-Shipyard, somewhere near Mantle-
In the dead of night at the Mantle docks, a boy was lying on top of a storehouse looking up at the sky with both arms crossed behind his head and one leg crossed over the other.
He was watching a video on his scroll, specifically of a live feed of a concert that was broadcast by the news of Weiss Schnee.
The boy looked to be about seventeen with spiky, silverish blue hair, fair skin, and sharp brandy red eyes. His build seemed toned for a boy his age, and he was dressed in an… atypical outfit.
He was dressed in a gray hoodie (with the actual hood being white), a bulletproof vest over a black shirt, black pants and black steel toe boots. On top of his shirt was a set of white chest armor that had a black spade on it.
Around his waist was an ammo belt with two knife holsters, what looked to be a utility belt with grenades, a card box and other gadgets, while the side of the belt on his right hip was a black and white hand cannon with a white outlined black spade on both sides of the grip.
The rest of the cannon's appearance was unclear due to being in a holster.
The boy watched the feed until the concert ended, right as a box truck approached the building he was at—and a squad of White Fang grunts started getting out and beginning to unload said truck.
The group's leaders seemed to be a cat Faunus girl with long black hair, and her weapon looked to be a combination of a GLOCK, wakizashi, and a kama sickle tool. As well as a larger Faunus man with a grinning face mask and a drill weapon of some sort.
'Alright, let's see who knows what…' The boy thought before he got to his feet and popped his neck. Time to get to work.
He then dropped down right into the warehouse from an open window, and caused a crate to fall on a goon as he landed.
Drawing his weapon, the boy twirled and loaded it in one motion.
Said hand cannon was black and white, with a blue square near the trigger and cylinder, with a white spade on it.
"Alright, dirtbags, listen up." The boy said as he deployed a retractable black helmet that was reminiscent of Red Hood's helmet from the Arkham games, before pulling on his hood. "I have come here to get answers, chew bubblegum, and kick ass." He continued, facing the goons and ringleaders behind him. "And I'm all out of bubblegum." He added.
"Sucks to be you." The one weilding the drill grunted with a shrug. "Kill him." He ordered the others.
The goons started charging at the teen, and he raised his gun at them.
"So, you have chosen death." The boy said before he started slamming the hammer back on his gun, sending them flying back and nailing a few in the head.
He threw a knife at another grunt, nailing them in the shoulder and making them fall on their back. Then he shot a couple more in the head before vaulting over one that tried to rush him, doing a mock bow when the grunt crashed into some drums.
Then he took a round object from his belt and threw it at the ground in front of the goons who he jumped over—causing it to explode and set them on fire!
It was a Solar Light Grenade!
"Shit! He's a Guardian!" The larger Faunus growled as the boy opened the card box and brought out a hand of Dust throwing cards.
"Scatter and take cover!" The cat faunus exclaimed in alarm as she headed for cover.
"Too late." The boy said as he tossed the cards and caused them to explode by shooting them, which caused the goons to either be blocked by rock or ice, or entangled in vines or dragged down by gravity from Ice, Wood, Earth, and Gravity Dust.
The White Fang soldiers tried to get free, but their obstructions were too strong. This allowed their Guardian assailant to walk up to them, twirling his hand cannon as he walked before he stopped in front of one of them.
Said Faunus was a red haired bull Faunus whose horns barely poked from his head, he looked to be barely thirteen or fourteen, and he was shaking in sheer terror as he stared down the barrel of the Hunter's gun—it's cylinder and barrel glowing an ethereal blue.
"No, NO! PLEASE! DON'T!" The fresh adolescent begged in fear, tears running down his face from behind his mask.
The guardian then retracted his helmet, preferring to look his potential victim in the eyes.
"You. I got a question for you." He said. "Adam Taurus and his Lieutenant Jason Leatherback, where are they?" He questioned.
"I-I-I-I d-don't know! I-I just joined last month!" The kid whimpered, and judging by how terrified he was, the Guardian could tell he was being honest.
That, and the kid was way too green to have been in the White Fang for at least half a year. He doubted he killed anyone yet.
"If you really wanna change how things are, kid. There are better ways to do it than joining a bunch of terrorists." The boy stated.
"H-How would you know that we're terrorists? We're bringing change! I've seen it!" The kid protested.
"Cuz your boss, Adam?" The Hunter stated, looking over his gun. "He murdered my father, the Atlas Hunter Vanguard, in cold blood." He continued. "After, might I add, the man saved his ass." He added.
"W-What…?" The kid uttered, clearly taken aback.
"Yeah. So now, I'm gonna return the favor." The boy responded. "So unless you chuckleheads all wanna die, I suggest you speak up before I change my mind on letting you live!" He continued, walking to the center of the group. "Because my name is Ace Scarlet, son of Cayde Scarlet, and I will have my revenge for what the White Fang, what Taurus has taken from my family!" He added.
Then he spun around and pulled the trigger, nailing one of the more full grown members of the squad.
"… Well? I'm waiting!" He snarled.
"He-He's planning on hitting an Atlas Weapons transport in three weeks!" The cat Faunus girl blurted out of fear.
"Three weeks, huh?" Ace hummed. "Where's the transport passing through?" He prodded further.
"A spot in Vale, Forever Fall!" She yelped.
"… Thank you." The boy said as he took out his knife and cut her loose. "You just earned your freedom." He continued. "What's your name?" He asked.
"B-Blake Belladonna…" The cat faunus gulped.
"Okay, Blake." The Hunter nodded. "Take that kid and get out of here." He continued as he started walking away. "And next time you see Adam." He added, holding up his gun. "Tell him that I have a bullet that belongs to him that I'd like to return." He concluded before double jumping out the sky window.

