Episode 60: What You Seed is What You Get
Ash, Brock, and Brenda are walking through Celes City. The Wallace Cup may be over, but that doesn't mean that our heroes are ready to leave the beautiful Celes City quite yet.
Brenda says, "So now we can finally check out the Park Zone."
Ash questions, "So what is the Park Zone?"
Brenda explains, "You see, most of northern Tenno is national park land. The Park Zone is a specific portion of that land that has been turned into special nature preserve for Pokémon. Due to its unique collection of various landscapes it has all sorts of Pokémon living there. Because of all of those different types of Pokémon they host Safari Games there."
Ash asks, "What's a Safari Game?"
Brock replies, "Come on Ash, you should know. Don't you remember the Safari Zone in Kanto, where you caught your 30 Tauros? That was a Safari Game."
Ash nods with realization. "Oh yeah. How could I forget? For some reason that whole episode is a little hazy in my memory. Strange."
Brenda asks with amusement, "Thirty Tauros? Don't you think that's a little excessive?"
Ash shrugs. "What can I say? I got too excited and they seemed to be just asking to be caught." He then declares, "Now let's go check out that Safari Game."
The three of them arrive at the front desk of the gate to the Park Zone. Ash walks up to the desk and says, "We'd like to participate in the Safari Game please."
The receptionist nods. "Alright then." She pulls out three sack from under the desk and place them on top. "If each of you would please take one bag. These bags each contain 30 Safari Balls. These are the only Pokéballs that you're allowed to use while in the Park Zone. Also, please note that using your Pokémon to battle the wild Pokémon is strictly prohibited. You must attempt to catch the Pokémon using only these Safari Balls. You will be alerted when your time runs out. Is this acceptable?"
Ash nods. "Sure is." He snatches up one of the sacks and puts it in his backpack. "This should be fun, right Pikachu?"
Pikachu nods in agreement. "Pik."
Brenda and Brock also pick up their sacks. The receptionist smiles to them and wishes, "Good luck."
They all walk out the back exit and into the Park Zone. What they find awaiting them is a lush and verdant forest. Brenda says, "This first area is the Forest Zone. The Park Zone is split up into five environmentally distinct zones, each one with its own terrain and Pokémon."
Ash excitedly begins to look around. "Alright, where are all those Pokémon? Which one will I catch first?" He notices a bush rustling and out of it comes a Dunsparce. Ash quickly pulls a green Safari Ball out of his bag. "Alright, there's a Pokémon." He throws it. "Go, Safari Ball!"
Ash's shouting alerts the Dunsparce to Ash's presence. It turns to see the Pokéball coming at it. With fright it leaps into the air and flies away, causing the Safari Ball to miss entirely.
Ash groans, "Not again…"
Brock comments, "Trying to catch Pokémon without battling them first sure is a whole different ball game. You've got to be more clever about how you approach it."
Brenda grins. "I guess shouting 'go Safari Ball!' might not be the best technique."
Ash scratches the back of his head. "Yeah, guess I got a bit ahead of myself there. Oops…" He then perks back up. "But can't let that one failure stop me. We've just got to keep on looking." So they venture deeper into the forest.
After walking for a little bit, Brenda points, "Hey look, there's some Pokémon!" Out of the bushes comes a group of Grass-Type Pokémon, including a Nuzleaf, Pansage, Gloom, and Exeggcute. They are led by a Breloom. They seem to be heading somewhere specific.
Brock comments, "That's odd, where do you think they're going?"
The question is answered once they all stop and circle around a tree. The Breloom steps up to the tree and laughs. It then jabs at the tree trunk forcefully, shaking the entire tree. Out of the tree falls several large seeds.
Brenda asks, "What do they want with those seeds?"
Brock points out, "Those aren't seeds, look closer."
He's right, these aren't seeds at all, they're seed-shaped Pokémon, which begin to get up and run around frantically. Their main body and face is the seed itself, while they have arms and legs formed from root sprouts emerging from the seed. Growing off the top of the head is a small sprout with two leaves.
