Akari had left Akumi's hospital room and was going to meet up with her sister who had stayed behind at the entrance. Akari notices her sister talking with principal Nezu and pro hero Eraser head, Midnight and Present Mic.
Principal Nezu sees Akari approaching, "Akari. You have returned."
"Don't go moving on her now. Why is she under surveillance like she's done something wrong?" Shimizu spoke up.
"Sorry mam but like we said it's very confidential. Until more information gets brought up she will be under surveillance," said Midnight.
"How am I supposed to just accept this!? She hasn't done anything. And if she did, you aren't even telling me what she did wrong."
"Onee-chan, don't make it tougher than it already is."
"Quiet Akari. I'm trying to–"
"Onee-chan Please! Let's just go." Akari interrupts. "They're already having trouble with her, they don't need us troubling them."
"But don't you want to get to the bottom of this. Come on now Akari, you saw it as well as I did."
"Care to enlighten us to what you two saw," said Aizawa.
"That depends, are you going to tell us what's going on with Akumi," replied Shimizu.
"For a moment she lost her color," said Akari.
"Lost her color?"
"Akari don't!" Shimizu walks up to Akari placing her hands on her shoulder and looking directly into Akari's eyes, "Don't tell them anything until you know full well what's happening."
"You two should be making your way out now," said principal Nezu. "Your visit time is running out."
"Good. We were just leaving," Shimizu took Akari by the hand and left.
"Traffic is terrible…" Shimizu said, tapping her finger on the steering wheel.
"Sorry," said Akari in the back of the car.
"Huh? What are you sorry for?"
"It happened again…" Akari was building up tears. "I should have told them. They could've helped her."
Shimizu sighs as she begins to drive, "If you told them they wouldn't have been able to do anything. Besides, we still don't know what's happening with Akumi. We can use our information to get information back, don't forget that."
"I know but *sniff* I can't help but blame myself for allowing them to *sniff* hurt themselves like that. *sniff* All of them, Izuku, Youta, Akumi. *sniff* I see it but don't do anything."
"Don't beat yourself up over them. You have your own problems to deal with. Don't forget if you don't become a hero you will have to deal with that stupid quirk marriage."
Wiping away her tears Akari hardens up "Yeah I know. If it wasn't for Akumi I would've never found my way to stand up to them."
"And if it wasn't for Youta you wouldn't have learned what love was," teased Shimizu.
Akari blushed red then shouted, "wha-What are you saying! I-It's not Like that! I just admire his ability to bring light to those he meets!"
"Oh so is it Izuku then?"
"Izuku…? No way. He might have a sister complex."
"Then what about the boy Akumi kept fighting with. Katsuki was his name right?"
Akari bit upset hearing Bakugo's name yells, "Impossible! I don't know what Akumi sees in him but even with my quirk I don't like him at all!"
"So it is Youta," Shimizu smiled looking through the rearview mirror seeing Akari flustered again.
"It's not fair. You're cheating with your quirk again," Akari pouted.
Shimizu laughs, "It doesn't take an expert with my quirk to find out you might be in love, Akari."
Akari's phone starts to ring, "We'll talk about this in a moment." She takes out her phone and sees that the school is calling and answers, "Hello?"
"Ah. Akari, glad you picked up," said principal Nezu on the other end. "I called to talk about the thing you saw during the sports festival."
"Oh..."
"I'll cut to the chase. We'll tell you what's been going on with Akumi."
"Are we going to talk this over the phone or are we doing this in person?" Shimizu intercepts. "Because it'd be a whole lot easier if we did this in person."
"Oh, Ms. Shimizu is there also. I apologize, only Akari is allowed to know."
"Huh!? Did I hear that right…" Shimizu drives the car over to the side of the road. "Akari, give me the phone." Akari gave Shimizu her phone, "Now Look Here, You Rat Mouse Chimaera! It's Either You Tell Both Of Us Or You Keep It To Yourself!"
