Iguneetmon is an angry looking creature with white skin, four pronged weapons in both hands, a grenade hanging down his chest, red claws prodding out of his shoes, just waiting for combat.

Gummymon squeaks in fear while Max scrambles backwards, eyes wide. "What are you?" he demands, glancing uncertainly from the weapon back to Iguneetmon. "You did all of this? Destroyed this village?"

"They disrupted my entertainment," Iguneetmon says, gritting his teeth and aiming one of the weapons towards the Blikmon that Max had been trying to free. "They were noisy and rude and never gave me a moment's peace. Something had to be done."

"Feels a little extreme, don't you think?" Max asks, still trying to put distance between himself and the maddened Digimon before him. Before he can inch any further away, Blikmon shifts and immediately Iguneetmon's attention is back on him, making Max freeze as well. "Listen, let him go, alright? He's never done anything to you, he can't even move."

Iguneetmon shakes his head, aiming his arm at Blikmon. "It'll be better for everyone," he says, before slinging his wrist, and-

"No!" Max exclaims as Blikmon deletes, data pouring everywhere. "What the fuck?" he breathes, anger and failure warring for dominance within him. "Why did you do that?"

Gummymon suddenly lunges off of his head, and Max is strangled by a sudden fear that she too will get cut down right in front of him, but no- there's a bright, blinding light, and his digivice is vibrating in his hand, and- Gummymon is growing, infused with light, and-

"Gummymon digivolve to...!" Max only gets a brief glimpse of a purple bodied creature with brown fur and a silver helmet before that glow begins again, and- "Tapirmon! Tapirmon digivolve to...!" This time, the form that appears looks like a ghost, with frayed ends and large, sharp teeth. "Bakemon!"

"A ghost?" Max mumbles to himself, stumbling back when his partner looks back at him.

"Don't worry, Max. I've got this." She sounds angry, she sounds self-assured, and it soothes Max's uncertainty, his grip on his digivice remaining steady as he pulls himself away from the wall, casting one last glance down at where Blikmon had laid before so brutally destroyed right in front of him. "You won't get away with any of this," Bakemon promises Iguneetmon, lunging forward. "Darkness Claw!"

Iguneetmon dodges, trying to swing his arms back around, but Bakemon avoids, slashing back in response, opening wide gouges through the creature's chest. He screams out in pain, desperation fueling his movements as he lunges back at Bakemon, grabbing at his own body. There's a sudden blast and Max squints through the blinding light that follows the sound, afraid that something bad's happened to Bakemon- when he realizes that no, Iguneetmon had tried, but failed, his weapons blasted to pieces around him, his body slowly deleting before them. "What happened?" he breathes.

"He set off his grenade," Bakemon says grimly. "I was able to avoid the blast, but he caught himself in the aftermath. Stupid fool, I almost feel bad for him."

Max glances around the village, back at where Blikmon had been collapsed, and shakes his head. "I do not," he says, before turning back to his partner. "Are you sure you're ok?"

Bakemon nods. "Yes, Max, I'm fine." Before Max can say anything else, Bakemon floats over to him and devolves back into the form he had seen before, Tapirmon. "Just tired."

Max nods. "Understandable," he says, holding his partner close to his chest. "Rest. I''ll figure the rest of it out from here."

As Tapirmon falls asleep, he marches over to the others. "What do we do now?"

"Search the village," Mox says with some exhaustion. "Make sure nothing was missed. Come on."

Following the man irks Max, but he's still inexperienced and bites his tongue, deciding to go along for now instead of risking something else like Blikmon happening.