Ash pulls out his Pokédex. "Traineed, the Seed Pokémon and a Grass-Type. Traineed can do very little in the way of fighting due their small stature and weak limbs, but they dream of nothing more than to become powerful. They will dedicate much of their time to training in order to achieve this goal. Evolves into Arborrior by training with a Fighting-Type move."
The Traineed all run around, attempting to get away from the tree, but the ring of Grass-Types blocks them in. Then, completely unprovoked, the Breloom jabs at one of the Traineed, knocking it to the ground. It laughs, as do all the others in its gang. Then all of the Grass-Types begin to attack the Traineed for no apparent reason. They all continue to laugh and seem to enjoy it.
Ash clenches his fist in outrage. "They're bullies!" With instinct alone, he pulls out a Pokéball and throws it. "Falcoknight, stop this now!"
Falcoknight appears, but the moment it does, Brenda insists, "Ash, remember that you're not allowed to use your Pokémon for battling in here."
Ash realizes his mistake. "But I can't just stand here and do nothing."
Brock says, "There's nothing you can do Ash."
Ash and Falcoknight both sigh with shame.
Then Brenda shouts, "Hey, look at that!"
Ash looks up to see that a new Traineed has appeared outside the ring of Pokémon. It lectures, "Train traineed! Train!"
The Breloom turns around towards this new Traineed and grins maliciously. It slowly approaches the seed Pokémon and cracks its knuckles. The Traineed shows no fear and doesn't stand down.
Ash says with admiration, "That Traineed is sticking up for all of its buddies." Falcoknight watches with special interest.
Breloom stops right in front of Traineed. It's four times larger than Traineed, but Traineed shows no signs of intimidation. Breloom eggs Traineed on with a beckoning motion. Traineed leaps into action and attempts to attack Breloom with a sweeping kick.
Brock exclaims, "That's a Low Sweep attack!"
However, the incoming attack has absolutely no effect on Breloom. Traineed's leg hits Breloom's foot, but with not nearly enough force to trip it. Breloom begins laugh. "Bre bre bre bre bre!" Its gang, who has stopped attacking the other Traineed and started watching this, all join it in its laughter. Breloom then pulls back its arm and its hand begins to glow white. It launches a powerful punch attack, hitting Traineed and sending it flying backwards, only to slam into a tree behind it.
Falcoknight cries out, "Falllllllco!"
Breloom assesses its handiwork and nods with content. It turns around and walks away after beckoning for its gang to follow. They all leave. The remaining Traineed all run away.
Ash immediately runs over to the fallen Traineed with Falcoknight flying behind him. He kneels down and says, "Hey, that was pretty cool what you did back there, standing up for your friends. You're really brave."
Traineed manages to gather the strength to look up towards Ash. As soon as it sees him it gets up and runs away into the forest.
Brenda asks, "What was up with that?"
Brock says, "It just took a major beating. I don't think it wants to face anyone after that."
Ash gets up and says with determination, "That gang of Grass-Types is nothing but a group of big bullies. We can't let this continue."
Brenda asks, "But what can we do? We can't use our Pokémon to battle them."
"Our Pokémon may not be able to battle here, but Traineed can. We have to help Traineed achieve its goal being stronger so that it can protect its friends."
Falcoknight agrees, "Falco."
Ash smiles. "So you're with me Falcoknight?"
"Falllllllcoknight!"
Brock suggests, "Traineed must remind Falcoknight of itself when it was an Apprentichick. Both Apprentichick and Traineed share the common goal of wanting to become strong, and they'll both endlessly train to achieve that goal."
Ash asks, "Is that the case Falcoknight? Do you want to help Traineed get stronger?"
Falcoknight nods. "Falco."
Ash grins. "Then that's exactly what we'll do. Come on, let's find that Traineed." He runs off in the direction Traineed left. Brock and Brenda follow.
Who's that Pokémon!?
This Pokémon avoids unnecessary disputes, but it will decimate anything that threatens its pride.
Ash, Brock, and Brenda walk through the woods searching for Traineed. Ash calls out, "Traineed!"
