A/N: We have more Calamitous shenanigans here, hehe

Sorry for the delays, I sprained my upper back and then I sprained my hip… so… yeah…

I am in less pain now though 3

Anyways… something happens towards the end where we get badass Beca

I don't own pitch perfect.

The day was bright and sunny, the weather was nice too. It was the tail end of summer, with a cool early fall breeze greeting them in their early morning drive to the amusement park. Aubrey was in charge of driving for their car as they tailed Beca's from the moment they left Barden Tower, to the time she picked up Calamity, and all the way to the park.

Chloe looked extra grumpy that morning. Emily didn't even think it would be possible to see her in such a state and she could only help but wonder why.

Beca, Emily knew based on her numerous protests and the scowl on her face when she left Barden Tower, was equally uncomfortable with the date that she asked for in the first place, but Emily had to had it to her, she was very much committed to the role. She was the perfect gentlewoman. She smiled as charming as she could whenever Calamity would cling onto her, as they walked hand-in-hand all couple like while the three of them followed them around wore their disguises – a few of those whacky colorful souvenir hats, ridiculously large sunglasses, and a small pair of binoculars so they could keep an eye on their target from a safe distance.

Chloe looked about ready to murder someone by the time they got to the horror house and Calamity was practically joined to the hips with Beca, being all touchy feely. Beca showed no signs of discomfort as she soldiered on. Aubrey looked amused and continuously teased Chloe while they went about the park. Perhaps the first time Chloe looked like she was actually enjoying things was when the actors playing zombies jumped out of their hiding spots from the horror house for an afternoon performance outside to attract visitors to check out the attraction. Calamity all but jumped away from Beca, letting her go and started freaking out, seemingly collapsing and crying on the ground.

A flash of a mischievous smile very briefly formed on Beca's lips before she shook it off and resumed her role as a caring date to calm Calamity down and whisk her away from the horror house.

Chloe only looked the more irritated with how Beca then fussed over her, and slowly, just maybe, Emily was starting to realize why.

A look of realization dawned on Emily's face when she finally figured it out, Aubrey seemed to be watching her piece it together when it did, earning her a chuckle from the fierce blonde lawyer she had been working with the last few years.

Why didn't she figure things out sooner?

Emily face palmed at the realization until Chloe squealed. They were in a restaurant for an early dinner when the news about Babel and Calamity's companies were featured. Beca took this as a cue. The plan was to get Calamity to back out of the deal, well, part of it was. This was Beca's opening to talk about Babel.

From where they sat by the bar, Emily watched Beca dramatically show her disgust about Babel. Calamity seemed to already be head over heels in love with Beca as she tried to calm her down and assured her that if her mother didn't want to make a deal with them, then she wouldn't. Beca doubled down, just as the other visitors were watching the drama unfold in front of them, saying that she cared about Calamity and on top of Babel's recently broadcast nefarious activities, she was simply worried that she would get hurt. Calamity seemed moved by this but Beca never let her have the chance to say anything about it and all but made a dramatic exit as she marched out of the restaurant and into the direction of the parking lot.

Aubrey hurriedly paid for dinner then, Emily keeping an eye on Calamity as she chased after Beca. Chloe chuckled as the restaurant manager then chased after Calamity to pay for their meal. By the time the three of them caught up, Calamity was throwing wads of cash the restaurant manager to let her be and look for Beca. Aubrey urged Emily and Chloe on to the parking lot, so that it wouldn't be obvious they were watching her and so that they can make a clean getaway, in the distance they could see Beca's car circling the parking lot. She turned on her hazard lights to signal she spotted them and drove past where they parked a few times until they got in the car. Once they were ready to go, Beca led the way and drove off. They followed shortly, all in time for Calamity to finally make it to the parking lot watching as Beca drove her car away, looking distraught and brokenhearted.

"I'm guessing the first phase of the plan is now complete," Aubrey then noted.

"I say it's more than clearly done," Chloe then chirruped, her moods doing a one-eighty from earlier that day.

They casted the bait and caught their target.

It's now time to reel it in and finish the job.

Beca wasn't sure what to feel, if she should still be fuming or amused. To be fair, she was still very much angry. There was a pit of bubbling rage at deep down inside of her, a kind she's never quite felt before. One she's never had to experience until she's learned the truth about Calamity and her family. But Beca did her best to reign it in and keep it in check. She had a part to play.

