Chapter 10
Izuku looked at the clock. 10 am. The letter should be here any moment now.
"Izuku?"
She did good last time— but that was a narrow escape.
"Izuku?"
She wants to do great this time.
"Izuku? Stop tapping your foot like that."
Oh. "Sorry,"
She was sitting on the small chair that mom had fondly bought for Eri/Izuku and tapping the floor with her foot—enhanced with One For All… "Sorry…just a little nervous…"
"It's all right, dear," Inko reassured, not even bothering to take a cucumber piece off her eyes.
"i am sure Izuku-nee-chan will pass!" Eri said enthustically as she wiggled her legs, lying beside Inko with the similar face mask and cucumber pieces on her eyes.
"You did your best, Izuku. No matter what happens, I'm proud of you," Inko said reassuringly. "Just relax and join us," She said hypnotically. "You will forget all the pain, tension and get rid of anxiety."
Izuku shivered. "N-no thank you." She decided to change the subject. "The first thing I am going to do is call dad after I get my result!"
Inko removed her cucumber pieces from her eyes and immediately sat up. She looked at Izuku with concern. Eri also sat up and looked at her with confusion in her eyes.
"What?" Izuku gulped, confused.
"Oh, honey…"
Just then, the doorbell rang, interrupting their conversation. Izuku jumped from her seat, her heart pounding with anticipation. She dashed to the door and opened it to find a small box on the doorstep.
"It's here!" she squealed, picking up the box and rushing back to the living room.
Izuku placed the box on the dining table and quickly unboxed it, her hands moving with a speed that seemed almost impossible to match. Inside, she found a small device with a red button.
Taking a deep breath, she pressed the button. In an instant, a holographic projection of All Might's muscular form appeared, filling the room with his booming voice.
"I AM HERE!"
Eri and Inko both gasped in surprise and excitement.
"Congratulations, young Midoriya!" All Might's projection announced with a wide smile. "You have passed the UA entrance exam with flying colors. Your display of heroism and quick thinking during the practical exam was truly inspiring."
Izuku's eyes filled with tears of joy as she listened to All Might's words. She could hardly believe that her dream was coming true.
"Not only did you score an incredible 170 villain points," All Might continued, "but your act of saving others, especially Uraraka Ochaco, earned you an additional 89 rescue points, demonstrating the true spirit of a hero."
Izuku could barely contain her excitement. "Mom, did you hear that? 170 villain points and 89 rescue points!"
Inko hugged her tightly, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I'm so proud of you, Izuku. You've worked so hard for this."
"You have earned total 259 points—the highest ever to have recorded in the history of UA! "
The projection concluded with All Might's signature pose. "Remember, young Midoriya, this is just the beginning. Plus Ultra!" He grinned. "Welcome, UA is your hero academia!"
As the hologram faded, Eri, Izuku and Inko sat down to let the news sink in. The excitement and pride in the room were palpable.
"You passed?" Eri asked excitedly.
Izuku scooped her up and spun her around. "I'm going to UA, Eri! I'm going to be a hero!"
Eri's eyes sparkled with admiration. "You're the best, Izuku-nee-chan! I knew you could do it!"
Izuku woke up very early on the first day of high school, her excitement making it impossible to sleep in. She quickly changed into her workout clothes and headed outside for her morning routine, pushing herself through her exercises with renewed vigor. After her workout, she went back inside, took a refreshing shower, and headed to her room to get dressed.
As she stood in front of her closet, she froze. Hanging there was her UA school uniform, complete with a skirt. Despite wearing skirts in middle school, the thought of donning one again felt odd and uncomfortable. She was still getting used to her new form and the expectations that came with it.
Just then, her mother entered the room with a knowing smirk on her face. "Good morning, Izuku. Ready for your first day at UA?"
Izuku turned to her mother, biting her lip. "Mom, I… I don't know if I can wear this."
Inko chuckled softly and walked over, placing a reassuring hand on her daughter's shoulder. "You look beautiful, Izuku. And remember, it's just a uniform. You're still the same strong, courageous person inside."
Izuku sighed, looking at the uniform again. "I know, it's just… it feels strange."
Inko nodded understandingly. "I understand, but this is part of your journey. Embrace it. Besides, you look adorable in a skirt."
Izuku blushed, but Inko's words gave her the confidence boost she needed. She slipped on the skirt, then the shirt, and began buttoning it up. Inko helped her with the tie, and soon she had the blazer on as well.
