All in all, things considered, their first battle had gone well. Asuka is relieved, thinks perhaps the new teams will be able to gel together well enough after all. She hopes, anyway. Her lips part in slow surprise as she looks up to find Calumon dancing on her pillow, a small smile crossing her face as she reaches up to greet her partner. "Hello," she says thickly, sitting up and wiping at her face.

"Hello, hello!" Calumon chirps in delight, leaping into her arms with a happy laugh. "I missed you while you were asleep!"

Asuka chuckles, hoisting the little creature up into her arms. "I missed you as well," she says, squeezing Calumon. "But I am awake now, so let's begun our day, yes?"

"Yes!" she exclaims, bouncing up and down in Asuka's arms gleefully. "Let's!"

After breakfast and some travel responsibilities, Asuka finds herself outside of the arena, staring up at where Smackdown will be held later. But first, the expected check in with the Digital World. She, Dakota, Raul, Joaquin, and Escobar meet up by the laptop used as the portal. "Everyone ready?" she asks, glancing back at them.

"Yes," the others chorus back at her, digivices and partners at the ready.

"Great," she murmurs. "Here we go then. Digiport, open!"

It's always a little unsettling, the slow sensation of your bones and flesh getting altered into data so you can be reformed in a digital world, but Asuka shoulders it with the same courage she does anything, rotating her neck slowly as she appears on the other side, turning to look at her compatriots. "Alright?"

"Yes," comes the staggered answer, and she nods, turning and marching briskly towards where Luke is waiting for them.

"Hello," he greets them with a smile, stepping aside to give them space. "We have had a few alerts today, but what I need from you all today is this." He shows them the map, indicating a small village. "It's near the Village of Beginnings," he says with a frown. "Thus the Digimon involved are probably young and very confused. I need you to go there and make sure they're alright, and if not, handle the situation as best as you can. Alright?"

The group nods, exchanging glances. "Of course," Asuka says, her brows furrowed in concern as she thinks about digimon as little as Calumon- or even more so- suffering. "Let's go."

"The portal is already set to take you there," Luke informs her and she smiles thankfully at him before once more lifting her digivice.

"Digiport open!"

The air feels different as soon as they form on the other side, brisk, with a smoky twist to it. Asuka already hates this but she squares her shoulders and begins walking towards where the dot is indicated. The others follow behind her, murmuring and clearly as uncomfortable with the situation as she is.

She's about at the dot when something stops her. She's not sure what at first, but when she holds her hand up, the others halt, fall silent, and she listens carefully. It's nearby, and she follows it, her chest twisting as soft whimpers grow louder. Once she thinks it sounds like she's right on top of it, she peers down, then around. It's hard to spot through some patches of tall grass, but she eventually does see some movement, kneeling down to reach out. "It's ok," she murmurs to the trembling creature. "You're safe. I will protect you."

Cuddling the creature close, she stands back up and looks around. "Are there more of your kind? Hm?" Calumon makes a sudden noise of distress, and Asuka pauses, looking at her. "What is it?"

"This little guy is a Monimon," she explains. "They group together and never separate. If he's all alone out here, then..."

Asuka can imagine what this means, her lips pursing. "Where did you come from? Hm?" When he starts crying harder, she exhales shakily, unsure what to do. "It's ok, no, no, it's ok. We'll take care of you," she promises, rocking him back and forth.

How, she's not sure, but they'll find a way. They always do.
