Kanto Gets Loud
Chapter 10: Lucky Lincoln
The Next Morning, at the Pokemon Center,
Lincoln, Misty, and Raigo had just woken up, and were heading to the lobby. They were planning to head out as soon as they got their Pokemon back. As soon as they arrived in the Lobby, Nurse Joy greeted them, "Good morning you three. I trust you had a good night's sleep?" she asked.
"Probably the best sleep I've had in a long time," Lincoln commented.
"I can't even begin to tell you how good it feels to sleep in a bed like that after the past few days of hiking through the wilderness," Raigo commented.
"I definitely needed every minute of that sleep," Misty commented. Lincoln then proceeded to return the key card.
"Here's the key card," he said.
"Thank you. Now, before you go, Officer Jenny and the Pokemart Clerk have something they wish to discuss with you," Nurse Joy said, pointing to the Pokemart, where the police officer from last night was standing, talking with the clerk.
"Really? Did we do something wrong?" Lincoln asked.
"Quite the opposite. From what I overheard, Jenny wants to ask you three about what happened last night. As for the clerk, I think he said something about having something for you," Nurse Joy replied. Sharing a glance with one another, the three trainers made their way over to the Pokemart.
"You wanted to see us, Officer?" Lincoln asked.
"Yes. I understand that the three of you were instrumental in driving off Team Rocket from the Pokemon Center last night. On behalf of the Viridian City Police Department, I want to personally thank each of you for your actions," Officer Jenny explained.
"It was our pleasure, Officer. Anyone would've done the same thing if they were in our position," Misty replied.
"Speaking of Team Rocket, were you guys able to find them?" Raigo asked.
"Unfortunately, we weren't able to find them. Not even their hot air balloon," Officer Jenny replied.
"Sorry Officer. I tried to keep them from getting away, but they got out of reach," Lincoln replied.
"It's quite alright. The important thing is that the Pokemon Center is safe. Anyhow, that's all I wanted to talk to you about. I do believe the Pokemart Clerk has something he wants to give each of you," Officer Jenny said, stepping to the side.
"That's right, Officer. On behalf of those working at the Viridian City Pokemart, I would like to present the three of you with these," the clerk said, distributing bags of goods to the three trainers. Lincoln received a bag containing some Pokeballs, Potions, some spray bottles with the phrases "Paralyze Heal" and "Antidote" on them. They were sitting on a small stack of clothes. Misty and Raigo received similar items in their bags, excluding the clothes.
"You're giving me a new set of clothes?" Lincoln asked.
"Indeed. Those particular clothes are imported directly from the Kalos Region. They're tailor made and excel in being resistant to the elements. Normally, designer brands such as these carry a hefty price in stores, but for what you and your friends did last night, consider them a gift, curtesy of the Pokemart," the clerk replied.
"Wow, thanks. Is there somewhere I can try them on?" Lincoln asked.
"Sure thing. The changing room's right over there," the clerk replied, pointing to a nearby booth. Lincoln ducked inside, and changed out of his usual attire into his new outfit. His new outfit consisted of an orange-colored jacket with white trim, black fingerless gloves, a pair of dark brown colored jeans, a pair of black and orange sneakers, and finally an orange colored headband with a Pokeball mark on it. Once he finished changing, he stepped out.
"So, how do they look?" Lincoln asked.
"Hmm, not bad. Not bad at all," Misty commented.
"Given that they're designer clothes, of course they look awesome," Raigo added.
"Personally, I would do with just a little less orange, but it's still a good look for you," Officer Jenny commented.
"And that's not all. Check your jacket pocket," the clerk said. Lincoln then dug around in both jacket's pockets, before fishing out two grey colored USB.
"TMs? You're just giving these to me?" Lincoln asked.
"Consider it a gift from Joy and I. We know you have a Pikachu and Fearow, so those two TMs will come in handy at the Pewter City Gym," Officer Jenny replied.
"Oh, well, thank you. Might I ask what moves are on these two?" Lincoln asked.
"One is for the Iron Tail Move, while the other is for Steel Wing," Nurse Joy replied.