"There you go," Inko said, stepping back to admire her daughter. "You look perfect."
Izuku looked at herself in the mirror. She did feel a bit awkward, but she also felt a sense of pride. This was her first step toward becoming the hero she always dreamed of being.
"Thanks, Mom," she said, hugging her mother tightly.
Just then, a sleepy-eyed Eri shuffled into the room, rubbing her eyes. When she saw her older sister in the new school uniform, her face lit up with excitement. "Izuku-nee-chan, you look like a princess!"
Izuku blushed, smiling down at her little sister. "Thank you, Eri."
Eri's eyes sparkled with a sudden idea. "Can you do a skirt spin like a princess, please?"
Izuku hesitated for a moment, feeling a bit self-conscious. But the eager and innocent look on Eri's face was impossible to resist. "Alright, just for you."
She took a step back and did a graceful twirl, the skirt flaring out around her. Eri clapped her hands in delight, her face beaming with joy. "Yay! You really are a princess, Izuku-nee-chan!"
Izuku laughed, feeling a warm happiness spread through her. "Anything for my little sister."
Inko watched the scene with a tender smile. "You two are so sweet together."
Eri hugged Izuku, looking at her with adoration. "Good luck at school, Izuku-nee-chan. You're going to be the best hero ever!"
Izuku's heart swelled with love and determination. "Thanks, Eri. I'll do my best."
"Now go out there and show them what you're made of," Inko said with a smile.
"Thanks mom!"
Izuku walked to the bus stop, her heart fluttering with anticipation. The crisp morning air was refreshing, and she couldn't help but feel a mix of nerves and excitement about starting her first day at UA High School.
When the bus arrived, she stepped on board, her small frame barely visible among the crowd of commuters. She found a seat near the window and sat down, clutching her bag tightly.
As the bus filled up, she noticed several people glancing her way with curiosity. She overheard a few whispered conversations.
"Isn't she a bit young to be in high school?" one woman murmured to her friend.
"Maybe she's a prodigy," another person speculated, eyeing her with interest.
Izuku felt a blush creep up her cheeks. She knew she looked younger than her age, especially in the UA uniform.
A middle-aged man sitting across from her leaned forward, peering at her curiously. "Excuse me, young lady. Are you heading to UA High School?"
Izuku nodded shyly. "Yes, sir. Today is my first day."
The man's eyes widened in surprise. "UA High School, huh? You must be quite talented to get in at such a young age. What's your Quirk?"
Izuku hesitated for a moment, then decided to give a vague answer. "It's... a bit complicated. But I'm really excited to start."
The man smiled warmly. "Well, good luck to you. UA is a great school for heroes. I'm sure you'll do amazing things."
"Thank you," Izuku replied, feeling a bit more at ease. The encouragement from a stranger helped calm her nerves.
As the bus approached UA High School, Izuku's excitement grew. She could see the towering buildings of the prestigious institution coming into view. The bus came to a stop, and she joined the stream of students disembarking.
Stepping off the bus, she took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment. This was it. The start of her journey to becoming a hero. She straightened her blazer, adjusted her tie, and made her way toward the entrance.
Other students, most of them older and taller, walked past her, some giving her curious glances. She could hear snippets of conversations as they speculated about her presence.
"Is she really a student here?"
"She looks so young!"
"I heard UA accepts students with exceptional potential, no matter their age."
Izuku's heart raced, but she kept her head held high. She reminded herself of all the training she had undergone with All Might, and the encouragement from her family. She belonged here, no matter what anyone thought.
As she stepped through the gates of UA High School, she felt a surge of determination. The campus was bustling with activity, students chatting excitedly and heading to their respective classes. Izuku took a moment to take it all in, feeling a sense of awe and pride.
This was her chance to make a difference, to show everyone what she was capable of, to save everyone and fulfill her goals. she started walking toward the main building, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. She was going to make the most of this opportunity and prove that she had what it took to be a hero.
Izuku took a deep breath as she stood before the humongous doors of Class 1-A. With a determined push, she opened them wide and stepped inside. Instantly, the chatter, talking, and gossip ceased. Every eye in the room turned to her, and she felt the weight of their gazes. Her heart pounded, but she held her head high, reminding herself of why she was here.
As she walked further into the room, she noticed a scene unfolding at the front. Iida Tenya, with his rigid posture and serious expression, was in the middle of a heated lecture. He was directing his words at none other than Bakugou Katsuki, who was lounging back in his chair, legs propped up on the desk, a scowl on his face.