The amusement? They have fully set their plans into motion. At the moment, Beca was renting an office space on the second floor of a commercial building about two blocks away from Barden Tower. She had told Calamity she was a lawyer who wanted to fight for socioeconomic justice and advocate for change. All part of the plan to push her away from Babel. After the show she's put on at the amusement park the night before, she had been ignoring Calamity's calls. Which led them to their current situation where Calamity was standing outside, on the other side of the street, eyes firmly fixed on the windows of Beca's fake law firm office, holding up her phone that showcased scrolling messages for Beca, asking for her forgiveness, looking pretty pathetic at that.

And then it started to rain.

Calamity remained unmoved. She persisted, despite getting soaked by the rain, shivering thanks to the sudden cold weather blowing through. At one point, she fished out one of those pocket portable battery to chargers so she can keep up with her attempts of winning Beca's forgiveness.

The president and CEO of a bank and a financial firm was then thus reduced to a lovesick puppy willing to do anything for the person they hold the most affections for.

When the wind picked up, and the rain got stronger, Beca thought it was time for the next phase of the plan. It was probably like a scene straight out of a telenovela for anyone watching them. If anything, that made Beca channel her inner telenovela romantic lead even more. She ran out of the building with two umbrellas, one for her and one she offered to Calamity. The umbrella was already opened as well, so when she reached with Calamity, she was already providing her some shelter from the storm. Calamity was so moved by this she fell onto her knees and hugged Beca's legs, profusely apologizing for Babel and promising to do anything to make it up for her.

Unfortunately, she was still torn about pulling away from the Babel deal.

Thankfully, Beca was prepared for this possibility, a back plan had already been made in place.

Now it was all about moving the right pieces on her chess board to where they need to be for her plan to unfold.

Would it be a checkmate?

Only one way to find out.

"If I can't change your mind, then the least I can do is help you, right?" Beca then replied, drying Calamity's hair with a handkerchief, gently patting at it.

"Help? How? But Bea…" Calamity replied, unsure what it was.

Beca tried her best to make it look like she was so torn out about it. "Make this deal an absolute big event, one to not forget."

"And how would I do that?"

"Have you thought about doing the signing in public? Make it a big news event to help boost Babel's PR. I know just the place to do it too," Beca then said.

"Where?"

Beca smiled. She tried very hard not to smirk or give away anything she was really feeling. She remembered the words Chloe told her when they both begrudgingly agreed to this plan in the first place. Conceal, don't feel.

"At an opera house," she then said, earning a curious look from Calamity, but Beca didn't waste anytime explaining.

Calamity would soon find out anyways.

The whole thing was set-up like a movie premiere complete with a red carpet. The stars of the show were Theo Walters, his goons dressed up as lawyers at DSM with Luisa, Pieter, and Chicago leading the charge. Calamity soon arrived with her own personnel.

Chloe, Aubrey, Emily, and Beca herself suited up in their usual fashion, blending in with the journalists gathering in the place to secure some seats at a private booth. Media personnel and staff from DSM, Babel directors, and some of the higher ups from both Evergreen Banks and the Moist Financial Firm were all in attendance.

"How sure are you this is going to work?" Chloe asked as she watched an emcee introduce both Theo and Calamity on the stage.

The whole thing was rather theatrical, Beca's idea.

"Oh, it will work," Beca then replied, typing something in her phone. She was using the same program as calamity was with her scrolling messages, typing in "I believe in you! I believe you'll do the right thing 3"

Aubrey was chuckling as she peered over Beca's shoulder to read the message. Before Beca ran the program. Calamity and Theo were seated, folders were handed over to them for their signature, and as expected, Calamity searched for Beca's face in the crowd, saw her, and saw her message.

Calamity looked uncertain of what to do next, stalling to sign the document.

And right on cue, Beca's desired effect had worked.

Calamity stood up and walked towards the emcee, borrowing his mic. "I can't sign this document, I can't pursue this deal with Babel," she said, growing more and more confident with her words by the minute, as she explained how her conscience can't let her work with an evil company like Babel. This led to the gasps in the crowd. Beca kept her eyes on the DSM team, enjoying their reactions. When Luisa spotted her, realization dawning on her face, Beca even dared to throw in a wink.

But her enjoyment of the spectacle didn't last long. A well-poised woman, around Don Fabio's age when he passed, came up on the stage along with her two corgis, followed by her body guards. She handed the corgis to the bodyguard before marching towards Calamity, snatching the mic from her hands, and slapping her in the face.

