I make my way towards the arena. The fight had already begun. I can hear the booms from ice and wind. Looking through the exit of the hallway I can see Izuku and Todoroki. Izuku's arms were extremely damaged and one had ice on it but Todoroki looks like he barely took any damage. Though he was getting frostbites from what I can tell.

"It's Yours! Your Quirk! Not His!" Izuku shouts.

Todoroki then ignites with flames and I can hear Todoroki's dad Endeavor shout, "Shoto! So You Finally Accepted it! It's now the dawn of a new era for us. With my blood in your veins, you'll surpass me. You'll finally live up to the reason I created you!"

We were at that part of the story. Looking from an outsider's perspective it was not as emotional. Compared to the previous moments from the original story this moment doesn't feel as real to me. Seconds later Izuku charged at Todoroki and Todoroki did the same. Cementoss created walls in between them that did little to nothing from stopping them from clashing and causing a huge blast. I held my ground but was blown back a bit. After the smoke cleared Izuku was out of the ring and Todoroki was still in the ring. Midnight then announces, "Midoriya is out of the ring. Todoroki wins!"

I want to go check up on Izuku but I stop myself. I don't know why but I don't have the courage to talk with him right now. Also partly because it would be too embarrassing to me if after Izuku lost and I showed up. It's going to take a bit of time for the arena to get fixed so this gives me some time to prepare myself mentally to face off against Akari.

Izuku is taken away with a stretcher and Todoroki walks up to me. His shirt was torn and he looked to be at peace but also at a loss. "During our fight. Even though he wanted to win. He still helped me. I don't know if it was you who told him to do this or he did it himself. But he did mention something about you so, thank you."

He starts to walk away and I say to him, "He would have done it regardless of whether or not I told him." He doesn't say anything and just continues walking, "You shouldn't be thanking me yet. I haven't even done anything to deserve anyone's gratitude." Todoroki, now gone, I let out a sigh and lightly slapped myself in the face to focus. A thank you from Todoroki for something I didn't do. I just hope Akari goes easy on me with her machines. I sit by the hallway entrance to the ring and wait for the arena to be fixed.

Minutes later the area was fixed. It was now Akari and me in the ring. Her eyes were obscured with her goggles on so I didn't know if she had it activated or not. She smiles and says, "I see you talked it out with Izuku or Youta."

"Yeah, I did, with Izuku. And now I'm better than ever," I say but at the back of my mind I feel doubt.

"That's good. I was worried that bottling whatever you were bottling was not a good idea. I would know first hand."

"Yeah, I'm sorry." I smile faintly.

"And Begin," Present Mic announced.

I got ready and absorbed air but Akari held out her hand, "Wait. Let's try a not so combative way to end this. I don't want to fight you. After seeing Izuku break himself I don't want to be the reason why you or Youta got hurt."

I stop absorbing air and look at Akari confused, "This is a tournament. How are we going to decide who's going to win without fighting?" I prepared myself to hurt Akari but it looks like she had no intention to fight at all.

"Why don't we flip a coin or play rock, paper, scissors?"

I also didn't want to hurt her so I said, "Ok. Let's flip a coin."

Akari pushed some buttons on her right gauntlet and a coin was ejected. She then throws over the coin to me, "You flip the coin."

I caught the coin and looked at it. It was a regular coin, "Alright. I choose heads." I flipped the coin and used the air I absorbed to shoot it up into the sky.

"Then I'll take tails."

"What are they doing? Shimizu gave Midoriya a coin and she tossed it into the sky. Are they deciding this battle with a coin flip?" I hear Present Mic.

"Knowing their relationship. That's the likely scenario," I hear Aizawa sensei.

Present Mic goes on to describe our relationship as friends until the coin lands on the ground. I see the coin landed on heads so I say, "It looks like I win this time."

Akari smiled and gave me a thumbs up, "Good luck on your next round." She walks out of the ring.

"Shimizu is out of the ring. Midoriya moves on to the next round," Midnight announces.

"What a lackluster ending after the end of the last match but what can we do? What I can say is that the next match should have more action than this one," Present Mic says.

I left the arena with Akari and we talked some more. "This is the first time you guys have investigated me so thoroughly," I say.

