Note: SO sorry for the delay in posting, had a lot going on over the last week. I hope this chapter makes up for it. Thank you to everyone who keeps reading, even when I'm MIA. Truly doing this for you.

When Jessica Pearson checked her mail one chilly Chicago morning, her eyes caught the attention of a blue envelope among her usual stack of bills and catalogues.

Tossing the rest of the mail on the counter, she flipped the envelope around, her eyes locking in on the return address.

Mr. Harvey Specter & Ms. Donna Paulsen.

A smile began to form on her face as she tore into the envelope.

When she pulled out the contents, she was met with a yellow sticky note placed to strategically cover the photo on the piece of cardstock.

Tried to call you a few times but your assistant said you've been out of the country. Give me a call when you get this - have some things to catch you up on. - H

Removing the post-it from the card, Jessica's brows furrowed when she revealed a photo of her protege, alongside Donna and a little girl.

Please Join Us for Rosie's 1st Birthday

Still unsure of what she was looking at, she read on.

As many of you know, Rosie came into our lives two months ago. While the circumstances of her arrival were not without sadness, we have loved every day that we've had getting to know this little girl.

After the year she's had, she deserves to be celebrated with everyone who has loved her through this difficult time.

For those of you who have not yet been introduced, we can't wait for you to meet her.

Please join us on Saturday, November 5th at 1:00pm to celebrate the girl that made us a family.

With love,

Harvey & Donna

Jessica placed the card down on the counter, shaking her head. Well I'll be damned, she smiled to herself.

The week following Halloween was a blur as Donna prepped everything for Rosie's party.

While her heart was heavy that her dad wouldn't be there to celebrate her daughter, it pushed her to share the news with her mother. Like Jim, Clara Paulsen had her reservations about the situation, but she had always had a soft spot for Harvey. She could hear the way that her daughter talked about the daughter of her own, and although unconventional, she was able to separate the circumstances of the situation when she heard the love in Donna's voice as she told her about Rosie.

Her parents had been separated for most of Donna's life, and she had admittedly remained closer to her dad, but their recent interaction had reminded her that she had more family to share with her daughter than just him. She was grateful that although she could sense some hesitation in her mother's voice, she had the decency to at least hear Donna out. The sadness she had been carrying with her that week subsided slightly when Clara accepted her invitation to join them in the city for Rosie's birthday.

In addition to her mom, Mike and Rachel were flying in from Seattle, and Marcus was bringing the kids down from Boston. Lily had come into town Friday evening so she could spend the morning helping Donna put together the final touches for the day. Louis, Sheila, Samantha, Alex, Katrina, all coming to celebrate the tiniest member of the Pearson Specter Litt family.

When Harvey and Donna woke up to Rosie's babbles on the baby monitor Saturday morning, they could hardly contain their excitement as they raced each other into the little girl's room.

"MAMAAA!" Rosie squealed in excitement as her parents entered the room.

"Happy birthday, baby girl!" Donna scooped her up, tears in her eyes as she held her tight.

Harvey watched the moment between the two of them with a proud smile beaming across his face. If you had told him a year ago that he would have a one year old, let alone a one year old with Donna, he would have never believed it.

As if Rosie could sense the emotions that were bubbling up inside of him, she uncurled from her place on Donna's chest, throwing her tiny arms towards him.

"Dada!"

Harvey couldn't hold back the tears that had begun pooling in his eyes as he pulled the little girl into his arms.

Thinking back to the first time he held her in Pete's office, he couldn't believe where they were now. All of his doubts; every fear that raced through his mind on their first night together, every day he spent wondering if he could be enough for her, was beyond worth it to hear that word. He was her dad, and she knew it.

"That's right baby," he gave her a kiss, his eyes closed as he held her tightly. "Daddy loves you so much."

Donna's heart exploded as she watched the two of them. She couldn't help the tears that were falling as they all took in where they were.

Together. With a one year old. Together.

As much as this was a celebration of their little girl, it was also an opportunity for Harvey and Donna to thank their friends and family for their support as they settled into their new life as parents. Between the flexibility of the firm and the constant check-ins and offers to baby sit from their friends, they were feeling especially grateful to not only be celebrating their girl's first year of life, but for everyone who made the transition as smooth as it could be.

Donna couldn't stop smiling as their home filled with all of their closest friends, everyone wanting their turn to love on the birthday girl.