"I should've known," Aubrey said with a sigh. "Serenity Moist," she then added, turning to Beca and nodding towards the older woman on stage who volunteered to sign the documents on her daughter's behalf. Beca schooled her features, masking any ill feeling she had about the woman before turning to where DSM was in the crowd. The smirk on Luisa's face said it all. They went on a counter-offensive, anticipating that Beca and her allies would make a move.

Beca quickly typed in a new message in her phone before running the same scrolling banner program once more. This time she showed it over to Luisa.

"Well Played"

"That was close," Emily then said, disappointed. "What now?"

"We still have phase two of the plan," Beca then said with a smirk, as her eyes landed on Calamity being escorted off-stage by additional security.

The security being Jessica, Cynthia Rose, and Jesse.

Maybe they don't take down Babel tonight, but they Beca intended that they will begin to make the Evermoist family pay for their crimes.

And that was a promise.

Denise wasn't sure what to expect when Beca came to her dance studio the other night with a plan. She had summoned Stacie, Flo, and Ashley as well before giving them a proposal. She then brought along Jessica, Cynthia Rose, and Jesse to square away the final details of the plan.

It was a job. A simple job.

But a meaningful job.

Beca managed to find a way to get Jesse, Cynthia Rose, and Jessica with the security detail for the event. She accounted for all possible outcomes of what would happened, but in each and every scenario it would end the same. Calamity will leave the stage, the three of them would be the one to whisk her away and lock her up in one of the waiting rooms. They will put a "do not disturb – rehearsals on going" sign on the door so that no one would catch them in what they were planning.

That part of the plan was a success so far.

Then comes Denise's job with girls.

All four of them were in their own lockers in the dressing room. There was a total of eight. It was one of those big room that could accommodate a good number of performers at a time, making it rather spacious.

Through the grate of the lockers, Denise saw Calamity looking incredibly confused. The bulbs in the room were all replaced with red light, giving an eerie effect, and she had been effectively locked inside.

The lockers that didn't have any of the four had buckets of dry ice rigged in some kind of fashion so that Denise only needed to press a button on a keychain she had and a fake fog would set in the room.

Calamity was spooked.

It was showtime.

The keychain that Stacie had was rigged to open the lockers they were in. Once that happened all four of them were very much in character. Dressed in tattered clothes, they slow crawled towards Calamity in a movement that Denise had choreographed for them. Flo did the make-up, making them look spectacularly spooky from what Denise could see of their reflections by the dressers. They were very much realistic-looking zombies.

Calamity screamed from the top of her lungs, scurrying away towards a corner of the dressing room, trying to kick down chairs and lamps and furniture but Denise and the others were quick on their feet.

Stacie was the first to reach her, getting handsy and even leaving a playful bit on her arm, Flo was saying random delicacies and licking her lips, Ashley channeled her inner demonic laugh that dialed-up the spooks to a hundred. Denise barely had to do anything. Calamity was shivering, fighting them off the best she could, her voice already sounding hoarse from all the screaming.

With Flo was a keychain with a button to open the lock on the door. They had about five minutes of this torture, that was all Beca asked, based on the itinerary for the signing ceremony and accounting for any deviations.

Only a minute had passed.

And Denise and the other girls knew they were going to enjoy the next four.

Aubrey took her time making her way down the grand staircase that led to the upper floor of the opera house, housing the entrance to the private booths. Beca led the way with Chloe, Emily on the other hand trailed behind Aubrey.

She kept her eyes trained on Beca at all times, their favorite mafia lawyer looking calm and unbothered by their failure to thwart the deal. But Beca seemed to be more interested in ruining the Evergreen Banks and Moist Financial Firm in the first place, at least that's what she gathered when Beca explained to them her plans the night she found out the truth from Calamity. The truth about her father's case that is.

Aubrey would be lying if she said she wasn't impressed with the cold and calculating way Beca maneuvered the pieces of her plan to where they should be. How she controlled Calamity's every move with ease, trusting in her own understanding of how she thinks and manipulating all the events that followed.

She was truly glad she was on their side, and hey, at least no one was dead yet.

Beca stopped midway down the steps, Chloe beside her. Aubrey did the same, two steps above them. Emily halted once she caught up to Aubrey. They watched as DSM took control of the situation of what Calamity had said and the commotion with her mother. Behind them, Theo and Serenity were exchanging small chitchat.

Beca looked at her watch. She didn't seem at all bothered by the self-satisfied smirk on the Kommissar's face when she finally saw them on the steps.

