A/N: Shenanigans but make it mafia-style

I don't own pitch perfect.

Aubrey wasn't sure what exactly it was that she was expecting when she met with Chloe and Beca – and apparently Lilly – late night at the Beale and Posen law offices. She supposed she expected some kind of briefing, Beca explaining what happened that night, maybe some clarity?

In a way that was what she got. But she also got clued into more. Lilly apparently was Beca's undercover bodyguard, which somewhat made sense based on the timeline of their arrival, and Beca's apparent vast wealth. Beca confirmed what she knew about the researcher and the Uncle Chris. She recalled the events of the night to the best of her abilities until she lost her consciousness. Chloe then shared what she knew about the firm and suspected that Kommissar was the one who handled things that way, possibly with the blessing of Babel's CEO.

"Which is what I thought as much, so I already took the liberty of sending a message to him," Beca commented.

"Beca, what did you do?" Aubrey asked, sounding cautious.

"How?" on the other hand, was Chloe's question.

"Luke, he's here to help us too you know," Beca then said.

"Okay, but what did you do? I haven't exactly agreed to murder," Aubrey then said. "Because I can't quite predict what you might just do, you seem to be capable of anything."

"Don't worry about it, Aubrey, I already promised to that," Beca replied. "You can't beat a cheater in a game if you don't find a way to even out the odds. We'll find our allies, and deliver Babel to justice. We'll exhaust any and all ways we can to do that. Throw in DSM in there as well. At the same time, we get to have our fun as well."

"You haven't answered, yet, what message did you send?" Aubrey pressed on. "You didn't send him the decapitated head of a horse and placed it under his sheets, now, did you?" she asked, remembering Beca's offer to Tom, the director of Babel E&C, that he couldn't refuse.

"But the CEO doesn't have horses," Chloe noted.

"I'm not so heartless as to kill an innocent horse, you know?" Beca said with a sigh. "I sent him a pillow."

"Okay," Aubrey. "What's on the pillow, Beca?"

"A bunch of needles filled with something that looked like blood, all stabbed into it," Beca explained. "It's food coloring, though, so you can calm down."

"I don't know if I should be impressed or be worried that I know about this," Aubrey said smiling. There was a part of her that relished the thought of seeing the CEO of Babel freaked out about the sudden message. "I'm guessing you still left it under his sheets, that's breaking and entering."

"They've already resorted to murder, trust me, they're getting off with it easy," Beca noted.

"So, what happens next?" Chloe then asked. "We've already lost the trial with RDU-90, the issue with Barden Tower is really our only chance left to face them in court."

"Ah, but that's why you have me," Beca commented and Aubrey would be lying if she said that she wasn't intrigued. So far, Beca has had a proven track record of surprising them at every turn with every single plan she comes up with. Her methods were unconventional, to say the least, coupled with the wealth and the bodyguard, and her unfazed nature of the threat they were facing, Aubrey had an inkling of a feeling of what Beca's background might just be.

Aubrey wasn't sure how to feel about it if proven true, but this was their fighting chance to actually make a difference and topple over a powerful enemy like Babel who abused their power and bent the law to their will.

They were done playing nice, they've tried the morally right method for doing things, which meant it was time they had the devil take the charge of the fight. Beca was right, as much as Aubrey hated to admit it. Everything would be for naught, even Uncle Chris' death. You can't slay a dragon without being tainted by its blood after all.

"The Kommissar will get a message of her own, I'll make sure of it," Beca then said with a serious tone. The look in her eyes were all that Aubrey needed to know that Beca wasn't messing around either. "But she couldn't have done it alone. I remember that night, the man with the cap… Some of the stores and street corners have CCTV cameras and Luke is working on identifying that man, if at all possible. As for the researcher who died, Lilly already provided me the info I need based on recordings from the hotel the researcher was staying in and the movement of guests and visitors. We've ID'd the man already and I have a feeling he can help us ID the man driving the truck who escaped."

