(Author note: had to take a small break due to the Elden ring DLC coming out when I was writing this chapter, I had to make some plans, update some of my wheels, as well as doing a run though the DLC so I could experience the stuff but my plans shall roll on.)
"What the hell, your traits are straight up broken and then you can just cast scarlet Aeonia semi-freely."
Reading the same board Millicent looks up to misko who is rightly freaking out.
"What do you mean broken, I would guess this Scarlet Valkyrie trait is scary since aeonian butterflies carry the scarlet rot but to me the other trait isn't really that powerful since were not in my past world and those ailments aren't here."
He is silent for a second then laughs out loud to the island view which is starting to glow as the sun is starting to set.
"I would guess you don't fully get it but just as a hint Scarlet Valkyrie while powerful isn't the greater of the two."
Hearing the hint Millicent doesn't seem to get the answer but still spouts a face of confusion. At her still confusion Misko continues. "Ok then since you don't get it I'll explain, using the system if I could I can give you equipment which uses those Aliments safely, Madness is the most crippling aliment in your world and something I don't want to touch since any outward use of madness also inflicts the user with madness."
Hearing His words Millicent is bemused at the notion, by she voices her opinion, "if Madness is so dangerous why would you want to use it in this world I would assume since you would say its worse than Scarlet rot it would better to keep it in the past world."
At that Misko comes to a realization and scowls greatly which is visible to her, 'oh yeah, madness is connected to the three fingers, who's connected to an outer being, would I essentially be opening the door for madness to blossom like Shabriri did in the lands between.'
[Answer: its not a 0% chance, as you have suspected the outer gods are conceptual in beings, knowing of their existence gives them power but the system can limit their connection to the host but the more the Host would use non elemental aliments their connection to the Zelda world would strengthen allowing them to pry the door open to reach within.]
Seeing the response from the system he bolts in shock but then he catches a hint hidden within the answer, 'non elemental aliments, so there are more conceptual beings in play, the non-elemental aliments are Madness, Sleep, Scarlet rot and Deathblight, Fuck I know each of the entities behind them and only one is completely safe while another is iffy.'
Turning away from Milicent he comes to another realization, 'System if Millicent summons her butterflies would that help one of the conceptual beings to enter the world?"
[Answer: No, Due to the effect of the trait [Dignity Personified] the Conceptual being behind Scarlet rot cannot form a connection though [(S++)Milicent, The Greatest Blooming Flower] into the world due to the Aeonian Butterflies being an extension of her Will, but this effect doesn't cover any other usage of Scarlet rot, So the usage of [Scarlet Aeonia] Would allow them to find purchase within this world.]
Turning to Milicent again with a weak smile "ok never mind, I could give you good equipment, but it would bite us in the ass later down the line, but I know of some things which would be useful and don't mess with us later."
At that misko sees he has wasted a lot of time on the cliff with Millicent and looks at Sasami's camp from the hill, 'how did that camp never get invaded when I can see it from here, I'll never know but if I remember attacking that cave would require us to swim to it, I'll need a rest before that'
"ok then I think I've explained the gravity of the situation so if you want I can stay within this world or within the system since I'm not sure how the guy at the camp I'm sleeping at would react to finding another person on the camp but I don't know if you can climb cliff faces with your prosthesis, wait, I just remembered something you should be able to do."
At this Millicent who looked a bit dejected at him pointing out she can't even climb down a cliff looks at him with anticipation.
"I remember during the duel with Malenia her second form could summon wings to fly out of aeonian butterflies, I'm not fully sure since it was implied to be made from the butterflies, but it looked to be made of a mycelium like material, maybe you can do that as well."
Hearing the application for the butterflies she wills some to come forth from her hand and orders them to condense into a solid matter, weirdly the Aeonian Butterflies act like a gas before liquefying into a red goo then into a dark amber coloured material which rests upon her hand.
The entire display causes Misko so feel shocked and scared since he remembers the liquid, it's like the water from the lake of rot under liurnia but his shock is interrupted as he hears the sound of a cannon going off in the distance.