"You shouldn't be saying that now Sadako Shimizu. Have you forgotten our conditions with that family of yours? For the sake of the future of both girls, I think it's best to leave you out."
Shimizu grips Akari's phone tightly and then slams her head in frustration on the steering wheel activating the car's hock. "Damn It All!" Stretching the arm holding the phone back to Akari, "Take your phone back before I break it."
Akari took her phone back, "Meet me in my office the next time you're at UA. And I apologize for the inconvenience."
"Not a problem. I hope we can get this situation sorted out." The call then ended.
The next day in UA Akari made her way to the principal's office. Entering the room she sees principal Nezu sitting on his chair. "Akari there you are. Perfect timing. Come take a seat." Akari takes a seat in front of principal Nezu. "So you must be wondering a lot about what's going on with Akumi Midoriya right?"
"Yes, I am. But I want to hear it from her."
"Hmmm. That's going to be a bit difficult seeing how she's still recovering."
"That's fine. I'm here to tell you what I saw at the sports festival."
"You're going to tell me even though you get nothing in return?"
"That's right. If my sister was here she would most likely tell me not to do this but Akumi taught me to believe in what I think is right. And right now I want to hear it from Akumi herself. But if I want to do that I have to tell you what I've seen."
"You're different from your sister. But that difference makes you stronger than your sister. Did you know your sister once tried to be a hero?"
"Don't speak ill of my sister. Those things don't matter right now."
"Right, I apologize. Let's get down to business."
"The sports festival…"
As Akumi turned away from Akari, Akari activated her quirk seeing that Akumi's colors had changed to a menacing blood red. Akari then felt as if something was looking at her back when staring into these colors. She was scared frozen for a moment then turning off her quirk she saw that Akumi was already gone. Sitting down calming herself she dismissed this as nothing.
Watching the arm wrestling match with Kirishima and Tetsutetsu she noticed Kirishima getting the upper hand. And sure enough, Kirishima wins.
Now onto the long-awaited fight of Akumi and Todoroki. She noticed Akari had tear streaks down her face as she arrived at the arena. Then as Present Mic announced the start of the fight Akumi took off to the sky. Akari noticed there wasn't any air being absorbed to be able to fly like that. It was like the first time she was able to fly with Akumi.
Akari reactivating her quirk, as Todoroki summons an ice glacier at Akumi, she notices that there is an incredible amount of heat going through Akumi as she falls through the ice glacier. Akumi slams into Todoroki causing a dust cloud but Akari can see Todoroki colors flickering colors from grey to white. Then Akumi jumped out of the dust cloud and Akari saw the same menacing red blood color on Akumi but this time there was a string of color connected upward towards something.
Akari sees in the sky a whole mixture of colors. All describing negative feelings. Worst of all, most of it was going directly into Akumi's color. Then looking back to the fight she was horrified with what she saw. Akumi was bloodied, her skin chard, her face was smiling crazily, but the thing that scared her the most was that she had no color.
That was when she saw a man behind Akumi whispering something into her ear and another Akumi in front of Akumi. The Akumi in front looked scared and she didn't have the same colors as the Akumi but it was similar. Then before she knew it, steam covered the entire stadium but even with the steam she could see the other Akumi looking at her but the man was nowhere to be seen.
Then Akumi wrote out a message with the color of her emotions, "Sorry you had to see this." She disappeared shortly after. After the dust cleared Youta red light barrier was protecting Akumi whose color had returned to its original color.
"And that was all I saw," said Akari.
"When you saw Akumi at the time at the hospital. Did you notice anything different," asked principal Nezu.
"No. Besides her being injured everything seemed to be normal."
"That man behind Akumi. Did anything stand out about him?"
"Like Akumi he didn't have a color. He also didn't have a face beside a mouth. But my instincts says if that man looked my way I wouldn't be standing here right now."
"This other Akumi. Was the only difference their color?"
"For that short amount of time I had to observe her, that was it."
