A/N: Sorry for the very slow update! But I hope I can pick up speed again for the coming weeks. And yes next chapter they will be telling the Weasleys. The secret being revealed is so much fun to write!

As soon as he opened his eyes, Ginny got back into bed with him.

"It's ultrasound day today," she said excitedly.

Harry glanced at her. "It is tell-my-parents day today," he replied. He was starting to second guess telling them today before lunch, but they had to tell them sometime. Today was as good a day as any.

"Yes, that too," she said with a little less excitement. She got comfortable beside him.

Harry moved down to Ginny's belly and put his hand on it, his face close. "Okay, nugget. This is the first time we will see you, so just... show us your good side, okay?" He was so eager to see her.

"She's related to me, she only has good sides," Ginny told him with a smile.

"I have a bad side, though," Harry commented.

Ginny used her hand to move his chin. She squinted as she looked at him. "I am sorry, but I don't see it."

"Then it's looking good for the nugget, won't it?" Harry said. He looked back down at her belly and kissed it, trying not to worry too much.

"Oh, stop frowning like that," she said when she caught his expression.

Harry snorted. "I am sorry, it comes with the dad mode. This is a daughter-father moment, stop eavesdropping."

She chuckled. Her hand covered his. "This is still so scary, but moments like this makes me believe we'll be okay."

He looked up to her and met her eyes. "You like a challenge, this one is baby-shaped. She is going to be adorable, and we'll love her very much." He pulled Ginny into his arms. "Really, a baby raised by us, what's the worst that could happen?"

Ginny laughed. "So, so many things, Harry."

"Nothing we can't handle," he said in the hopes of reassuring her.

There was a different type of anxiety this time going to the hospital and excitement to see the baby. They got there much too early and settled down in the waiting room. They played a conspiracy theory game involving the other patients in the room. At least it made Ginny laugh and they could keep the anxiety at bay.

Coming back out of the hospital, Harry felt a sort of happiness he hadn't felt before. Their baby was healthy, they had seen it move on the ultrasound and the thundering heartbeat echoing through the room had been so amazing. Harry's hand was still slightly numb from Ginny squeezing it so hard, but he couldn't even begin to care.

As they got back to their car, Ginny could only look at the ultrasound.

"That's in there," she said, pointing from the ultrasound to her belly as if the realisation only just sunk in.

Harry shook his head happily. "That was absolutely magical." He wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her head.

"Do you understand why I wanted to wait for this ultrasound? This was worth every anxious thought," she said, keeping her hand on her stomach.

He nodded. "I still disagree with, but you are right; it was worth it." He smiled at her happily.

"And due date still for New Year... we should aim for midnight." Her eyes twinkled. "Don't you think?"

"Babies come when they want to, Gin. But I am sure you can challenge her." His hand covered hers on her belly.

"Not if she's stubborn like me," she spoke. She grinned. "Then we're going to be an absolute headache for you."

"I am counting on that," he told her fondly. After another kiss, on her temple, he realised her and walked to the driver's side. "Where to?"

She looked up from the ultrasound. "What do you mean where to?" she asked with a frown.

"Doesn't this call for a celebration? We have two hours before we need to go to my parents... and tell them. These are the last hours it is a proper secret, discounting Dean."

She walked to the car too. "I think we need to go to the copy centre and make five hundred copies of these," she said, waving the ultrasound. "We will need to have one for each grandparent at least."

"Last time I checked we only had four of those," Harry replied, pretending to count on his fingers. He bent down and stepped into the car. Ginny joined him in the passenger's seat.

"Harry!" She pushed against him. "You know what I mean." She pouted at him.

He laughed. "Yes, my dearest. To the copy centre we go." He pulled out of the parking spot.

"Unless they think we are stupid and they kick us out... then we don't... need that," Ginny said quietly.

"That's not going to happen," he said firmly, driving towards the exit. He didn't want to consider the worst-case scenario. "Maybe they'll be taken aback but can you imagine any of them... if you would put the baby onto their lap, their granddaughter. Do you really think they wouldn't coo over her and spoil her rotten?" He looked over at her with raised eyebrows.

"Yes." She sighed. "Maybe. I am just worried. Rationally speaking this whole thing is kind of irresponsible and stupid."