"I guess the next step is finding them?" Chloe asked.

"Luke's been following the guy who did the job on the reporter. We know his habits, we can nab him and interrogate him tomorrow night," Beca replied. "We move on from there. As for Babel directly, I'm sure we'll have plenty more opportunities to sink them with lawsuits. Before anything though, we need to identify their connections to the police force and the prosecutor's office. DSM's too, and maybe get to know anyone in public offices that are in their pocket."

"I guess that part of the plan is more wait and see," Aubrey then said thoughtfully. "I suppose we can look into their previous lawsuits, reach out to victims…"

"Speaking of victims…" Beca then said, interrupting her thoughts. "We still need to give the family of their victims with RDU-90 some semblance of justice, and I have just the plan for it, but we'll need more bodies for that."

"Bodies?" Chloe asked.

"I was hoping our lovely tenants here in the tower are more than willing to help us with it," Beca then edified.

"Well, I guess we have an actual plan of action then," Chloe then noted. "So, Bree, what do you think?"

"The two of you seem deadest in your plans, even if I didn't want too, you'd go ahead with them anyways," Aubrey remarked. "Besides, I do want to give Babel a taste of their own medicine and you'll need an extra pair of competent hands, of course I'm in."

"Count me in as well," Aubrey then heard Emily say. She wasn't expecting her to still be in the office and she was sure that their doors were locked that she practically jolted up from her seat when she heard her voice.

Chloe and Beca did the same, only Lilly wasn't surprised she was there.

"Where did you come from?" Beca asked.

"Oh, I fell asleep here while studying, by the coffee table in the rest corner of the office," Emily said before demonstrating how the coffee table could easily hide her between one of their two loveseats, the one adjacent to the wall and perpendicular to the TV. Sure enough, Emily's LSAT reviewer and study materials were scattered on the coffee table as well. "But that's beside the point, I want to help."

"No," Aubrey chorused with Chloe, and Beca too, sounding a little protective of Emily.

"Oh, come on! I know I can't fight physically and I'm not a lawyer, but I am your paralegal and I'm good with research. Plus, I was part of the theater group in college, I did a lot of make up and costume and I'm pretty good with stage tricks too."

"Emily, you can't be – " Aubrey started to argue before Beca raised a hand to stop her.

"Maybe she can help us after all," she then said. "But only with what we tell you to do, okay? Emily?"

"You got it!" Emily then replied rather enthusiastically.

And with that, "Operation: Take Babel Down" or so Emily called it, was in set in motion.

Chloe was quick to discover that when Beca promised something, Beca always delivered.

The following night, Beca, Aubrey, Lilly, Emily, and of course herself went out to "pick up" the first of their two targets. Aubrey and Emily waited in their ride, a shiny new Cadillac SUV that Beca bought that very morning, while Chloe and Beca infiltrated some underground gambling ring. Chloe felt like they honestly stood out like a sore thumb, mostly because of Beca who was dressed in her usual fashion. Tonight's look was a rather dapper dark blue suit ensemble, suit vest and pinstriped tie included. She at least wore comfortable loafers instead of heals. Lilly, also in a dark suit ensemble, very bodyguard-like, was also somewhere in the room, close to a different exit, watching everyone's movements while enjoying a cup of instant coffee. There, they kept watch of a portly young man named Justin. The two of them stayed at their own table, pretending to be immersed in their own game, and waited until Justin stood up to go to the bathroom before Chloe and Beca followed.

"Wait here," Beca said in a hushed tone towards Chloe.

"You're not going in there alone, are you? That's the men's room," Chloe pointed out. Beca gave her a deadpan look in response. "What if they gang up on you in there?"

"Then you make sure no one else enters, and I make sure I politely ask them all to scram before I put the fear of God in them."

"Your kind of too cute to be making those kinds of threats, you know," Chloe insisted, blushing a little at her admittance.