"You are disrespecting our classmates and the people who made this table by putting your feet on it!" Iida proclaimed, his voice filled with indignation.
Bakugou rolled his eyes, clearly unimpressed. "Oh, shut it, Four-Eyes. I'll do whatever I damn well please."
Izuku's entrance had momentarily been overshadowed by the confrontation, but as she stood there, the attention of the class gradually returned to her. Whispers started to circulate.
"That's Midoriya Izuku! She scored the top—259 points!"
"259? That's insane!"
"No wonder she's so young; she's a prodigy!"
Bakugou's scowl deepened as he heard the whispers. He turned his glare towards Izuku, his eyes narrowing. "Deku," he spat, "how the hell did you score higher than me? 259 points? That's bullshit."
Izuku felt a wave of nerves but steadied herself. "It's just the result, Kacchan," she replied softly. "Everyone did their best."
Before Bakugou could retort, a familiar face appeared with a big smile. "Midoriya-san, thank you so much for saving me during the exam! I didn't get a chance to thank you properly."
Izuku turned to see Ochako Uraraka, her eyes sparkling with gratitude. "Uraraka-san, I'm just glad you're okay. That's all that matters."
Ochako nodded fervently. "Still, you were incredible out there. I was stuck, and then you came flying in like a hero! I hope we can be good friends and help each other out!"
Izuku felt warmth in her chest at Ochako's genuine friendliness. "I'd like that a lot, Uraraka-san."
"Call me Ochako," she insisted, grinning.
"Alright, Ochako," Izuku replied, returning the smile.
The other girls began to gather around her, introducing themselves with friendly smiles. Mina Ashido, Tsuyu Asui, and Kyoka Jiro, Momo all greeted her warmly.
"I'm Ashido Mina, but you can call me Mina!" the pink-haired girl said enthusiastically.
"I'm Asui Tsuyu, but just call me Tsu," said the frog-like girl with a soft croak.
"Jiro Kyoka," the girl with earphone jacks for earlobes, introduced herself coolly.
As Izuku settled into her seat, a cheerful voice piped up from her left. "Hi there! I'm Hagakure Tooru!" Izuku turned to see... well, nobody, but she knew better. The empty uniform waving at her was a clear sign.
"Oh, hi, Hagakure-san," Izuku replied with a smile. "Nice to meet you."
Tooru's gloves clapped together enthusiastically. "You're amazing, Midoriya-san! I heard you scored the highest in the entrance exam. 259 points, wow! You must be super strong!"
Izuku blushed a bit, scratching the back of her neck. "I just did my best. I'm really looking forward to learning with everyone."
"We're lucky to have you!" Tooru said brightly. "If you ever need anything, just ask. I'm always around... literally!"
A tall, elegant girl approached, her posture exuding confidence and grace. "Hello, Midoriya-san. My name is Yaoyorozu Momo. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Izuku stood and bowed slightly, feeling a bit formal in Momo's presence. "Nice to meet you too, Yaoyorozu-san. I've heard you were a recommended student. You must be incredible."
Momo waved a hand modestly. "Thank you, but your performance was truly exceptional. 259 points is no small feat. I look forward to learning alongside you. If you ever need assistance with studies or anything else, please feel free to ask."
Izuku smiled gratefully. "Thank you, Yaoyorozu-san. I'll definitely take you up on that offer."
"Please, call me Momo," she said warmly.
Izuku nodded. "Alright, Momo."
Just as the introductions were going smoothly, Mineta Minoru sauntered over with a lecherous grin. "Hey, ladies, mind if I join this little party?"
Instantly, the atmosphere grew tense. The girls all took a subtle step back, clearly uncomfortable. Jiro, not one to mince words, glared at Mineta. "Why don't you go find somewhere else to be, Mineta?"
Mina added with a forced smile, "Yeah, we were kind of in the middle of something."
Izuku watched the exchange, feeling a mix of amusement and discomfort. Mineta pouted but reluctantly slinked away, muttering under his breath about how unfair life was.
With Mineta gone, the tension lifted, and the girls continued to chat with Izuku, making her feel more at ease. Despite the initial awkwardness and Bakugou's hostility, she felt a growing sense of belonging. These were her classmates, her future comrades in the journey to becoming heroes.
As the students were introducing themselves to Izuku, a sudden rustling sound interrupted their conversation. A figure emerged from what looked like a large, caterpillar-like sleeping bag, unzipping it with an air of lethargy.
