Chapter 3: Stormy Detour: Spicy Isle Beckons
The Hanahime cut through the choppy waters of the East Blue, her sails billowing in the aftermath of an unexpected tempest. Captain Naruto Uzumaki stood at the helm, his crystalline blue eyes scanning the horizon. The storm had thrown them off course, leaving them adrift in the vast expanse of the sea.
On deck, the crew bustled with activity. Hanabi and Nojiko huddled over a nautical map, their faces illuminated by a swinging lantern. Nearby, Shinobu tended to Gin, her gentle hands belying the intensity of her experimental poison removal therapy.
Naruto's mind wandered back to the storm. 'That wasn't just any squall,' he mused, a smirk playing on his lips. 'It set my haki haywire. Someone incredibly powerful must have been on that island we passed.' His grip tightened on the wheel. 'Looks like I've still got a way to go.'
"Yo, Captain-nii!" Hanabi's voice cut through his reverie.
Naruto turned, his attention snapping back to the present. "Hmm?"
Nojiko spoke up, her gaze directed skyward. "We need to see the stars to verify our position. My quarters are a mess after that storm, so stargazing is our only option until dawn breaks."
A mischievous glint appeared in Naruto's eyes. "You want me to clear the sky?" he asked, already in motion.
With a fluid grace that belied his strength, Naruto leapt upward, his powerful legs propelling him towards the crow's nest. He flipped mid-air, landing with perfect balance atop the lookout's roof.
"You're in for a treat," Hanabi grinned at Nojiko. "On a full moon, he can do this with a single roar."
Naruto's arm transformed into pure crystal, twisting into a massive drill-like cone that cast a shadow over the entire crew. Flashes of crimson electricity danced across its surface.
"Oh, you both don't know that's the Captain's electro," Shinobu explained, her voice tinged with concern. "He hasn't mastered it yet, has he, Hanabi?"
"Nope!" Hanabi's excitement was palpable.
With a mighty leap, Naruto launched himself skyward, the force destabilizing the ship. At the apex of his flight, he hurled the crystal construct into the clouds. The sky erupted in a dazzling display of crimson light, followed by an implosion that sent shockwaves across the sea, clearing the clouds in an instant.
As the crescent moon revealed itself, Naruto landed back on deck, his right arm already regenerating in crystalline form.
"I've seen some things over the last few days, but this takes the cake," Gin muttered, his eyes wide with awe.
Nojiko, speechless, could only nod in agreement.
"His control has grown from when we were children."
"He still blows up himself sometimes its great." Hanabi chimed in as she giggled.
"Ignoring crazy, your captain got some power behind him." Gin spoke once again just as Naruto landed back on the ship.
As the captain straightned himself up he locked eyes with Nojiko. "Can I clear the skies?" Naruto huffed. "What kind of captain could I be if I couldn't do that."
With the sky cleared, the crew quickly determined their position. They found themselves closer to the mysterious Spicy Isles than their original destination of Logue Town.
"The Spicy Isles are closer, which is good given our dwindling supplies," Shinobu noted, her eyes darting to Gin. "However, Gin needs a real doctor soon, with proper medicine."
Gin straightened, his face pale but determined. "Bah, I'll be fine, woman," he growled, though his voice lacked its usual bite.
Naruto, sensing the tension, stepped in with his trademark grin. "It'll be fine. I've got a good feeling about Gin," he declared, clapping the man on the shoulder. His blue eyes swept over the crew, radiating confidence. "Alright, we have our heading. Let's get the Hanahime ready and make way for the Isles of Spice!"
"It's the Spicy Isles," Hanabi corrected, rolling her eyes.
"Don't care," Naruto sang back.
The Hanahime cut through the azure waters of the East Blue, her sails billowing in the warm breeze. As land appeared on the horizon, a palpable excitement rippled through the crew. The promise of solid ground and fresh provisions after days at sea had everyone in high spirits.
Captain Naruto Uzumaki stood at the helm; his crystalline blue eyes fixed on the approaching shoreline. A grin spread across his whiskered face as he mused aloud, "The Isles of Spice... I wonder if we'll find ourselves a chef here or an actual doctor for Gin?"
Shinobu, ever the organized first mate, gathered the crew on deck. Her violet eyes gleamed with determination as she issued orders. "Listen up, everyone. As soon as we dock, we're on a mission."