Brenda shouts, "Where are you!?"
Brock calls, "Come out, come out wherever you are!"
Brenda asks, "How are we supposed to find such a little Pokémon in this gigantic forest?"
Ash says with determination, "We've just got to keep on looking. We can't give up on Traineed."
Then down from the sky flies Falcoknight. It declares, "Fallllllcoknight!"
Ash asks excitedly, "Did you find Traineed, Falcoknight?"
Falcoknight nods. "Falco."
"Show us the way, then!"
Falcoknight flies off and Ash, Brock, and Brenda follow after it. It leads them through the woods to a small meadow. In the middle of the meadow are two large rocks. Standing in front of one of them is Traineed, who is continuously kicking the rock. "Trainnn…eed! Trainnnn…eed! Trainnnn…eed!"
Ash runs up towards the training seed. "Hey, Traineed! Are you training to get stronger? That's awesome!"
The Traineed turns around in surprise to see Ash. It leaps into the air and launches a Razor Leaf attack from the sprout on its head. "Traineed!"
Ash leaps back a step, causing the Razor Leaves to hit the ground right in front of his feet. Ash tries to reason, "We're not here to hurt you, Traineed. We want to help you. We want to help you achieve your goal and become stronger so you can beat those bullies."
Traineed, who was ready to launch another attack, freezes up upon hearing this. It seems to be considering Ash's words. Then it suddenly launches another Razor Leaf attack angrily, forcing Ash to jump back and out of the way again. It turns around again and returns to its kicking exercises.
Ash says, "I don't get it. Why doesn't Traineed want our help?"
Brock suggests, "It might be a pride issue. Maybe Traineed has too much pride to except help from a human."
Brenda states, "I may be new to this whole training thing, but maybe it just doesn't think you have any means of helping it."
Ash thinks aloud, "Hmm…how do we prove to Traineed that we can help?"
Brenda points forward. "Looks like Falcoknight has an idea."
Ash turns around to see that Falcoknight is flying over to Traineed. It lands next it, in front of the second rock. Traineed eyes it cautiously. Falcoknight turns to face the rock and delivers a powerful kick to the rock, causing some of it to chip away. This surprises Traineed. Falcoknight beckons to Traineed's rock and says, "Falco falc," as if suggesting that Traineed should give it a try.
Traineed nods. It turns back to its rock and delivers a kick that is much less powerful than Falcoknight's.
Falcoknight shakes its head. "Knight." It then demonstrates its kick again, once again chipping the boulder.
Traineed nods once more. It once again returns attention to its boulder and attempts another kick, this time more closely imitating Falcoknight's technique. It looks back to Falcoknight questioningly. "Train?"
Falcoknight nods. "Falco," indicating that it is on the right path.
While the two of them continue to discuss kicking tactics, Brock says, "I guess all we needed to do was prove to Traineed that we really could help it. Once it saw how powerful Falcoknight's kick was, there was no way it could turn down the help."
Ash cheers, "Way to go, Falcoknight!"
Watching them train, Brenda comments, "It's actually kind of cute watching those two train together."
Traineed continues to attempt to replicate Falcoknight's kick, and Falcoknight continues to give Traineed pointers and demonstrations.
It's Empoleon!
Team Rocket sneaks their way through the Forest Zone. They all carry butterfly nets with them. Jessie says in an overly sweet voice, "Come on you little Pokémon, Jessie wants to play with you."
Meowth complains, "Where are all those Pokémon? This place is supposed to packed full of them."
Beckoning to his net, James comments, "Why are we even trying to catch Pokémon here like this? Isn't the purpose of this place to catch Pokémon?"
Jessie answers, "Yeah, but that would be the morally responsible thing to do."
Meowth agrees, "And if there's one thing that Team Rocket isn't, it's morally responsible. We're going to catch all the Pokémon we can, and do it as illicitly as we can."