-Patch Island-
On Patch Island, there was a teenage boy who was getting some exploring done. It was his first time on the island, so exploring was to be expected.
The boy had blue hair, a pair of goggles on his forehead, tanned skin and looked to be around eighteen. He was wearing a red sweater over a white shirt, gray pants and matching gray shoes. He also had a rifle strapped to his back.
Currently, he was walking through the woods to get the lay of the land.
However, as he did, he soon had to stop when several pixelated clouds appeared in front of him, and a myriad of robotic frames came marching out, straight towards him.
These mechanical abominations were the Vex.
"Seriously? I thought they wouldn't deal with an island like Patch." The boy sighed before grabbing his weapon. "Oh well. Better trash this squad." He said to himself as his weapon unfolded into a Guan-Dao.
Charging at the walking scrap heaps, he started swinging his weapon and striking the Goblins that started surrounding him—his swings sending them flying—but some of them got up and started shooting completely unphased.
'Great. I'm gonna have to go for their cores…' The boy thought as he jumped over the surrounding Vex Goblins and turned his weapon back into a rifle before he started shooting.
Hitting the cores was rather difficult since he was being shot at. He got a few, but it was barely enough to take the heat off of him.
"Shit, now what do I…" The boy cursed before he noticed a small pond that was next to where he was. "Bingo." He added as he held out his hand—and called the water out and started sending a wave at the robots—sweeping them off the cliffs in a single current.
The chrono-walking machines let out shrieks of shock as the water swept them away before they teleported out, but didn't continue fighting Neptune. To them, it would just get a repeat of what he just did, and they didn't want that.
"Yeah, you better run!" He laughed.
"Hey!" A voice yelled from behind him, causing the boy to turn around and see a girl sitting in the hole left by the drained pond—in a red one piece and pouting. "You totally drained my swimming spot, you asshat!" She snapped.
"Shut up! I was being attacked by Vex! What did you want me to do?!" The boy snapped back.
"Well at least give a girl some warning next time!" The girl sighed as she crawled out of the hole and walked over to him. "Anyway, I'm Ruby Rose. Who're you?" She asked.
"Neptune Vasilias. I'm new to Patch." The boy replied. "Actually, I'm here cuz I got on the wrong boat to Vale from Mistral and got lost trying to find another one." He chuckled nervously.
"… How bad is your sense of direction? As bad as Zoro's?" The girl questioned.
Mii Suite music proceeded to play behind the boy's eyes as he thought on this before responding.
"… Pretty much." Neptune admitted.
"You obviously need some help. Think you can fill my swimming spot back up before we leave?" Ruby asked.
"Sure." Neptune nodded as he started doing so. "Ironically I actually have thalassophobia." He stated as he filled the pond back up.
"Wow. You have the weirdest semblance, then." The girl quipped with a chuckle.
"Believe me, you are far from the only person to say that." Neptune sighed, deflating.

Three weeks later, in Forever Fall, a blonde boy with a monkey tail was sitting in a tree as he watched the train pass by.
Taking a bite out of an apple he plucked from the branch above him, he saw a cat Faunus girl who was with a Yakuza dressed Bull Faunus, cut the back cars off from the front—leaving the boy behind and disappeared into the distance—and he could see her putting on a bow to hide her ears when she was too far away for very many people to see.
Moments later, the back cars skid to a halt below the trees the boy was in—and the bull Faunus boy was clearly furious with what just happened.
The blonde also noticed that he wore an ornate White Fang mask.
'Hm… Do I stay away from him, or address whatever he tried to pull…?' He mused mentally.
He was kept from making this decision when someone landed on the car behind the redhead—someone who looked like he was clearly a Hunter class Guardian.
"Adam Taurus?" The figure questioned, his face obscured by his black helmet.
"What the hell do you want, human?!" The bull faunus snapped angrily.
"My name…" The Hunter replied as he retracted his helmet. "Is Ace Scarlet. You killed my father." He continued as he drew a hand cannon from its holster. "Prepare to die." He added.
"Cute." Adam scoffed before he was forced to deflect a bullet. After that, a fight broke out.
Up on the cliffs, the blonde faunus watched and wondered if he should get involved or not.
"This seems like it's getting pretty heated…" Sun noted, right as Ace suddenly threw another of his Dust cards down and shot it—causing a tree to sprout up and subdue Adam.
"Now that you can't deflect…" The Hunter sighed before he clapped his hands above his head, causing a gun—bathed in radiant golden fire—to appear. "I told you that I was gonna kill you, and I meant it." He told his target.
"I thought Guardians didn't remember their past lives?" Adam questioned.
"Only the resurrected ones, dumbass." Ace retorted. "I inherited my Ghost from my father when he died." He continued, aiming down the sights at the boy.
"And that's supposed to make me feel bad?" The bull faunus scoffed as he discreetly readied himself.
"I don't expect you to feel bad. I expect you to die." Ace told him as he pulled the trigger. "And die forgotten." He added as he fired more shots.
The boy in the trees watched this, but his eyes widened when he saw that Adam's arm got free enough to get to his sword—and that he was readying himself to take the attack.
"And that's my cue!" He said to himself before he leapt down, bringing out a bo-staff and whacking Adam with it. This surprise attack made him stagger and allow the blonde to join the Hunter's side.
Adam, meanwhile took the full brunt of the Paracausal attack, but due to him absorbing it with his sword in the knick of time—it was now glowing a menacing red.
"I'm going… to murder you." He snarled, before taking his blade, and performing a Moonslice of unparalleled proportions.
