All she could see was fire and smoke. Kara Zor-L looked out at what remained of Metropolis. The city was turned to rubble, all because of a single person. Kara looked up to the sky, still on her knees shaking in fear.

Through the smoke a figure hovered above all, like a god. The figure was in robes, perfectly symmetrical down the middle, with a black and white color scheme on one side and the inverse on the other. The only semblance of color was on their mask, for on the black side where their eye should be was a golden star. The star and the black dot -which was on the white side of the mask- glared down upon Kara. This glare was not of malice or hate, but of one of absolute determination.

The figure slowly moved on of their hands in toward the direction of Kara, yet Kara wouldn't move. Riping through the fabric of reality, a void in the shape of their star-like eye ripped open in from their hand, outline in a wonderous gold. Kara looked horrified, her blue eyes stuck on her soon to be killer.

Inside the star shaped void, a deep dark energy converged, before firing out like lightning in a storm. "KARA!" a voice shouted from behind her. A hand grabbed grabbed her by her shoulder before throwing her back.

She skidded along the dust and ash. She propped herself up by her elbow, looking at her savior, Superm- no, her cousin, Kal-L. The beam struck a translucent barrier that surrounded Kal-L, yet he seemed to be in pain, as if it was burning through it.

Kara quickly got to her feet, seeing her cousin in pain. She was just about to run toward him, help the last remaining person of her people, when another hand touched her.

Kara turned to see a man in black, grey, and yellow, with the symbol of a bat on his chest. "Don't, We need fall back to S.T.A.R labs," Batman stated, his white eyes were one of genuine concern and fear, which Kara had never seen before.

Kara looked back toward her cousin, who grunted in pain, the beam crashing against him, picking up dust and wind. "Will... will he make," Kara asked her voice shaky and fearful.

Batman turned away briefly, the eyes under the cowl unwilling to look Kara in her's. "I'm afraid not, he came here to save you, and hold him off. I am sorry, Linda," Batman apologize.

Kara clenched her fists, tears running in her eyes, her gaze down toward the dirt. She gave a brief and final glance at her cousin, just before his barrier shatters causing him to take the full force of the beam. She could hear his screams of agony as she grabbed Batman and zoomed off into the distance.

Superman screamed and writhed in agony as the beam of dark energy made contact with him. His scarlet red cape flailing due to the force. Sudden the beam stopped, giving Superman a moment the breath.

The Man of Steel panted heavily as the black and white figure flew through the smoke, glaring down upon him. "All I ask is balance, I wish not to hurt you, yet you resist," they chastised the hero.

"Destroying an entire planet, an universe is not way to keep balance-" Superman began weakly, his voice slightly hoarse from the screaming.

"The destruction of one universe is balanced by the destruction of another." the figure responded. "Though I plan not on keeping the balance, but returning it. Restarting it all."

Superman gritted his teeth before shooting up into air toward the figure. The figure flew to the side avoiding the charge, bring his other hand up into a swinging motion. Energy of light converged on the hand crested a whip of pure light.

Superman stopped turning around, back toward the figure. He then felt a burning sentation around his, as if they were on fire. He looked down to see his ankle wrapped in the whip. The figure then yanked Superman to the ground, dusting flying everywhere upon impact. The figure stared into the cloud of dust, waiting from Superman. A red glow came from within it, as it got closer, the dust clear, revealing it to be Superman's heat vision. The figure didn't react fast enough, as the red laser struck him in the chest, scorching the robes a bit. The figure flew back a bit from the impact but managed to recompose themself. As soon as they did so, Superman came in punching them in their masked face. They flew back agin from the punch, only to be caught by another, then another. Each punch had more force behind it than the last. The final punch sent the figure straight to the ground.

Superman rushed down toward the figure, only to be struck by the dark beam once more. Agony filled his mind as moments of his life flashed before his eyes. "You are more resilient than some of the other Supermen I met. I will not under estimate you no longer," the figure declared as many of the star-shaped voids appeared around Superman, all charging up before firing.

