Steve smiled, "Well, it suits you...Either way, if you are an agent, lieutenant, or even a normal citizen, I love you, Peggy Rogers...", and Peggy smiled, "I love you too, Steve Rogers...And you know what, I bet any future kids of ours will adore their super soldier, captain, and all-good man of a father...".

"Yeah...They could...Wait, you didn't drink that conceptive tea?", Steve asked, and Peggy blinked, "I don't have the recipe from Nola, and I doubt Atlantean plants exist around here...And that tea was only on the honeymoon...Are you upset? I...I am sorry, but I...I, damn it, we were really needing this, Steve...You have no idea how much I was frustrated back there in that mansion, with no privacy hardly at all..", with a frown as she averted her eyes in shame.

"It's alright.", Steve kissed her cheek, much to her surprise. "Whatever happens, we can easily deal with it together... if we have a child soon or have one after the war ends, it doesn't matter much to me so long as you're in my life...", he assured her.

Peggy looked at him in awe before she smiled happily, hugging him, kissing him on the cheek, "You really are my prince charming through and through...", and Steve smiled, "And I will be always in your life as you are my agent of a princess...", as he caressed her hair.

They rested in each other's arms as he finally pulled out of her, for the next hour, before heading to make dinner, and so, their married life began.

Steve continued testing his limits and sending out reports of his limits to Roosevelt who told Colonel Phillips by a secure phone line via ships and such, and it lasted for 3 months, where Audrey left for Mexico, intent to help her papi out, and build a foundation in her hometown to make home care packages for the soldiers overseas, while Dr. Joshua Sweet flew out with a impatient Jacques who is worried for his people, along with Mole, with Sweet carefully heading for Italy upon landing, and Jacques, with Mole, stuck around Paris and such, with lots of food and war bonds trucking out in Jacques' lead to support his people's revolutionaries and all.

Peggy was herself mostly relieved that she didn't get pregnant, especially if she is sent out and got Phillips on her case, angry and all, but sad upon each month's monthly bleeding, wanting to make Steve happy, not knowing that with Atlantis virtually on the other side of the sea, America was too far for even the Atlantean crystal necklaces' power to get Peggy really able to bear his child or even store his seed, as it was clear that Steve was super fertile, thanks to Dr. Sweet's diagnosis before he left.

Then Preston got the call from Roosevelt that Phillips finally approved, and declared Steve to be an official soldier, to be an official captain, yet his first mission isn't yet to be known, as Phillips wanted to meet Steve first face to face before even setting out a first mission for him.

Their last night before Steve and Peggy is to fly out to Britain, Steve instinctively reaches for Peggy in their bed before sensing cool sheets, and wakes up, not hearing the shower or the distinct sound of the kitchen nook table, and gets out, putting on his pajama pants, not caring about his nude chest as it's a warm night, and looks around before seeing light upstairs, realizing that Peggy is in the loft bedroom which is partially storage right now.

With concern, he walks up the stairs, opening the partially open door, to see Peggy, in her nightgown, sitting on a child-size bed, looking at a crib, both made by Steve's hands as he discovered that he's good at wood-building after doing flowerboxes for the front and both fences for the front yard and the backyard, and their new bed, through he's not quite skilled like he is with his sketching/painting, but it's crude enough for him to be a novice on expertise levels...

"Peggy?", Steve whispers gently in the night air, and Peggy sighs heavily before Steve replies, "I can leave you if you want to be alone to think...I was...I just couldn't find you anywhere else...".

Peggy's voice replies, "No...You don't have to leave...I suppose the sheets got cold long enough for you to notice...And I thought a lot...I...I know you are a good man...But I ain't good enough...Something's wrong with me...", a sob coming out.

"Peggy...", Steve whispered as he got next to her. "Please, Peggy, what's wrong? Why on Earth would you even think all that?", he asked. He really was concerned there as this really wasn't like her at all to be like this.

Peggy whispered, "Sweet said that it would take time, but damn it, it has been three months, and straightforward bleedings...He said that since I had regular bleedings and all, I'm a fertile woman...And you are very fertile, I couldn't ever doubt that...But...I...I think I'm noncompatible, or worse...", tears falling as she choked up.

Steve instantly knew what she was meaning as he sighed. He honestly really couldn't think of much he could truly say to help her at the moment; but he hoped whatever he did say would at least be something. "Peggy...", he took another deep breath. "Please, don't think that way, maybe it is because of what I've kinda become... maybe it's because I might be a bit too strong with my genes...".