"I've included one TM in each of your bags, as well," the Clerk said to Misty and Raigo. The two of them fished out a blue and reddish-brown colored USB respectively, "Your TM is for the move Water Pulse, Misty. As for you, Raigo, you've been given the TM for Bulk Up."
"Wow, thanks. I've been after this TM for a while now," Misty commented.
"And Bulk Up is bound to help me out big time," Raigo commented.
"Well, I'd better be going now. Come to the riverbank on Route 2 when your ready Lincoln, and I'll help you with catching a Water Type Pokemon," Misty said, as she exited the Pokemon Center.
"I'm going to do a little sightseeing around Viridian City before I move on, so I'll meet you on Rout Two," Raigo said, as he took his leave.
"I have one final token of gratitude, Lincoln," Nurse Joy said, catching the Middle Loud's attention. She proceeded to pull out a small container that looked to be made of space age materials.
"Whoa, what is that? Kind of looks like a futuristic shoe box," Lincoln asked.
"This is a Trainer Kit. It comes with all manner of necessities that trainers will need on their journeys, including a first-aid kit, camping gear, cooking utensils, the whole nine yards," Nurse Joy explained.
"How do they fit all of that into such a small box?" Lincoln asked.
"I'm not really sure myself. They're developed by the Silph Co., so I would assume they use the same technology they use to make Pokeballs," Nurse Joy theorized.
"In any case, it should make travelling easier," Officer Jenny added.
"Well, I've learned never to say no to anything that helps make things easier. Thank you both for everything," Lincoln said, as he put the Trainer Kit into his backpack, "Uh, two more things before I head out. One, is there any hobby store here in Viridian City?" Lincoln asked.
"Oh sure, just head down the street, take the first left, and it'll be the third building on your right," Officer Jenny replied.
"Great. And two, how do I get to Pewter City from here?" Lincoln asked.
"Just head north to Route 2, then head through the Viridian Forest, and it'll be on the other side," Nurse Joy replied.
"Great. Again, thanks for everything," Lincoln said.
"Oh, one last thing!" Officer Jenny said, handing Lincoln a slip of paper. Unfolding it, Lincoln's jaw dropped. The note said "Call me, XOXO, Officer Jenny."
"Wait, you're giving me your number?!" Lincoln exclaimed.
"Yep. After all, cutie, you're pretty easy on the eyes," Officer Jenny replied.
"Hey, no fair!" Nurse Joy exclaimed, quickly writing something down, before handing another piece of paper to Lincoln.
"Wait, isn't it illegal for adults such as yourselves to be hitting on a kid like me? I mean, I get I'm an emancipated minor, but still," Lincoln questioned. Both women giggled.
"Oh, you needn't worry about that. Despite our mature looks, the two of us are only 15," Nurse Joy replied.
"Seriously? You two are only 15 and you're working as a police officer and a nurse?" Lincoln asked in disbelief.
"Well, technically, we're only interning under our mother's, the current, official Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny. We're getting in practice before we go and try to earn our official licenses as an officer and medical professional," Officer Jenny replied.
"So, you two share the same names as your Moms?" Lincoln asked.
"Yeah, as well as all of our sisters and cousins," Nurse Joy replied, showing him a picture, which had several, identical Nurse Joys.
"The same goes for my family too," Officer Jenny added, showing a similar picture of several, identical Officer Jenny's.
"Talk about family resemblance," Lincoln quietly commented.
"Yeah, we get that a lot," Nurse Joy replied.
"So, about our numbers, feel free to call us anytime, and don't hesitate to come back just to see us," Officer Jenny said, as she and Nurse Joy wrapped their arms around the white-haired boy, who blushed from feeling their massive breasts rubbing against him. It wasn't until Chansey and an orange dog Pokemon with black stripes came by and pried the two of them off.
"I swear, I can't leave you alone for five minutes!" Chansey said, hoisting Nurse Joy overhead.
"The things I have to put up with," the dog Pokemon grumbled, biting and pulling on Officer Jenny's skirt, pulling her away.
"I'll uh… keep that in mind, but for now, I got to get going," Lincoln said, before making his way to the door. It was then that Jenny noticed something.
"Are you seriously wearing a thong?" she asked. Nurse Joy immediately held down her skirt, blushing furiously. Lincoln tripped at hearing the question, but was quick to regain his composure.
