Percy Jackson yelled out in terror as he watched the monster turn towards his mother who was trying to get it's attention to save him. She had told him to help Grover, to drag him past the lone tree on top of the hill. Perhaps he should have, perhaps in another reality he would and defeated the minotaur with a burst of energy from the fear of watching his mother disappear. He learn of his father and go on quests like finding the master bolt, save the camp from it's failing wards, rescue the goddess of the moon. He would walk the labyrinth and stand in battle with the king of the titans for his family. Only to disappear to help save both Greeks and Romans from the wrath of Gaia.

This was not that reality.

With a roar the young twelve year old boy charged the monster with fisted raised. The monster was not impressed and swung it's fist hard. With a crack it's meaty hand struck Percy's temple and the boy knew no more. But as the darkness filled his vision Percy wondered if perhaps he had made a difference after all.

-Far away and twelve years later-

"OI!" a young man with a scar across his face, Umino Iruka, yelled as he stared at a cliff face that had carvings of four faces. They were covered in paint and drawings as two figues hung on ropes with brushes and buckets. "Jakuson Pashi! Uzumaki Naruto! You boys are in big time trouble!"

"Ah shit it's Iruka." The boy called Pashi yelped as he looked down at their upset teacher. His clothes and raven hair were covered in blue paint as he tried to get ready to flee. If one were to describe Pashi they would say he was as wild as the sea that he was found on twelve years ago by a traveler. Only thing for identification on his blanket was a scrap of paper that was had a trident and a strange name. With his sea green eyes he looked at his friend. "You said that we had another hour!"

"Don't blame me?" His whiskered birth marked friend shouted as he started to climb up the rope. Laughing, Pashi followed with glee. Naruto was his best friend and he knew his friend felt the same way. Both of them were trouble and they didn't care.

They were the prankster kings of Konoha.

"Oh no you two."

"Crap/Shit!" The boys yelped as their teacher grabbed them by their collars. Iruka glared at the duo who gave him nervous grins.

"Hey Iruma..." Naruto said with a small laugh. "Don't you have a class to watch?"

Pashi groaned as the glare sent their way increased in power.

"It's your own fault brat." A voice echoed in Pashi's head. "Perhaps next time you should have just taken a day off of the pranks and just lay in the river or the lake again. Even the fountain would be nice."

Pashi shook his head as he found himself bound and held under his teacher's arm as the man started running after Naruto, the traitor had broken free and was on the run. Closing his eyes Pashi found himself in a room.

The room was shaped like a sea cave with glowing rocks shaped like massive tridents jutting randomly along with water everywhere. On several of the rocks a few trees grew at swayed with the light breeze that lapped at the water. Pashi himself was standing on one of the few dry spots of land as he took a seat to look in front of him. There in front of him was a massive turtle was was floating lazily in the current. It's lone eye cracked opened as it looked at the boy that appeared in front of it.

"Isobu-sama." Pashi bowed with respect to the massive three-tailed turtle. Isobu only groaned and shook his massive head causing water to splatter everywhere.

"Will you stop with with the sama? I thought we were friends brat."

Pashi shrugged. "You've been here for me for as long as I can remember Isobu-sama. As long as we're together I want to be sure to show my respect to you every chance I get."

"Stubborn brat." With a sigh Isobu shifted in the water showing the chains binding his arms and legs to something under the after. "But if you keep insisting on your promise to free me of these chains you should be in class!"

"But it's so boring!" Pashi hated being in the classroom with a passion. The boy was sure that the classrooms existed to make him miserable. He always was causing problems that weren't his fault.

In his first year he was blamed for an explosion in the boiler room that melted his sensei Mizuji's face off on his right side. In his second year there was an earthquake that shattered all of the chemicals in the lab causing a mass hallucination of workers when they were under the effects of the fumes. there there was his time he ad to work with the messenger birds who seemed to hate him causing a near diplomatic crisis when the birds covered the kage from Suna with bird poop when he came for talks with the Hokage.