Turning towards the sound both he and Millicent sees in the distant west waters a Pirate Ship, there is no other way to describe it other than a pirate ship with a skull and bone flag and everything but also in view is another object of interest, within their sight there is a small black object rapidly flying towards the island.
It only takes a second for Misko to realize it's a cannonball, but he can tell its not coming towards him, but he sees as it strikes at Sesami's camp in a loud bang.
Seeing the situation is dire he knows there's little time to waste he turns to Millicent nods to her before starting to climb down the cliff to go and safe Sesami if he is in trouble.
The climb is quick, and he gets down to the base of the hill quickly but as he gets there, he hears another shot of the cannon from the west knowing its intended target it just spires Misko to go faster to save Sesami who is his only ticket off the island.
He runs though the trees and undergrowth of the island and gets to the camp in record time, there he sees the camp is just a mess of splinters and burnt cloth, the main camp tent is just tatters and the boat Sesami arrived on is destroyed but he doesn't find Sesami among the wreckage.
Eyeing the Pirate ship, he sees it sails to the south side of the island and gets out of view of the beach, once he's out of view he approaches the camp's centre to try and find Sesami. He doesn't see him, but he hears the sound of some whimpering coming from the remains of the tent.
Going over there he finds Sesami who's been bundled in cloth like a newborn, said cloth seems to have some burn marks and some puncture marks, following the puncture marks misko sees Sesami bleeding onto the cloth dying it red from some Wooden shrapnel wounds, the scene isn't pretty and Sesami won't come out of it without some scars but he's alive, now its Misko's job to keep him alive.
First, he checks him for any head injuries, he doesn't find any besides some scratches, next he does down and checks his chest, besides some scratches and minor splinters, the only really thing that worries Misko is the large spike of wood in his back waist the size of his hand, luckily said spike hasn't pierced straight though but he can tell it hurts like he was kicked by a mule since even while unconscious Sesami is still twitching fiercely.
Knowing he doesn't have all the time in the world and after checking his limbs Misko doesn't find anything life threatening besides the spike. Take a breath of relief he quickly steels himself to save Sesami.
Knowing if Sesami loses enough blood he would go into shock he knows he can't allow the major wound to stay open, sighing he looks at Sesami to see if he's semi-awake, he can tell he's fully out probably knocked out from the blasts, improvising Misko grabs some of the cloth from the tent and gags Sesami's mouth before turning his attention to the spike fully.
The spike is large enough that He could grasp it with a hand and mentally counting down he counts 3 2 1. Before Pulling the Spike out of his gut!
Sesami is Shocked awake at the pain of the removal but doesn't bite his tongue in pain due to the gag but his guttural yells are only quelled by the sound of the Gag but are loud enough to draw Misko's attention.
"Welcome back Sesami, your one lucky guy just so you know, but quiet down will you, the next part will hurt but it's the only way to stop the excessive bleeding."
Sesami just give Misko a look of utter shock and rage, but his thoughts are cut short as he feels a searing feeling against his gut as Misko casts Surge O' Flame to Cauterise the wound, Sesami Flails in pain but Misko using his other hand holds him down to try and cause as little damage as possible.
After a few seconds the wound is cauterised, he might have lost some brownie points with him but at least he's still alive to be angry, now Misko just hopes his intestine weren't punctured, he can't really cure the diseases that would follow such an injury.
Sesami with a groan of pain looks at Misko "W-What happened, I-I o-only remember my tent getting blown up, g-going to put it out with the cooking pot, turning around to get more water, th-then waking up here."
Surprised that he can speak in that state Misko looks around at the camp for that magic pot to see it's in the sand behind the tent with a very visible dent on its underside from deflecting a projectile, laughing grimly he says, "well do you want the good news or the bad news or the really bad news."
Coughing in pain Sesami spits out "I didn't lose my Mustache did I ?"
Squinting his eyes at the question that came out of no where Misko responds, "no your Mustache is fine but that's not the good news, the good news is that we found those monster pirates."
Sesami seems interested by that, but Misko's next sentence causes him a revelation, "the Bad news is that they found your camp first and blew it up."