"Then they'll learn hard and fast that looks could be deceiving," Beca replied with a chuckle. "Lilly's not far, if you're worried."

"I'm not worried," Chloe insisted.

"Then would you mind letting go of my hand? You're kinda holding it too tightly," Beca then said. Chloe didn't even notice that she had instinctively grabbed a hold of it – with both hands – until Beca made a comment about it.

Chloe simply nodded and Beca wasted not time in infiltrating the men's room. Chloe heard nothing in the form of protests and saw nothing. Barely a minute past and Chloe hears things smashing, wood breaking, and some rough grunting. She was concerned, half wanting to check in on Beca, half wanting to call for Lilly. It was as if Beca's bodyguard was a mind-reader because as soon as Chloe thought about it, Lilly showed up right next to her. "You're not a ninja, are you?" Chloe ended up asking out loud, but Lilly gave no response.

The noises inside stopped, and Beca stepped out, fixing her suit. "He's unconscious on the floor," she then told Lilly. "But you can pick him up by the legs to drag him out the back exit if you want. We'll set things up in the next location."

Chloe, in the meantime, spent the time Beca was giving Lilly instructions to look for any scratch marks or bruises on her, but other than the ones still healing from her accident, she couldn't find any other.

"Come on, we've got a lot to do," she then heard Beca say to her as she placed a hand down Chloe's back and ushered her out.

Chloe simply nodded in silence, impressed.

The next phase of the plan was to draw out Justin's partner. Justin was currently black and blue, his hands tied to the wheel of Beca's SUV. When he woke up – thanks to a whiff of ammonia – he was already fixed in place. Beca fished for his phone earlier, and under the threat of Lilly vivisecting him, Justin cooperated with giving some answers. The man with the cap was named Tommy. The two of them worked together, doing odd – questionable and illegal – jobs for Luisa, the Kommissar. The two of them were ordered to take out the researcher and the lawyer after Babel, aka Chloe's father. Justin killed the researcher, and Tommy did in the lawyer. Chloe's blood boiled upon hearing a confirmation of the truth. Given the name, Beca searched for the contact on his list and dialed the number. Under the instructions given to him, Justin asked Tommy to meet at a rooftop parking lot.

Chloe, Beca, Lilly, Aubrey, and Emily, hid a few cars away and waited for Tommy to arrive in his Prius. Chloe had to admit, that was not a car she thought henchmen like him drove, but Tommy seemed to be an unsuspecting henchman to begin with. He was a little bit scrawny and award with the way he moved, but Beca remembered the cap he was wearing well. She knew it was the same person, the man they were looking for.

Tommy looked surprised to see Justin tied up to the wheel, and before he could do anything else, Lilly knocked him out.

The next phase of the plan needed a bit of time to set up.

They drove on to an abandoned mall somewhere downtown. Luke had secured the place for them through his contacts was all the explanation that Beca had given them.

They set up the knocked-out Tommy in the middle of what used to be a food court, trying him up in a chair there. They then did the same with a cooperative Justin but placed him behind one of the barriers with fake plants on top, only showing the top half of his body from where Tommy sat. His mouth was covered with duct tape.

Aubrey and Beca joined Chloe in standing around Tommy. Lilly hid in the shadows, and Emily got ready behind a pillar somewhere past where Justin was.

Beca had a plastic bucket of iced water ready. She poured its contents on Tommy and woke him up. "Rise and shine," Beca then said.

The three of them then proceed to take turns asking Tommy to the same questions they asked Justin, while also telling him that Justin sang like a baby about Tommy's part. Tommy, however, was a tougher nut to crack. Knowing this ahead of time, Beca had asked Luke to secure her a gun. She pulled it out of her suit blaze and pointed it at Tommy. "Talk, or it's over."

"I'm not talking," Tommy argued back. "All the three of you can do is threaten, you don't know what will happen to me if I did."

"I guess he's not afraid of us," Aubrey noted. "He's right though, kind of."