"Look out!" Ace yelled as he pushed Sun back and to the attack, killing him instantly, and prompting a ghost with a red and gold shell to come out.
Adam snarled as he sheathed his sword and pointed its shotgun form at the Ghost.
"Oh no ya don't! The blonde faunus exclaimed as he got in the way just in time to block a shot from Adam, deflecting his shot with his own bo staff.
"You're defending a human? Against one of your own kind?!" The bull Faunus questioned.
"Buddy, I'm from Vacuo, we don't give a shit about whether you're a human or a Faunus out there. If you can live there? You're welcome there. That's our motto." The blonde stated. "Name's Sun Wukong, and I gotta say, man. You're seriously giving us Faunus a bad name." He added with a smirk.
"I'm getting the Faunus the respect we deserve! If I have to cut off a few heads, then so be it!" Adam snarled angrily. "You and your complacent kind are the problem!" He roared, swinging his sword at Sun, who blocked it expertly with his staff and constantly got hits in.
As this was going on, Sundance managed to resurrect Ace, who looked around and saw Sun fighting Adam… and saw that the Bull Faunus still had a piece of one of his Dust cards lodged in his shoulder—a Gravity one.
Grinning, Ace reloaded his gun, activating Memento Mori, before aiming at the fragment.
"Hey, Adam." He called, calling the boy to push Sun back and face him.
"What?!" He snarled.
"You got something on your sleeve." The gunslinger replied as he fired a super charged shot at the card fragment—causing it to explode—and causing a small singularity that ripped Adam's left arm off!
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!" The bull faunus screamed in agony as he staggered back before tripping and falling on his back.
"That one's for my dad, you son of a bitch." The boy snarled as he got up.
However, before Ace could do anything, a Bullhead with the White Fang insignia on its sides showed up and started shooting at him and Sun, forcing them back long enough for a second one to extract Adam. Then both aircraft flew off faster than the Hunter could reload.
"Dang, he got away." Sun cursed as he watched the planes fly away.
"I'll get him next time. So this is good enough for now." The Hunter sighed, holstering his gun. "Thanks for the assist uh…" The boy said before drawing a blank. "Sorry, didn't catch your name." He stated.
"Sun Wukong." The simian faunus told him informatively.
"Wait, you're one of Shan's kids?" Ace blinked in surprise.
"Uh, yeah. You don't see the resemblance?" The blonde questioned.
"Kinda, but let's face it, man. He's a gorilla Faunus and you're a monkey Faunus. That's a pretty large jump from an ape to a monkey." The Gunslinger pointed out.
"Fair, fair." Sun conceded with a nod since the jump was–as stated– rather large.
"What're you doing out here?" He questioned.
"I was heading to Vale to meet up with a few drinking buddies of mine. Sage, Scarlet and Neptune." Sun replied. "Neptune and I are supposed to be going to Beacon together." He added.
"Ha! What a coincidence! So am I!" The Guardian laughed.
"Sweet! We can head to Vale together!" Sun whooped. "... How are we gonna get to Vale?" He asked awkwardly after a beat passed.
"Oh don't sweat it, I've got my dad's ship with me." Ace told him.
"Sweet! Hey, is it true that you can see the Traveler in Vale? I always wanted to see it up close." The monkey Faunus said as Ace called his dad's ship—the Queen of Hearts.
"Yep. One of the best parts of Vale, really." The Hunter nodded in reply.
"Awesome!" Sun smiled as they got into the ship. "Hey, you sound like you're from Mantle. What made you come here?" He asked as they flew away.
"Oh that?" The boy questioned as he thought on it. "There's a… girl I used to know when I was a kid. I heard she's heading to Beacon so… I thought I'd go there to look." He admitted.
"Chasing a crush or something, Ace?" Sun quipped with a teasing smirk as he reclined in the co-pilot seat.
"Shut up. It's nothing like that." Ace retorted, rolling his eyes.
(Elsewhere)
Somewhere in Vale's redlight district, a yellow motorcycle stopped in front of a nightclub that was in one of the kingdom to see the Traveler floating above.
Then the owner of it, who was a blonde bombshell, got off and strode confidently into the club.
The girl, Yang Xiao Long, playfully scans the club as she makes her way to the bar, pulling out her scroll along the way–before laying back onto said bar, in a flirtatious manner–her DD-cup rack bouncing in her yellow too-small tube top all the while.
"One strawberry sunrise on the rocks." She purred at the bartender with a playfully seductive wink of her lavender eyes.
The bartender blushed quite hard as he got the drink ready, his eyes occasionally darting towards the girl's gorgeous cleavage and exposed stomach, making it very hard to concentrate on his task.
Then she glanced at the bar owner before (seemingly randomly)taking a picture of herself.
"... Don't you ever get cold looking like that?" A male voice told her.
Blinking, the blonde looked next to her and saw the owner of the voice.
It was a boy around her age. He had jet black hair (almost like Qrow's), and he had pale skin. He also had blue eyes that almost reminded her of the sky over her head.
Attire wise, he was wearing a black leather jacket over a blue shirt, blue jeans and a pair of black combat boots with blue laces. Around his waist was an ammo belt with something that was holstered under his jacket just out of view and there was what looked like a sword on his back. The blonde couldn't tell what style it was since the blade was hidden from view.
One thing she did find noteworthy was that she could just make out the sign of chitinous armor hidden under his shirt—familiar chitin.
'Is that… Hive chitin?' She wondered, remembering the head of a Knight her dad had found years ago as a fossil.
But after saving that can of worms for later, her gaze started finishing the trace of the boy's body, and her mind soon came up with a verdict.
