Shattered Innocence Ch. 15

Emily walks up to the door, reaches for the doorbell, and suddenly freezes. "Come on, Emily," she then lightly smacks herself on the cheeks. "You're already here. No turning back," the young seraphim reach up at her false horns to adjust them correctly and then glances behind her back. "Okay," she takes a deep breath. "Here I go," and finally rings the bell.

After a few minutes, the eye patch woman from the other day opens the door and glares at Emily.

"Hello," the angel reaches her hand out, "I'm—" the door is slammed, causing her to blink. "Uh…"

The door opens and Alastor stares her down with his unsettling smirk.

Emily's large eye opens as she can feel herself start trembling. "I'm, I'm, I'm…" a finger is then held up to her.

"One moment, my dear!" and the Radio Demon slams the door shut.

The seraphim's chest eye closes as she blinks once again.

Once the door opens, the tall blonde woman is thrown out. "Hey! Al! What are you…" she stops as soon as her eyes lands on the disguised angel. "Oh? It's you. From the other day. Emily, right?"

Emily smiles. "That's right. You can call me Em, Emmy, E! Whatever you want! I go by whatever," she reaches out her hand to the Hotel Owner. "Sorry that I wasn't able to properly introduce myself before," her hand was immediately accepted.

"It's so nice to meet you, Emmy. It's always nice making new friends. I'm Charlie. What brings you here?" Charlie's eyes then wandered down to notice the suitcase. "Wait! Are you…"

The disguised seraphim glances down at her bags. "Yeah, well. I'm just so interested in your rehabilitation project and really wanted to check it out myself."

The Princess of Hell lets out a squeal and pulls the grey woman into a hug. "Another guest! This is so exciting!"

The door flies open and the eye patch girl shouts. "Charlie! Wait!" she pulls the blonde away from Emily. "You can't be serious?"

"Of course I'm serious, Vaggie. Every Sinner we accept brings us closer to our goal."

"But she's associated with Carmilla Carmine. We already have one Overlord to deal with. The last thing we need is another," she continues to glare at the seraphim. A slight weight is then placed over her head as Alastor rests an arm on her and the Manager can feel her eye twitching.

"You have nothing to worry about my short-sighted friend," the Radio Demon tells her.

Vaggie tried swatting him away, but he was too fast.

Alastor walks around Charlie and Emily, whose eye once again opens. "Us Overlords have made certain packs to prevent us from needlessly lashing out over feeble things. This Hotel is considered part of my territory. No other Overlord with malicious intent can trespass without my permission."

The eyepatch woman raises a brow. "What about Sir Pentious?"

"Just like most deals, there are loopholes. Our slimy friend was more of a volunteer and not really part of the Vees."

"W-what about me?" Emily looks away while worriedly glancing at the tall man. "I'm, I'm not a volunteer of the Carmines. Th-they're family."

"Hmm. Yes," Alastor hums. "Despite where you stand with the Carmines, as long as you are a guest here at this cesspool of a Hotel and not cause any trouble, someone as angelic as you are more than welcome here and under my protection."

Emily's eyes widen at the word angelic and Vaggie's brows raised as she looks between the new guest and the Radio Demon. She then sighs and slouches a bit.

Charlie pulls her girlfriend into a one arm hug. "See, Vaggie! We have nothing to worry about. Now…" the Hotel Owner then shouts into the building. "Razzle, Dazzle!"

Two cute little goat demons come flying out.

"This here is Emily," she gestures to their new guest. "She'll be staying with us. Please take her stuff to her room."

Without being told twice, the goats happily took the luggage and flew back into the building.

"Now, Emmy," she turns back to the disguised Seraphim. "I know that you're not comfortable around guys, but I would love to introduce you to everyone else. What do you think?"

Emily turns away for a moment before turning back to the tall blonde. "I would like that?"

.oOo.

