Regina's PoV:
Two Years Ago:
I am on horseback heading towards the Village of Dune, along with the Sheriff and five of my royal guards, it was now late afternoon, and I was beyond feeling frustrated because thanks to this idiot the Sheriff who failed to inform me, that two of the villagers had gone to ask Snow White and Prince David for help, they were most likely making their way to Dune right now.
Now I have to step in and try to save the village and its people, years ago I wouldn't have cared less about the village or its people, however that had all changed when I took in a little girl of six years of age after I had indirectly ordered the killing of her parents, less than a week after taking the girl to live with me, wanting to give her a better life, where she would want for nothing, also hoping that having her around would stop me from feeling lonely, she had runaway, after I had found the girl again, she told me that she didn't want to live with the evil queen and that no one would ever love me.
That hearing those words, had cut me worst then any knife or sword ever could, for the first time in years, I had finally done the right thing by that little girl, I had given her to a family to look after her and that family happens to live in the Village of Dune, I hadn't gone to see her, I would on occasion check in on her through my magic mirrors, it had become too painful watching her and not being apart of her life, so I had stopped, however before leaving I had checked in on her through my mirror to make sure she was safe and she was safe for the moment, I had removed the families memories the day I had given her to them and replaced them with new memories of them finding the girl wondering alone in the woods and taking her in.
After that day, I have tried my best to try and change, so that one day my future child will love me and not see me as the evil queen, once I finally have my child, we will leave this place and find a nice little house or farm where we can live in peace just the two of us and hopefully been left alone.
Once we arrive at Dune, my first instinct is to fine that little girl, who is now thirteen years old, however there was a crowd waiting for us, I look at the faces in the crowd, and that's when I saw her, she was standing in front of a tall brunette who had her arms loosely wrapped around her from behind, oh I had almost forgotten that the family had an older daughter, she was a brunette with hazel eyes, very beautiful and still young enough to have a strong heart to bear me a child, I think to myself.
"Queen Regina, what do we owe this pleasure?" an older man asked pulling me out of my thoughts and back in the situation at hand, dismounting my horse I made my way over to the older man.
"News has reached me, about these bandits who keep attacking your village, I'm here to help and to reassure you all that the next time their attack your village, attack your families, attack your neighbours, I promise you all it will be the last," I said giving what I thought was a very motivational speech, that may just get them on my side, at least until I finally get my child and leave this kingdom behind.
"We don't need your help," someone amongst the crowd shouted.
"Who dares speak out against their queen?" one of my royal guards demanded coming to stand next to me, with his hand on the hilt of his sword.
"I understand that you are all scared, we are here to help and that is exactly what we are going to do, so tell me everything about these bandits," I tell the villagers why keeping my composure.
"We don't need or want your help," An older woman with dark hair that was beginning to turn white, stepping out of the crowd.
"Why? Because you have sent word to Snow White and Prince David? They will never get here in time, according to the information I have received that the bandits are going to attack your village again any day now, my guards and I are here to help keep you all safe," I knew this wasn't going to be easy.
"Then we will do everything in our power to keep ourselves safe until they get here, you and your guards are not welcome here," the older woman says in a hissing voice at me, making me lose my temper, using my magic I grab the woman by her throat lifting her up off the ground.
"Please don't," Another woman cried as she came running out of the crowd, she was a young woman with blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes, her clothes were dirty and torn, despite this her rags could not hide her beauty, "please don't hurt my mother, I will do anything, please I'm begging you," the woman begged me, I lowered her mother slowly back onto the ground.
"Am not here to hurt anyone, am here to help, what is your name?" I asked the young woman.
"Emma, my name is Emma Swan, if you can really help us than we will welcome your help, if you are still wanting to help us, but why do you want to help us?" Emma asked me, and I couldn't help admiring her strength and bravery.
"She only wants to help us because she wants something from us," Emma's mother spoke before I had a chance to answer Emma's question.