'Whoa! Hello beefcake with a side of cute baby potatoes and sexy gravy!' Yang thought in surprise as her eyes widened. "Uh, no. I'm usually fine." She replied after shaking her head.
"Funny, I expected you to be shivering when the cold days come around." The boy remarked.
"Honey, when winter comes, I'm the hottest thing around." The blonde chuckled as she rested her arm on the bar. "So, hot stuff? Ya got a name?" She asked while subtly recording the people behind her with her scroll.
"Sky Obsidian. I'm a bit of a drifter, but someone managed to convince me to go to Beacon." The wanderer replied, popping his neck a bit.
"Sky, huh? Well, your name certainly matches your eyes." The blonde smiled. "Name's Yang Xiao Long, by the way." She added.
"Wait, Raven's daughter?" The boy questioned.
"You know my mom?" The lavender eyed girl questioned in light surprise..
"We've crossed paths once or twice." He nodded.
"Well, that certainly helps things for me." Yang mused, putting her phone away.
"I have to admit, you do have a lot of her good attributes—and even improved on a few." The young man noted.
"Really?" Yang asked in interest.
"Yeah." Sky nodded. "Your figure's far more voluptuous than hers, for one." He noted. "Thicker thighs, more slender and toned legs, wider hips, a more love handled waist, a bigger and better shaped ass, and a way bigger rack." He continued, before he stroked a surprised yang's hair. "Your eyes and hair are improved, too. They're gorgeous." He added, sincerely.
"O-Oh… Uh… Th-Thanks." The blonde stuttered lightly in reply, blushing in slight embarrassment and flattery at someone she just met saying that she was better than her mom in several ways when it came to looks.
It felt… Oddly nice.
"You also seem clearly like a better woman over all." Sky stated. "Cuz I'll be honest, your mom's a real bitch." He continued, taking a sip from his drink as Yang's was still being made. "Honestly? You're definitely better off without her bad influence." He added.
"She can't be that bad, can she?" Yang asked skeptically.
"She's a bandit queen who sleeps around and leaves people for dead." Sky deadpanned in response.
"I retract my question." The blonde amended.
It was then that the person the owner was talking to walked away, which Sky gestured at, giving Yang a cue to go and talk to him.
But as she got to work, Sky watched her—and felt like his suspicions were confirmed.
Yang was far more beautiful than her mom ever was, or ever would be.
It also didn't hurt that he had a thing for blondes.
As he watched Yang talk to Junior, he saw things get slowly heated as gang members surrounded them. Then it looked like the blonde was about to fucking kiss Jinior. That pissed Sky off a lot… Or rather, it would've, had she not sucker punched Junior's ass into a bar at a different part of the club.
"… Fuck, I think I'm in love." The boy sighed as he took another drink.
Then Yang jumped into the air, her bracelets unfolding into shot-gauntlets as she crashed down, sending out a shockwave that sent the rest of the thugs flying.
This prompted two girls—who Sky actually knew personally—to step forward. "Uh oh." He groaned as he decided to step in. "Keep my seat warm—gotta stop a cat fight." He told the bartender as he walked away.
On the dance floor, the two twins stood in front of Yang looking ready to pummel her.
But before anyone could do anything, Sky's Hive Cleaver—Willbreaker—was suddenly held between them.
"Ladies, please. This is a nightclub, not a Crucible map. Can't we do this elsewhere?" The boy questioned with a nervous chuckle, which got the twins attention.
"Sky? We didn't know you were here." The red twin, Militia, blinked in surprise.
"Militia, Melanie, you two are looking as lovely as ever." Sky smiled sheepishly. "How's your mom?" He asked.
"Uh, Sky, do you know these two?" Yang asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah, they're my… ex-girlfriends." The knight explained, looking at her.
"... Plural?" The blonde blinked in surprise.
"He wanted to see which of us was right for him and we wanted to look after each other, so my sister and I shared him." Melanie explained since the topic was open.
"It lasted for about two ecstasy, sex and threesome filled years before we decided to break up." Militia elaborated with a wistful smile.
"Chemistry just wasn't sticking." Sky clarified while Yang just stared at him.
"... You, sir, have balls of diamond." She commented.
"And a cock as hard as a steel rod, and probably just as big." Melanie pointed out, causing Sky to blush and Yang to immediately snap her neck in her direction—nearly causing whiplash.
"What?!" She yelled with comically wide eyes. "You gotta be kidding!" She gasped, causing Sky to facepalm as he spun around and split a rocket that Junior shot at them down the middle.
Yang landed next to the Malachite twins as the rocket halves blew up.
"… Did any of that cause any permanent damage?" She whispered as she got up and got ready to fight Junior. "How long can he go for?" She asked, loading her gauntlets.
"With the two of us? About four days, straight." Melanie replied with a blush as she recalled how satisfied she'd been during those times.
"On our own, he typically wouldn't stop for a full week." Militia added.
That sent Yang's imagination into overdrive. The things she imagined based on what the twins told her… Let's just say they were rated R and leave it at that.
"…You girls gotta give me a few of those stories sometime." The blonde brawler said, right before she leapt right into the fray with Junior and Sky.
Speaking of Junior and Sky…
"You have a lot of nerve coming back here!" The information broker growled, swinging his bat at the teenage drifter.
"Not my fault the twins were creative in what they did when we were together." Sky retorted as he blocked the man's swings. "The only reason you didn't straight up ban me is because I know how to do good business with you." He added.
What Junior was angry about was the fact that back when Sky dated the twins, the three of them had snuck into the club after hours and had one giant romp in every place in the club they could think of. This included the dance floor and even Junior's office.