"Is it? I think for every year we were best friends, you need to add a month to our dating count. And then it's still crazy but slightly less so," Harry said. He squeezed her knee in comfort. "We weren't strangers to each other and don't forget our parents all thought we'd get together properly. I think if you allow them a moment to process, they'll react fine."

Her face dropped; her eyes focused on him. "You're just telling that to yourself, so you won't freak out, right?"

"Totally," he admitted with a frown. "You must not forget I am an accident too. I am just wishing they're not hypocrites."

"Living proof that accidents can be cute," she said, her fingers coming to his jaw.

"Aw, you think I am cute?" He grinned at her. He put his parking ticket in the machine and the gate opened. He drove into the street and started driving towards the copy centre.

"Very," she said. "But I am working hard to make this one even cuter, she and I have an agreement you see."

"Is that so?" he asked. "Who are you kidding? If she looks even slightly like you, she's going to be perfectly cute. Honestly, I think she has your nose."

"You can't see that!" Ginny told him. Yet she lifted the ultrasound to look at it closer. "That does look like my nose," she said after a moment of silence.

He smiled softly to himself. "Hearing the heartbeat was so amazing too. It makes it feel so real."

Ginny looked up at him. "Yeah, that got me too. Part of me wants to hold her already."

Harry chuckled. "Hold your horses, Weasley. We are not ready for a baby yet."

Ginny leaned towards him. "Don't you want to hold a cute baby girl in your arms, cute little fingers and toes, cute brown eyes and a small nose..."

He slapped his free hand over his ear. "Stop it! I shall not be persuaded by your mental tactics!" He sighed. "Yes, damnit. I do want that. I want to hold our kid."

They waited as they copied the ultrasound a few times and then cut them so they could give. They paid at the counter, holding more copies of the ultrasound than they would probably need.

Harry took her hand again as they walked outside. Ginny put away the ultrasound copies in her bag.

"Are you going to keep looking at me like that?" Ginny asked him with an amused smile.

He met her eyes. "Yes. I understand the implications of 'being pregnant', but now it's just different having seen the baby."

Ginny's eyes sparkled. She turned to Harry and put an arm around him. "I can make it more real and I can start calling you... daddy."

He got out of her arm and stepped back. "Ginny! That's terrible. Please never say that again like that."

She burst out laughing and walked up to him again, taking his hand back in hers. "I am kidding. She'll call you that."

"That will be different," he said. "And if you do that again, I'll start referring to you as a MILF."

She scowled. "I am too young to be called a MILF."

"Not if you've had a baby," Harry said with a smile. "You'll be the young mum all the other mums envy because you'll be young and sexy. The one their husbands turn their heads for."

"Only you find me that sexy," she commented, pulling him along.

"I sincerely doubt that," he responded.

"As long as I am turning your head, I don't really care what the rest does," she told him.

"You always are. Usually with a crazy theory, not your looks though." He grinned at her.

She tried to keep her face straight and look angry, but she ended up laughing. "You like my wits more than my looks, I hear you."

"Precisely," he said. He spotted a store. "That store has a maternity section. If you want to go look." He paused and looked at her. "Unless you're not ready for that."

Ginny's brows furrowed as she thought. "No, let's go inside."

They walked inside and went over to the maternity section.

"If you think some of my bras are complicated, you should look at those nursing bras," Ginny said, pointing at one.

"Sure, but opening them is fairly obvious. They are built to have 'easy access', you see," he replied.

She nodded in agreement. She looked at one of the mannequins. "Can you imagine me this big?"

"Go and stand behind it." He watched as Ginny stood beside it, trying to line up her head. "No, you're too short, this isn't believable."

Ginny chuckled. "The saleswoman is looking at us."

Harry glanced over to the woman at the till. "She's just trying to figure out if we're youngsters being annoying or if you're actually pregnant."

"You think so?" she asked.

Harry turned a little and placed his hand on her belly. She quirked an eyebrow at him.

"And?" he asked.

Ginny's eyes slid from him to the lady and she bit her lip. "She's coming over here."

"See!" Harry said.

She turned around and hid her face against his arm to hide she was laughing. "You're going to get us kicked out."