She turned to Hanabi and Gin. "Hanabi, you're with Gin. We need ammunition and explosives for our journey. Your expertise in explosives combined with Gin's experience as a man-at-arms should make you two a perfect team."
Naruto nodded approvingly, recalling his academy days. 'And Hanabi can keep an eye on Gin's insides with her Byakugan,' he thought, appreciating the subtle strategy in Shinobu's pairings.
"Nojiko," Shinobu continued, "you're with me. We'll handle navigation supplies, food, and herbs."
Nojiko raised an eyebrow. "What about the Captain?"
Before Shinobu could respond, Hanabi chimed in with a mischievous glint in her pale eyes. "If you put Naruto in charge of food, we'll end up with nothing but ramen."
Naruto shot his sister-figure a playful middle finger, eliciting chuckles from the crew.
"I'll be scouting the island for any potential adventures," Naruto declared, puffing out his chest.
Gin, still recuperating but sharp as ever, quipped, "So he's going to the tavern to get drunk and laid."
"For shame, Captain," Hanabi added, fanning the flames of teasing.
Naruto clutched his heart in mock pain. "Gah! My crew has no faith in me!"
Suddenly, Gin's voice cut through the laughter. "Fuck you, you haven't asked me yet. Don't assume I'm on your crew just because I like you guys."
A moment of stunned silence fell over the deck before everyone, except Gin, erupted into laughter.
"The Man-Demon likes us," Naruto grinned, turning Gin's words back on him.
Hanabi dramatically placed a hand on her forehead. "Oh no, whatever shall we do?"
After a few more jabs, Gin stomped off below deck to prepare for the supply run, followed by a still-giggling Hanabi and Nojiko.
Left alone on deck, Shinobu turned to her captain, her tone growing serious. "Make sure you're ready, Naruto-kun. We're heading towards the Grand Line after this stop."
Naruto's eyes gleamed with unwavering confidence. "I know, Shinobu. Don't worry. We can take on the whole world if we choose to."
Shinobu shook her head, a small smile playing on her lips. "If you say so, Captain." With that, she made her way back to her quarters, leaving Naruto alone with his thoughts and the approaching adventure.
As the Isles of Spice loomed larger on the horizon, Naruto's grip on the helm tightened. The air grew thick with the scent of exotic spices, a tantalizing aroma that masked an undercurrent of tension.
"Here we go," Naruto spoke calmly, his blue eyes scanning the approaching docks. The Hanahime glided smoothly into port, her hull cutting through the ocean. An hour later, the crew had dispersed into the seaport town. Naruto's senses were on high alert as he navigated the bustling streets. A festival was in full swing, but something felt off. The laughter seemed hollow; the smiles strained.
'It's like they don't hold any joy in their tone,' Naruto frowned, his gaze sweeping past colourful food stalls and vibrant decorations that failed to hide the unease in people's eyes.
Deciding to investigate further, Naruto set his sights on the largest tavern in view. 'Hopefully, I can grab some details about this place,' he thought. 'Nojiko should be fine with Shinobu, and Gin's experience combined with Hanabi's eyes should keep them out of trouble.'
As he approached the tavern, Naruto chuckled to himself. "I guess Gin was right, I am going to a bar." His hand brushed against the crystal pendant at his neck, a habit he'd developed when sensing potential danger.
Just then, a flash of movement caught his eye. In the distance, a girl with spiky moss-coloured hair stomped towards the same tavern, her face set in a determined scowl. Something about her fierce demeanour piqued Naruto's interest.
'Looks like things might get interesting,' Naruto thought, a grin spreading across his face as he pushed open the tavern door, the sounds of forced merriment and clinking glasses spilling out onto the street.
As Naruto pushed open the weathered tavern door, the cacophony of forced merriment and clinking glasses abruptly ceased. The air, thick with the scent of stale ale and exotic spices, seemed to freeze as every pair of eyes in the establishment turned to stare at the newcomer.
Naruto, his crystal pendant glinting in the dim light, offered an awkward wave. "Yo," he said, his voice carrying in the sudden silence. The floorboards creaked under his feet as he made his way to the bar, acutely aware of the lingering gazes following his every move.
"Ohayo, barman," Naruto greeted, his tone deliberately casual. He signalled for three mugs of booze and some ramen, then turned his back to the bar, leaning against it with feigned nonchalance. Slowly, the locals returned to their drinks and hushed conversations, though their eyes kept darting back to the blonde stranger.