Melanie and Militia were very creative back then.
What Sky also said was indeed true. The reason Junior hadn't banned Sky from the club when he found out was because he was actually one of his best business partners. The sword wielding teen knew that even if the info broker owed him something, it was usually best to sweeten the pot and make things more worthwhile.
It was good business.
This did not, however, keep tempers from boiling over between the two. Case in point—the current events.
"That's rich coming from the kid who's trashing my club with some blonde bimbo he brought with him!" Junior growled as he swung his bat, which Sky allowed to hit him square in the head.
"Full Counter." The boy said, swiping his sword to the side, causing the blow to be transferred back to Junior with double the impact.
This was Sky's semblance, Full Counter. He can transfer any physical blows or Semblance/Dust attacks that he can react to back at the user with double the impact.
"ACK!" The man grunted as he staggered back from the impact, giving Yang a window to land a punch on him that sent him flying back.
While also causing a massive explosion from the nightclub that sent the guy flying.
"Oops." The blonde eeped, realizing that she went overboard.
"… Yeah, definitely an improvement from your mom." Sky nodded.
The twins didn't seem too peeved about this, as they just rolled Junior out of the way and sashayed over to Sky before kissing him on both of his cheeks.
"Little advice, Sky? Try not to break this girl too badly." Melanie told him.
"Yeah, be careful. I've gotten tested and my mom's pretty sure you fucked my IQ down five points." Militia nodded, hands on her hips. "She's doing fine, by the way." She added, answering his question from earlier.
"Is he that good?" Yang asked as she walked up to them with a blush on her face.
"Girl, you have no idea." The two replied, their voices synchronized in unison as they walked away from the pair, and out of the club.
(Later)
The two of them left the club not long after, and Yang decided to go ahead and jump at a chance that was basically given to her on a silver platter.
Laying on Sky's shoulder, the buxom blonde bombshell batted her eyelashes at the boy, getting his attention.
"Something on your mind?" He asked.
"Yeah, I was thinking about asking you out." The brawler replied, rolling over his shoulder so that she could wrap her arms around her neck while he caught her by holding her waist.
"Why the sudden invitation to go out on a date?" Sky questioned with a raised eyebrow.
Yang hummed a bit before responding.
"Let's see… OK. 1. You know about my mom. 2. You can kick some serious ass—and I love that in a guy—3. You still owe me a drink. 4. And you're hot—so that alone seems like a good enough reason to go out." The blonde listed off.
"... Alright, I'm game. It doesn't hurt that you're better than Raven in practically every sense of the word, either." The young man shrugged.
"Good, cuz I'm not gonna let this be a one and done deal. You're going to go on a few dates with me." Yang told him.
"… Seems fair, I did kinda screw up your investigation." Sky conceded.
"And I also reserve the right to take you off the market at any point." The lilac blonde added with a flirtatious smirk.
Sky raised an eyebrow in confusion at that.
"Don't give me that look, you know you want it. I saw how you were looking at me." She laughed. "Face it, Obsidian. You just hit the jackpot." The buxom brawler told him.
"Point very well made." Sky chuckled, deciding to give her a peck on the cheek, causing her to blush a bit.
"Oh no you don't." The girl smiled as she pulled him down and kissed him full on the lips, moaning as he took her into his arms and kissed her back.
"… Yang?" A voice asked from behind the two.
Separating, the two looked and saw a girl a few years younger than them clad in black and red clothed with hair of the same color and silver eyes. There was also an ammo belt around her waist with a folded item on the back of her hips.
"Oh, uh, hey sis." Yang chuckled awkwardly as she kept her arms around Sky's neck.
"What're you doing? Who's that?" The girl asked.
"Oh, this is Sky, my uh…" The blonde started to say before Sky saved her, hugging her tightly.
"Sky Obsidian. I'm your sister's boyfriend." He told her. "Currently on a trial basis right now." He added.
"Oh, cool!" The younger girl smiled. "I'm Ruby Rose, by the way." She added, looking at Sky.
"Nice to meet you, Ruby." The boy replied as the girl approached them.
"Trial basis?" Yang questioned in a quiet tone.
"Just until you're sure you want to commit, that's all. I'm certainly all for it." He assured her, giving her ass a gentle squeeze.
"O-Okay!" The blonde gasped quietly. She idly noted that his hands… Felt good.
One point in favor. It seemed.
(Timeskip)
It was a while after Ruby and Yang met their friends Sky and Neptune, with the boys actually knowing each other from when Sky had taken a brief stint at the Mistral combat school under Haven.
Tai, for his part, wasn't sure about his girls hanging out with boys—especially since Neptune was two years older than Ruby—but after a bit, those concerns melted away after he got to know them.
Though Sky did omit that he had two girlfriends before Yang.
Speaking of Sky, he did confess that he was actually part of Raven's bandit clan before he left. When Tai asked why he left, the answer he got pissed off him and Yang a great deal.
Apparently Raven had not only had another child with one of the guys in the tribe—she also tried to sleep with him whilst he was still dating a different tribe member!
"You gotta be kidding me..." The man groaned.
"Yeah, I had to break up with the one I was dating in the tribe and leave after that." Sky sighed, still feeling upset about that whole mess. "It was also a matter of principle. I was fine as long as we hit other tribes, but once we started hitting innocent villages? Yeah—I wasn't sticking around." He added, arms crossed.
"What the hell is going through her head?" Yang wondered with a groan.
"A pair of simple mantra: Strike, Sack, Steal, Sell, Celebrate. And Eat, drink, fuck and sleep." The swordsman replied. "She doesn't really think about anything else other than that." He added.