Closing his eyes in sheer dread he starts to put the pieces together, "do I even have to ask what the very bad news is."
Laughing again grimly Misko responds "No, but I'll tell you regardless that the very bad news is that your boat is now a shipwreck and the monsters who are aware of our presence now hold the only boat on the island."
Hearing the situation Sesami just lays against the cloth beneath him in silence, before he gains a bout of energy and yells at the sea "FFFUUUUCCCKKK!"
Misko for all his will power shares the same sentiment.
At this point Misko hears a rustling coming from the treeline, reacting to the sound he raises his weapon but as he looks, he just sees the scarlet haired Milicent approaching the camp.
As he sees Millicent, he realises he never de-summoned her, so he essentially left her alone on the cliff, feeling slightly embarrassed her nods for her to approach.
Coming closer she is silent looking at the wreckage and at the man swaddled in cloth, at her appearance Sesami who finished his wailing notices her and his face gains a curious squint before asking.
"I don't want to be rude but who is she?"
Taking a second to think of something to counter the question Misko didn't realise he would have needed to explain until he remembered were on a deserted island.
"ohh, yeah, well I went to take down the last camp and while there I found her unconscious being held captive, She's used to live near me so I know her but I suspect she was also swept here like I was."
He keeps his squint, but he becomes distracted as a bout of pain washes though him.
Misko stands up and goes towards the cooking pot, He knows the food in this world is the equivalent of healing magic since he tasted it himself he knows if he cooks something for Sesami it would help him recover, Grabbing the cooking pot he finds it weights a lot less than he thought but shrugging he goes to the fire pit and places the pot back on the rack that was knocked over in the blast.
Milicent just watches Misko do his task but is just confused with his actions, but she just watches over Sesami.
Using Surge O' Flame to light the pit again he then turns to the tent, feeling lucky he goes to its remains and hopes to find some ingredients.
He quickly finds some blue ugly fish, a white onion and brown jar of oil which smells like sap as well as the bowls from last night, shrugging at only knowing the basics of cooking and how cooking in the Zelda world was kind of weird he takes them and puts them in the pot.
He swears he hears that damn jingle that happens when link cooks and in a flash of steam an herby smelling seafood stew is made in the pot. 'I hate how that worked.'
Sighing, he then comes to a realization and looks at Milicent, 'does Milicent need to eat? I'm not sure if spirit ashes can eat in the first place since their meant to be ghosts but the system said the companion spirits were different.'
His mental quandary is cut short as he hears two sets of stomach rumblings coming from behind him, turning he sees Sesami sitting up in less pain drooling while Milicent has cheeks as scarlet as her hair from embarrassment, 'that answers that.'
Plating up the two bowls he hands one to Milicent and another to Sesami, Sesami takes his and inhales it, but Millicent is more restrained mainly because of her prosthetic but she consumes it quickly as well.
Returning to the pot Misko just eats his portion straight from the pot, it might be a bit hotter, but he doesn't mind.
As he eats his food he looks up at the sky and starts pondering about things, and thinks about what he's going to do tomorrow, regardless he eats his food and gets ready to sleep.
He looks over at Sesami who's snoring in his cloth blanket with a full belly and looks at Millicent, she's sitting down on the sand with her legs to the side.
"Well today has been hectic, anyway I'm not sure how your situation works but do you need sleep?"
[Answer: Spirit summons of any kind does not require sleep, but they can be inflicted with sleep, Spirit ashes below the quality of [A] have a set duration for their usage and cooldown before being able to be used again. [Milicent, the greatest of blooms (S++)] has no such restriction.]
'That answers that. 'Addressing Millicent misko asks her, "it turns out you don't need sleep, but I don't want to force you to stay out while we sleep, your options would be really staying out or returning, so your choice."
Milicent seems to contemplate the decision before shrugging and saying, "I'll stay out here, the scenery is enchanting and everything being in a non-afflicted state feels so different that it's like a new experience, just sleep I'm fine."
Smiling at the answer misko goes to sleep and renters the system.