The bartender, a grizzled man with arms like tree trunks, set down three mugs with a thud. "Drinks are here, but we don't serve that other stuff," he grunted.
Naruto's head whipped around; blue eyes wide with disbelief. "You don't sell ramen?" The words came out as a mix of shock and indignation.
"Don't care for the stuff myself," the bartender shrugged, wiping a glass with a grimy rag.
"But it's the food of the gods!" Naruto protested, his voice rising. A few patrons chuckled, amused by the stranger's passion for noodles.
The bartender scoffed, a smirk playing on his weathered face. "Celestial Dragons actually eat that slop."
The temperature in the room seemed to drop as Naruto's eyes narrowed dangerously. "What did you just say?" His hand clenched into fist, a faint crimson sparks began slowly dancing across his skins surface.
"I said it's slop. Over-salted slop," the bartender repeated, his tone challenging.
A low growl escaped Naruto's throat, the air around him beginning to crackle with tension. But before he could retort, the entrance doors were kicked off their hinges with a resounding crash that shook dust from the rafters.
The bar fell silent once more, a collective intake of breath audible in the sudden stillness. The bartender dropped his head in exasperation, muttering under his breath.
Naruto whirled around, his hand still on his pendant, to see a silhouetted figure in the doorway. Backlit by the afternoon sun, the newcomer's presence seemed to fill the entire entrance.
"Menchi, goddamn it!" the bartender groaned, his earlier bravado evaporating. "We have doors for a reason. Why do you kick them off every time you come in here?"
"Because old man..." A feminine voice called out, its owner stepping into the light. Her eyes, fierce and determined, locked onto Naruto's. "BECAUSE I CAN!" She laughed, the sound a mix of challenge and joy that sent shivers down the spines of the other patrons.
As she entered, Naruto's eyes widened, taking in every detail. Her green hair, styled into five distinctive topknots, reminded him of a childhood friend. Her face radiated youthful arrogance, mirroring Naruto's own confident demeanour. She wore short shorts and gladiator sandals like Hanabi's, paired with a nearly transparent mesh shirt over a bikini top. A holster-like belt adorned with several pairs of gleaming knives completed her ensemble.
The atmosphere in the bar shifted palpably. Locals seemed to shrink back, while others leaned forward in anticipation, as if watching the opening moves of a high-stakes game. Naruto found himself intrigued by this new arrival, sensing a kindred spirit in her dramatic entrance.
"Well, well," Menchi's eyes locked onto Naruto, a predatory grin spreading across her face. "What do we have here? A new face brave enough to argue about food in my territory?"
Naruto's own grin matched hers, his earlier anger forgotten in the face of this new challenge. "Uzumaki Naruto, future Pirate King, ramen connoisseur, and all-round delinquent," he declared, puffing out his chest. "And you must be the local food expert?"
"Expert?" Menchi scoffed, her hand resting on one of her knives. The metal gleamed dangerously in the tavern's dim light. "I'm the goddamn Gourmet Queen of the East Blue. And I don't take kindly to amateurs defending subpar cuisine in my presence.
"The bartender groaned again, reaching for a bottle of his strongest liquor. As he poured himself a generous glass, he muttered, "I'm getting too old for this shit." Something told him he'd need it before this encounter was over, and the night was still young.
The bustling marketplace of the Spicy Isles was a riot of colours and scents, but Hanabi and Gin had a specific mission in mind. They weaved through the crowd, their eyes scanning for weaponry amidst the spice stalls and exotic goods.
"There," Gin pointed, his keen eyes spotting a shop with an array of cannons displayed outside. As they approached, Hanabi activated her Byakugan, her pale eyes scanning the merchandise with supernatural precision.
"Remember," Gin muttered, "we need something that packs a punch but won't slow down the Hanahime."
Hanabi nodded, her gaze fixed on a sleek, medium-sized cannon. "What about that one? My eyes can see the quality of the metal. It's top-notch."
The shopkeeper, a burly man with a thick beard, approached them. "Ah, discerning customers! That's a fine piece you're looking at. Fires a 24-pound shot with deadly accuracy."
Gin ran his hand along the cannon's barrel, nodding appreciatively. "Not bad. What's your price?"
As they haggled, Hanabi's attention was drawn to a crate of peculiar-looking cannonballs. "What are these?" she asked, picking one up.