"Well then, I guess we have no choice," Beca said. "Chloe, you do the honors."

"Of what?" Chloe asked.

"Pick which one we should keep," Beca then edified. Pointing the gun towards Justin, and then back towards Tommy.

"Beca, you promised," Chloe reiterated. "Besides, Justin said he'd give us Tommy and nothing else, he did his part already. I'm sure there's another way."

"There isn't," Beca said with a finality. "But you are right about one thing, we have no use for one of them anymore," she went on to say, pointing the gun at Justin once again and pulling the trigger without even so much as blinking an eye.

The shot echoed throughout the abandoned mall. Blood seeped through Justin's shirt, the last thing Chloe saw of him, before his seat fell over and completely hid him from view. Both Chloe and Aubrey jumped up and a step away, surprised with the sudden turn of events.

"Are you insane?" Tommy then exclaimed.

"Talk," Beca said, her voice cold and sharp, her tone serious. She walked over to where Tommy sat, pointing the gun at an angle above his knees. "Or I'm blowing your kneecaps next, one at a time. And if that still doesn't get you talking, then I guess we won't have any use for you either."

"Beca, no!" Aubrey yelled.

"Beca, please," Chloe pleaded.

"Well?" Beca pressed on, unfazed.

"Alright, fine," Tommy then said before telling them the same things Justin said, corroborating their stories. He even provided extra info on payment, and how long they've been working for the Kommissar, how they met, her habits that they've noticed. All of it.

Once it was over, Beca thanked him, raised the gun and pointed it at his skull, and pulled the trigger.

Tommy yelped, fearing the worse. But no sound came. No loud bang.

"Oh, come on, what happened?" Beca then asked.

Emily stepped out of the pillar and moved towards them. "Sorry, my phone died."

Tommy looked very confused, and Beca chuckled. Chloe couldn't help but smile herself as Aubrey walked towards a similar barrier behind Tommy to fish out the small, but powerful and loud speaker, that was hidden inside.

Lilly stepped out of thee shadows and brought Justin's seat back up, taking off the duct tape on his mouth and remove the pack of fake blood underneath his shirt. Tommy looked completely at a loss for words.

"It's a rubber gun," Beca said with a grin, providing the answer he was looking for, while brandishing the toy gun in the air.

Tommy let out a sigh of relief. "Don't think this is over just yet, you're alive because of her," Beca went on, nodding towards Chloe. "You owe her that, which means from now on, you're going to work on repaying that debt."

The two nodded vigorously.

"Guess Emily's expertise really came through for us," Aubrey then noted.

"Yeah, and dare I say we did great ourselves with our acting skills," Chloe then beamed with a smile. "Also, look at you Beca, you were really convincing, have you ever handled a gun before?"

Beca simply shrugged, and Aubrey shook her head at Chloe despite a smile on her face. "Why do I get to feel like you're starting to enjoy this?"

"So, what's next?" Emily then asked before Chloe could respond to Aubrey's question.

"We still have a photoshoot to finish," Beca said, looking over Justin and Tommy. "I hope you cooperate well with us."

The two nodded as Lilly and Emily worked to free them from their restraints.

Chloe wasn't sure how she felt about working with the hired hands who killed her father, but Beca convinced her they needed hired help for a few things they might need, things she'd rather not Chloe, Aubrey, Emily, or the rest of the Barden Tower residents do. When the time comes, they'll meet a punishment fitting for their crimes, Beca promised as much.

And since Beca promised, Chloe believed.

A lifetime in prison, or maybe more, they didn't feel enough.

But it would have to do.

Chloe wasrallying the residents for the next phases of their plan, keeping her busy the next night. She was a little bit disappointed that she wasn't here with her for the next part of the plan. If Beca had to admit it, she was starting to grow fond of her.

Emily volunteered to join her, but Beca insisted that she had done quite enough for now, she had her own task to focus on as well. Aubrey, on the other hand, was busy with the families of the victims for the next part of their revenge plan as well.