Perhaps wanting to add insult to injury, the Kommissar looked like she was about to make a move towards them, Chicago bumblingly moving behind her.

But Beca didn't even acknowledge her. Instead, she looked further behind them, down the direction that led to the backstage from the opposite side of the entrance hall.

A shrill scream filled the hall, and Calamity came running out towards them, looking incredibly haunted and worse for wear. She seemed to have spotted Beca on the stairs. Beca offered her an outstretched hand as she ran past the press, tripping a little and practically crawling towards where Beca stood until she was all but latched onto Beca's legs, shivering.

The Kommissar looked incredibly confused with the scene. Chicago all the more intrigued.

As is the usual for Beca's carefully crafted traps, however, no one had the time to react before Beca's final blow had taken them by surprise.

Police detectives instantly swarmed the scene looking for one Calamity Evermoist. Aubrey had to work double time to get a case started and it was really all thanks to Emily that they managed to track down most her assault victims in the short amount of time they had. They had the evidence they needed, and testimonies to boot. Beca needed simply to call the police for a tip, followed by Lilly dropping off the victims at the precinct, and being monitored – and protected – under her watchful eye as they made their statements during the signing ceremony.

It wasn't enough, they knew that. The fight was still ahead of them. Against Babel, and to clearing Dr. Mitchell's name, but it was a good start.

"I… I don't understand… who is Beca Bella, why would she leave a tip?" Calamity said as she was being taken away.

Beca pointed to herself. "Remember the name," she then said with a smirk.

Aubrey watched as Serenity approached the Kommissar and Pieter, demanding they help her daughter. Pieter promised just as much, as well as Theo. Kommissar didn't look pleased by the sudden turn of events at all.

Feeling empowered by the moment, and with the growing satisfaction of wiping the Kommissar's smirk off her face, Aubrey walked down the steps past Beca and Chloe and gathered the press to make a statement.

"That's just the start," she proudly said. "The crimes of the Evermoist family will be revealed to you all, we will right all their wrongs. From the violence Calamity inflicted on her victims, to the truth about the death of Gerard Evergreen. We will unveil them one by one. That is all."

Aubrey felt mighty proud of herself with that one, especially with the annoyed look on the Kommissar's face after her little declaration. She marched on down the steps and headed for the exit, with Emily close behind her. Beca and Chloe exchanged impressed looks before following them.

"It doesn't impress me much, that statement. Wasn't one of your senior partners found guilty of pressuring their witnesses to commit perjury just to take Babel down?" the Kommissar then asked.

Aubrey stopped on her tracks by the door, she was about to leave when DSM's she-devil spoke, that comment clearly about her Uncle Chris and what babel did to defame him. Aubrey could feel her blood boiling. She very much wanted to slap her in the face for that comment. But it wasn't her who had the pleasure of shutting up the Kommissar.

Chloe marched on back to where the Kommissar stood, head held high, Beca followed closely behind. She had a defiant look on her face when she spoke, her eyes meeting the Kommissar's straight on while addressing the press, "It's not just the Evermoists who we'll bring down. Babel too. I'm Chloe Beale, the daughter of Christopher Beale, the lawyer that the infamous Kommissar is speaking of. I'm here to continue the fight he started. My father is innocent, just like Dr. Robert Mitchell, the man currently paying for a crime he didn't commit, someone placed behind bars by the Evermoists to cover up their own nefarious deeds. Just like how we'll prove his innocence, we'll prove to you my father was right. We'll uncover Babel's corruption and make them pay for all the people they've hurt. Just wait and see, and enjoy the show."

The Kommissar looked poised to deliver a rebuttal just as the journalists created an uproar with all of their questions. Beca was quick to pull Chloe towards her, wrapping an arm behind her as she ushered her on. They weren't there to answer questions, but simply to declare war.

The two of them were practically chuckling when they reached Aubrey, and for her part, Aubrey was ready to hold the door open for them. Emily too.

It felt good.

The battle ahead was long, but it felt good to hear Chloe say what she said. It undoubtedly felt good for her to declare war against Babel in front of the press too. It was like a weight had been lifted from their chest.

But that wasn't all.

They felt empowered.

Yes, the fight was long, but Aubrey was sure now more than ever, that they will take Babel down for good.

Chloe wasn't sure why it started, but she wasn't going to complain much about it. Ever since she got out of jail, Beca had made it a habit of dropping her off at night. Beca was always ready with an excuse too, from wine, to picking up dinner from a nearby place, she seemed always ready to supplant Chloe with one.