The shopkeeper grinned. "Ah, those are special. Exploding shots, perfect for taking out enemy masts or creating chaos on deck."
Hanabi and Gin exchanged a look, a mischievous glint in their eyes. "We'll take a crate," Gin declared.
As they continued shopping, Hanabi couldn't help but notice Gin's expertise. "You really know your stuff," she commented.
Gin's face darkened momentarily. "Yeah, well, when you've been in as many fights as I have, you learn what works."
Hanabi sensed his discomfort and quickly changed the subject. "Look, smoke bombs! Naruto would love these for dramatic exits."
Gin chuckled, his mood lightening. "Your captain does have a flair for the dramatic, doesn't he?"
"Puhlease the whole crew is dramatic even Shinobu, and just you watch your going to fall in line with our madness pretty quickly."
As they made their final selections and arranged for delivery to the Hanahime, Hanabi couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. With these new weapons, they were one step closer to being ready for the Grand Line.
"Come on," she said, tugging on Gin's sleeve. "Let's go find some food. I'm starving after all this shopping!"
Gin nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. Despite his initial reservations, he was starting to feel like part of the crew. And for the first time in a long while, he was looking forward to what the future might bring.
As the duo left the spotted a few shady looking guys enter the arms shop after they exited.
'Something is wrong?' Gin thought as he didn't like the feel he got from those guys. "They screamed mercenaries."
"They certainly look grubby enough." Hanabi said as she glanced up from the delivery ticket they had got for their purchases.
"Shouldn't we let your captain know?"
"Oh, we will something shady is going on in this island, you saw how afraid that arms dealer was before he greeted us." Hanabi said before pausing and looking directly at Gin. "Soon to be your captain too, you know."
At another point in the bustling marketplace of the Spicy Isles was an even larger sensory overload, with vibrant colours and exotic aromas filling the air. Shinobu and Nojiko weaved through the crowd, their eyes scanning for the supplies they needed for their journey.
"Alright," Shinobu said, pulling out a list. "We need navigation supplies, food, and herbs. Let's start with the navigation gear."
Nojiko nodded, her eyes lighting up at the mention of navigation tools. They made their way to a shop specializing in maritime equipment.
"Look at this sextant," Nojiko exclaimed, picking up a beautifully crafted instrument. "It's much more precise than the one I have."
Shinobu smiled at her enthusiasm. "If it'll help us navigate better, it's worth the investment."
As they browsed, Shinobu's keen eye spotted a section dedicated to medicinal herbs. "Nojiko, come look at these," she called out.
Nojiko joined her, examining the various dried plants and powders. "These could be useful for your treatments," she mused.
Shinobu nodded, carefully selecting a variety of herbs. "They'll be perfect for replenishing my supplies. And who knows what we might encounter on our journey."
As they continued shopping, Nojiko couldn't help but notice Shinobu's expertise in both navigation and medicine. "You seem to know a lot about different fields," she commented.
"I'm not actually a doctor but ever since I was a little girl I found concocting poisons more up my ally." The first mate said before her face softened. "When you're part of a small crew, you have to be versatile. Plus, I've always been interested in learning new things."
Their conversation was interrupted by a commotion near a food stall. A group of rough-looking men were harassing a vendor.
"Should we do something?" Nojiko asked, her hand instinctively reaching for her weapon.
Shinobu's eyes narrowed. "Let's observe for now. We don't want to cause trouble unnecessarily."
As they watched, Shinobu noticed something odd about the men's behaviour. "Those aren't just thugs," she whispered to Nojiko. "They move like they're trained. We might be dealing with something bigger here."
Nojiko nodded, her expression serious. "We should report this to Naruto when we get back to the ship."
With their shopping complete and new information to share, Shinobu and Nojiko made their way back to the Hanahime, both feeling that their adventure on the Spicy Isles was about to take an unexpected turn.
"DRINK! DRINK! DRINK!"
The raucous chants echoed through the tavern, a far cry from the tense silence that had greeted Naruto upon his arrival. The air was thick with the smell of spilled ale and the electric energy of competition. The rookie pirate and the self-proclaimed Gourmet Queen were locked in an epic drinking contest, their earlier argument about ramen long forgotten in the haze of alcohol and bravado.
Surrounding them, a crowd had gathered, their faces flushed with excitement and inebriation. Bets were being placed in hushed tones, money changing hands as the two competitors showed no signs of slowing down.