"I can't believe how big she's gotten," mused Rachel as she snuggled Rosie in her arms. "I can't believe it's only been two months."

Donna smiled watching her friend with her daughter, "I can't even remember what my life was like before she came into it," she ran her hands through the little girl's curls.

"Being a mom looks good on you, Donna," Rachel smiled.

"You don't look half bad with a baby in your arms either, Rach," Donna smirked. "Some might even say you're glowing."

Rachel's eyes went wide, "You can't be serious…"

Donna's smile widened.

"Donna we just found out, like two weeks ago, how could you possibly have figured it out already?"

Donna shook her head laughing, "Please, you should know by now that I'd sniff out something this big as soon as you walked in."

"You're insane," Rachel deadpanned, eyes still wide. "How has the FBI not enlisted you for your services?"

"Who says they haven't?" she quipped, raising an eyebrow. "I'm so happy for you, Rach. Is Mike freaking out?"

"Totally," her friend smiled. "He's read every baby book he can get his hands on. I'm glad we'll have you guys to bombard with questions."

Donna shook her head, "God, can you believe we live in a world where Harvey is going to be the one giving Mike parenting advice?"

Rachel laughed. Before she could respond, the door to the condo opened, and in walked the matriarch of the firm.

Taking Rosie from Rachel, Donna walked over to greet Jessica, Harvey excusing himself from his conversation to move towards his former boss.

Jessica couldn't hold back a smile as she took in the sight of the three of them together.

"Only you could act like the biggest fool for 12 years just to end up getting the girl," she started, shaking her head at Harvey. "Girls," she corrected herself, smiling at Rosie curled up in Donna's arms.

Harvey rolled his eyes, but he couldn't hide the proud smile on his face.

"Thank you for coming, Jessica," he gave his mentor a big hug.

"Not a chance I would have missed seeing Harvey Specter in dad mode," she gave him a look, "This must be the girl we have to thank for that?" she smiled towards Rosie.

Harvey slipped his arm around Donna's waist, "Jessica, this is our daughter, Rosie."

Donna passed the baby to Jessica, as Harvey pulled her in closer.

"It's very nice to meet you Rosie," Jessica said as the little girl curled up on her shoulder. "You are a very lucky girl to have these two as parents," she smiled at the pair, "Even if they can be real idiots sometimes."

Donna smiled as she rested her head on Harvey's shoulder.

"Now that everyone's here, you wanna get this party started?"

As their guests gathered around the extravagant balloon wall that Donna insisted they assemble, Harvey held Rosie in one arm, and Donna's hand in the other.

"We can't thank all of you enough for being here with us today," Harvey started. "I don't think there is a single one of you who thought you'd ever be at a birthday party for my kid." Their friends laughed. "I never thought you would be either, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I've spent so much of my life focused on titles; Associate, Junior Partner, Senior Partner, Managing Partner, but I can say with 100% certainty that the best thing I'll ever be called is Dad."

"I have Rosie's biological mother to thank for making that happen. I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge how terrible it is that Heather isn't here to see her daughter turn one. She gave me the greatest gift that I could have ever received, and for that I will be forever grateful." Donna gave his hand a squeeze as he went on.

"At this point, all of you know that I've only made it this far in life because of the woman standing next to me," he smirked at Donna. "From the first day Rosie came into my life she was by my side, helping me navigate and settle in to this new normal. The love she has for our daughter is unlike anything I've ever seen; I am the luckiest man in the world to have her with me on this journey. And yes, I was an idiot for not seeing what was right in front of me for so many years."

Donna laughed, tears pooling in her eyes as she looked on at Harvey.

"Now, I didn't want to steal the show away from the birthday girl, but I figured, what better time to do this than with all of our friends and family here with us?"

Donna gave him a puzzled look, as Harvey let go of her hand.

Her breath hitched as Harvey knelt down and pulled a small box out of his pocket.

Donna froze as she watched Harvey open the box and hand it to Rosie, as he whispered, "Can you give this to mommy, sweetie? Just like we practiced."

Turning Rosie around, box in hand, he placed her on his knee. Taking Donna's hand, he looked up at her with his signature smile and brown eyes that she was sure could swallow her whole, "Donna Roberta Paulsen," his gaze locked in on hers, "Over the last 12 years you have been my secretary, my COO, my best friend, my girlfriend, my daughter's mother, and my true north. You are my home Donna; you are our home. Will you do me the honor of accepting one last promotion, and being my wife?"