He kept his face straight. "What do you mean? This woman is about to offer us the greatest discount you have ever heard of."

Harry opened the door to his parents' house. "Hi!"

"We are in the kitchen!" Lily's voice came.

Ginny took a deep breath in. Harry turned around and squeezed her hand. She nodded to say she was ready and they walked inside. She was glad he was holding her hand, or she may have turned around and left. She could see the worry in Harry's eyes too.

"What do you want to drink? Cocktail, a little apéritif?" James asked.

"Whatever you're having," Harry told his dad.

"Just a coke for me, please," Ginny said.

James walked to the fridge to get the drinks. Ginny glanced at Harry. He nodded.

"Before we get to lunch, we need to tell you something," he said softly.

James paused and closed the fridge. He came to stand beside his wife.

Lily looked between them, as if she could read the news from their faces. "You're looking rather serious. You didn't elope, did you?"

Harry cocked his head. "Mum, if I get married you need to be there, don't be ridiculous."

Ginny chuckled nervously. "No eloping, we promise."

"No." Harry swallowed. "It's something else."

They looked at each other and Ginny squeezed his hand.

"Ginny is pregnant, we are having a baby," Harry said.

Ginny watched as his parents looked at him wide-eyed. Then they looked at her, down to her stomach and then they shared a look between each other. They seemed to be talking without speaking.

Lily looked back at them. "Really?"

Ginny nodded. "Yes," she said softly.

"And since I am going to be a dad, that means you will be grandparents soon," Harry said and though he looked nervously, he couldn't hide his smile.

"... Me? A grandpa...?" James said in utter disbelief. "I am 45, I can't be a grandpa!"

Lily looked tearful. "My baby is having a baby? I hadn't thought about grandkids... not so soon anyway..."

"Well, one on the way," Ginny said with a soft smile.

Lily wrapped both Harry and Ginny in a hug simultaneously. "I can't believe it."

Ginny leaned into her and hugged her tightly.

James stood frozen on the spot. "Did I prepare anything you can't eat?" he asked as his eyes landed on her.

Harry let go of his mum. "Dad, you sent me the menu. I gently nudged you away from things she can't have."

James' eyes landed on his son. "Oh. Oh! You sneaky bastard." James hugged him and clapped him on the back. He turned to Ginny, as tearful as Ginny was. "Well, I guess that means you're officially part of the family. Sorry, I don't make the rules." He hugged her tightly too.

"Do you want to see the little nugget?" Harry asked when Ginny was released from her hug.

Both parents nodded eagerly. "Of course!"

"Do you know the sex of the baby yet?" Lily asked as Harry went into his pocket.

Ginny looked at Harry so he could say.

"Yes, it's a girl. Granddaughter it is." He took out the ultrasound and showed it to them.

Lily and James held onto each other as they looked at the ultrasound. "Oh! Look at that," James said.

"I am 11 weeks now," Ginny said. "That's from this morning."

Lily looked up. "That's from today?"

Ginny smiled. "Yes, we just saw her for the first time today."

"11 weeks?" James asked with a frown.

Harry grimaced. "Please don't think on that one too long."

Lily looked up, eyes wide but she seemed to bite back a smile. "When did you find out?" They kept glancing down at the picture as they spoke.

"At five weeks," Ginny said. "My period was late. At first I thought it was a fluke but... it wasn't."

Lily waved the ultrasound. "Can I keep this?"

Harry smiled. "Yes, we made copies."

Lily took a magnet and put it on the fridge. James opened the fridge again.

"Ah, that's why you are just drinking coke," he said with a shake of his head.

"I am not giving up alcohol voluntarily. Although I can't say I have missed it much yet," she said.

James poured the drinks and handed them over. He pushed them out of the kitchen to finalise the food. They sat down, somewhat relieved it was going okay.

Lily looked at Ginny. "How have the symptoms been?"

"Alright. Morning sickness was bad for a while but that's mostly gone now. I think Harry can attest to terrible mood swings," she said with a look at him.

Harry nodded. "And you're already..." He covered her hand with his. "I love you, but you are a bit fiery even when not ruled by hormones."

Ginny sniggered, not offended. "I know. I don't think that will get better."