They keep on moving and hunting for Pokémon. A little later, Jessie stops and declares, "I'm famished. Fortunately, I still have a little something left over from lunch." She pulls out a sandwich and prepares to eat it. Just before she plops it in her mouth, a Breloom leaps out of nowhere and grabs the food right out of her hands. It lands on the ground next to its gang of Grass-Types and tosses the food into its mouth, swallowing it whole. It laughs at Jessie as do all the other Grass Pokémon. Jessie angrily shouts, "Why you little!" She leaps at Breloom, but Breloom jumps safely out of the way and Jessie falls to the ground. Breloom laughs again. It then beckons forward and it and its gang leave.
James, somewhat stunned from the sudden events, comments, "Well…that just happened…"
Jessie gets up and angrily stomps her feet. "Why that no good mushroom Pokémon! How dare it steal my food!?" She turns to Meowth and James. "It's been decided what Pokémon we're going to catch. I'm going to get revenge by poaching that pestilent Pokémon posse."
Meowth suddenly declares, "Hey, that's a great idea!"
James and Jessie both question, "It is?"
Meowth nods. "Sure, that group of Grass-Types would be the perfect gift for The Boss."
James and Jessie question, "It would?"
Meowth nods again. "Absolutely." He leaps into fantasy mode. "Imagine this; The Boss, he's looking out his office window at his garden, and he's thinking-"
James cuts Meowth off, "I hate to rain on your parade, but I'm pretty sure The Boss doesn't have a garden."
Meowth continues, "Of course he doesn't, he's the Team Rocket Boss! He's too busy to worry about having a green thumb. That doesn't mean he doesn't want to have a garden. So anyways, he's looking out over what could be his garden, seeing nothing but empty dirt. He complains, 'Oh how much I would love to have a garden that's as top notch as Team Rocket itself is, one fit for the cover of Headquarters and Gardens Monthly, but I just don't have the time.' Now that's where we come in with a gift of that gang of Grass-Types." Jessie, James, and Meowth in fantasy form enter fantasy Giovanni's office and dump a wheelbarrow full of Grass Pokémon onto the ground and leave. "The Boss will instantly realize that being Grass-Types make those Pokémon natural born gardeners, allowing them to be busy at work tending his flowers while he's busy at work tending Team Rocket." The fantasy Giovanni watches as the Grass Pokémon transform his lot of dirt into a lush and verdant garden. "Upon seeing a garden that is sure to make the cover of his favorite headquarters design magazine, The Boss will only have one thing on his mind. He'll declare, 'As Meowth and friends have bestowed upon me these wonderful gardeners, it only makes sense that I give them as much green as they have given to me.'" The fantasy ends.
Jessie cheers, "As long as that green he plans on giving us isn't in the form of broccoli or spinach, I'm in!"
James adds, "Or Brussel sprouts, I hate Brussel sprouts."
Meowth assures, "Nope, the only green we'll be seeing is the kind that any child would love."
This makes James declare, "So what are we waiting for then? Let's go!"
All this time, Falcoknight and Traineed have continued their training. Falcoknight's rock has been significantly chipped away from repeated demonstrations while Traineed's shows no signs of damage. Traineed appears to be growing tired and is panting. Falcoknight asks it, "Falco?" inquiring as to whether or not they should stop.
Without hesitation and with the utmost determination, Traineed shakes its head and denies, "Traineed train!"
Falcoknight nods and gives another demonstration kick, further shattering its rock.
Traineed turns back to its rock and takes a deep breath while closing its eyes for concentration. After a moment of gathering its thoughts, it opens its eyes back up and goes through the exact motions of Falcoknight's kick in slow motion. Its foot impacts the rock with great power and causes pieces of the rock to shatter and fly off. Traineed freezes up in surprise upon seeing what it has done.
Falcoknight exclaims, "Fallllllcoknight!" with celebration.
Ash cheers, "You did it Traineed! You mastered the kick!"
A grin comes to Traineed's face as it fully realizes what it has accomplished. It says, "Train…eed…" with a combination of happiness and relief.
Brock comments, "Of course, mastering one kick isn't enough to achieve Traineed's full potential by any means."
These words resonate with Traineed. Immediately its look of celebration turns back into one of sheer determination. It turns back to its rock and begins to further practice with its new kick.