The bartender, his earlier annoyance replaced by a grudging admiration, had unceremoniously dumped two large barrels of his strongest ale before the young challengers. Now on their second barrel each, Naruto and Menchi were still going strong, their determination evident in their unwavering gazes and steady hands.
Menchi, her green topknots slightly dishevelled, tipped her barrel back for one final gulp. With a thunderous slam, she brought the empty container down on the bar, the sound reverberating through the room. She let out a primal roar that morphed into an impressive belch, drawing cheers from her supporters.
"Ha! Looks like I win," Menchi slurred, swaying slightly as she stood, her eyes gleaming with triumph.
Not to be outdone, Naruto drained the last of his barrel and slammed it down with equal force. The bar creaked ominously under the impact. He rose to his feet, his crystal pendant glinting in the tavern's dim light, and got right in Menchi's face. "We can go again if you want," he challenged, his breath heavy with the scent of ale.
The air crackled with tension as the two rivals stared each other down, neither willing to back off. But before Menchi could respond, the atmosphere in the bar shifted dramatically. A hush fell over the crowd, the sudden silence more deafening than the previous cheers.
The door swung open, admitting two figures that seemed to suck all the joy out of the room. Hushed whispers rippled through the tavern like a cold wind.
"It's him..."
"And his boss..."
The bartender, his face draining of colour, rushed out from behind the bar. Gone was the gruff demeanour, replaced by naked panic. "What can I do for you, Boss Thalgo?" he stammered, his eyes darting nervously between the newcomers. "May I ask what brings you and your enforcer here?
"Even through his drunken haze, Naruto's instincts kicked in at the word 'enforcer'. He focused on the second man standing behind the apparent boss, his blue eyes widening slightly as he took in the imposing figure.
The enforcer was a giant of a man, easily 11 feet tall, his head nearly brushing the tavern's low ceiling. He was dressed in an immaculate blue and white uniform that seemed at odds with the grimy surroundings. A modified rifle, its barrel gleaming with an otherworldly sheen, was cradled in his massive hands. But what caught Naruto's attention most was the monocle perched on the man's right eye, giving him an air of refined menace.
'He is tall, isn't he,' Naruto thought, his alcohol-addled mind trying to process the potential threat. Despite the fog of inebriation, he could feel the hairs on the back of his neck standing up. Something told him that the night's festivities were about to take a dangerous turn. This addition to the scene effectively heightens the tension and introduces new dynamics between the characters. Here's an analysis and enhancement of the provided text:
Boss Thalgo, a stark contrast to his towering enforcer, was a short, rotund man with a face that seemed permanently set in a smug sneer. His expensive silk clothes and numerous gold rings spoke of wealth and power. As he surveyed the room, his eyes landed on Naruto and Menchi, a look of disdain crossing his features as he focused on the girl.
"I see you still allow gutter trash in with the rest of my patrons," Thalgo announced, his voice dripping with contempt as he stared down the girl who matched his scowl with equal intensity.
Meanwhile, Naruto's gaze locked with the enforcers. Despite the alcohol clouding his senses, Naruto could feel the strength emanating from the tall man. It was clear they were both a cut above the rest in terms of strength. The air crackled with unspoken challenge as they sized each other up.
'He this is the strongest person I've felt since Gabban left,' Naruto thought.
The tension in the room was palpable, thick enough to cut with a knife. Suddenly, Menchi broke the standoff. With a defiant glare at Thalgo, she bumped Naruto's shoulder and gracefully vaulted over the bar, disappearing through the rear exit.
"Good, now that the gutter trash has gone," Thalgo sneered, his voice laced with satisfaction. "Pietro, my normal booth. I have business to discuss."
The enforcer, Van Augur, cast one last searching look at where Naruto had been standing, only to find the whiskered youth had vanished. His monocled eye narrowed slightly before he turned to follow his current employer.
As the duo made their way to the booth, hushed whispers rippled through the tavern. Naruto, having slipped away in the moment of distraction, pressed himself against the wall near the rear exit. His mind, despite the haze of alcohol, raced with questions. Who was this Boss Thalgo? Why did he have such disdain for Menchi? And most importantly, what was the deal with that enforcer?
Naruto's hand unconsciously reached for his scalp as he ran his hands through his hair. Something told him that his adventure on the Spicy Isles was about to take an unexpected and potentially dangerous turn. With a deep breath, he pushed open the rear door, intent on finding Menchi and getting some answers.