Emma PoV:
Present Day:
By the time I walk down the steps of our castle and out into the courtyard, Regina was giving orders to her guards, I notice that Regina was wearing her horse-riding outfit, I had been hoping that she would ride in the royal carriage with me, letting out a sigh of frustration, I make my way over to my wife, telling myself that this morning in the library had been progress.
"My Queen," I say letting her know I was here, also not wanting to get scolded or accused of eavesdropping again, when I hadn't been eavesdropping, I had simply walked into a room and not wanting to interrupt Regina, so I had taken a seat on a chair in the corner of the room and waited for her to finish, Regina had seem me sitting there and got very upset, she had locked me in my room for two days, she didn't even come to see me at night.
When Regina had finally let me out, she gave me a whole speech about how rude it was to eavesdrop and that I should be grateful for the freedoms she has allowed me to have, I had try telling her it had all been a misunderstanding, however Regina didn't want to hear it, we soon when back to our normal routine, I would spend my days reading or taking a walk in the garden's, even sneaking down to the kitchen's to see Wren, at night after dinner, I would go back to my room and with my maids help I would prepare myself for Regina, on our wedding night Regina had promise me to always be a gentle lover and she always has.
"Good you're here, we can leave now," Regina says to me walking over to her horse.
"My Queen, I thought we could ride together in the Royal Carriage," I said allowing her to see the disappointment on my face.
"What gave you that idea?" Regina asked me.
"I just thought after this morning in the library," I didn't get to finish what I was saying when Regina cut me off.
"Then you thought wrong," Regina said climbing up onto her horse.
"If you don't want to ride in the carriage with me, I would be happy to ride horseback alongside you," I said unsure while I was pushing this matter.
"NO... you will ride in the carriage where you will be safe, beside we will be riding through the village of dune and I will not have you trying to run off to see your family, now get in the carriage," Regina ordered me in a very sharp tone of voice.
"I wouldn't do that, because I made a promise to you," I remind her before turning on my heels and walking towards the carriage, getting inside without looking back at Regina, once we started moving and I was completely by myself and no one would disturb me, I allowed myself to cry silently because with Regina it was always one step forwards and three steps back.
Snow-White PoV:
Two Years Ago:
I had spent most of the evening with Red, my best friend, spending time with my best friend and not my husband wouldn't raise suspicions from my royal guards, David and I wasn't exactly in the best place right now, besides it gives me and Red an opportunity to have a good catch up since Red hasn't been coming around as much lately since the birth of her child, she thought it would upset me, thinking that seeing her child all the time would remind me of my own loss.
Over dinner I set between my husband David and best friend Red as Cody and his son Kyle told us about day-to-day life in their village, it sounded like the village was happy and thriving until these bandits showed up, Kyle informed us that a young girl aged five years old, had lose one of her eyes to these bandits in their last attack on the village.
After dinner, myself, David and Red all when into the woods together away from everyone as we didn't want anyone to overhear us.
"That poor girl, there has to be away to return her eye," Red said her voice full of sadness as her daughter was the same age.
"We need to stop these bandits first, because next time they could kill someone," David argued, and I knew he was right. As Queen I get the last say.
"Once we stop these bandits, we will then look for a magical solution that will restore that poor girl's eye, than once we have done with those two things, we will finally take back the village of dune from my stepmother," I said thinking it was finally time to step up and play more of a role against my stepmother, all these years I have taken a step backwards after losing my daughter, however I wasn't the only one who had taken a step backwards, my stepmother had also taken a step back as she felt me losing my daughter was revenge enough.
"Snow are you sure about going up against your stepmother? It could start another war," Red asked me, I understood her concerns.
"I am, If the village of dune had been under our protection then none of this would be happening right now, I am finally ready to take back what is rightfully mine," I tell her.
"Snow we are with you, we always have been, but have you forgotten your stepmother still wants you dead?" David asked and no I haven't forgotten that.
