Dusk
After Caesar and Geleel had made it to the front of the ape stampede, they both made sure to keep their faces firm at the road ahead.
The apes came to a halt as they were now perched on a wall that overlooked the large city…so many buildings, Geleel nor any of the apes had seen anything like this before.
Caesar was seemingly trying to survey the entire city and think of a plan.
"You free the apes from the zoo, I'll take a team to Gen-Sys, regroup in the middle of the city." Caesar signed to his human brother as the latter nodded to him.
The chimpanzee then gestured to the right to let Geleel what direction the zoo was in.
"Buck!" Geleel said the gorilla's name out loud as the latter nodded to the former and stood at attention.
Geleel then leaped off of the ledge and began leading half of the apes, Buck and Maurice among those apes, to the zoo to free the apes that were there.
The ape man was determined to fulfill this mission as he knew Caesar was leading the other half of the apes, including Rocket and Cleo to Gen-Sys; they both had missions to complete.
There was no room for failure or complacent behavior now, the revolution was almost here!
Caesar
It was now a little later in the morning, judging by the sun that was shining even brighter and hotter than before.
Caesar and the apes that were leading to the city did not falter or stop, they just continued charging forward.
When they came upon Gen-Sys, the scientists that were on their way to work immediately gasped at the sight of the ape army charging at them.
"What the hell?" One of them questioned.
"Run!" Another shouted as Caesar and his apes forced them to move out of the way swiftly.
The ape leader screeched loudly as he and his apes immediately broke through the glass doors of Gen-Sys.
The workers who were inside immediately began panicking and trying to avoid being trampled or attacked by the apes, none of them had seen a spectacle like this before.
"The lab is on the upper floor! Climb!" Caesar barked out orders as the apes followed him to the upper level.
Fortunately, when they got to the lab, all of the other scientists and workers had fled the scene.
So they simply broke the glass door to the lab down and began destroying the lab just as swiftly.
As they destroyed the lab they also took time to free the apes that were behind cages, like Geleel and Caesar told them, no ape was to be left behind.
Caesar began walking through the mayhem that his apes were causing by freeing the other apes, he was on a mission to find one ape…
When he came upon her cage and saw how scared she looked…he was still happy to have found her, Cornelia…
Caesar opened the door to her cage as she immediately took note of his presence.
Her once brown eyes were now a deep jade color; a clear sign of the ALZ-113 being administered to her.
The ape leader knew she wasn't fortunate to have learned sign language with the others since she was taken before then but…he had hoped bringing their foreheads together gave her all the information she needed.
And it did, she was grateful that Caesar came to save her, he was her hero now, but there was no time to dwell on any gratitude, Cornelia thought as they separated and exited the cage.
They came outside to notice Cleo opening a cage with a loud screech.
The lady chimp was seemingly sharing the same passion for freedom they had.
They then turned away from Cleo as they ran up to the broken down glass door.
Cleo however didn't follow yet as Caesar had not given the order for them to leave, he had to make sure every ape was accounted for.
The lab was still in chaos as all of the freed chimps were still in the process of destroying everything.
Cleo then noticed a scarred bonobo leaving his cage…she was confused as to why the ape seemed less wild than the others.
He turned his head slightly as she almost gasped, he didn't notice her staring at him due to everything else that was happening but Cleo was taken back by the fact the ape was seemingly blind in one eye…
The bonobo then sniffed the air as both him and Cleo turned to the sound of Caesar barking out an order for them to leave.
Cleo hesitated but eventually followed Caesar and the others as they ran back to the ledge of the upper floor, the bonobo however…did not follow after Caesar.
He seemingly had a mission of his own to complete.
Caesar was still unaware of Cleo's sudden interest or even the fact that the bonobo had wandered off in the opposite direction.
But the ape leader had his followers lineup along the edge as they prepared to leave Gen-Sys.
Right as they were about to leave they all stopped when they noticed Steven Jacobs…the man of the hour…enter the facility.
"What the hell?" Steven questioned under his breath as he took note of all the destroyed chairs and desks, scattered paper, and glass all over the floor.
Who or what could have done this? He thought.
Unfortunately, right as Jacobs took off his sunglasses and decided to look around.
The man swallowed the lump in his throat when he realized the large array of apes standing along the ledge…there were not even that many apes at his lab…how did they escape?
There was no time for these answers to come, Steven Jacobs was not about to be turned into a bloody paste on the floor with a fancy suit on.