Kara and Batman ran into S.T.A.R labs, one of the last standing buildings in Metropolis. They ran past the few remaining survivors: the famed reporter Vicki Vale sitting with Perry White, comforting each other; the young yet bright kid, Flip Johnson and her group huddled in a corner fearful; the criminal trio, Kyle, Albert. and Shiobhan looking out the window; and a few more scattered about.

They rushed through the displays, entering what seemed to be a reactor room of some kind, where they were greated by a bald man in green and purple armor, Lex Luthor.

"Luthor, how much longer do you need to get the portal running," Batman asked the once nemesis of Superman, turning his gaze behind them.

Lex looked at the two, then back at the control panel he typed away at. "We do not have the power to support the travel of one person let alone all of us," Lex explained exasperated to the point of hitting the panel.

"We only need one person to go," Batman stated running to a seperate panel. "If we divert all power to portal we should get it working."

Lex nodded while Kara stood in the center of the room. She listened to everything, to the crying in the lobby, to the screaming of... Kal-L. It ringed over and over in her ear.

"Give up!" she heard the figure shouted, followed by the continued screams, until she heard Kal-L... stop. He is dead... Superman is dead...

"He is dead," Kara muttered to herself, catching the attention of Batman. "Kal-L is dead," her voice wavering, choking down a whimper.

Batman walked over toward Kara, woth a mourningful frown. "Linda, I am sorry, but you need to listen me. The pain you feel, hold it in you," Batman began, gripping both of Kara's shoulders looking her in the eye. Behind the cowl tears flowed. "Promise yourself, you will let no one else feel that pain."

"Wh-why are you telling me this," Kara asked Batman as the lights all shut off. There was a moment of silence, until a new light shined behind Batman. It was oval in shape and heavenly in color.

"I need you to go through the portal, it will take you to a new universe, and from there warn the Justice League, if they are not formed find their Clark Kent and help him. I need you prepare that universe to stop Equinox," Batman explained his own voice now wavering.

Kara walked past the Dark Knight stepping toward the portal. Lex stared at them, and the portal began to flicker. "Hurry we do no lt have enough time!"

"Kara, go now!" Batman shouted, as Kara turned back. It was the first he ever used her real name, yes she grew to love Linda Danvers, but deep down her name would always be Kara Zor-L.

Kara took a deep breath and stepped through the portal, disappearing for the last time. The portal then blinked out of existence. "What do we do now?" Lex asked Batman

"We hold Equinox back for as long as possible," Batman stated glaring out the door.

Just outside of S.T.A.R Labs, the figure known as Equinox hovered just above it. "Thank you, Superman, for giving me the power to bring balance to the multiverse."

Equinox brought his hand upward an the same star-shaped voids formed, much larger than the one before. It warped light around it as the ground split apart the molecules separating from each other. As it fed, it grew.

Kara groaned as her eyes slowly opened. Everything was a blurr at first, her hands gripped something metallic. Beneath her, she felt all sorts of peculiar things, from pointy to soft.

Her vision became clear relatively quickly, and she realized she was in a dumpster. Her eyes widened, and she quickly shoved herself out, landing onto the pavement beneath her, face first.

She looked at her blue suit, which seemed to have some tears from... it doesn't matter. Kara stood up, her torn cape blowing nicely in the breeze. Kara smiled for once in what felt like a long time.

Kara ran out of what seemed to be an alleyway, and onto the sidewalk by a road. She felt the warmth of the sun, she heard the wonderous chattering of the people, and then she heard someone scream.

A/N: That was the Prologue to this new series, which so far I loved writing. If you haven't checked out My Adventures with Superman, I highly recommend it. Also, for those who don't know Equinox originated in Batman: Brave in the Bold as a major villain. You do not need to know that version of the character to know my, since they are extremely different except for motivation.

I know that Season 2 of My Adventure with Super, isn't over so I want to ask, would you like me to wait until Season 2 is over or continue with it taking place during the current episode which is episode 7.