So, maybe Chloe was just a little teensy bit uncomfortable and upset about the whole plan where Beca had to date Calamity to ensnare her in her trap, just maybe a little, but it never really mattered much, because at the end of the day, it was her and Beca together.

No risqué compromising situations with their target, just Beca being surprisingly adorable with her fake excuses, and Chloe enjoying the attention she was getting.

Tonight however, Beca seemed to be distracted. Possibly because of what had gone down at the opera house, or maybe because she was just tired all in all, it's been a tiring last couple of days and it may have just possibly hit Beca just how exhausted she was now that she could relax a little.

They said their goodbyes, no poor excuse to why she dropped Chloe off this time, and Chloe was almost a little bit disappointed at that. Instead, Beca kept looking over her shoulders, looking for something.

Chloe shrugged it off. As soon as she closed the door, she watched as Beca made her way back to her car through one of her windows and drive away. Once out of sight, that's when Chloe finally unrooted herself from where she stood and headed to the kitchen, deciding to make some tea to relax a little before she went to bed.

She had barely made it to her kitchen when her doorbell rang.

"Beca?" Chloe asked, curious if Beca came back for some reason.

There was almost a skip in her step as she walked towards the door and open it.

Only to immediately slam it shut again, trapping the arm of a tall strange man in between the door and the door frame.

He wore a black hoodie, a black cap, and a black mask to conceal his face. He looked to be well-built and strong. Chloe quickly grabbed the vase near the console table in her foyer to arm her with something as she ran inside. Her assailant quickly recovered from that initial attack on his arm, and kicked the door open. In his other hand he had a hammer, with a long wooden handle, using it to strike at Chloe.

Chloe was quick to dodge the first attack and threw the vase towards him but the attack didn't land. She then proceeded to grab a lamp to hit him on the head. That bought some time for her to make a run for it to the back door, but then another man in the same outfit broke down her door at the back. He too had a hammer.

Chloe's path towards the stairs was blocked by the other guy she hit with the lamp for any attempts at a second floor window exit and her exit route from her kitchen was also no longer an option. She figured the next best thing would be the window in her living room.

Chloe made a mad dash towards it, only to trip on something and fall down inches away from the coffee table. The man she had hit with the lamp had seemingly recovered in time for his companion to walk towards them and join in on the fun.

Except he didn't.

He instead looked back towards his entrance, the backdoor and rushed towards it. Why? Chloe wasn't sure, she was a little bit preoccupied of trying to come up with a strategy to leave, besides her view was blocked. But then the second guy got sent flying towards the man Chloe had already hit. The first assailant jumped out of the way, allowing his partner to crash into a side table with an iron cast figurine of the blind lady of justice falling on top of his head, rendering him unconscious. Both Chloe and the assailant looked towards the direction of the kitchen and that's when Beca stepped into the view, smoothening her suit blazer looking at them unimpressed. She had the other guys hammer with her and used it to block the first assailant's attack with his own hammer as he came rushing towards her.

Chloe's assailant was towering over Beca, but Beca fought effectively. She managed to disarm him of his hammer, the tool flying towards the front door before Beca flipped over the one she had so that the blunt end of the wooden handle was the one facing up. She used it to hit him on the side of his head, right on his ear, causing him to lose a bit of his balance. Beca dropped the hammer and, anticipating his movements, grabbed hold of one of his arms and flip-tossed him over, like what a practitioner would do. Beca then quickly rushed towards Chloe.

"I… I thought you left?" Chloe then said, trying to process what just happened.

Beca shook her head. "I noticed them trailing us. They drove past your house and parked at the end of the street but didn't go out, so I drove around the block to make them think I left," she replied, extending a hand to Chloe to help her stand up, which Chloe thankfully accepted. "Are you oka-"

Beca didn't get too finish that question, as the first assailant recovered and threw a hammer at them. Beca was quick to react, putting her hands around Chloe, protecting her head as she made the two of them duck. The hammer ended up shattering Chloe's window in the living room.

The assailant rushed them again but Beca was quick. She anchored her weight with her stance and threw one strong punch that had the assailant staggering backwards before completely collapsing. It was a total knock out.

Chloe was too stunned to speak at this point, one thought prevailed in her thoughts.

Beca Bella just saved her life.

A/N Pt 2: hehehe the next chapter is gonna be fun xD

UPNEXT: And then they were roommates!? And there's only one "bed"?!