The night air hit him like a sobering slap, clearing some of the alcohol-induced fog from his mind. As he stepped into the alley behind the tavern, Naruto couldn't shake the feeling that he had just stumbled into something much bigger than a simple supply run. The real challenge, it seemed, was just beginning.
Naruto stumbled down an alley he had ghosted that bar to fast and now he was lightheaded. 'Come on Naruto it's just bit of booze shake it off,' the pirate self-coached in his mind as he reached out with his observation haki and discovered all his crew were back on aboard and his fellow drinking buddy wasn't too far ahead of him.
"Jackpot," Naruto whispered to himself as he looked at the tree house his fellow teen currently lives in. 'Now you are too drunk to actively do anything to help, so head back to the ship.'
And with that last thought a crystal mirror formed in front of Naruto, the reflection showed the deck of his ship and the young pirate just stepped through arriving back at his ship, before the mirror shattered into a sparkly dust.
Back at the tree house Menchi looked down from her hiding place as she just saw a man walk into a magic crystal and disappear.
With Naruto as he stepped of his mirror was that while h create the original mirror, the reflection showed the deck of the Hanahime it was a showing from a birds eye view and in his drunken haze he didn't notice so as he stepped out of the crystal mirror he fell face first into the decking causing his crew to look over in concern.
Naruto just rolled onto his back and as he looked up at the night sky. "Something is weird about this island."
"Your telling us," Nojiko spoke up before telling the tale of what they witnessed when they were out.
"She, right we saw something similar when were getting a new cannon and smoke bombs." Hanabi jumped in while Gin was nodding along with the youngest crew mates event of things.
The captains eyes widened at smoke bombs "Well we may have an ally on this rock already Ill go see what their deal is tomorrow morning."
"Why not now?" Nojiko asked.
"Because Blue I'm as drunk as a skunk, at I'm going to pass out in the 3, 2, 1."
The crew could only hear light snores coming from the blonde pirate.
The sun had long risen over Logue Town and was now beginning to set, casting long shadows across the marine base. Vice Admiral Momonga strode purposefully through the corridors, his face set in a grim expression. He burst into Captain Smoker's office without knocking.
"Report, Captain Smoker," he barked, his eyes scanning the room.
Smoker, still seething from Luffy's escape, turned to face his superior. "Sir, Straw Hat Luffy managed to escape. There was... unexpected interference."
Momonga's eyebrow raised slightly. "Interference?"
"A green-haired swordsman and... a bolt of lightning," Smoker admitted, his frustration evident.
The Vice Admiral's frown deepened. "I see." 'The higher ups only sent to this backwards sea to investigate potential revolutionary leads in the area,' the Vice Admiral thought before addressing his subordinate. "Well, we have bigger problems now." He pulled out two wanted posters from his coat. "The higher-ups have just issued these.
"Smoker's eyes widened as he looked at the posters. The first showed a grinning young man in a straw hat:
WANTED
DEAD OR ALIVE
"Straw Hat" Monkey D. Luffy
฿30,000,000
"Thirty million for a rookie?" Smoker muttered.
"That's not all," Momonga said, revealing the second poster.
Smoker's cigars nearly fell from his mouth. "Another one? What did this one do?"
Momonga's voice was grave. "Uzumaki assaulted several marines, including two captains. He also defeated the pirate El Drago and sank his ship to the depths by himself. Along with stories of crystal-based abilities the higher ups believe another logia user has been found."
"Another, logia like me?" Smoker questioned.
"Potentially, and we know from the likes of other logia wielders the destruction they can cause. The higher-ups are taking this seriously."
"Two rookies with such high bounties... This is unprecedented," Smoker growled.
"Indeed," Momonga agreed. "The East Blue isn't as peaceful as we thought. We need to step up our game, Smoker. These rookies are heading for the Grand Line, and we can't let them run wild.
"Smoker nodded, a determined glint in his eyes. "I'll catch them both, sir. You can count on it."
"See that you do," Momonga said, turning to leave. "The balance of power is shifting. We can't afford to let these young pirates gain any more momentum.
"As the Vice Admiral left, Smoker looked back at the wanted posters. Two young faces grinned back at him, blissfully unaware of the storm they had just unleashed.
"Monkey D. Luffy... Uzumaki Naruto..." Smoker muttered. "You brats have no idea what you're in for."