"It's safe to say that this wasn't the conscious choice of Akumi. That's a huge relief. If it was, some precautions were going to be made."
"So what are you going to do with Akumi?"
"Take this note," principal Nezu slides a folded note to Akari.
"What's this?" Akari takes the note.
"Let's call it a get out of jail free card. Feel free to read it, I get the feeling the next time you see her you're going to be needing this."
"I'll keep that in mind." Akari puts away the note.
"Is there anything else we should know before I let you go?"
"There is something I want to know."
"What is it?"
"You aren't upset at me for not telling you any of this before, right?"
A surprised look was on principal Nezu, "Of course not. Besides, if we get upset over a trivial thing like this then we wouldn't be a very good institution, right."
Akari bowed her head down, "That's right. I was worried about nothing."
"If you don't want to hear about Akumi from us and you've said all of what you've seen then everything is done. We might be calling on you later though."
"I understand. I'll be taking my leave now."
"I hope you know what you're doing," said an imposing woman looking down on Akari who was sitting on her knees. Akari stays silent. "Trying to become a hero. That's what I despise out of you and your sister. Just accept it. The contract may say you're allowed to avoid this marriage by becoming a hero but with your undeveloped quirks it's impossible. You're just prolonging the inevitable… Have nothing to say for yourself?"
"Nothing's impossible," Akari spoke up.
"What was that! I didn't hear you clearly. Could you repeat that?" The woman said, clearly mocking Akari.
With a defiant look in her eyes, Akari says, "My mother was able to avoid that outcome and so will I."
"You insolent little…" The woman slaps Akari across the face. "If your mother was smarter she wouldn't have become a hero. Maybe then she might still be alive to see what ungrateful little brats she gave birth to."
"You should already know full well what our quirk can do," Akari said as her eyes began to glow. "I can see you're jealous that my mom had the better quirk."
The woman was furious. Readying her hand for another slap the woman was stopped by a man. "Hanae! You do know, harming Akari more than what you've already had will not sit well with my son."
The man let go of the woman's hand. A sweatdrop fell down her face, "I-Isamu. When did you arrive?"
The man menacingly staring down the woman says, "Just seconds ago. I see that you are disciplining her but there is a starking difference between discipline and abuse." Walking to and kneeling in front of Akari the man gently rubs Akari's cheek, "Sorry for not arriving sooner."
Akari smiles, "It's fine. This is nothing."
"Your eyes are truly like your mother's." The man stands back up, "Itsuki is in the other room."
"I see. I'll be taking my leave now. I hope you enjoy your stay, grandpa Kaji." Akari stood up and left the room. In the other room after closing the door, Akari frowns and clenches her fist looking at the floor.
"That's not a good look for you," said a boy.
Akari looks up to see a well-dressed boy, "Sorry for not being good enough, Kajiwara."
"Come on. You can call me by my first name. It's not like I like this any more than you do Akari."
"If so then why don't you cancel off this marriage?"
"You know as well as I do that I don't have the power to do that because of the contract. Even if I wanted to my father wouldn't allow it. Besides, what's so wrong with me?"
"There's nothing wrong with you. The only thing wrong is this situation we're in." A notification rings in Akari's phone.
"You want to check that," asked Kajiwara. Akari takes out her phone seeing that Izuku had sent his location to her. Akari's quirk is subconsciously activated, seeing this as a distress signal. "What was it about?"
"Nothing." Akari puts her phone away, "So are we doing anything different today."
"No, this is the usual hangout to get to know each other. It gets kind of boring after the first few times."
"Well, then I need to make a call. So I will be ending our hangout session early."
"Oh… Ok… I was looking forward to staying with you but if duty calls." Akari walks away without saying goodbye. "Next time let's go on a date," shouted Kajiwara as Akari closed the door behind her.
Akari calls Izuku's phone, getting no answer. Then suddenly she gets a call from principal Nezu. Answering the call Akari hears, "Akari, did I catch you at a bad time?"
"You could not have called at a better time."