"I don't think I'd enjoy meeting her…" Ruby commented with a facepalm.
"You definitely wouldn't." Sky confirmed.
"So this other tribe member, who was she?" Yang questioned.
"Her name was Vernal." The boy replied. "We were a pretty good pair, but once things started turning sour, we couldn't really sustain a healthy relationship. So we thought it was best to break up on fairly okay terms." He added.
"Then let's hope that the third time doesn't have as much bad luck." Tai stated.
"Yeah, no kidding." The swordsman chuckled lightly. "But at any rate, I'll be heading to Beacon when it's time." He added.
"Hey! So am I!" Yang exclaimed.
Before Ruby or Tai could say anything, there was a knock on the door.
"Oh! That's Neptune!" Ruby said as he got up, putting on her cloak.
"Where're you going?" Tai questioned.
"Oh, Neptune's taking me to a Dust Shop to restock on ammo." The silver eyed girl replied.
"Got a problem with me joining? I need some Electric Dust for my ranged weapon." Sky asked.
"Oh, no problem! Come on!" Ruby smiled, beckoning him to follow.
"… My girls are growing up." Tai sighed.
"We're all going to, dad, don't feel so bad." Yang chuckled.

-Streets of Vale-
Up in the sky, just above the City of Vale and above the academy of Beacon that was in the distance, was a giant white orb that floated in the sky above it—but nowhere near space level.
The opalescent orb look to be as smooth as sanded marble save for a few scars and a bottom chunk that was missing.
This was the Traveler, an extraterrestrial Paracausal being that came to Remnant to give it a Golden Age millennia ago, but now laid dormant. It is the mother of the Ghosts and the source of the Guardians power.
Meanwhile, on the streets of Vale at night, a figure that Yang had seen at the bar–that being notorious criminal mastermind Roman Torchwick–strode down the street whilst flanked by several goons.
His stride was composed and confident as he made his way down the road, encountering absolutely no sort of opposition from any of the bystanders who saw him, whilst he lit his cigar while walking.
After a while, he and his posse reached the dust/convenience store, From Dust till Dawn, and went inside.
"Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a Dust store open this late at night?" The bowler hat wearing man commented.
"Please, just take my money, I won't do anything!" The shopkeeper groveled.
"Shhh shh shh, we're not here for the money, but something far more valuable than register change Lien." Roman told him before addressing his goons. "Grab the Dust. All of it." He ordered.
The thugs got to work, putting Dust in containers while one of them put a case on the desk.
"Crystals. Uncut." He demanded.
In the back of the store, Sky, Ruby and Neptune were seen looking at some magazines. Sky was looking at a list of whetstones, ruby was looking at new weapon mods and Neptune… Was looking at a fashion magazine.
The girl had a pair of headphones on while the boys were waiting for a time to stop the robbery.
That moment arrived when one of the goons tried to shake down Ruby.
This prompted Neptune to whip out his fusion rifle and point it at the guy's head.
"Don't you know that it's impolite to gang up on a lady?" He questioned, charging up his weapon.
"Yeah. That's just rude." Sky nodded as he nudged Ruby's shoulder, getting her attention.
"What's happening?" She asked before noticing the thug. "... Robbery in progress?" She deadpanned.
"Yep." The drifter deadpanned back in reply.
"Let's send these jackasses packing." The blue haired boy said as he blasted the guy trying to shake Ruby down in the chest and sending him flying.
"What the–?! Roman gasped before Sky Sparta kicked another thug through the window with Ruby kicking a third as well.
The three teens took out a few more before they ended up outside with a few outcold thugs at their feet. The each brought their weapons out, Neptune twirling his Guan-Dao–Trident– with a bit of flair, Ruby bringing out her scythe– Crescent Rose– with a stylish spin, and Sky stabbing Willbreaker into the ground as he brought out… A Remnant variation of a Hive Boomer in his left hand.
The sight of someone with a Hive Cleaver spooked Roman a bit, since anyone that had one of those usually meant business.
"Yeah… Nope. Not sticking around." Roman nodded as he ran away while Ruby was effortlessly taking down the other goons.
Neptune and Sky made the thugs look like child's play, too, since they had good training.
When they were done, they noticed that Roman was getting away and heading to the rooftops.
"Hey, storekeep! Can you handle yourself from here?" Sky called to the old man running the store, getting a nod in return. "Okay, let's go, guys!" He exclaimed as he took off after Roman, Ruby and Neptune following suit.
"Hey, is it just me." Neptune noted as he looked up. "Or does it look like that Bullhead's getting closer?" He questioned as said flying video was flying towards them and Torchwick.
"It's not just you." Sky confirmed.
"INCOMING!" Ruby yelled as they bailed out of the way as the ship nearly dive bombed them, before resuming their chase.
"What the hell is that pilot doing?!" Neptune wondered in disbelief at what just happened. Dive Bombing? In a populated area?
"Let's just get the idiot, put him in a cell and call it a day!" Sky barked.
As the trio finally managed to corner Torchwick on a roof, they all pointed their weapons at him.
"Freeze, dirt bag." Neptune told him, goggles on.
"What he said." Sky nodded.
Ruby simply aimed down her scope. "Who wants to bet that I can nail his left nut?" She questioned, as she cocked her rifle.
Roman yelped in fear as he covered his crotch protectively.
"Please. You could nail both with one shot." Neptune chuckled with a half hearted scoff.
"Remind me never to get on your bad side." Sky stated, right as the Bullhead from earlier turned around and started heading straight towards them again.
This time it hovered and a side door opened up, which Roman quickly crawled into.