"Are you here to make friends or to become heroes?" The man in the sleeping bag asked, his voice flat and unimpressed. The students jumped in surprise, clearly not having noticed his presence.
"Sensei!" Iida exclaimed, snapping to attention. "We didn't realize you were here!"
Aizawa Shota, their homeroom teacher, sighed heavily. "It took you all five seconds to settle down. That's already a disappointment," he said, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "If you're here to make friends, you can leave right now."
Aizawa's eyes fell on Izuku, and he tossed a uniform in her direction. "Midoriya, this is a specialised uniform for you. Everyone else, head to the locker room and change. Meet at the testing grounds in five minutes."
As the students began to move, Ochako hesitated and raised her hand. "Um, Sensei, what about the introduction ceremony? The welcome ceremony for newcomers?"
Aizawa's expression didn't change, but there was a hint of a smirk in his eyes. "This is the world of heroes. There are always bitter moments. One must always be ready for disappointments. Now, go get changed."
The students exchanged uneasy glances but hurried to follow his instructions. Izuku clutched her specialised uniform and quickly made her way to the designated changing area.
In the girls' changing room, the atmosphere was filled with chatter and excitement as the students eagerly changed into their training uniforms. However, in one corner, standing with her face to the wall, was Izuku. Despite having gone through this process countless times as a boy, now, as a girl, she found herself overwhelmed by shyness and uncertainty.
The other girls, busy with their own preparations, noticed Izuku's peculiar behavior.
"Is she okay?" Mina whispered to Tsuyu, glancing at Izuku curiously.
"Maybe she's just really shy," Tsuyu replied, her voice thoughtful.
Kyoka nodded in agreement. "Give her some space. She'll change when she's ready."
Respecting her privacy, the girls continued changing into their uniforms, chatting about their excitement for the upcoming training and their nerves about their first day at UA.
Ochako, always kind-hearted, looked over at Izuku with a concerned expression but decided not to intrude. She figured that whatever was going on, Izuku would come around in her own time.
Once everyone else had changed and left the room, Izuku finally let out a sigh of relief. She quickly changed into her specialized uniform, feeling a mix of gratitude for the privacy and determination to not let her shyness hinder her progress.
Stepping out of the changing room, she joined her classmates, who were already gathering at the testing grounds. She felt a bit more confident in her specialised uniform, knowing that it was designed to support her unique abilities.
Aizawa was waiting for them, his expression as unreadable as ever. "I hope you're all ready. This will be your first real test at UA High School. Let's see if you have what it takes to be heroes."
As Aizawa handed Izuku the ball, she realized it was too big for her palms to hold comfortably. With a resigned sigh, she closed her eyes and focused, channeling the power of Rewind For All through her body. Enough to make her taller, not crazer. In an instant, her muscles bulked up, and she began to grow taller, her specialized uniform stretching and adjusting to fit her new size perfectly. When she opened her eyes, she stood as tall as Ochako, a teenage girl— not a 5 year old little girl, her classmates staring at her in astonishment.
"What... what just happened?" Mina whispered, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"The cute girl just turned into a hot one!"
"Shut it, extra!" Bakugou yelled. 'Deku! Explain yourself!"
Izuku shrugged nonchalantly, trying to brush off the attention. "Uh, my quirk lets me do weird stuff," she replied vaguely, not wanting to delve into the complexities of Rewind For All just yet.
Bakugou, his usual scowl deepening, seemed on the verge of exploding with anger, but for some reason, he remained silent, shooting Izuku a glare that could melt steel.
Aizawa cleared his throat, bringing the attention back to the task at hand. "Alright, Midoriya, you scored top in the entrance exam, let's see what you've got. How far could you throw the ball in middle school?"
Izuku hesitated for a moment before replying, "I could throw it about 30 meters without using my powers."
Aizawa nodded, his gaze intense. "Use your powers. Show us what you're capable of. Just don't step out of the circle."
Taking a deep breath, Izuku gripped the ball tightly and activated One For All: Full Cowling at 100%. Instantly, the air around her crackled with jade energy as she unleashed her full power. With a mighty throw, she launched the ball forward, breaking the sound barrier with a deafening boom. The sheer force of her throw sent shockwaves rippling through the air, causing everyone, including Aizawa, to take a step back in awe. The ground was shattered like spiderweb.
Aizawa looked at the machine that was responsible for calculating the distance. It can locate the ball anywhere in the universe— yet, it displayed... a huge question mark?
