle Round, where they'll fight it out to prove that they're worthy of winning the Aqua Ribbon. Please turn your attention to the big screen!"

Faces begin to appear. Immediately Brenda's appears as the first. She jumps up in excitement. Following hers is Will's. A couple of faces later Dawn, followed by May, then Ash, and just making it in is Jessie. Other notable faces on the screen include Drew, Harley, and Zoey.

Ash cheers, "Yeah, all four of us made it to the Battle Round!"

May exclaims, "That's great! This is going to be fun!"

Max says, "I'm so excited, this is going to be great to watch, you four are going to put on such a show for sure!"

Brock nods in agreement. "I'm sure we spectators can count on that."

Dawn points to the screen. "Hey look, they've posted who's battling who."

Everyone looks. The first battle is May and Ash. Brenda is facing an unknown coordinator, and Dawn is facing Jessie.

May and Ash look to each other. Ash says, "I guess we're battling already."

May nods. "Looks like it. I can't wait!"

Ash agrees, "Neither can I."

With the closing of the Wallace Cup's Appeal Stage, it appears that Brenda is putting a close on a chapter of her life. From this point on she's an entirely new coordinator. That's something to look forward to alright. Speaking of things to look forward to, who isn't looking forward to Ash and May's battle? It's sure to great, so stay tuned!

To Be Continued…