Peggy looked over and up at Steve in surprise, tear tracks on her cheeks, "What?...You...", and Steve wrapped his arm around her, his hand gently wiping her cheeks, "You heard me...If I was a simple Atlantean, or just slightly upgraded from the changes, I'd be over the moon if I impregnated you quickly, but being a super soldier in addition...My genes possibly have been overpowered to keep up in a full term pregnancy, let alone conception...So, it's not your fault, it's mine...Yes, I'm glad I'm very fertile, but seeing you cry like this...Don't ever think that it's you...I suppose Abraham had never seen this coming as he never, ever implicated that Schmidt had a family or even a woman as he is more of the type who cares for power, not love...".

Peggy sniffled, "Then...then we aren't destined to have children...I long dreamed of having a daughter with your beautiful blue eyes and my hair, or a son with my eyes and your blonde hair, or vice versa since we got married...".

"Then we can adopt, Peggy...After all, there are orphans thanks to the war...Hell, we can give them a wonderful life here no matter what they look like, where they are from...Jewish children, black children, heck, even kids from Britain...We are well financed thanks to our share from the treasure, the salaries from your agent job and my captain job once we resume things upon landing, and we have this home...", Steve smiled.

Peggy whispered, looking up at him in shock, "And what if everyone judges us for adopting foreign kids?", and Steve snorts, "Hell with them. I'm a captain, a super soldier, a fighter, and a family man, and a husband, and you are an agent, a lieutenant/officer, and a heck of a fighter, a wife and a family woman. Nobody will dare argue against us if we have anything to say about it.", with a determined look before becoming tender.

He kissed Peggy on the lips, "I want you to be happy, and if adopting kids fulfill our lives, we know we're doing something good. Heck, I bet your parents would be more than just fine, spoiling those kids if they are determined to be the best grandparents.", with a chuckle.

"Thank you, Steve...", Peggy sighed as he smiled. "I'm sorry...", she rubbed her eyes. "I just... my mind was all a mess there but you're right; it'll all be fine no matter what happens...".

Steve rubbed her back, "Hey, I'm your best friend, your husband, and more...I'll always be there for you, even when you can't see me while I'm on my missions and all...", and Peggy chuckled, "You are really sticking to your vows...".

"What kind of husband am I if I am not supporting my wife, the one I love forever and ever?", Steve smiled gently as Peggy smiled, resting her head on his shoulder, "I love you too...", as Steve kissed her forehead.

They sat there like that in a peaceful, companionable silence, not bothered of being silent for a bit before Steve whispered gently, "Feeling better?", and Peggy nodded, "Yes...Let's go back to bed...".

"I know that look...Want me to be tender and loving while we go to sleep?", Steve asked softly, and Peggy asked shyly, "Yes, if you don't mind staying in me all night like that one time, to your morning wood and all...I...I wouldn't know when we can be in bed again, and I want to have my body remember you by muscle memory and all...if that's okay? I realize I'm sounding selfish...but...you'd as well be sent off in a day or so after talking with Phillips upon us landing in Britain...".

"I know... more than likely we'll be apart soon...", Steve sighed as Peggy kissed him, "Then please... let's try and make this evening last as long as we can make it...".

Steve smiled lovingly and warmly, "Of course, I wouldn't refuse something like that, though we best go to sleep at a respectable hour...", and Peggy nodded, "That's fair...", before they headed downstairs, back to their bedroom after using the bathroom.

Indeed, upon taking off the nightgown and pajama pants, the couple went into a tender, loving pace of lovemaking as Steve thrusted slowly and passionate, holding Peggy as she was spooned against him, with his hands caressing her breasts and everywhere else he could, with his lips ravishing her neck and shoulders, for almost two hours before they came together.

Steve made sure that he is still inside her as he turned her over to face him, and smiled gently as he saw Peggy's sleepy yet blissful look, "Did I make you fall asleep?", and Peggy gave a sleepy giggle as she gave a little yawn, "Maybe...But that was perfect...", as she nuzzled him closer, her hands resting on his chest, "I'm never leaving you tonight...Don't pull out of me, stay...".

"Well, hopefully you don't move, or I don't think it'll be very comfortable for the both of us there with that.", Steve teased as she gave a small chuckle.

Peggy smiled, "As long as I am in your arms, Steve, nothing else matters...", before giving another yawn, and Steve smiled, wrapping her in his arms closer, with a moment of grabbing the blanket, and kissed her on the lips lovingly, "I love you, Peggy...".

Peggy whispered, "I love you too, Steve...Sweet dreams...", before closing her eyes as she rested her head on both the pillow and his shoulder, listening to his heartbeat, and Steve nuzzled his face into her hair, whispering, "Sweet dreams...", closing his eyes as he was comforted by his wife's subtle scent of her hair and the sounds of her peaceful, deep breathing.

They were in too much comfort not to move as they slept for the rest of the night, content and warm, and in the morning, they had a passionate wakeup as Steve stirred due to his morning wood, with Peggy enjoying it as it fully woke her up, and afterwards, they soon had a hearty breakfast together for the last time as they wouldn't know when they would be back here, if it's shore leave, or the end of the war, or something else.