Just as he was about to leave, he heard Misty screaming in a mix of disbelief and anger. He quickly rushed outside, "What's wrong?!"
"Just look at this!" Misty exclaimed, motioning to the rubble where Team Rocket had planted their explosives. Lincoln immediately saw the bike rack was underneath the rubble, "Team Rocket's bombs completely totaled my bike!" she exclaimed. And she wasn't wrong. Both Lincoln and Pikachu saw that her bike looked to be broke beyond repair, "And bikes like that are super expensive too! At a whopping 1,000,000 Pokedollars!"
"Well, maybe there's a way you can get a discount on a new bike?" Lincoln suggested.
"That's a good idea and all, but the only way I can do that is with a Bike Voucher, and those things aren't exactly easy to come across. And I would rather not borrow one of my sister's bikes – They'd never let me hear the end of it," Misty groaned.
"Well, I'm sure a voucher will turn up eventually. But until it does, what are you going to do?" Lincoln asked.
"I honestly haven't a clue," Misty groaned.
"Well, maybe if we look around the region, maybe someone will be willing to just give you a voucher," Lincoln theorized.
"Yeah, I suppose you have a point there. But are you really wanting me to travel with you?" Misty asked.
"Yeah. I want to get as many pointers about being a trainer as I can," Lincoln replied.
"Well, seeing as how I am a well-seasoned trainer, I guess I should help you out, but only as far as Cerulean City," Misty said, kind of boasting a bit.
"Right. Anyhow, before we go catch a Water Pokemon, I gotta make a quick stop into the Hobby Store. I'll meet you up by the river," Lincoln said, as he followed Officer Jenny's instructions. All the while, Misty couldn't help but wonder one thing.
"Why does he need a hobby store?"
At the Hobby Store,
It didn't take long for Lincoln to find the store, "So, why are we here?" Pikachu asked.
"I want to get some sort of pendant to put the Rainbow Wing in for safe keeping," Lincoln replied, as they entered the store. Upon entering, they were showed in confetti.
"Congratulations, young man! You're our 1,000,000th customer since we opened!" the store owner declared.
"Wow, really? What did I win?" Lincoln asked.
"You have just 30 minutes to gather as many items as you can and bring them back to the front of the store. If you can get back here within 30 minutes, whatever you grab is free of charge!" the store owner explained.
"Really? Talk about a lucky break," Lincoln commented, before realizing what he had just said, 'Talk about irony,' he thought.
"Alright, if you'll take your position, and we'll begin the countdown!" the store owner instructed the white haired Loud, "Ready, set, go!" he said, as Lincoln speed walked through the store, before he realized something.
"Uh, where can I find stuff for like lockets and stuff?" Lincoln asked.
"That would be in Aisle 7," an employee replied.
"Thanks," Lincoln replied, as he made his way to Aisle 7. Upon reaching the Aisle, he pulled out the Rainbow Wing, and held it up to each charm, "The pendant we want has to be big enough to properly hold the Rainbow Wing, while also not being too big," he said.
"How about this one?" Pikachu asked, pointing to a bronze-colored locket. Lincoln held up the Rainbow Wing to compare sizes, and found that it was a perfect match, but just barely.
"This looks good. I think it'll work," Lincoln commented, as he took the locket, and made his way back to the front of the store. He made it back to the front of the store, just in time for the timer ran out.
"Well, were you able to find what you were looking for?" the store owner asked.
"Yes. This item," Lincoln replied, showing the locket.
"Ah, a very nice item. As I said before, it's yours free of charge," the owner said.
"Thank you for this," Lincoln replied.
"You're quite welcome. And please do come again," the owner said, as Lincoln left the store. Lincoln then placed the Rainbow Wing inside the Locket.
"There, nice and safe," Lincoln said, placing the locket in his backpack, "Alright, now I've got to go meet up with Misty on Route 2. Wonder which way I can go to get there?" he wondered.
"Just leave the directions to me," Pikachu said.
"You know the way?" Lincoln asked.
"Yep. I've come through this way from Viridian Forest loads of times," Pikachu replied.
"Oh, well, in that case just point me in the right direction," Lincoln said, as they began walking.