"It doesn't," Lily said.

"But other than that, I haven't had much trouble, really." She smiled at Harry. "And he's been pretty great."

Lily scoffed. "Well, I should hope so!"

Ginny looked at Lily and she couldn't say everything, of course. "No, but he was so quick to figure out what I should eat in the morning, handles cravings..."

"Are you just trying to butter us up by telling us we raised him well?" James asked, walking to the table and setting the food down.

"Saw right through that, did you?" Ginny said with a smile.

James sat down. "You don't need to. Having a baby unplanned is a little more complicated than it should be but... we don't regret having Harry, most of the time," he ended with a smile.

"It was quite a shock initially for sure." Harry smiled shyly. "And of course it was much too fast but I am also really excited. I like to think we have a good thing going and we would have kids eventually anyway."

"I would like to think so, yes," Ginny agreed.

"And how is the baby?" Lily asked as they started on their food.

Ginny's hand touched her belly. "All the tests came back normal, and the ultrasound was fine too."

"She's estimated for the first of January, so don't make too crazy plans," Harry said. "You better be one of the first to meet that kid."

"I am sure we can clear our schedule for a grandkid. Right, James?" Lily said.

"You bet!" James said. "Once I get over the fact I will be a grandpa at 45."

Harry chuckled. "You had me younger than I am now, so I think most of the blame falls on you for that one."

James' jaw dropped. "Now I don't think that's fair at all. We were together...how many months when you got pregnant?" he asked his wife.

"Months," Harry repeated in amusement.

"A few," Lily said. "At least some."

Harry looked down at his plate. "In our defence, we have been friends for really long."

"We're never going to hear the end of that, right?" Ginny said.

Lily shook her head. "We sure don't. Our friends still tease us about it." She looked between them. "You know what bothers me?"

Harry looked slightly alarmed. "What?"

"That I hadn't figured it out myself," Lily said. "We are secret agents. We always notice everything."

"It was just unexpected for everyone," Harry said. "That's also why I told her about the agency too abruptly. I knew with a baby on the way, I couldn't really keep that secret for long. I wanted her to know."

James' eyes widened. "When I came by here and you were fighting about it, you knew she was pregnant?"

Harry nodded quietly. "I couldn't really just tell you and you didn't ask so... I left the reason in the middle. It didn't make that conversation easier either."

"Talking about conversations, do your parents know yet?" Lily asked.

"No." Ginny shook her head. "We were waiting for the ultrasound. We will tell them tomorrow."

"Let's hope that goes well, I know reactions can be mixed," Harry's mum said.

"I am obviously stressed about it but... I am not sure if the lady with seven kids really has a right to speak," Ginny said with a small smile.

"Either way we'll be here for you," Lily said.

"Thank you, I appreciate it," Ginny said. "Coming here today was stressful too. It's just... it's big news to drop and we know it's a little crazy too."

"I have always known you two would go well together," Lily said. "So I am hopeful you will figure it out."

"And of course, we are here to help, too," James said.

"I am sure in time we will need it," Harry said. "But aren't you glad I am continuing the Potter line?"

"Your distraction tactics don't work on us," James replied. "But I suppose it's nice."

"Will it be a 'Potter'? Lily asked. "Or did you not decide that yet."

"Her last name will be 'Potter', yes," Ginny gladly confirmed. "I think I have enough brothers to carry on the 'Weasley' name." She looked at him. "And when we eventually get married, it'll match."

Lily's eyebrows raised high, but she didn't speak. Instead choosing to take a sip of wine. It only poorly hid her smile.

Leaving after lunch was difficult.

They turned around once again at the door.

"And if you have any updates, you need to tell us, okay?" Lily said.

"Yes, mum. We will," Harry said.

They got in the car and Ginny got five texts before they were out of the street.

"Please tell me that's not my mum," Harry asked.

Ginny chuckled. "It is. And she apologised for not saying 'congrats'." She shook her head with a smile.

Ginny went to the restroom in the early morning and silently slipped back into Harry's room, hoping not to wake him. Instead, she found him with his face buried in his pillow, his arms covering his head and he appeared to be shaking slightly.

"Harry?" she asked quietly.