So ultimately he began sprinting out of the facility right as the apes screeched and jumped down, seemingly to chase him.
The man almost slipped on the tile floors due to his dress shoes, but he made it out of the facility and the apes gave no chase, they simply broke through the window and ran off through the streets of San Francisco.
Caesar had made it clear to them as their mission was to escape to freedom, not to kill or exact revenge on humanity.
He just hoped that his brother's group was having as much success as them right now.
Geleel
Geleel had ordered his apes to stop whilst he relayed the plan to them.
The Zoo was in their sight; he could see about three enclosures with apes, one for orangutans, and one for chimps…they all had the same fence.
"Buck, you break the cages down." Geleel signed to Buck who nodded.
"Everyone else make sure not to harm any humans, we're just here to liberate the others." Geleel signed to the others as they were seemingly on board.
He then turned and nodded his head at Buck who grunted and beat against his chest before charging forward.
Buck roared loudly as he leaped out into the zoo, ignoring the many humans who gasped and screamed in shock.
"Oh my God!" One human shouted as Buck used his size to weigh the
The large gorilla then put his mass onto the fence as it was slanted down enough for every ape to leap out to freedom.
Soon Geleel, Maurice and the other chimps from the ape jail ran into the zoo loudly, the humans were still screaming in shock and terror as they ran wildly.
Geleel has caused them to be even more shocked, they already couldn't believe any of this was real, now a human was apparently leading these crazed apes? It all felt like a fever dream…
The ape man then used his unnaturally strong arms to rip one of the gate's metal pickets off and began running with it in his hand as if it was a spear.
Some of the other apes followed suit as they took the rest of the pickets as spears too.
"Let's go!" Geleel barked out an order for the apes to leave as they all followed him.
The apes from the zoo hadn't been affected by the ALZ-113 yet…so they were confused as to why they were following this strange looking human but…if he was leading them out of this forsaken zoo, they'd follow him without question.
So naturally, the entire ape army from the zoo was following Geleel through the park as he and Caesar had already planned to regroup in the middle of San Francisco.
Completely ignoring all of the loud screams from the other humans who were still running around lost and confused.
Caesar
Caesar stood at the top of a skyscraper with Rocket, Cornelia and Cleo besides him, his half of the ape army behind them.
They watched as Geleel and his side of the army ran up to the skyscraper.
The ape man climbed up the skyscraper swiftly, most of the apes followed suit.
He was happy to see that Cornelia was with them and seemingly unharmed, but it was no time to relax, they still hadn't completed the journey…the hard part had just begun.
Geleel regrouped with his brother as they greeted each other and prepared to make sure every ape was accounted for.
"This is every ape from the zoo." Geleel signed to Caesar who nodded.
Suddenly a loud array of frantic screeches captures their attention as they turn to see a chimpanzee who had fallen behind be captured in a large red net, an animal control officer was evidently the culprit behind it.
The man dragged the ape into the back of his truck as he hurriedly got into the driver's seat.
The man then prepared to put the truck in drive…only to instantly pull his hand back from the stick shift when a gate picket pierced through the truck roof and almost pierced his hand in the process.
He swallowed in fear and tried to refrain from soiling his pants.
The man then looked up to notice the ape army standing atop the apartment, naturally the fact that a human was at the center of that army caught his attention the most.
The ape man was the one who threw that first picket…perhaps a warning.
The man then panicked when the ape standing next to the ape man, Caesar, grabbed a spear from another ape.
The chimpanzee threw the spear with all his might as it easily pierced the man's hood.
He didn't even have enough time to panic as he turned to realize the back doors of his truck were ripped off.
Rocket had made his way behind the truck as he now dragged the ape out of the truck and snarled at the animal patrol officer.
The officer knew it was time to go now, he immediately shifted into drive and sped off, all the while the apes were riddling his truck with pickets.
When the truck was out of sight, Geleel hooted to get Rocket's attention as the bald ape looked up at him.
The ape man then tossed him a small wooden blade he had created years ago in San Bruno.
Rocket caught the blade and cut the net open to free the chimpanzee who was evidently relieved to not be left behind.
The female chimp was thankful for him saving her as she instinctively latched onto him.
"Let us go now." Caesar signed to Geleel who nodded.
The journey was on again, the army ran along the top of the apartments as they smashed through different windows, ignoring the shocked humans in the buildings as they ran through every building.
