Marinette and Adrien's first real kiss at the end of 'Revolution' was beautiful and romantic, but very sad. So I rewrote it, basically if Adrien had been able to get out of the car before they got to the airport.

Day #22: First Kiss
"No. I'm sure that mom would have just wanted me to be happy!"
Just as he said this, the car came to a stop at an intersection. With tears in his eyes, Adrien turned back to his window. Glancing down, he noticed that his door was unlocked.
Adrien quickly glanced up to see his bodyguard's eyes staring at him through the rearview mirror. All he did was nod.
With the car still halted and after taking a steadying breath, Adrien opened his door, slammed it closed and ran for it.
If his father got out too and was yelling out to him, Adrien ignored it. His heart was beating too loud in his ears anyway.
It had all been a joke. His father suddenly being sweeter to him; letting him call him 'dad,' making him breakfast, coming to school functions, letting him quit modeling, letting him see his friends more. In the end, he was all still only about whatever he wanted him to do and be. He could never let Adrien be what he wanted. Then again, he hardly knew exactly what he wanted.
The only thing he did know was that he wanted to see Marinette.
When he couldn't run anymore, Adrien stopped and leaned against the wall of a building in an alley. He wasn't sure where he was but he was sure that he was far enough away from his father. Was there really such a thing? They could still catch up to him. He was too out of breath to keep running and he needed to get to Marinette's house as quickly as possible.
"Plagg, Claws Out!"
Once he was transformed, Adrien leapt up onto the closest rooftop to get his bearings.

About a minute later, when Chat Noir was close enough to the Dupain-Cheng's Boulangerie Patisserie, he jumped back down to street level and detransformed. Back in his civilian attire, Adrien ran the short distance left between him and his true love.
Knowing that the bakery was closed, Adrien ran to the side door. It was open so he entered and closed it behind him before running up the stairs until he reached the door he knew lead to the apartment. When he finally reached the door, Adrien took a minute to catch his breath again before knocking.
The door opened to both of Marinette's loving parents on the other side. "Adrien," Sabine greeted him warmly.
"Mr. and Mrs. Dupain-Cheng," Adrien greeted back, trying to put on a friendly face despite how upset he still was. "May I come in?"
Sensing that something was off with the sweet boy, the two parents let him enter. "Of course, dear," Sabine said. Tom closed the door behind him.
"Is Marinette still here?" He prayed that she hadn't left for the school's party at the Eiffel Tower yet.
"Yes, she's up in her room getting ready for the party," Tom replied.
Adrien quietly sighed in relief and glanced up at the door in the ceiling that lead to her room longingly and with sad eyes.
"Adrien, are you alright?" Sabine asked him. He was breathing hard, either out of breath from running or from nerves. Or both. And his eyes looked misty and full of pain.
He looked like he was on the brink of an emotional break down.
Adrien's breath shuttered a bit. He shook his head slightly. "No. I-" he paused. As wonderful as Marinette's parents were, they weren't the one he was desperate to talk to about what was going on. "I just need to see Marinette. Please," he insisted as politely as possible, his voice cracking.
Sabine and Tom shared a concerned look before deciding that it was best to allow what he was asking—provided that Marinette was descent in her room.
Sabine walked up the stairs and knocked on the trapdoor. "Marinette!" she called up.
"Yeah mom?" Marinette sweet voice called back.
"You have a guest. Can we send him up?"
"Sure!" With that, Sabine stepped back and gestured for him to go up.
"Thank you," he thanked them both before climbing the stairs.
When Adrien pushed the trapdoor open and climbed up, the first thing that caught his attention was Marinette standing by her mirror.
She said she had been making a new dress for herself for the party, and it was adorable. A white dress with small pink designs along the top helm and other various spots. And her bluenette hair was up in a perfect single bun.
Marinette turned around and faced him. "Adrien. Are you ready to go to the-" she paused upon seeing him. He was smiling but there was obvious sadness underneath it and his eyes were brimming with tears. "Adrien?" she asked, concerned.
"You…You l-look beautiful, Marinette," he stuttered. He never stuttered. And his words sounded choked up. Then his lip started to tremble.
"Adrien, what's wrong?" She took a few cautious steps closer to him.
Finally, the dam broke. Adrien let out a sob before closing the gap between them. "Oh Marinette!" he cried as he wrapped his arms around her. "Everything's wrong! I'm wrong, my future's wrong, my father's wrong!" he cried into her shoulder.
Her dress exposed her shoulders so it was mostly skin he was crying into. Her skin was soft and warm. Comforting.