Naruto thought he was the best and had befriended him when Iruka took him to his classroom after the last incident with his last teacher who quit after being covered in sewer water. After that day the third had suggested that Pashi had a bloodline limit over water and had tested him with a sheet of paper. To both of their surprise, Pashi was not only had a powerful Suiton, but also a strong Doton and a hint of Pashi being able to use the valued and rare Mokuton. Not that Pashi was able to use it anytime soon given his poor chakra control.

Isobu sighed and closed his eye. "If you paid attention and weren't so much trouble prone you could have been a chunin by now."

Pashi shook his head. Isobu was still upset about how come he wasn't doing his best. "Oh come on! It's not fault I can't read that stupid Kanji!"

"Your could if you focused. Your the best of your class in terms of the physical aspect, but you need to work on your mind if your going to be a shinobi worthy of being my jailer."

Isobu and Pashi looked at each other and started to laugh. The air filled with their amusement even as outside of Pashi's mind Iruka was yelling at him and Naruto's ditching of his class in the classroom with their fellow genin hopefuls looking on.

...

The third Hokage covered his eyes with his hat as he watched Iruma yell at the newest generation of troublemakers. A smile threatened to spread across his face as the old man saw Naruto try to flee but left Pashi behind making their teacher chase after the son of Minato and Kushina with Jakuson in tow. Those two boys never could stand being still and were a storm of energy that needed to be released. Taking a sip from his pipe, Hiruzen let out a smoke ring as he walked back to his desk. Awaiting him was more paperwork but the lord third ignored the piles of paper work for several of his ninja who were amused by the situation outside the window.

"Seems our resident Jiinchuriki are having fun." A man with silver hair and a mask on his face said as he shifted in place.

"Indeed Kakashi." Hiruzen said was a grunt as he sat down. "To think we would be so lucky to have the two form a friendship with one another."

"And yet the two of them will need discipline. Especially if they want to get past genin."

Kakashi sent an eye smile to the man who spoke up "Asuma you know they are just enjoying themselves."

Asuma just shrugged. He wasn't alone in his thoughts of the two boys.

"Hopefully they will pass the exam this year." Taking another drag the Hokage took out a file. "Still, it should stand we have two Jiinchuriki in the village who need training in using their tailed beasts. This impasse that exists must end in order to protect the village."

"Sir with all respect, of the two of them Pashi is a walking trouble magnet while Naruto is a walking trouble maker." A jonin stated as she glared at the damage done to the monument of Hokages. Several other jonin voiced their thoughts as Hiruzen covered his face with his hat.

'Dam you Minato for leaving me with this mess.' "Uzumaki and Jakuson personalities aside, both are young and loyal to the village and want to earn their headbands. As it stands now Naruto and Pashi are tied for dead last. Kakashi, are you up for dealing with the both of them along with Sasuke?" He asked making everyone fall silent.

The one eyes copycat ninja shrugged. It didn't matter to him because he doubted they would all pass his bell test. Yet the glare sent his way made him rethink is position. Even so, a thought nagged at his mind. "Usually the dead last is paired with the best students of the year and having so many high levlel targets together is not wise if it is leaked that we have the last Uchiha, the kyuubi and sanbi in one package deal."

The old man nodded. "Indeed. Therefore we will have to have both of the boys separated with each one getting either of the top students."

"Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura could work." Kakashi quickly said. From what he knew of the girl she was a contender of becoming the next Tsunade even if she was the second best female student. He waited for a moment to let his words sink in. "If encouraged the trio could round one another out with each filling in for what the others lack currently. Pashi and Sasuke aren't on best of terms with each of their personalities."

"And if you don't get Sakura?"

Kakashi shrugged. "Yakumo makes sense given that the girl has proven herself as the third kunichi is spite of her lack of skill in the physical department but her genjustsu skills more than make up for it. Hinata is the defacto best Kunoichi of the year but she was asked to be under the command by her after to be placed under Yuhi."