They finally got to the end of the buildings as Caesar and Geleel ran side by side at the front of the army.
Two sirens then caught Geleel's attention as he turned to see two police vehicles coming their way…he knew that meant trouble.
"Buck! Maurice!" He barked out their names as they halted and realized that the ape man had wanted them to stop the police officers.
Buck snagged a parking meter out of the ground with ease, Maurice then picked up a manhole cover.
The gorilla stood side by side with the Orangutan as they prepared to dispatch these police cars swiftly.
Maurice was first up as he reared back and flung the manhole cover with so much ease you would think it was a frisbee…
The police car did not get out of the way in time as the manhole cover swiftly pierced the window of the car and made them swerve into a wall with a loud crash.
Buck came next as he swung the parking meter with all his might right at the second car, the impact of the meter against the car's hood caused it to smoke out and render the vehicle immobilized.
Buck roared loudly in triumph as he and Maurice turned and began charging after the ape army again, they had completed their mission.
As they finally caught up with the army, they noticed Geleel and Caesar climb up to the top of a trolley.
They both climbed to the top and stood up behind the brothers…then came Rocket as he stood in between them.
No words were said or signed, the large ape army followed behind the 5 of them on the trolley as one thing was for certain.
The Golden gate bridge was now in their sights, this was the last obstacle they had to overcome before true freedom was achieved, and they were going to definitely make it over.
Golden Gate Bridge
The apes had come upon the bridge finally, obviously the humans that would normally be in that area had already been warned to evacuate, so there was no unnecessary screaming and confusion.
"Cleo, Cornelia." Geleel huffed as he motioned the two females over.
"Lead the other females and their young under the bridge, make sure every ape is accounted for." Geleel informed them out loud as they immediately understood.
They then hooted for all the female apes to follow them under the bridge.
The males regrouped behind Caesar who had barked out some orders.
They then immediately began running down the bridge, the main order was to not stop or hesitate, just keep pushing until they got to the Redwoods.
The apes quickly realized that there were still humans on the bridge, but they were all in their cars and evidently terrified of the ape army rushing through.
Buck evidently did not care for human property as he continuously leaped from car to car; inadvertently smashing a windshield in or two.
Many other apes did the same, Caesar and Geleel opted to run on the road on all fours.
After looking ahead to realize there was a giant police roadblock ahead, both Geleel and Caesar climbed to the top of a car with distressed expressions on their faces.
Caesar let outs a loud roar as he held his right fist in the air and stopped the ape army from running right into imminent death.
All of the apes stop at their leader's command as they await his next order.
Caesar looked behind him to see police officers were coming behind them with horses and batons in hand, all the while the humans were exiting their cars and evacuating the bridge.
The ape leader then turned forward to the roadblock up ahead, they didn't want to run into either of these problems wildly.
Caesar then thought of an idea as he turned to that scarrer bonobo from Gen-Sys.
"Go up!" Caesar signed for the ape to lead a team of ape up the bridge lines.
The bonobo has accepted Caesar as his leader…even though the chimp worked with that wretched human as some sort of right hand man…
The bonobo complied as he had accepted this mission from Caesar and began to climb up the lines with the group following after him.
"Go under!" Caesar then signed to Maurice and the other Orangutans as they all immediately understood the assignment and leaped under the bridge.
Geleel then noticed a giant orange bus on the bridge, thankfully it seemed empty.
"Gorillas with us!" Geleel then shouted as he signed for Buck to lead the gorillas from the zoo and follow him and Caesar, a few other chimps with them as well.
They charged through the cars again as the horseriding policemen still chased after them.
"Push em' north!" The police leader shouted as they caught up to the apes.
Caesar gasped in shock as he heard a loud shriek of pain from one of his apes.
Then two more shrieks followed as Caesar turned to notice the police had killed three of his apes with their batons…three of his apes that were supposed to join him in freedom.
The ape leader growled to himself as he charged at one of the policemen.
The policeman screamed out in shock when Caesar leaped up and tackled him firmly off of the horse.
Caesar roared in anger, not particularly at the police, but just the fact three apes had died.
Geleel had turned as well, quickly noticing another police horse was charging at Caesar, the ape man immediately sprung into action.
He just got his little brother back…the only family he had left, he was NOT about to lose him here.
Geleel leaped up with the use of a car roof and shoulder pressed the officer to the floor, effectively saving Caesar who gained wide eyes; he wasn't even aware of what was about to happen.