"Yeah, but under these circumstances, we couldn't all come talk with you."

"Well, that's a good thing for me. If you want to know the full story, you can go talk with Izuku. I don't have the heart to say it to anyone else. I gave him permission to tell it."

"No. I'll wait until you're ready to tell me yourself. Whatever it is at least I know it's not eating at you anymore. But there is something else." We were walking through the hallway and Akari suddenly hugged me with tears down her face, "You three had me scared to death. Why do you three have to have quirks so destructive to your own body? I wanted to win so that at least you don't have to push yourself over something like this but I know even with my items I could never beat any of you guys in a serious fight. In fact, my first match it was just dumb luck that I got paired with Shiozaki. With anyone else I would have lost."

I was a little surprised but I hugged her back, "But it's our job as future heroes to go beyond our limits. I'm sorry we keep hurting ourselves but that's the only way we could ever hope to master our quirks so that we don't hurt ourselves any more. Also with Shiozaki, it may be dumb luck you got pared with her but it wasn't dumb luck that you won the fight. You could beat anyone in this tournament. You give yourself too little credit." Akari was now just sobbing, not saying a word, "Hey… Why don't we change the scenery? Maeko's match is coming up and Youta is next after that."

Akari wipes away her tears, "I can't do anything to change you guys but I can at least try to help you guys to stop hurting yourself so much. I found out later that Izuku had a quirk so I don't have anything good prepared for him. But they're not done yet anyways so I will give it to you guys when they're done."

"I'll be looking forward to it."

(Third Person)
The crowd's energy is back up after the simplicity of the last round. "The last two fights were something none of us expected! So maybe this match is something to look out for also! Second round third match! We have Tenya Ida Versus Maeko Nagai! Ready! And Begin!" Present Mic announces. Ida and Maeko were now in the arena.

Ida again starts by activating his quirk engine and rushes Maeko with a right kick. Maeko's reaction speed was just fast enough to dodge the first kick but Ida's second kick came just as fast and landed a hit on Maeko's left abdomen. Holding in the pain, Maeko grabbed Ida's leg before he could move it away.

While spectating the fights she had already looked into everyone's quirk and how it was used. So she reversed Ida's engine to the state when it was stalled by his recipro burst. Unlike with Kaminari, where his quirk was emitting electricity. Ida's quirk was in a more physical state where the body's memory can be changed without having to change her own as long as there was physical contact. Putting them at an even playing field for a few seconds now that Ida can't use his engines.

"Huh!? But I didn't use Recipro Burst," said Ida in confusion.

Not wasting any time Maeko trips Ida in his confusion. Ida falls and Maeko, still holding on to his leg, tries to swing him out of the ring. But even though Ida can't use his quirk, his kicks were still as strong as ever as he kicked Maeko in the arm with his free leg making her drop the leg she was holding onto. Ida then quickly got back up and away from Maeko.

"You couldn't make this any easier on me now can you," said Maeko. She knows that her trump card has been revealed. If Ida were to use his recipro burst now it would be game over for her so she ignored the pain again and went on the offense.

Ida's engine was quickly coming back to normal now that Maeko wasn't touching it. Knowing he can't let Maeko use her quirk on him again so he resorts to his recipro burst. Ida dodges a punch from Maeko then activates his recipro burst. The sudden burst in speed was too fast for Maeko to react; she hasn't experienced something like this before. Remembering that it was only after Maeko touched him that his engine stalled, Ida opted to grab the back collar of Maeko's gym uniform to drag and toss her out of the ring.

Maeko knows she has no other options so she reverts the memory of the battle itself to the beginning. This only hinders herself while Ida gets no repercussions of the events but at least she had another chance. Maeko was breathing heavily, her face was now showing an expression of pain.

"In a sudden burst of speed Ida was about to throw Nagai out of the ring! But now they are suddenly back to their original starting position," Present Mic announces.

Ida was none the wiser to what had happened. To him the fight had just started, "Are you ok? You seem to be injured before the fight has even started."

Maeko grit through the pain like she always does "Spare me the hero talk." If only fewer eyes were watching I would have been able to beat Ida easily with my quirk without too much negative drawback to myself, she thought.