Brenda marvels, "That Traineed has to be one of the most dedicated and determined Pokémon I have ever seen."
Brock agrees, "It's in normal Traineed nature to dedicate oneself to getting stronger, but I think that this Traineed takes that to a whole new level. It really is amazing."
Ash comments, "That Traineed is my kind of Pokémon, that's for sure."
Before anyone can say anything else, a voice shouts out in need, "Traineeeeed!"
Ash exclaims, "That's another Traineed! Those bully Pokémon must be harassing them again!"
Traineed hears this and looks to Ash. It looks to the rock and observes the damage it has caused one last time. It then clenches its fist in determination and nods. "Traineed." It runs off towards the other Traineed's cry.
Ash beckons, "Come on, let's follow it!" He runs off, followed by Brock, Brenda, and Falcoknight.
They keep on running until they find a familiar sight. The same gang of Grass-Types have encircled a tree where Traineed live and have knocked them out and begun to antagonize them.
Traineed steps up to them and declares boldly, "Train traineed!"
The Breloom turns around to see its challenger and laughs. It asks, "Loom breloom bre!?" as if to ask if this is some kind of joke.
It's gang all seem to think it is, as they all break out laughing.
Traineed asserts, "Train traineed train!" This is no joke.
In a repeat from before, Breloom steps up to Traineed with an attempt to intimidate it using its size and challenges it, "Loom breloom."
And just as before, Traineed accepts the challenge. It launches a Low Sweep attack just as it did before, but this time it has training on its side and its powerful kick manages to trip Breloom to the floor.
The Grass-Type Pokémon, who had been laughing up until now, suddenly go silent. They begin to move towards their leader to help it, but Breloom puts up a hand to order them to stop. It gets up and stares angrily at Traineed, and Traineed stares resolutely back at it. Breloom then launches a Dynamic Punch attack just as it did before.
Traineed is ready this time. Using its small size its advantage, it leaps upwards, landing on Breloom's extended arm. It then launches a pointblank Razor Leaf at Breloom before leaping backwards to safety.
Breloom staggers back from the Razor Leaf hit it took. Its gang all run up to support it. The Traineed that were being bullied all cheer for Traineed.
Then, completely out of the blue, something falls from the sky. It's a giant robotic Hitmonchan. Emblazoned on its chest is a large red R. The robot makes a punching motion and launches one of its fists. A doorway opens up on the front of the fist and it engulfs the Grass-Type gang. The fist then returns to its position on the robot.
Ash shouts, "Hey, what's going on!?"
The head of the robot folds back, revealing a cockpit beneath it. In the cockpit is Team Rocket. Jessie declares, "Prepare for trouble, we're here for the plants!"
James adds, "Make it double, it's time for another of our chants!"
"To protect gardens from devastation!"
"To unite the world against deforestation!"
"To destroy the evils of pests and weeds!"
"To extend our reach by planting seeds!"
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket fertilizes at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now while we make our garden a sight!"
"Meowth, that's right!"
"Wobbuffet!"
"Mime mime!"
Ash demands, "What do you think you're doing, Team Rocket!?"
Jessie responds, "Seeing as the purpose of this place is to capture Pokémon, we're capturing Pokémon."
Brenda shouts, "If you want to capture Pokémon, do it the right way and use Safari Balls! You can't do this!"
Meowth teases, "Make us, you twerp!"
Ash looks to Pikachu and begins to say, "Pikachu, use-"
Brock cuts him off, "No Ash! You can't do that here, remember?"
Ash clenches his fists angrily. "But we can't just let Team Rocket get away!"
James laughs. "Actually, that's exactly what you can do!" The head of the mech returns to its normal position covering the cockpit and they turn around to retreat. They can be heard laughing together.
However, the mech stops when something stands before them. It's Traineed. It defiantly shouts at Team Rocket, "Train traineed train!"
The hatch opens back up as Team Rocket takes a look at this tiny Pokémon standing in their way. They all look to each other silently and then break out laughing. Jessie asks in hysteria, "And what does this little thing plan on doing to stop us!?"