Said woman stepped up with a small smile towards her older jonin. "Hinata would work best with Shino and Kiba I think as a tracker team. Currently were are low in strong track and capture teams which is starting to effect Konoha's ability to accept missions with such specific needs."

Tapping his pipe to remove the ash the third nodded. She was right about the need for a new generation for tracking. However... "I assume you both know that the final team placements are under my command and this meeting is a formality?"

Both jonin nodded their heads. With that...

"Pashi's hint of being able to use Mokuton will mean he needs someone to help him use it. Therefore Yamato, step forward." A young man blinked and stepped forward in full ANBU attire. Hiruzen laced his fingers together and leveled a look at his ANBU. "Think you are up to leading a team?"

Reaching up the ANBU agent took off his mask. "I will if you think I am ready sir. But I have no idea who will be the final member as of yet. But Jakuson Pashi and Kurama Yakumo I believe will work well as team members as I have seen them together a few times working together on their homework."

"No need for a third." Taking out a file, Hiruzen tossed it to Yamato. "Danzo has asked one of his own to be placed as a member to make sure that the two of them are protected. But until the two young boys pass this. Never. Happened. Understood?"

Killing intent filled the room and all the jonin nodded their heads. With a sigh the old man waved his hand to tell them to leave. Picking up his pen he once more went over the reports for the village. The never ending battle with paperwork waited for no one.

Three days later

"Looks like your luck might be turning brat."

Pashi groaned as he covered his eyes with his arms on the desk. He could not understand how he was able to pass the exam by the seat of his pants with all the words floating around the page. Even the clones were the bare minimum with him having to use water to help himself focus. Non of this teachers could explain why his focus and abilities got a boost whenever he was wet. Pashi chalked up to his bloodline. Nibbling on some seaweed he made sure he had his blue rice cakes ready for lunch. He loved the color blue and liked to wear his blue-green jumpsuit to match with Naruto. His headband was wrapped around his upper left arm shining proudly of his passing.

"Oi Pashi!" Kiba yelled from his place. "So how are you feeling about being asked to clean the sewers for missions while the real ninja do the real work?"

Pashi grit his teeth as several people snickered.

"Ignore them boy. being a genin is the early stages of one's career."

"I know that. But I wish that I had better control rather than getting angry to move water and earth."

Isobu went quiet as he went back to resting making Pashi scowl for a moment. Chakra was hard for him to use without a presoak of water. Not for lack of trying and practice but for whatever reason Pashi's control shifted from poor to better than average depending on if he was dry or not.

"Morning Pashi." Pashi looked up to see Yakumo looking down at him. The heiress to her clan, she was seen as the future genjutsu mistress of their generation with her skill over illusions. Her violet baggy pants and red mesh armor underneath her kimono was different compared to many of the girls in the class as she focused on function over style. Only Hinanta to Pashi's knowledge wore armor every day but her days off. As his friend looked for her seat Pashi looked around at everyone in the room.

The aforementioned Hinata had started talking to Yukumo about the weather, the Hyuga clan heiress was a quiet but powerful kunoichi who had accepted Pashi as a friend after he had helped her with her confidence issues after Pashi had asked her for help with his chakra control. Then there was Kiba and his puppy who were busy annoying Choji. Shino had his hood up as usual as he looked to the window. Of course there was Sasuke-teme. The golden boy of Konoha.

Pashi hated him and the feeling was returned by the last Uchiha. He was ignoring Sasuke since after there last brawl had given the teme a black eye and after he had given Pashi a broken nose. At least the duck hair baka lost that fight if not for the chunin calling the match after a swift kick to the family jewels to the jerk.

With a sigh Pashis musing was interrupted as the sound of running filled the hallway. Looking to the door Pashi smiled as Naruto entered the room. "Naruto! You made it!"

"You know it!" Naruto rubbed his forehead were he had his symbol of the village resting.

"Dobe you passed?" Kiba yelled out making more heads turn.

"Hnnn."

Pashi snorted. Of course Sasuke did not care. Ass. "Of course he passed Kiba. He must have wanted to prank us all with a fake fail. One last prank as a sign he passed."