Beca stood on the rooftop of a building across where a laundromat was. That laundromat was the closest one from Luisa's apartment. Earlier that morning, Luisa's washer and dryer system in her apartment had a little "malfunction" – courtesy of Lilly – and was thus forced to do her laundry outside her home. Beca brought up a pair of binoculars to her eyes and watched the rather tall attorney dance to what she assumed to be Zumba music based on her intel while waiting for her load too finish. She figured she would have had to wait for a chance to send her a message as well, but based on what Tommy shared, today was the day Luisa would do most her chores, including laundry. That meant she rarely met with them for any job on that day, and if they did have to, she'd schedule it at a laundromat much like that one so she could get things done as efficiently as possible.

The laundromat was empty, saved for Luisa, and it had an electronic lock on the doors since it was built to mostly function like an unmanned store. A lot of the things were automated or required money and coins to be inserted inside. There was even a vending machine-like dispenser for detergent in case people needed some.

Beca received a message on her phone from Lilly, everything was set. Beca set down the

Show time.

Beca fished out Justin's phone from her pants pocket, and started to call Tommy's phone, one that was on top of a pile of laundry forgotten inside the laundromat. The ringer was set to the max volume, making sure that Luisa would notice it.

And that she did. Luisa walked towards the laundry basket, and saw the phone. Beca sent a message using Justin's phone. "Answer." She then followed it up with the pictures they took the night before of a bloodied Justin and Tommy who were pretending to be dead.

Luisa clearly saw the message and picked it up. The phone's lock feature was disabled and she clearly saw the photos judging from her expression. In the process of dropping the phone back into the basket, Luisa noticed the clothes inside were bloody and matched what Justin and Tommy had been wearing from the photos.

Perfetto.

Using her own phone once again, Beca sent Lilly a message.

The power on the block had been cut. Beca chuckled as she remembered Aubrey insisting that they notify everyone else about a power outage lasting for a few minutes under the guise of maintenance work, except for the laundromat of course, and Beca complied. As soon as the blackout settled, Luisa frantically tried to find a way out of the building once more, but she was stuck inside. That's when Beca switched phones again and used Justin's to call Tommy's number.

This time, Luisa picked up.

"See how easy it is to get you if I wanted to?" Beca said over the line.

"Who are you? What is this?" Luisa asked, trying not to sound like she was panicking.

"I want you to admit it. What you did."

"I don't know what you're talking about!" she denied.

"Let me remind you then," Beca said coolly. From the rooftop, she raised her hand, a signal for Lilly who was watching her elsewhere. Lilly then sent the go ahead for Tommy. From the corner of the street, a speeding white truck with bright flashing headlights drove up to the laundromat and just inches away from the store. If he hadn't timed it right, the truck would have crashed into it, like the night of the incident.

Luisa screamed and rushed to one end of the store before falling on to her knees. It was clear she was scared witless by it.

Beca sported a self-satisfied smirk. It was just a taste. If Chloe had said so, she would be dead now.

But, Beca supposed, Chloe wanted to do this properly and bring her to justice in a way her father would have instead, some unusual methods thrown in there to mix things up for good measure. The truck back up and drove off just as planned afterwards.

"Consider this a warning," Beca then said. "Come clean about your role in all of it, and I might give you mercy. But if you don't, well, I dread to think what might come next."

Beca hung up the call, and the power was restored.

And soon, so will truth and justice, Beca thought.

Everything was ready by the time that Beca got back from sending the Kommissar a message.

Two white vans were parked outside Barden tower, the residents loaded up in one, and the victim's family in the other. The van had a label for a fake fumigation company. Beca excused herself for a few minutes, wanting to get changed into plain clothes for the second half of their activities for the night. Emily was a little disappointed, Beca looked good in her current get up. Grey suit vest, pants, and button-down shirt, with a light pink neck tie to pull the look together. It looked so effortlessly business casual, and Emily was taking notes of it.