He turned around instantly, eyes wide, as if he had not realised, she was there.

"Are you okay?" she asked, noticing he was breathing heavily.

He shook his head. "No, yes. I had a dream that we lost the baby and there was... so much blood and we couldn't get to the hospital, and I woke up and you weren't here and I just..." His fists clenched the sheets.

"I just went to the restroom, and I assure you I feel absolutely fine. We saw the nugget less than a day ago." She turned around to show she was alive and well. "If there was any blood to be seen, I'd seen it." She hoped it would calm him somewhat. His fists remained clenched; his eyes panicked. His whole body was tense and his breathing did not slow down. "Fuck, Harry. Are you having a panic attack?"

She quickly got into bed and wrapped him in her arms. She took one of his hands and led it to her belly. His fist unfolded and his hand came to rest against her skin.

"The nugget is fine," she said. "Her heart is probably going as fast as we heard it yesterday. Just beating away, trying to grow little organs and brain cells..." He was still not moving, but she could tell he was trying to focus on what she was saying. "I am feeling absolutely fine. No pain, no nothing. Definitely not bleeding. I am healthy and the baby is healthy, okay? It's going to be okay."

His fingers pressed softly against her skin. "I know, it was just a dream." He shook his head as though he wanted to shake off the thoughts. "I knew you were just in the restroom or getting snacks or whatever... I was just trying to calm down."

Her fingers carded through his hair softly, trying to soothe him. "Harry, if you are that panicked, you come find me. I don't care if it is because you think I stubbed my left toe or you think the world's gone to shit, you come and find me. And I'll tell you everything will be okay, because it will." She kissed his forehead. "Do you get those often?" she asked, referring to his panic attacks.

"Not usually about you," he said softly. "Or babies for that matter." He slumped against her. "Isn't it crazy to be so worried about something we didn't know we wanted?"

Ginny smiled softly. "Really shows how much you do want it now, doesn't it?" Her hand covered his. "The ultrasound really made it so much more real."

He nodded. "I'd die for that baby and it's not even here yet."

"If this happens again, you just talk to me, okay? I am here for you," she told him.

"It's usually not about you," he mumbled. "It's about agency stuff sometimes or just... random things."

"I don't care what it's about. I'll comfort you and distract you." She smiled softly. "I am rather good at that last one. What kind of agency stuff?"

"Well, the guy that made us go into hiding that year, he still hasn't been caught. Sometimes I worry he'll come after us." He sighed. "It's one of the reasons I couldn't let it go and started working for them. If he's out there, we have to do better, try and take him out. And if it is not him, there are plenty like him we should take care of."

"If he scares you, why the hell would you want to go after him?" Ginny wondered out loud.

"It's the right thing, if you knew what he did, you'd understand. Tom Riddle... "

She frowned. "Isn't he a CEO of something?"

"That too. That's how he manages to stay free. Legitimate business, partners in his pocket with money to spare... Everyone knows what he's doing and yet, there is no proof," Harry explained.

"Did he come after your parents and you?" she asked. Harry didn't often talk about the year he went missing. The details she had were limited.

He nodded. "He did. He's not afraid of spilling blood. My parents never wanted to train me until that point but then they had to, at least give me a gun so I wouldn't be defenceless."

"Imagine if you hadn't come back alive." She shook her head and pulled him a little closer.

"Hey, if you must know I am incredibly hard to kill." He smiled softly.

"I believe it." She kissed him.

"Are you sure you feel absolutely fine?" Harry asked her.

"Yes, my love. Baby and I are splendid right now. Healthy as a horse. The doctor said all was okay too, we are fine."

Harry looked away embarrassed. "I know, it's stupid."

"It's not stupid." She pressed her hand against his cheek so he'd look at her. "And I know you can't tell how I am feeling. But trust me, if I felt like something was off, you'd be the first to know. And you'd get me wherever we needed to go."

"I want to hold her already, see her breathe..." he said. His thumb rubbed over her skin.

"I am working on it. You'll have to be patient." She shifted to lie more comfortably, her arms still around Harry. "Besides, we have much shit to figure out before she comes."

He smiled. "I know, I know. And she's safe in there, I know that too."

"You bet."