"Midoriya, it looks like your throw has exceeded the speed of light and gone beyond infinity..."
Everyone was already left dumbfounded at the sheer amount of strength that was displayed— the resullt was astonishing too. Even Bakugou was more confused than angry.
Izuku herself was confused as she was looking at her hand with wide eyes.
She had thrown it faster than the speed of light, showcasing the truly extraordinary power of One For All enhanced exponentially by Rewind.
Izuku observed that she had performed a remarkable feat of physics by converting the ball's entire mass into pure energy, effectively using a process reminiscent of reversing entropy. According to Einstein's theory of relativity, mass and energy are interchangeable, as expressed in the equation E=mc(to the power)2. This equation indicates that even a small amount of mass can be converted into a vast amount of energy.
She transformed the ball's mass with perfect precision, turning every bit of its matter into energy. She must have subconsciously used Rewind in this process. This process released an enormous amount of energy instantaneously. The initial velocity of the ball, already propelled to extreme speeds, surpassed the velocity of the fastest jet planes, which reach speeds of around Mach 7, approximately 8,700 km/h or 5440 mph.
However, the complete mass-to-energy conversion resulted in an exponential increase in velocity, far beyond the limitations of conventional physics. Such an immense release of energy propelled the ball at speeds exceeding the speed of light, approximately 299,792 kilometers per second or 186,282 miles per second. According to special relativity, as objects approach the speed of light, their mass effectively becomes infinite, and they require infinite energy to continue accelerating, thus making it impossible for them to reach or exceed light speed under normal circumstances.
Yet, in this extraordinary transformation, the ball did indeed surpass light speed, causing it to break the constraints of their three-dimensional space. This phenomenon made the ball disappear from their dimension, essentially slipping into another realm of existence or becoming part of a different spacetime continuum.
Come to think of it, she came back in time when she got the power Rewind, didn't she?
AMAZING...
Essentially, Rewind For All can bend space-time and reality itself. It is a natural contradiction to physics... If she can harness this power she can do anything...
Aizawa address everyone, "All right, now, let's continue the Quirk Assessment Test."
In a distant dimension, Goku and Vegeta found themselves locked in yet another epic showdown against their eternal nemesis, Frieza. The battle raged on, with punches, energy blasts, and insults flying in every direction. However, despite their Saiyan strength and determination, Goku and Vegeta were struggling to gain the upper hand against the tyrannical Frieza.
Just when it seemed like things couldn't get any worse, a blinding light suddenly engulfed the battlefield, leaving everyone momentarily stunned and disoriented. As the light faded, Goku and Vegeta blinked in confusion, only to find Frieza lying flat on his back, his skull broken…
Goku scratched his head, utterly perplexed. "Uh, did... did we do that, Vegeta?" he asked, turning to his Saiyan companion with a bemused expression.
Vegeta's eyebrows shot up in disbelief. "Me? Don't be ridiculous, Kakarot! I was too busy trying to dodge Frieza's attacks to pull off something like that!"
As they pondered the mysterious turn of events, their attention was drawn to a metallic ball sitting innocuously beside the unconscious Frieza. It emitted a faint, otherworldly glow, leaving Goku and Vegeta scratching their heads in bewilderment.
"Hey, maybe it was Frieza's new attack that got backfired!" Goku suggested, a hopeful glint in his eyes.
Vegeta rolled his eyes. "Or maybe he just tripped over that thing and knocked himself out," he muttered under his breath, unable to resist a snide remark.
Vegeta's eyes widened in disbelief as he examined the metallic ball, his Saiyan pride momentarily forgotten in the face of this baffling revelation. Scrawled across its surface in elegant Japanese characters were the words: "Izuku Midoriya; S. No: 128I97, 1-A, Batch 167, UA."
"Izuku Midoriya?" Vegeta muttered, his voice tinged with a mixture of confusion and envy. "1-A... UA... What does it mean?"
Goku, ever the optimist, leaned in closer to inspect the writing. "Maybe it's the name of a new fighter, Vegeta! Someone even stronger than Frieza!"
Vegeta's scowl deepened at the thought of someone surpassing him in strength. "Hmph, we'll see about that," he grumbled, his competitive spirit reignited.
As they continued to ponder the mysterious inscription, Goku and Vegeta couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy at the thought of this Izuku Midoriya. Just who was this person, and how powerful were they?
NOTE: The last part was supposed to be for comic relief.
The Quirk Assessment Test part will be continued and finished in the next chapter.