When Beca got back to join them she was wearing a black long sleeve shirt, jeans, and black sneakers Her hair was tied back, and she sported a black cap and mask.

Everyone else was dressed similarly, but with the addition of white hazmat suits. They drove on off to where the manufacturing site was for Babel Pharmaceuticals.

Emily sat on the passenger seat in front with Beca, the seat being spacious for two. Beca took the window seat, with Emily sat between her and Luke who was driving. They were in the van with the family of the victims. The three of them dressed similarly with the mask and the cap. Chloe and Aubrey were with Lilly in the other van with the tenants.

Their van led the way, with Luke letting the guard at the facility know they were here to fumigate for pests and make sure that the site was following regulations. The guard let them in with no problem.

Once there, Beca and Emily helped secure the hazmats for the family members. Chloe and Aubrey did the same with the tenants. When one of the guards got curious why they were wearing masks if they weren't part of the fumigation team and were part of the team only going to inspect the site, Beca said it was to protect from inhaling the solution the fumigation team was spraying and encouraged the guards to do the same, even offering them masks too. Beca checked that everyone working there had gone home so that no one would be exposed to the solution in real time and the guards confirmed it to her. Beca then assured them that the solution would had been gone and dispersed by tomorrow morning and it would be safe to resume work.

It all looked very legit.

They all split off. The plan was to spray the labs and the chemical storage area the most, specifically, where they had stored the manufactured RDU-90. There, they'll start from the back and move through the facility, spraying every inch of it back to the front. Under the guise of inspection, Luke, Beca, Aubrey, Chloe, Lilly, and Emily herself turned off and disabled the sprinkler system. Once done, they got back into their respective vans and awaited the fumigation team.

Emily kept her eyes fixed on the entrance, feeling a little nervous. She felt like she was some super spy of some sort from the novels she read and the shows she had enjoyed watching. Beca on the other hand was very calm next to her, fiddling with a fancy looking lighter she had bought the other night on their way back from their little set-up. Emily supposed, it was so that she didn't lose the one she had already seen Beca possessed with some fancy insignia on it. It was probably an expensive one.

Beca kept flicking the lid on and off, only increasing Emily's anticipation.

The fumigation team finished, and stepped out, some of the tenants – Emily wasn't sure who was who at this point exactly – spraying the outside up to where the vans were parked before packing up the equipment and heading into their assigned van.

Lilly's car drove on ahead first.

Followed by theirs.

But as Luke turned on the engine of their van, Beca rolled down the window to her side, and as soon as he drove off, she flicked the lid of the lighter one last time, this time igniting the flame, and tossed it outside.

Emily watched from the side mirror as the flames started spreading into the manufacturing facility. They had just entered the interstate when they heard a loud boom in the distance.

If the law failed to protect people from consuming a dangerous narcotic, then the best next thing was to make sure that RDU-90 wouldn't even exist to be consumed, at least that was Beca's argument.

There was a look of relief as the family members of the testing victims removed their suits, followed by a sense of accomplishment. They might have lost the lawsuit, but they had won in their fight against Babel. Beca pretty much made sure of that.

Emily smiled softly to herself as well.

This was just the beginning. Babel will go down.

"Vincerò," Beca muttered under her breath next to Emily, and Emily quickly googled it, wanting to know what it meant.

I will win.

No.

Emily typed in what she wanted to say in google translate

"Vinceremò," Emily mouthed, not daring to speak out loud in case Beca heard her. She would die of embarrassment if Beca did, especially if Emily ended up butchering the words

We will win.

A/N Pt 2: And that's just a taste of Beca's personal brand of justice!

The question is, what's coming next, because Kommissar (and Babel) won't take things lying down

UPNEXT: Another drug (they just keep pumping these things out, huh?)! Another trial?! And Beca meets Chicago!