"Did you by chance get sent a location by Izuku Midoriya?"
"Yes, I did. What does it mean?"
"Tomorrow morning pay a visit to Akumi."
"Huh? I why?"
"Just do it. If you notice anything different please be sure to tell us."
Akari could hear that this was serious, "Alright." This reminded her of the note that the principal had given her. Going into her room and going through her bag and taking out the note. "What did he write in this note?" Unfolding the note she reads, "Let her do what she wants. The eyes are watching to see if he falls for our taunts. If all else fails prepare for a plight. For the one in control is the enemy of the Might."
The next morning Akari was hesitant about entering the room that Akumi was in. She was a bit scared of what she might see if she entered that room. Finally opening the door she sees Akumi walking around the room. They make eye contact and Akari bursts into tears as she jumps into Akumi's arms in a hug and they fall to the ground.
"Ah! Akari! Don't jump at me without a warning."
"You healed so fast. I-I can't believe it. With the injuries you had, I thought you might need a whole year to recover."
"Yeah, I surprised myself. It felt like it was just yesterday I was in agonizing pain."
Akari backing away from Akumi activates her quirk seeing Akumi's colors are still normal except there were two strings of colors connected to two of the corners of the room.
"See anything wrong with me," asked Akumi.
Whipping away her tears Akari answers, "Only that you are worried about someone."
"Ah. That… Right. You got a location from Izuku right?"
"Yeah, I did. What was that about?"
"Don't worry about it, it's all been taken care of. Izuku just had a close encounter with the Hero Killer."
"The Hero Killer!? Is Izuku ok?"
"Yeah don't worry. Come on get up. We shouldn't be sitting on the ground." They stood up and sat on the bed.
"Are you sure you're feeling ok," Akari asked.
"I feel fine. Why?"
"There seem to be two separate strings connected to you from those two corners." Akari points to the two corners.
"You can see it? So I'm not going crazy. I keep getting this weird feeling from these two corners." Akumi walks up to one of the corners of the room and places a hand on the wall.
Akari then saw from the corner that Akumi touched, something sinister was connected at the end of the string wherever it was. "Hey Akumi, I think you should keep away from that corner." For a moment Akari sees Akumi's color flicker from gold to black.
"Yeah it feels kinda creepy and gives me the chills," Akumi says as she walks back to Akari.
Turning off her quirk Akari stands up, "I forgot. I still have to go to school!"
"Right! I missed so much school! But first I need to make sure Izuku is ok. Do you want to come along? I'm sure the school can excuse you for this."
A sweatdrop fell down Akari's face, "N-no. I should really be h-heading back."
"Well, we should leave together then. We'll split after I drop you off at UA."
Akari quickly shuts down the offer saying, "No, I think you should stay and heal up some more."
Akumi wraps an arm around Akari's shoulder and they begin walking towards the door, "Come on. I've been cramped up in this room for too long. Let's just go together."
As they were about to leave the room they were stopped by Aizawa. "Just where do you think you're going," he asks.
"I want to make sure Izuku is ok with my own eyes," Akumi answered
"You're quite a hassle, you know that. I should have expelled you before things got out of hand… You can't leave here until you get the approval of the principal."
"The principal, right?" Akari rummages through her bag, "Principal Nezu handed me this to give to you," Akari pulled out and handed the note to Aizawa.
Aizawa takes the note and reads it. "A real pain," he sighs. "I don't know if you're lucky or unlucky. I will be supervising you until you return to UA. But we are only going to the hospital then straight back to UA. You still have work you need to make up for the time you missed from school."
Akumi hesitates, "That's… Fine by me."
"Look at the time I have to hurry. Wish Izuku a speedy recovery for me," Akari says as she leaves in a hurry.
"Yeah, I will! Hope you have a good day at school," Akumi replied.
Akari quickly makes her way to UA. Arriving at the UA building she heads straight to the principal office. Principal Nezu was there in the office, "I've been expecting you Akari. And judging by your expression you didn't bring good news."