James answers, "I don't know, maybe it wants to make us laugh ourselves into defeat!"
Meowth laughs, "If that's its plan, it might just work!"
Brenda asks, "Is Traineed actually trying to stop Team Rocket? Why would it help those bullies?"
Ash answers, "Because Traineed knows what's right and wrong. It's knows that what Team Rocket is doing is wrong, regardless of how questionable the Pokémon they captured are. No one deserves what Team Rocket has planned for them, and Traineed stands up those who are being wronged, even if they wronged it in the past."
Brock says with admiration, "Wow, that Traineed is something."
Still laughing, Jessie says, "Meowth, let's just get this over with. Get it out of the way."
Meowth nods. "Will do." He slams his fist down on a button. "Go, Super Rocket Punch!" The mecha Hitmonchan launches it fist not containing the Pokémon with rocket propulsion. The fist slams into Traineed, knocking it back into a tree. The fist is recovered and Team Rocket continue on their way.
Ash shouts, "Traineed!"
Falcoknight adds with a worried, "Fallllcoknight!"
Traineed is heavily injured by this last attack. It looks up to see Team Rocket getting away. Using all of its will power and determination, it stands up. Grunting through its pain it takes labored steps towards Team Rocket.
James points back behind them. Ooh, look who's coming after us guys, I'm terrified."
Jessie laughs, "That seed is planting doubts in my mind. Maybe we should stop."
Meowth laughs, "Whatever shall we do?" They all laugh together.
Traineed ignores this. It continues to move towards Team Rocket. Then it suddenly begins to glow. As it glows, it grows larger and completely changes shape.
Ash exclaims with disbelief, "Traineed…is evolving!"
While going through the process of evolution it continues to take one step after the other towards Team Rocket. Meanwhile, Team Rocket is too busy laughing to see what's happening. The glowing ceases. Traineed is now a tree Pokémon. Its main body is the trunk, with a hollow towards its top forming a mouth and marks in the bark forming its eyes. Its feet are derived from its roots while its arms are branches that jet out of either side of the trunk with bushels of leaves on the end. The branches above its head are covered in verdant green leaves as well.
Still stunned, Ash pulls out his Pokédex. "Arborrior, the Forest Guardian Pokémon and a Grass and Fighting Combo-Type. When a Traineed fully develops into an Arborrior, all of the training it put in can now be put to its full use with its powerful new body. It will fight endlessly to protect the forest that it lives in. Evolves from Traineed by training with a Fighting-Type move."
Arborrior shouts with newfound strength, "Arborrrrrrior!"
Hearing this, Team Rocket slowly freeze from their laughing fit and realize what has happened. Jessie comments, "Um…guys…I don't think this is a laughing matter…"
James agrees, "Not anymore…"
Meowth shakes off the shock. "Then fight we will!" The head lowers back down into position and the mech takes a fighting stance.
Arborrior takes a stance as well. The two then leap at each other. The mech attempts to launch a powerful punch at Arborrior, but Arborrior dodge to the side and makes a fist, which becomes cloaked in fire. It unleashes a powerful punch with this fiery fist, knocking the mech off balance.
Brock exclaims, "Wow, Arborrior learned Fire Punch!"
Brenda asks, "But why would a Grass-Type Pokémon be using a Fire-Type move?"
Brock explains, "Not just a Fire-Type move, a Fire and Fighting Combo-Type move. Arborrior is known for its powerful punches, so it's only natural that it should be able to attack with such a move."
The Hitmonchan mech is wobbling and trying to keep its balance. Jessie shouts, "You get this thing back under control right now, Meowth!"
Meowth, who is frantically working at the controls, answers, "I'm giving it all she's got, Jessie!"
James points out the window, "Um…you might want to give it more."
Arborrior is running towards them. Once it gets in close, it attacks by kicking the mech's feet with a Low Sweep, causing it to tumble to the ground. It turns to the arm that is carrying the Grass-Type Pokémon and raises its own arm above its head. Around its fist, green energy manifests in the form of a stump. It slams this stump down on the fist containing the Pokémon, cracking it open and letting them go free.