"Thank you." Caesar swiftly signed to Geleel, but they could not continue their conversation as they turned to see Buck charging by them.
The robust gorilla charged at the police leader and his horse, neither side slowing down.
Buck used his large powerful hand to grab the frantic horse by its neck.
The police leader began to slam his baton down on Buck's head, the gorilla roared in anger and used his free hand to pull the man off of the horse as the latter immediately began to panic.
Buck roared once more as he raised both of his large forearms above his head, prepared to slam them down and kill the man.
"NO!" Caesar shouted as Buck effectively paused in his tracks.
Caesar still didn't want to have any unnecessary human casualties, despite the fact they had just killed three apes.
Buck listened to his leader as he picked the officer up by his collar and roared loudly into his face before running off to join Caesar and Geleel who had begun running forward with the army in tow, the police horsemen were all dealt with.
They still had to deal with the roadblock up ahead though, but Geleel still had a good plan in mind.
A sudden gunshot rang through the air as they all stopped in their tracks.
The screech that followed let them know an ape from the scarred bonobo's group was shot off of the top of the bridge.
'That sounded like Wolfie…' Geleel mentally stated as he grit his teeth…that's four dead apes now.
Unfortunately, there was a large cloud of fog that obscured their vision, they couldn't confirm who was actually hit, but all they knew was one of their own was shot.
"Ge…leel." Caesar spoke out loud with a rough voice as Geleel turned to him.
"What is your plan?" Caesar questioned Geleel as the ape man garnered a determined face and looked at the orange bus in front of them.
"Buck, tell the gorillas to flip that bus and use it to shield us from the guns, we are going to use this as a distraction for the apes above and Maurice's team below to ambush the humans, we are going to be free, they will not stop us." Geleel declared to Buck who understood him perfectly due to his exposure to the 113.
The gorilla roared loudly as he ordered his gorilla team to flip the bus over.
The powerful gorillas grunted with effort but they eventually got the bus flipped over and began to push it forward.
As the bus sparked and skidded, the police roadblock took note of it.
"Safeties off! Fire!" A police officer yelled as the other officers immediately began to fire rounds at the bus.
Fortunately for the gorillas behind that bus, the bullets were not powerful enough to go through the bus and hit them.
After they'd gotten the bus to a close enough distance, the gorillas finally stopped.
"Hold your fire! Hold your fire!" The policeman from before shouted as the gunshots ceased.
It was quiet…way too quiet for their liking.
Two horse neighs then drew their attention as they both realized police horses were running towards them on opposite sides of the rose.
They had no riders…that was strange.
Unfortunately for the police, when the horses were close enough, they were shocked to see two beings rise up with loud roars.
It was Geleel and Caesar on their respective horses, the police were too shocked to even react in time.
Before they could shoot the two males, the scarred Bonobo and his team dropped down from the bridge lines, revealing the fact they were hiding in the fog.
They immediately began attacking the police and disarming them with ease.
The police on the other side weren't safe either, Maurice and his Orangutans emerged from the bottom of the bridge and attacked them; beating them with their forearms and destroying their guns.
Rocket and a group of chimpanzees stood on top of the bus the gorillas had used as the bald chimp hooted and screeched loudly, telling them to attack.
The apes immediately began to overpower and overwhelm the police, they were too unpredictable, strong, and intelligent for the officers to fight back.
Geleel and Caesar stood on top of a police cruiser as they watched the apes cause the humans to begin scrambling.
The scarred Bonobo and a few other apes attacked a police van as the driver tried to shoot at them, only for Buck to reach through the back window and yank him out of the van, swiftly tossing him over the bridge with a cry of fear escaping the man.
Buck then roared loudly as he beat against his chest proudly.
This was too much for the officers now, they immediately began retreating when they got the chance too.
The apes then began to celebrate after realizing they were victorious in the bout…they had done it…
Rocket hooted loudly as he slammed two police helmets together, tossing one off the bridge.
The other apes hooted loudly as well, beating against their chest and the floor beneath them in celebration.
Caesar and Geleel couldn't help but smile at this…
Geleel especially couldn't believe it, just a few days ago, he had no hope of ever being free again…yet here came Caesar, rekindling his spark, and holding true to a promise, their freedom was but 300 yards away from them right now.
Never in a million years would the ape man have expected to be here right now, gorillas, orangutans, bonobos and chimpanzees all together as one…just apes, being free.