Naruto laughed and rubbed his hair. It wasn't like that but the old man had told him to not speak of the events that lead to him getting his headband. "You got it already? Oh man here I thought I could have made you all guess."

"So, you ready for being a genin now?" Asked Pashi as his friend sat next to him.

Naruto nodded. "Hell yeah! Frist step to becoming Hokage. How about you Pachi?"

"Yes Pachi. What's your goal now that your a genin?"

Taking a moment to collect himself Pachi was unsure. "I... I don't know. I mean, I wanted the chance to learn more about where I came from before I was brought to Konoha. Who were my parents and would they be proud of me?"

Naruto slowly nodded. Never knowing his own parents Naruto understood a bit about Pachi's desire. Unlike him, Naruto was at least told his family had died in service to Konoha during the events of the day of his birth. The day the Kyuubi attacked.

"My brother was sealed at the time to some lady of Konoha." Isobu stated flatly sensing what his container was thinking. "I don't remember who, but she must of been a strong woman of the Uzumaki clan. The only one I know of was Mito. She was married to that asshole first Hokage Senju Hashirama."

"Think she was still alive twelve years ago?" Pachi asked as Naruto started waving at his crush Sakura.

The sanbi growled as he shifted in the water. "Unlikely. She would have to be in her hundreds and given my brother was sealed in her well after her coils had settled most of her natural healing would have been towards maintaining said coils as they held back his chakra."

"So his mother is one of last of the Uzumaki then?"

"Yes."

"Pachi wake up!"

Pachi blinked his eyes. As they focused Pachi saw an angry Iruka starting at him. "AAAAAAH!"

Iruka was quick to prevent the boy from falling down backwards. "Easy there Pachi-san. I wanted to make sure you got your team placement while everyone gets lunch. You did sleep though the announcement.

"What?! Why didn't you tell me?"

"Not my fault you fell asleep thinking."

Iruka cleared his thoat as he looked at the list. "Your on team four with Yukumo and a privately trained student Aburame Shisui. Your sensei will come collect you with your new teammate in a hour. And Pachi..."

The mans hook his head before ruffling Pachi's head. "I am proud of you. You are going to be a fine genin of Konoha."

"Thank you Iruka sensei." Getting up Pachi gave his teacher a bow of respect. "For everything."

"Thank you Pachi. But please, the best way you can show me that your ready for this is to make sure you and your teammates make it to chunin. Hopefully before Naruto. My wallet can't take much more of his ramen needs."

Pachi laughed as he left the room leaving his teacher to deal with his paperwork. Watching him go Iruka shook his head with a small smile. Gathering his papers he turned to see the Hokage enter the room. "Lord third."

...

"Aren't you tired to eating blue food?"

"Of course not." Pachi took a bite of his food with a hum of pleasure. "Blue is the best color there is."

"Naruto would say orange."

Pachi rolled his eyes. There was no way that orange was the better color, even if it was the opposite color. Taking another bite he paid little attention to his surroundings, just enjoying the sound of the pond that was near the school. Pachi loved the sound of water, it was relaxing and calming.

"Hey Isobu, what sort of dreams do you have?"

The Sanbi thought about it for a moment. "Freedom. My family... Why?"

"Because..." Pachi hesitated. "For the last several nights I have been dreaming of a horse and an eagle fighting in the surf of a sea in a storm. Then a black dog got into the fight and the surf turned bloody as the three fought one another. Or I am about a woman screaming for me to run to a tree while a bull headed man attacks her."

"I see."

Neither spoke as the tailed beast thought about what he was told. But finding nothing he decided to let Pachi think and figure it out on his own. It was likely of nothing of importance as dreams go. It was likely nothing fate changing.

Only later on did Isobu regret not knowing that Pachi's dreams were more than.. dreams.

Jakuson Pachi is roughly the Japanese translation of Percy Jackson.

A little plot bunny was hopping around my head the last few years. I hope that it is interesting to read.