They went on the train, to Preston's mansion where they picked up some of the essentials, including Steve's shield, and Preston drove them to a private sector of an airport where to their surprise, is a group of Secret Service agents, with President Roosevelt, his wife Eleanor Roosevelt, who is holding a wrapped bundle.

"Mr. President.", Steve saluted as Roosevelt nodded. "Captain Rogers, I understand that we're shipping you out to Europe today...", he chuckled, obviously joking since he was making sure to keep personal tabs on Steve; most of the transfers of units and armies he left to General George Marshall and the rest of the War Department.

"Looks to be that way, sir.", Steve nodded. Roosevelt said, "Well, I certainly hope you'll give our English friends and the rest of Europe a good hand against the Nazis and their Axis allies. God knows we need a serious win over there...".

The war was going fairly poorly in Europe as of late. In North Africa, after the fall of Tobruk, Rommel marched the Africa Korps across the deserts of Egypt and would've nearly reached Alexandria, Cairo and the Nile if not for a stiff defense by the British Commonwealth at a place called El Alamein; but for the past few months now, it was a stalemate there as neither side made any advances.

In Russia, the Nazi's summer plans were now clear; the offensive was for the oil fields of the Caucuses and the Germans had made vast gains; they were now fighting over the city of Stalingrad and near one of the major oil fields of Grozny. Only sheer waves of Soviet troops being thrown into a practical meatgrinder and over stretched supply lines on the Germans part was the USSR's saving grace.

Steve nodded, "Yes, sir. I'm ready to kick the Nazis and such back to their lands, no doubt about it.", and Roosevelt chuckled, "I'm sure you will...And Agent Carter, I heard much about you. Do not worry, your personal relations with Captain Rogers are safe behind closed doors as much as I and the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill himself, got with SSR and such, to keep safe from the Nazi and Hydra.".

Peggy smiled warmly, relieved to hear that, "Thank you, Mr. President.", and Roosevelt smiled, "It was your husband who asked me, and I couldn't deny his request to keep his wife safe...I would have done the same for Eleanor if I was able to stand and of course, younger to go out to war.", squeezing hands as he glanced lovingly at Eleanor who smiled radiantly.

Eleanor Roosevelt replied, "Indeed, though I admit I wouldn't have gone so far to be an agent, no offense, Mrs. Rogers.", and Peggy, her heart swelling as always when she is referred as Mrs. Rogers by other people, smiled kindly, "No offense taken, Mrs. Roosevelt. And I'd feel better with you being an advocate for polio, and to help with the people in this nation with your earnest compassion.".

"I see why you are smitten with her, Captain Rogers.", Roosevelt chuckled before smiling, "Eleanor, if you will?", and Eleanor smiled, nodding, "Here, Captain Rogers, I've worked on this with painstakingly precision with my husband's help on specifications of your reports about yourself, and I hope this fits you. My husband would love to have a picture taken on this important day before you and your wife leaves on this plane.", as they are in a private hangar in this private section of the airport.

One of the special service agents reply, "There's a bathroom in the hangar office over there.", as Roosevelt replied, "So, why don't you go see if it fits, Captain Rogers? After all, you'd need to be comfortable with it if you intend to be wearing it into war, to make sure that there's no issues like being too tight or such.".

"Right...", Steve said as he quickly walked over to the bathroom in the hanger before starting to get the uniform on. "Certainly unique...", he said to himself before he heard a knock on the door.

"It's me, Steve...", Peggy called out as Steve chuckled, "I'd invite you in to give me an extra hand... but this room is pretty damn cramped, I'm barely able to get this thing on in the first place...".

Peggy replied, "It's alright, Steve. I just wanted to thank you for what you did back there...You didn't have to ask President Roosevelt to keep the papers and such about me different in private, while keeping my old documents in public to fool the Nazi and such...".

"I wanted to, Peggy. After all, I know you can take care of yourself, but I'd rather be overprotective in a way now, considering that I was helpless before the whole changes to myself...", Steve said as he kept putting the rest of the uniform while removing his army civvies off.

Peggy blinked in surprise as she heard that, and replied with a chuckle, "Audrey was right...You truly do see me equally unlike a lot of men...", as she rested against the wall, leaning back casually with her arms thoughtfully crossed against her chest, listening to her husband's sounds of putting the uniform on, glancing momentarily at the door that will open out in view in her direction.

"Yeah, seems like quite the exception these days huh? Might have something to do with the fact that for much of my life, I only had my mother around...", Steve said as Peggy nodded, "Yeah, that actually makes quite a bit of sense...".

Steve grunted a moment later when she said that. "Alright, I'm coming out, what do you think?", he asked.