"Sorry, kids, but I like keeping my manhood, so I gotta jet!" Roman called as he took a red Dust crystal and threw it at them.
But before it could explode as he tossed it at them, someone dropped in front of them and stopped the explosion with telekinesis.
Blinking, the three teens saw a buxom blonde woman in a white blouse with a cleavage window, a black skirt and black heels with matching black stockings with a purposefully tattered looking cape standing in front of them. They also noted she haid fair skin and had a riding crop for a weapon.
It was also clear that she was an insatiable vixen, as her figure was even more voluptuous than Yang's (the younger blonde had a DD-Cup that looked close to becoming an E-Cup, while this woman had a G-Cup).
"… If it weren't for the fact that I'm not a cougar hunter, I'd definitely date her." Neptune whispered.
"Same." Sky nodded, he knew beauty when he saw it—but he wasn't really into women outside his age group. Raven made that a fact.
Then the woman proceeded to make use of her semblance to pull off feats that seemed like they were almost akin to witchcraft, using debris from the blast to create lances and the like to attack the craft. Someone else aboard the ship must've been experienced with such things because they countered them at each turn.
Sky caught a glimpse of a boy that looked like a Hunter class Guardian using the Golden Gun to destroy the lances and Blade Barrage to deal with a barrier-esque circle.
'Well that's a pain in my ass…' The swordsman thought in irritation.
As the crooks got away, the woman turned to them.
"Wait a minute, I recognize her." Sky whispered.
"Really?" His two companions asked.
"Glynda Goodwitch. She used to be on the same team as an uncle of mine." He nodded.
"I must ask you three to come with me." Glynda told the trio.
"Alright. Where to?" Sky asked.
(Later)
The three teens were now sitting in an interrogation room, Neptune and Ruby looking down while Sky just looked miffed.
"This seems less like a 'good job for not causing too much damage while defending yourself' and more like a 'how dare you defend yourself' kind of talk." The swordsman huffed.
"And that's supposed to exempt you from the danger you put yourself in?" Glynda questioned.
"I've been in worse situations than that outside the Kingdom walls for years. Danger like what happened earlier is an average Tuesday for me." Sky rebuked nonchalantly.
"You're just as nonchalant about danger as your uncle and as aloof as your father, Sky." The blonde sighed.
"Thanks." The boy replied.
"That wasn't a compliment." She stated.
"And?" The drifter shot back with a raised eyebrow.
"As for you two." Glynda continued, looking at Ruby and Neptune.
But before she could say anything further, the door opened and someone walked in.
Said man had pale skin, gray hair and a pair of glasses over his green eyes. He had black and green clothes that were indicative of his status as a headmaster. In his hands were a can, a coffee mug and a plate of cookies.
"Cookies!" Ruby exclaimed, her eyes lighting up like Dawning Tree lights.
"Oh boy…" Neptune sighed.
"What?" Sky asked.
"Ruby, she's a cookie addict." Neptune replied.
"Oh…" Was all the young man could say as the plate of cookies was set down and Ruby started inhaling them like a vacuum, though not before the boys each took three.
The man only chuckled as he gave them all a mug of coffee.
"Ruby Rose." The man hummed. "You… Have silver eyes." He mused. "Interesting." He hummed.
"Why is it interesting?" Neptune whispered.
"Silver eyes are a seriously rare trait." Sky whispered. "Only people who I know have them are Ruby, her mom, the Grimm Reaper… and my uncle." He added.
"You gotta tell me about your uncle sometime." The blue haired young man told his friend.
"Hm… Sky Obsidian, nephew of the White Spear himself, Ivory Obsidian." The man noted, his gaze landing on Sky. "I heard about what happened to your parents. I'm sorry you had to experience that." He told the boy.
"I appreciate the words, professor Ozpin." The boy nodded.
"And Neptune Vasilias. Your family is quite the accomplished one." Ozpin noted.
"Ehehehe, yeah. It's pretty crowded." The boy nodded.
"Who taught you to fight like this?" The headmaster questioned.
"Signal Academy/Self Taught/Sanctum Academy." The trio replied.
"So one of you is learning how to use one of the most dangerous weapons in existence, one of you is self taught and the other learned at Sanctum." Ozpin summed up. "And you, miss Rose, wish to become a monster hunter from what I'm gathering. Am I correct?" He questioned.
"You are." Ruby confirmed with a nod.
"And what of you two?" He questioned.
"I'm hoping that I can distinguish myself from my family by becoming a famous Huntsman." Neptune replied.
"And I'm hoping to try and find my sister." Sky nodded.
"... Welcome to Beacon, then. All three of you." Ozpin told them.
That basically made their days, especially Ruby.
(Later)
After the three teens were released, Glynda pulled Sky aside for one personal question.
"Sky, you wouldn't happen to know what happened to Ivory, would you?" The blonde asked, sounding worried. "I haven't heard from him in years." She added.
"He's alive, but he's been missing. Has been for the past twelve years." Sky sighed in reply.
"Missing?" Glynda questioned. "Then how do you know that he's alive?" She asked.
"Qrow, he said that he ran into Shan Wukong a few times and he said that he and my uncle were working on something together. As well as coming across a series of Grimm bone yards that had clear evidence of his handiwork." The boy replied.
"Oh, good." The woman sighed in relief.
"I take it you guys were close?" The swordsman inquired.
"I… Had dated him, admittedly." The woman confessed. "I had even been looking forward to marrying him, but then he went missing. I thought he was dead." She continued sadly.
"That's right, I think I remember him showing dad a ring he'd bought." Sky nodded, stroking his chin. "Before everything went to shit." He added.