The ape man couldn't find any words to describe the moment so he just decided to let out a triumphant yell into the skies above.
Caesar was inspired by his brother's celebratory cry, they deserved this moment, they worked hard and lost four apes for this cause.
So naturally Caesar joined his brother and let out his own battle cry.
"Caesar!" An all too familiar voice drew Caesar out of his moment of triumph as he immediately turned to see none other than…Will Rodman, his father calling out to him.
Caesar's eyes almost popped out of his head in shock, but he immediately made eye contact with his human father.
Geleel had noticed Will's presence too as it shocked him almost as much as it did Caesar, how did Will even get here?
Before either of three could make a move, the sound of a helicopter blade's whirring drew their attention.
Caesar and Geleel immediately snapped their heads towards the chopper, they noticed Steven Jacobs was on it as a police officer piloted it.
But what immediately caused them to panic was the third human seated behind some sort of large machine gun…no.
"Hide!" Geleel shouted to all of the other apes as the officer began firing at them, the loud gun riddling the road and the army with bullets.
Geleel and Caesar separated and tried to find cover from the bullets, many of the apes tried to do the same, but unfortunately some of them were struck with the powerful bullets, effectively killing them.
Caesar had taken cover instead of a police car as he grunted in distress and tried to hide from the gunshots.
Geleel was hiding behind the same van as he noticed that the police were seemingly focusing their fire on him and Caesar…they must've realized that the apes were following both of them.
The shooter slowly shifted the gun towards the van Geleel was seated behind as the ape man clutched his head in fear of being struck with a bullet, he never could forget how dangerous they were.
Fortunately for him, this had given Caesar enough time to brandish some shackles from a police cruiser as the chimpanzee wounded it up as if it were a bola.
The shooter couldn't react in time as the metal chains came flying at him, effectively knocking him and Jacobs down and stopping the gunfire.
Unfortunately Caesar could not celebrate as the pilot of the helicopter brandished a black glock and began to shoot at Caesar.
Caesar shouted in anguish as he shielded his face and tried to back away from the gunshots.
Geleel swiftly appeared in front of Caesar as the former disregarded any fear of bullets in favor of protecting his little brother.
"No!" Caesar shouted as he didn't want any of the bullets to connect with Geleel's frame.
Before anything else can be done, they heard Buck roar loudly as the gorilla swiftly threw them both to the ground.
He then charged forward irately and used the bridge rails to leap at the helicopter.
As Buck flew through the air, the pilot shot him 5 times in the chest, the gorilla ignored the pain as he began smashing the pilot's head in.
He continued roaring and grunting loudly as the helicopter began spiraling out of control.
Eventually the chopper spun into the bridge lines as the collision resulted in a big fiery explosion.
A second explosion ensued as both Geleel and Caesar were shaken by the loudness of it.
They ignored the shakiness as they immediately ran towards the remains of the helicopter, Buck had put himself on the line for them they couldn't leave him in that heap.
The two brothers immediately noticed Buck's body slumped over outside of the cockpit of the helicopter, he was breathing but barely.
Both of them grabbed the large gorilla by the arms and swiftly dragged him out of the helicopter.
They laid him down on his back as they both gave the bullet holes in his chest wary expressions.
Buck's hands shook profusely due to the shock…he knew he was about to die.
"Thank……you…." Buck huffed out to Geleel and Caesar as they held his shaking body in their arms.
Then the shaking stopped…it just stopped, Buck's eyes rolled back and his body felt limped.
"No!" Geleel shouted in anguish as he breathed heavily…Buck had been a captive for longer than he was…he just gained freedom to lose it that quick.
Caesar sighed to himself before closing Buck's eyes out of respect…the gorilla was more than just their powerhouse, he had a heart, and he was loyal, he deserved to rest in peace.
"Help…me…" A strained voice rasped out as both males immediately realized who it was.
They turned slowly as they stood up and stalked over to the helicopter.
Of course they realized it to be none other than Steven Jacobs, how fitting, the man who looked down on Geleel all those years ago, was pleading like a lost animal for mercy.
"Take my hand…please, save me." Jacobs rasped out again as he reached out to them.
Caesar looked down at him in disgust, the man that was behind his mother's death, his family's separation…he didn't deserve their mercy.
"Plea-woah!" Jacobs exclaimed as the strap he was holding onto snapped.
He screamed repeatedly in terror as he held on for dear life.
"Please…" He pleaded again.