Ida was a bit conflicted to attack Maeko when she looked to be in pain before the fight had started. Ida shakes himself out of it and rushes in doing the same kick from the beginning of the fight with it missing again. Maeko had anticipated the second kick but the pain from the kicks before started to resurface which made Maeko wince in pain and was unable to dodge or block Ida's second kick.

But luckily for Maeko, Ida hesitates to kick her for a second after noticing Maeko in pain when he had done nothing. Why he hesitated, he doesn't know. But it was his subconscious changed memory telling him he didn't need to harm Maeko anymore. This hesitation leaves just enough time for Maeko to move out of the way of the second kick.

Seeing a chance, Maeko reaches out a hand and tries to stall Ida's engine. Ida has a bad feeling that he can't let Maeko touch him so he uses his recipro burst. Maeko was now in an even worse position than before. Ida again grabs Maeko by the back collar and drags her towards the edge of the ring. But before he could throw Maeko out of the ring he noticed Maeko was unconscious. He stops short nearing the edge of the ring and gently lets go of Maeko.

The mental overload from trying to use her quirk with so many people watching paired with the injuries from the kicks she had received had knocked her unconscious. Midnight sees that Maeko is unconscious and announces, "Nagai is unable to continue. Ida is the winner!"

"Did any of you folks out there get a sense of deja vu? It looked like right at the end there, we saw an instant replay in real time of how Ida was going to win," President Mic commentated.

"That was Maeko's quirk. It's not a replay but a reset in our memory. Any event or memory she is in, she can alter or change it to how she likes. That's why this match gave us a sense of things repeating itself," Eraser Head added. "She lost the first time and overloaded herself trying to do another reset."

(First Person)
"We missed it," Akari had suddenly said.

I didn't want to see Izuku for the time being so we decided to take the route towards the seating area for the support course. "Missed what," I asked.

"Maeko's match. We missed it."

"Really? Just how long have we been down here? And how do you know that?"

"We must have lost track of time again." We looked at each other then laughed. "I know you were friends with Maeko so, sorry for making you miss it. I can tell it's over by seeing people's fluctuations in their emotions through the walls. Let's hurry, Youta's match might begin."

I agreed and we hastily made our way to the seating area. When we arrived Maeko was on a stretcher just exiting the arena. "So, Ida won…"

"Why do you sound disappointed, Akumi? Don't tell me you're playing favorites now. You know that isn't a good mindset," Akari reprimanded me.

"No! I didn't mean to sound like that," I exclaimed. "I don't know why I said it like that either. I guess Maeko and losing just don't match in my dictionary."

"The second round matches have all been unexpected. With big explosions, a friendly game of coin flip, and real life replay of the battle. Just what will the next match bring," Present Mic announced. "We have Youta Okazaki versus Mina Ashido!" I see them approaching the ring.

"I hope he doesn't over exert himself. Especially if he wins and has to face off against Bakugo or Todorok," I hear Akari say.

"It all depends on if Ashido can get past Youta's defense," I say.

(Third Person)
Youta and Ashido had arrived in the ring. They were sizing each other up. "With that being said. Let the second round fourth match! Begin," Present Mic announces.

Ashido immediately went on the offense throwing acid at Youta. "I notice from your fight with Yaoyorozu, that you need some time to activate your quirk. But I'm not going to give you that time," she says confidently.

Youta dodges the acid, "You're right that I do need time but just how much time do you think I need?" Youta then approaches Ashido. Ashido, confident in her own close combat ability, also confronts Youta. Surprised at this move, Youta said, "I would have thought you kept at a distance while hurling acid at me to wear me down but I take it you're better up close," as they locked hands with each other in a contest of strength.

"What can I say? Acid burns better up close," Asido smiles as she secretes acid from her hands burning Youta's hand. Youta knows this isn't a good position so he stops resisting the push from Ashido falling with his back on the ground then using the momentum to kick Ashido over him releasing them from their hand lock.

Ashido bounced back up quickly and saw that Youta was still on the ground. Ringing out was the one way to know for sure that she had won because if Youta wasn't unconscious but buying time then she didn't know how well her acid could do against his red light. She cautiously but quickly approached Youta. She was going to drag him out of the ring.

