At least after 'Glaciator 2'. They are not exactly a couple yet but still cutesy with each other.

I'm going to officially refer to them as: flirting friends.

Day #21: Catnap

Another day in Paris, another akuma defeated and purified by Ladybug and Chat Noir.

Marinette was pooped.

The akuma took almost all day to battle. She had to use her lucy charm twice, which meant she had to stop in the middle of the fight to hide, detransform, feed Tikki, retransform, then jump back in. The akuma was fast, strong, and very stubborn.

As soon as she jumped through her skylight and landed on her bed, her transformation timed out. Marinette yawned. She needed a nap. Just a quick one. But she didn't like to sleep on her bed during the day and in her street clothes. So she tiredly climbed down her stairs to her room's main floor, removed her shoes and purse, then collapsed onto her chaise.

After making herself comfortable, Marinette closed her eyes.

To her, it only felt like a few short minutes before she heard a soft thud—the same sound her bed makes when she landed on in hard from jumped down through her skylight.

She hadn't been completely asleep but she still groggily opened her eyes and, sure enough, Chat Noir was up on her bed, staring down at her.

"Afternoon, Sleeping Beauty," he said, grinning his charming grin.

"Chat?" Marinette sat up and rubbed at her eyes. "Am I dreaming?"

"That depends…" Chat jumped over her railing and landed on his feet, right in front of her. "You dream about me often?" he asked, his face leaned down closer to hers.

Marinette smirked and rolled her eyes. "In your dreams maybe, silly kitty," she replied, playfully pushing his chest back up. "So what's up?" she asked. What was he doing here after a day like they had had?

"I just finished an epic battle with Ladybug against a pretty nasty akuma," he explained before a mighty yawn escaped his mouth. "And I am exhausted," he uttered at the tail end of it. Then he noticed that she had indeed been napping just before he arrived. "You're tired too?" he asked curiously.

Marinette snapped out of her sleepy haze and was more awake now. She couldn't tell him that she was tired out from the same reason as he was. "Uh, yeah," she uttered, thinking fast for an excuse. "I didn't sleep so good last night and…it's been a long day. Very busy," she said with a nervous chuckled, then gave her arms a strength for extra emphasis.

Chat nodded at her, buying the excuse. "Anyway, I'm too tired to run all the way home. So, if you don't mind, I thought I'd take a quick cat-nap here," he explained. To really sell himself, Chat got down on a knee in front of her, clasped his hands together, and looked at her with his biggest pleading eyes. "Pretty please," he pouted.

Marinette playfully rolled her eyes again. He didn't need to beg this much. Truth be told, she won't mind hosting his nap at all. He had really saved her spots today during the battle. Even if he didn't know it, she wanted to show him a bit of gratitude.

"Oh, okay," she sighed. "For saving Paris today, you've earned it." Chat grinned, feeling victorious. He got up and sat next to her on her chaise. "Wait," Marinette said before getting up. She grabbed a pillow from her chaise, put it on the floor, then sat down with her knees on the cushion. "Lay here," she instructed, patting her lap.

Chat stared wide eyed at her for a second before smiling, touched and grateful, before getting up. He laid down on the rug in the middle of her floor on his back and lowered his head until it was on her thighs.

Chat looked up at her upside-down face, smiling down at him.

"This is nice," he hummed, smiling up at her. As much as he wanted to enjoy the view, his eye lids were getting heavier by the second. So he closed his eyes and started to let his mind go. But moments later, he felt a hand in his hair, gently scratching his scalp. He opened his eyes again, still seeing his princess's sweet smile. "Marinette-" he started to say.

"Shhhh," she quietly hushed him, continuing her head scratches. Chat couldn't help but melt under her touch. Nor could he stop the feline purr from rumbling in his throat. "Close your eyes," she whispered.

Way too tired and far too soothed to say anything else, Chat's eyes fluttered shut and they stayed shut for the next half hour. All the while, Marinette stroked his soft blonde hair and listened to his adorable purring.

This one is way shorter than the rest of my others. But I'm still proud with how it turned out.

Next prompt will be posted the 24th =^.^=