Geleel turned to his brother, before turning completely and walking off, he wasn't going to kill Jacobs, but he wasn't going to save him either, the universe would decide his fate.
Caesar stayed there a bit longer as Jacobs continued to plead and beg for his help, maybe the chimp had a bit more naivety than the human he berated long ago.
No…Caesar too turned his back to Jacobs.
The chimp then nodded to the scarred bonobo that was standing behind him.
The bonobo walked up to Jacobs as the latter immediately gasped in fear when he saw him.
"Not…you." Jacobs stated in fear, he knew this ape would not save him.
"No!" Jacobs shouted as the bonobo placed his foot on the helicopter's landing gear.
"Noooo!" Jacobs shouted out as the helicopter was easily pushed off the bridge.
"You stupid monkey!" Jacobs shrieked out as the helicopter fell to icy waters below with a thud, Jacobs was no more.
The bonobo smiled sinisterly at his deed…revenge was oh so sweet.
Geleel stood atop a police van as he watched the other apes charging towards the Redwoods…like before, freedom was right there, no more obstacles.
He smiled to himself before he turned to see Caesar climb up beside him.
"Ready?" Caesar signed to Geleel as they both watched the female apes and their young climb from under the bridge and begin joining the march towards the Redwoods.
Geleel nodded with a grunt as he leaped off of the truck, Caesar immediately following after the revolution was completed.
They swiftly made it to the Redwoods and began to ascend the trees and swing through them.
As the apes continued their journey, none of them noticed a police cruiser following them.
The cruiser parked at the entrance of the park and out came none other than Will Rodman.
"Caesar!" He shouted as he ran after the ape army, he seemingly had no fear of being caught by a straggling ape, he just wanted to get to his son.
"Caesar!" Will shouted as he came to a halt.
"Caes-ack!" Will exclaimed as he was struck in the face by a powerful hand; immediately dropping him to the forest floor.
He looked to realize the scarred Bonobo staring down at him with a scowl…he knew this ape from the lab…Koba was his name if he remembered correctly.
Will shielded his face as Koba hissed into his face threateningly.
Right as Koba was about to attack him, Caesar dropped down from the trees and shoved Koba to the ground roughly.
Koba immediately got up with a grunt of annoyance as he immediately ran up to Caesar with an irate glare.
Caesar glared at Koba who seemingly challenged him…the Bonobo didn't like how his supposed new leader was seemingly fond of humans.
Speaking of which, the dark-skinned human from the bridge leapt down next to Caesar, Koba was still lost and confused as to why he was trusted by the other apes…especially this chimpanzee before him.
Caesar then lets out a powerful grunt, effectively telling Koba to back off, the latter begrudgingly turning and running off.
The ape leader then sighed before turning to Will with a softened gaze.
He then offered his adoptive father his hand.
Will took his hand as Caesar and Geleel both stood side by side in front of him; he maintained eye contact with the chimpanzee.
"Caesar…" He began to speak.
"I'm sorry, this is all my fault, but this has to stop, this isn't the way…you know what they're capable of." Will continued as Geleel and Caesar began to overthink…he was right, even though they had achieved freedom…the humans would never let them live in peace so easily, they would have to fight to keep their freedom.
Both males looked at Will once more, it was a fight they were more than willing to take on, for their sake, and for the sake of the apes.
"Caesar, Geleel please…just come, if you come home I'll protect you both." Will pleaded to both of them this time, Geleel was taken back by this…it was a heartfelt gesture from the former scientist, the ape man was shocked to say the least.
Unfortunately, when he and his brother took note of the apes they had freed walking up to the three of them…they realized where home already was.
Going back to the city with Will would be a crime against these apes, they worked so hard, lost so much, just to be free, they could not go home.
Caesar turned back to Will as he gently brought his hand to Will's head.
The chimp then brought Will into a firm embrace…mentally steeling himself for what he was about to say.
"We…are…home." Caesar spoke softly to Will before they separated, the latter's eyes widened in shock, it was the first time he had ever heard Caesar speak out loud.
Caesar lets out a smile as Will eventually got over his stupor and returned it, he understood now…Caesar was home.
"You're home…okay…go." Will gave permission to finally walk off.
The chimp gave his father one last glance before walking off to greet the other apes…they were all waiting to welcome they're leaders back.
Will was confused when instead of walking after Caesar, Geleel stayed standing in front of him.
He knew the ape man only saw a home with the apes, so there was no way he was contemplating going back to the city with him.