Brenda asks, "What kind of move was that?"
Brock answers, "It was Wood Hammer, one of the most powerful melee-based Grass-Type attacks."
Ash cheers, "Great job, Arborrior!"
With the Pokémon free, Arborrior turns to the main mech itself. It raises its arm once more in preparation for another Wood Hammer attack. Jessie, James, and Meowth all give a collective gulp of nervousness. Arborrior slams its hammer down on the main body of the mech, causing it to explode.
Jessie, James, and Meowth are sent flying into the air. James sighs. "Well…so much for that green stuff…"
Jessie comments, "Well…I still do have some green stuff…" She pulls a handful of Brussel sprouts from her pocket.
James is horrified by the sight. He shouts in a long and drawn out fashion, "No!"
Then they all shout, "We're blasting off again!" as they disappear.
Arborrior watches them disappear proudly. Falcoknight flies over to it and perches on its shoulder. It congratulates, "Falco!"
Arborrior looks to it and grins. "Arborrior!"
Ash, Brock, and Brenda also run up to it. Ash exclaims, "That was just great, Arborrior! And think about it, you've achieved your goal! You've become more powerful!"
Arborrior nods. "Borrior."
Brenda asks, "What about them?" She points to the gang of Grass-Types, which are standing somewhat awkwardly nearby.
Having been noticed, Breloom slowly approaches Arborrior. After a moment of silence and gathering its courage, it bows its head in shame and apologizes, "Breloom…"
Brock says, "I think that Breloom has seen the error of its ways now that it's been on the receiving end of being bullied."
Breloom looks up to Arborrior cautiously. Arborrior smiles. "Borrior!"
Breloom looks all the up and happily exclaims, "Breloom bre!"
Both the group of Grass-Types and the group of Traineed run up to Arborrior and Breloom and happily cheer.
Ash watches this scene and smiles. "I'm so glad we could help out." He looks to others. "I guess we better get going now. We've helped out all that we can." Brock and Brenda nod in agreement. Ash calls out, "Come on Falcoknight, we've got to go!"
Falcoknight, still perched on Arborrior's branch, looks over to Ash. It then looks back to Arborrior and says, "Falcoknight." It then flies off.
Arborrior waves and says, "Arborrior!"
Falcoknight lands next to Ash. Ash says to it, "It's because of you that Arborrior was able to evolve. You know that, right?"
Falcoknight nods proudly. "Falco."
They're turning to leave, when behind them they hear the call, "Arborrior!" Ash turns to see Arborrior running towards them.
He asks, "What is it Arborrior?"
Brock suggests, "I don't think Arborrior is ready to separate from us just yet. It still wants to get stronger, and you can help."
Ash smiles. "Is that it, Arborrior? Do you want to continue to train with Falcoknight and me?"
Arborrior nods. "Arbor."
Ash exclaims, "That's great! I promise you that we'll continue to train and you'll get stronger than you could ever imagine!" He pulls out a Safari Ball from his bag. "You ready?"
Arborrior nods. "Borrior."
Ash throws the ball. "Go, Safari Ball!" Arborrior is absorbed into the ball. It wiggles several times and then clicks. Ash picks up the ball and holds it triumphantly, declaring, "I just caught an Arborrior!"
Pikachu adds, "Pik pikachu!"
Falcoknight also comes in with, "Fallllllcoknight!"
Ash grins. "Welcome to the team, Arborrior."
Before anyone can say anything else, a chime is heard and a voice over a loudspeaker declares, "Ash, Brock, and Brenda, your time is up! Please return to the main entrance. You may not capture any other Pokémon at this point."
Ash's mood suddenly changes to despair. "No! I only caught one Pokémon!"
Brock laughs. "We got so caught up in helping Arborrior that we forgot about the Safari Game."
Brenda shrugs. "Oh, well. What are you going to do?"
Ash continues to mope in despair.
Our heroes may not have accomplished what they set off to do, but what they did do was so much more important. And hey, at least Ash caught one new Pokémon, right?