Before Ashido could grab Youta her arm was grabbed by Youta and she was dragged down and put into an arm lock. "Admit defeat and I won't have to break this arm," Youta said.

She winces in pain, "Argh. You wouldn't." Ashido secretes acid from her arm.

Youta doesn't flinch even with the acid coming out. More like he doesn't feel anything at all. Ashido, taking a closer look at Youta sees that her acid wasn't touching Youta nor was Youta holding her but she could feel Youta holding her arm. "Wondering why your acid had no effect right? Well, take a closer look." The space between Youta and her arm shines red. "Now admit defeat," Youta's grip tightens.

Overcame with panic she was about to admit defeat but remembering the battle with Izuku breaking his bones. "Never!" She shouts, "One arm is nothing!"

"Good to hear." Youta lets go of Ashido's arm and sits up on the ground next to Ashido. Ashido was just confused and was taking a moment to process what just happened. "You called my bluff." Youta laughed, "But you gave me too much time. You should have kept throwing acid at me and kept your distance." Ashido tried moving but couldn't get up like something was holding her down. "These lights are a lot weaker since we can't see them but since you can't throw a punch you can't break this. I had encased the invisible red light around me since I knew you weren't going to give me any time to get my stronger light. The next step was to get close enough to you because I can't see them well either. But thanks to your acid I knew exactly what I controlled." Youta signals at Midnight, "Midnight! I have immobilized Ashido. Please call the match."

"Ashido, are you able to continue," Midnight asked Ashido.

"Yeah, I am! I just need to get out of this," Ashido answers, still trying to struggle out.

"Alright. Then in the next 10 seconds if Ashido can't get up it will count as immobilized," Midnight announced. "Starting now. 10."

Ashido struggles but nothing is working. "Fighting until the end. I like that spirit but I can't lose here," Youta said.

"9."

"Just wait. When I get out of this," Ashido said, trying to push herself up.

"8… 7."

"Hate to tell you but you don't have any more options to win now," Youta said.

"6… 5."

Ashido struggles desperately but her quirk and her physical strength while pinned on the ground were not enough to break the weakened version of Youta's red light.

"4… 3."

"You did well. But my quirk is just too versatile for you as you are now."

"2." Ashido hears and struggles even more. "1." Ashido then accepted that she lost as she stopped struggling. "0. Ashido is still on the ground. Therefore Okazaki wins by immobilization."

Youta lifted his quirk. Ashido was disheartened as she got up. "That match wasn't too unexpected. But just why couldn't Ashido get up. If you guys couldn't tell it was Okazaki's invisible red light. It may not be as powerful as his regular red light but in this instance, it gave Okazaki the win," Present Mic commentated.

(First Person)
"That was a new move. Does that move hurt himself?" I asked Akari.

"Hmmm. From the surface, it doesn't look like it. This is the first time I've seen him use it. So..." Akari was staring intensely at Youta.

"Well, Katsuki's match is next. But we already know he's going to win."

"Yeah. I agree Kirishima might have durability with his hardening but Bakugo would probably just blow it all away. Knowing how he fights and all. Kirishima seems like the forward fistfight type guy. But I hope that guy beats down Bakugo."

"I should probably get ready for my fight with Todoroki. Since we already know how this fight will play out."

"I should prepare myself for my fight next. Todoroki isn't going to be an easy fight."

"Don't you dare do anything crazy like Izuku. This is just a fun little side thing that isn't supposed to be that serious."

"I can't promise you I won't do anything crazy. I can't even promise you I won't get hurt. Izuku and I are both going to give it our all. So I'm sorry in advance for what I'm going to do."

Akari looks down then hugs me, "Just don't sleep for too long. You got that."

"Yeah. I'll do that." I want to win my match against Todoroki but with my quirk, I'm not really sure how to win. I have one shot at this and if I fail it then I guess I can't beat Todoroki, Katsuki, or Youta in a one-on-one anymore. Even if I won I wouldn't even be able to win the free-for-all in the next match without the use of my quirk. "Alright... Akari. Can you let go of me now?"

"Just a little longer."

I sigh as I notice her in tears again, "Fine."