Emily does not like this. As soon as she was led into the lounge area where everyone has been gathered, the disguised angel's large eye opens as she freezes at the sight of four men. There's Alastor standing off to the side, a winged cat at the bar with a spider demon leaning on the counter, and the snake man she recalls briefly seeing the other day. There is also a couple of eggs roaming around one of which tried approaching Emily, but Vaggie quickly turns them away and they seemingly forgot about Emily and then there's the small woman in a maid outfit chasing a bug around the room.

"Emmy," Charlie places a hand on her shoulder. "You don't have to do this if you don't want to."

Emily looks at the sad smile of the tall blonde and the takes a deep breath before turning back to everyone else. "H-hello! I'm Emily," she bows. "Emily Carmine."

Husker raises a brow. "Carmine!? Last I checked, there's only three Carmine's and you ain't one of them."

Emily turns to him and despite the worry in her eyes, the glazed over chest eye made the Cat Demon feel unsettled. "C-Carmilla actually adopted me recently."

Vaggie turns to the disguised angel in disbelief. "How recent?"

"Just last night," the seraphim looks down with fondness. "but it feels like forever ago," she looks back up at them. "It's nice to meet you all," she is then dragged across the floor.

"Let's get a proper introduction," Charlie starts gesturing to everyone. "These two are your fellow potential redeeming Sinners. Sir Pentious."

"Greetings, New Carmine," the snake man bows.

"Angel Dust."

The spider waves. "Hey, Toots!"

"This is our concierge slash bartender, Husk."

Emily blinks before turning to the Princess. "Doesn't a bar beat the purpose of rehabilitating Sinners?"

"Uh…"

"Hey!" the Cat Demon snaps, starling the disguised angel. "Don't knock it until you try it!"

"You already know Alastor?"

"Pleasure to officially make your acquaintance," the Radio Demon happily offers his hand, at which Emily hesitantly accepts and the Overlord enthusiastically shakes the young seraphim's entire arm. "I am the host of this fine establishment. My you have such wonderful eyes. It's almost heavenly."

Emily can feel her heart racing at the comment.

"Woah, Al!" Charlie pulls the new guest away. "Ease up on the complements. It's creepy. Even for you."

Alastor merely shrugs before leaving the room.

"And that…" the Hotel Owner gestures over to where the one eyed maid finally stabbed a bug and cheers. "That's Nifty. Our housekeeper. We're eighty percent sure she's harmless."

Nifty approaches them. "I like your hair," she lifts up her knife. "May I have some?" the maid is then lifted up buy the eye patch woman who promptly turns her around where she finds more prey. "Ooh! More bugs!" and chases after them.

Charlie gives Emily a sheepish smile. "Seventy-Five percent," and she finally introduced the last of them. "And this is Vaggie. Who is not only my partner in the Hotel but in life," she leans into her girlfriend who gives her a bright smile.

The disguised angel brows furrowed at that last part but quickly shook any thoughts out of her head.

"Now then," Charlie is now up in her face once again. "As your first night at the Hazbin Hotel, you get to choose what we have for dinner tonight."

"Well," Emily thought for a moment. "I'm not too picky with what I eat. But I will eat anything with pickles. That's not an exaggeration. And I may not look it, I can eat a lot," she looks away. "It's embarrassing sometimes."

Angel Dust then comments. "I believe that." causing the young Seraphim to blush.

The Princess of Hell snaps "Angel!" before turning back to her new guest. "I'm so sorry about that."

"It's alright," Emily subconsciously places a hand over her stomach. "I have been letting myself go. I tried to rein it in, but I can't seem to be able to control myself recently," it was at that moment her stomach then let out a growl, and she became even more flustered. "So, about dinner?"

Charlie lets out chuckle. "I'll get on that," and she walks out followed by Vaggie.

"Hey, Ms. Vaggie," the New Carmine reaches out to the Hotel Manager. "If I may ask? Have we met before? You seem familiar."

Vaggie's eye widen, and she glances away. "Uh, nope! I've never seen you before for as long as I've been in Hell."

Emily tilted her head before shrugging and walking out of the room and soon everyone else left as well.

As soon as she is alone, Vaggie slouches while reaching behind herself as if expecting to find something there.