"Do you have any idea what he's up to that requires him to drop off the grid for so long?" Glynda questioned, hoping to find out more of her love interest's whereabouts.
"I think Qrow mentioned something about him transporting something called 'the Heirloom' to somewhere for safekeeping." The boy explained. "Though whatever this 'Heirloom' is, I have no answers to, I'm afraid." He added.
"That's alright." Glynda waved off, looking relieved that Ivory was still kicking. "At least I know he's alive." She added.
"I think I also heard that he was possibly on the trail of an Ahamkara." Sky mused. "But that can't be right, those wish dragons have been extinct since the Dark Age." He added in confusion.
"Was he perhaps referring to a fossil?" The blonde wondered.
"It's pretty ambiguous right now, since just saying he's on the trail of an Ahamkara could refer to either a fossil or a live one at this point." Sky mused. "Anything else?" He asked.
"Yes, but that can wait until after you get into Beacon." Glynda told him. "I just know you're going to, no matter what." She added flatly.
"You know me so well." Sky chuckled before giving her a hug, which she returned. "See you there, auntie." He smiled as they separated.
"D-Don't call me that!" Glynda yelped with a blush.
This was a little something that had become routine for Sky: Any chance he got, he'd call Glynda his aunt. He'd done this since he was a child since he truly saw her as an aunt that he never had. Glynda would always say not to, but it was in a very tsundere-like manner, so Sky persisted.
"Sky! Come on! Yang's waiting outside!" Ruby called to him.
"I'll be right there!" Sky called back. "See you at Beacon." He told his auntie figure, giving her one last hug before he left.
'How that boy wormed his way into my heart like he did is a mystery…' Glynda thought, watching her nephew figure leave with a small smile on her face.

-Skies of Vale-
A week had gone by, it was finally time to go to Beacon. Sky was glad he'd get to spend time with his auntie for the next four years and hopefully get things moving along with Yang along the way.
Speaking of Yang…
"Oh, I can't believe that my little sister's going to be going to Beacon with me! This is the best day ever!" The blonde smiled as she hugged her sister tightly.
"Please stop…!" Ruby wheezed, feeling like she was about to suffocate
"Let her breathe, Yang." Sky chuckled as he pulled the chibi reaper away from her sister, much to said reaper's relief.
"I can't help it! My sister got bumped up a few years for this!" Yang exclaimed. "When people find out about her, she's going to be the bee's knees!" She added excitedly.
"I don't want to be the bee's knees! I just wanna be a normal girl with normal knees!" Ruby complained.
"Kinda late for that, don'tcha think?" Neptune remarked.
"Yeah, you're special, Ruby. That's why you're here in the first place." Yang nodded.
"Ahem." Sky coughed.
"Correction, all of us are pretty spectacular." Yang amended.
Ruby only sighed as she walked over to the window of the airship and saw Patch from the sky.
"Huh, guess home isn't so far after all." She hummed.
"Beacon is our new home, Ruby." Her sister told her as Sky hugged her from behind.
Neptune, meanwhile, was watching as they approached the school, before his face became filled with wonder.
"Whoa…" He gasped as the ship started flying right next to the Traveler—and all four of them were able to see just how small they were in comparison to it—and the sheer incomprehension at its titanic battle scars.
"Damn, those scars look more severe up close." Sky remarked with a blink as he joined Neptune in looking at the moon sized entity.
This moment of wonder was capped off when a blonde boy—unable to comprehend what he was seeing—suddenly fainted on the spot with a loud thud.
"... Guess the view isn't for everyone." Yang commented with a sweatdrop.
"Yeah, no kidding." Ruby nodded with her own sweatdrop.
"Poor guy." Neptune winced.
"Yeah." Sky hummed as they neared the school.
ThermalsniperN7: Finally got it started. This is a rewrite of The Taken King's Ascension, and we have a much better grip on it than the last version.
Dragon Emperor0: Yes! Hello readers! As you can probably see, we've revamped this story and really managed to whittle our characters down to their 'Final Shape' as it were. That includes revamped designs, weapons, backstories, overall characters. It's all of far better quality if I do say so myself.
ThermalsniperN7: I second that. For Sky's character, he's still based on Oryx, but has a dash of Meliodas from SDS to lighten him up. He also has an aunt-nephew relationship with Glynda, which is nice. Ace, meanwhile, is Red Hood with a dash of Ban to not make him a revenge obsessed edgy teen. That's just the tip of the iceberg.
Dragon Emperor0: In the words of the dearly departed Lance Reddick (May he rest in pepperoni): Indeed. Baki fans are gonna love our version of Sun. And any of you guys who like MCU Star Lord? Well, say hello to his RWBY equivalent—Neptune!
ThermalsniperN7: He's thalassophobic, yet has a water based semblance. That's pretty ironic… And he also has a dash of Roronora Zoro to mess up his sense of direction. Funny. Anyway, the pairings are the following, and we've fleshed these out, too: Sky x Yang, Ace x Weiss, Ruby x Neptune (this chapter's show of their potential chemistry made things kinda make it a good choice), Blake x Sun, Ivory (Sky's uncle) x Glynda and Shan Wukong x Salem.
Dragon Emperor0: That last one will make more sense later on when things get going a bit further. But beyond that, if anyone has any suggestions on how we can implement the various story beats of Destiny and Destiny 2 into the story—let us know. It has the potential of really helping us avoid writer's block, the bane of a writer's existence.
ThermalsniperN7: Yeah, so help us wherever you guys can. Seriously, we'll need it to make this story good—in a timely fashion, I mean. Anyway, see you guys next time.