Marinette immediately wrapped her arms around him. "Shhh. It's okay," she whispered. One of her hands rubbed his back up and down while the other gently stroked the back of his hair. As she let him cry, Tom and Sabine pocked their heads up through the trapdoor only to discreetly close it, giving them some privacy. The teens stood there for a minute or two until Adrien calmed down a bit. Marinette pulling away just enough so she could direct them over to her chaise so they could sit down. "What happened? Why are you sad?" she asked him, still holding onto his hands as they sat side by side.
Adrien quickly wiped his eyes with the inside of his wrist and sniffled. He wasn't able to tell Marinette the whole truth before. I didn't know how he could. But now he had to.
"I-I should've told you sooner, but up until the last minute, I thought I'd find a solution. I tried everything, I swear," he said to her, almost pleadingly. "My father told me that I'd be leaving Paris to attend high school in London. I'm supposed to leave tonight. We were on our way to the airport but I couldn't do it. So when the car stopped, I jumped out and ran here."
Marinette's heart broke a little. "London?" she whispered, her own eyes glazing over a bit.
Adrien was supposed to leave? Why didn't he tell her?
"I didn't want to go!" he quickly reassured her. "I tried telling my father a hundred times that I wanted to stay here. To go to high school with you and all of our friends but he wouldn't listen." Adrien's eyes drifted off from her as they filled with fury. "He never listens!" he growled angrily. Adrien stood up abruptly and started pacing the middle of her bedroom floor. "I can't believe I was dumb enough to think that he had actually changed! He doesn't care about me at all. All he cares about is himself and whatever he wants!" he shouted, swinging his arms wildly. He suddenly felt an alarming need to destroy something. "He just wants to control me and do whatever he wants me to do instead of just letting me live my own life!" Adrien tightly gripped his head with both his hands and closed his eyes, letting more tears squeeze out. "I can't take it anymore!"
Marinette bolted up from her chaise and went up to her distraught boyfriend. She gripped his wrists and got him to lower them. "Adrien, look at me," she said but his eyes remained shut tight. "Look at me!" she said a bit louder, cupping the sides of his face. Finally, he opened his eyes, meeting her comforting bluebell stare. "Breath, okay," she told him.
Adrien listened. He followed her lead as she took a deep breath in, then slowly let it out.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to shout," he apologized sincerely.
"You're angry. You have every right to be," she told him tenderly. She was angry too. For him and at Gabriel. "But you are not dumb for believing that your father was becoming better. He's your father and you want to love him." He just made it very hard to with everything he's done.
Adrien sniffled again, then reached up and placed his hands over hers still on his cheeks.
"I just can't stand being controlled anymore," he uttered, his tone sad again. He lowered their hands while still grasping hers in his. "I don't just want to talk about what I want and then it just gets ignored. I want the freedom to make my own choices and then actually do what I want."
He had talked about his desires to his father and even Nathalie, but they've always just told him what to do instead, like what he had to say didn't matter. He had told them to Marinette as well and she had tried to help him however she could, but his father usually got in the way then too.
"Well, what do you want, Adrien?" she asked him.
She was asking him what he wanted. Adrien could start sobbing all over again, but with joy. He loved her so much. And he was tired of waiting for the right moment to show her exactly how much he did.
This was that moment.
"I want to kiss you."
Marinette blushed again and she looked almost frightened, but then she smiled. She was tired of waiting too. Her eyes fluttered closed and she leaned in. Adrien did the same until their lips met in a tender lock as more fireworks exploded in the skies of the city just outside her window.
When they pulled away, still grasping hands, their eyes fluttered open.
"I've wanted to do that for so long," Marinette giggled, still close to his face. "I love you, Adrien." She was so proud she could say that so clearly now.
"I love you too, Marinette. With all my heart," Adrien replied, just as passionately before pulling her to him in a loving embrace. As he caressed the back of her head, Adrien's lips narrowed with determination. "I swear to you, Marinette. I won't let my father control me anymore," he swore. He couldn't make it happen before but he wasn't going to let it happen again. Adrien pulled back to look at her properly. "I don't know how but I'm staying in Paris no matter what."
Marinette nodded with a just as determined look. Then, after a moment of thought, she smiled. "Sounds like we're gonna need a little help," she said.
His father, Nathalie, and/or his bodyguard would most likely come looking for Adrien there. So the two left the bakery, hopped on Marinette moped, and rode to the Eiffel Tower together. For the party and to recruit the support from their dearest friends.
No matter what the future held, at least Adrien and Marinette finally got to share their very first kiss. And no one could take that away.
Next chapter here will be the last, the 29th, and then it's on to Marichat May! (provided that I actually see the list before too long).
See u then ;D