Geleel then slowly reached his hand out to Will, the latter was taken back by it, he still thought the ape man had resented him to this point.
Will took Geleel's hand in a handshake, ironically the former had taught the latter that this was a human sign of human respect all those years ago.
"Thank you, Will Rodman, for taking care of my brother for all these years…and raising him into the ape he is today." Will wasn't sure how many more surprises he could take…
"You're welcome…and, I'm sorry about your mother." Will apologized to Geleel as the latter smiled in thanks for the gesture.
"It is alright, at least you made up for it by keeping your promise." Geleel said before finally walking off; Will was confused about that, he didn't remember the promise.
But he did promise Geleel all those years back…that he would one day get him freed, he was the one that raised Caesar, and Caesar sparked the ape revolution and granted him freedom…so in a way Will did make true on his promise.
Will watched as the ape man bumped Caesar with his shoulder playfully before they began walking forward.
The chorus of apes watched them as they walked through.
Rocket, Cornelia, Cleo, Maurice, all of them were so grateful for the two brothers and what they had done for the apes…they were their saviors.
All of the apes bowed in respect as they smiled and brushed their hands against their heads respectfully.
Some apes were confused as to why a human was with them, running, and fighting for their freedom, but regardless, they bowed to him in gratitude.
They then stopped at a very large Redwood tree before looking up at the top.
Caesar drew in a deep breath before turning to Will.
Will gave him a nod of reassurance, that was all Caesar needed as he turned and bounded towards the tree, immediately climbing it.
Geleel followed soon after, climbing the same tree.
Rocket, Maurice, Cleo and Cornelia began climbing their own respective trees.
Caesar and Geleel got to the top of the tree relatively swiftly as they stood on their respective branches.
The chimpanzee looked down to the ground where Will was, he was no longer there…but Caesar wasn't sad, he knew he would miss him but they couldn't stay together anymore…apes and humans could not coexist right now…not without society ripping itself apart.
Caesar then looked to the Golden Gate bridge, the smoke cloud that formed above the bridge was no doubt a result of their revolution…
Where there was smoke…there would sure to be fire, Caesar knew that smoke was also a testament to the battle that was surely coming their way soon…they had to be ready.
Geleel was looking at the city as well, for all the same reasons as Caesar was…but there was one extra reason he was staring at the city.
He couldn't get his mind off of one thing… no, one person, and even though he still couldn't stand that person at the moment…Geleel couldn't help but wonder if the person was even alive at this point.
The ape man could not fully enjoy this revolution with these thoughts plaguing his mind…but he was free; the apes were free.
San Diego
Inside a small home, a woman could be seen folding some clothes and placing them on a bed.
She was shocked when she felt a pair of small hands touch her legs.
The blonde haired woman snapped her head to see a small curly haired girl, no more than 3 years old staring up at her with big hazel colored eyes.
"Gabrielle, you can't do that to mommy okay?" The woman questioned as she fully turned around…it was Emilia…she had been living alone with her daughter for three entire years now.
"I'm scared mama." The now dubbed Gabrielle complained to her mother.
"Aww, it's okay, here, let's go to the kitchen and I'll make your favorite snack, how's that?" Emilia questioned her daughter who did a complete 180.
"Yay!" She cheered with a big toothy grin.
Emilia chuckled to herself before she brought her daughter over to the living room.
She placed her down on the couch gently.
Emilia then grabbed the remote to turn Tarzan on for her daughter, the girl loved that movie to no end, perhaps that was the girl's father trying to speak to her.
Right as the blonde woman clicked the TV on, she was appalled to see an urgent news report on.
"Tonight on the 9 O'Clock news! The shocking reports in San Francisco are true, an army of apes attacked the city and then destroyed the Golden Gate Bridge. These deranged primates had a 6 hour standoff with law enforcement, but unfortunately they overwhelmed the police after a while…but perhaps the most insane fact of this entire story was the fact a human was seemingly leading these apes alongside a chimpanzee…" Emilia's breath immediately hitched as her heart seized up when a blurry image of the ape man appeared on the screen…she could barely see him in the picture but she was not going to mistake the man she fell in love with…it was him.
Chapter Fin
Author's Note-And with that, the film Rise of the planet of the Apes is finished. There will be more chapters of this story as I am doing all of the movies in one book. The next few chapters won't jump right into Dawn. I want to do some exigence before Dawn.
