Demyx paced the halls of The Castle That Never Was, a glimmer of excitement dancing in his eyes. He had been planning this for weeks, and now the night had come. Tonight, he would surprise his fellow Organization XIII members with a firework show unlike any they had ever seen. He could already picture the vibrant colors exploding against the night sky, the awe on their faces.
"Hey, Demyx," a sharp voice cut through his thoughts. Larxene stood in the doorway, arms crossed and a smirk playing on her lips. "What are you up to now? Another one of your silly, childish ideas?"
Demyx turned to face her, a flicker of determination in his eyes. "Actually, Larxene, I'm planning a firework show. I thought it would be something nice for everyone, you know, to lift our spirits."
Larxene let out a mocking laugh. "Fireworks? Seriously? You're such a childish fool. We're not here to play around, Demyx. We're here to fulfill our mission."
Before Demyx could respond, Axel walked in, catching the tail end of the conversation. "What's this about fireworks?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Demyx here thinks a firework show will 'lift our spirits,'" Larxene sneered, rolling her eyes.
To Demyx's surprise, Axel's face broke into a grin. "You know what? I think it's a great idea. We could all use a little something special to brighten our day."
Larxene shot Axel a look of disgust. "You can't be serious. Are you actually supporting this nonsense?"
Axel shrugged. "Why not? Life's too short to be all work and no play."
Just then, Saix entered the room, his usual stern expression in place. "What's going on here?" he demanded.
"Demyx wants to put on a firework show," Larxene said, her tone dripping with disdain. "And Axel thinks it's a good idea."
Saix frowned, his gaze shifting to Demyx. "We have more important matters to attend to than indulging in such frivolous activities. This is a waste of precious time."
Demyx felt his heart sink, but he stood his ground. "I just thought it would be something nice for everyone."
A heavy silence fell over the room as Xemnas entered, his presence commanding attention. "What is the commotion about?" he asked, his voice calm but authoritative.
"Demyx here wants to waste our time with a firework show," Larxene said, her voice laced with irritation.
Xemnas regarded Demyx for a long moment before speaking. "A firework show, you say?"
Demyx nodded, his voice barely above a whisper. "Yes. I thought it would be something special for the Organization."
To everyone's shock, Xemnas smiled—a rare and almost unsettling sight. "I think it is a splendid idea, Demyx."
The room fell silent, the members exchanging bewildered glances. Xigbar leaned against the wall, a smirk forming on his lips. "Well, well, well. Looks like our Superior has a soft spot after all."
Xemnas ignored the remark, his gaze still fixed on Demyx. "Prepare the show, Demyx. Let us see this special gift you have for us."
Demyx's face lit up with a mix of relief and excitement. "Yes, sir! I'll get everything ready!"
As he hurried off to finalize his preparations, Axel clapped a hand on his shoulder. "Told you it was a good idea, didn't I?"
Demyx grinned. "Thanks, Axel. I couldn't have done it without your support."
Later that night, the members of Organization XIII gathered on the highest balcony of The Castle That Never Was. The sky was a deep, velvety black, the perfect canvas for Demyx's creation. He stood at the edge, a sparkler in hand, his heart pounding with anticipation.
"Ready, Demyx?" Axel called out.
Demyx nodded, taking a deep breath. "Ready."
He lit the sparkler and held it to the fuse of the first firework. A moment later, a brilliant explosion of colors burst into the sky, illuminating the night. The members watched in awe as the fireworks continued, each one more spectacular than the last.
Even Larxene couldn't hide her amazement, though she tried to maintain her usual air of indifference. Saix, too, seemed momentarily captivated by the display, his stern exterior softening just a fraction.
Xemnas stood at the center, his gaze fixed on the sky, a small smile playing on his lips. "Well done, Demyx," he said quietly. "Well done."
