Kanto Gets Loud
Chapter 22: Confrontations (Part 2)
Inside the room,
"So, it was you that Lincoln battled for the Cascade Badge, Misty?" Girl Jordan asked.
"Yep. Along with my sisters, I act as a Gym Leader for the Cerulean City Gym. Though I did make him work for his victory. Despite all that, I'm still convinced that he's not being totally honest with that Volt Tail move he and Pikachu created during the battle," Misty commented, casting an annoyed glare down at Lincoln.
"Call it what you will, a win is still a win," Lincoln replied.
"So, Lincoln created a new move with his Pikachu on the fly? Is that normal?" Lisa asked.
"It's not unheard of, but it is rather unusual. I guess it's one of those 'have to see to believe' things," Brock replied.
"Well, if Gym Battles are broadcast across Kanto TV stations, then it's possible to get them on TV back home too," Lincoln replied. Lisa blinked in surprise.
"I… never realized that. That certainly is something we should look into," Lisa commented. It was then she noticed the concerned look on Lincoln's face, "Something wrong, Lincoln?"
"Lucy hasn't had much a part in this conversation. Is something wrong?" Lincoln asked.
"I'd… rather not talk about it," Lucy replied.
"Lucy, does this have to do with what happened the other night?" Rita asked. Lucy simply nodded, "Would you like me to explain on your behalf?"
"Thanks Mom, I really appreciate that," Lucy replied.
"You see, Lincoln, the other night, Lucy cleared your name about the whole Princess Pony incident, and was mocked by Lori, Luan, Junior, and the twins, and even your father showed little sympathy, and chewed her out and punished her, despite seeing that Lucy's feelings were being destroyed right in front of his eyes," Rita replied.
"Wait, Lucy really did that?" Lincoln asked in surprise.
"Is this something we should know about?" Misty asked.
"I'll explain at a later time," Lincoln replied.
"What's so wrong about reading some girly comics?" Ronnie Anne questioned.
"It's a whole thing in this family. The others think that anyone who likes Princess Pony deserves to be a laughingstock and should always be made fun of for it," Lincoln replied.
"I'm pretty sure judging someone for something they like is against the law," Clyde commented.
"You're right about that, in a way, Clyde," Lisa replied.
"But I'd say what they did BEFORE sending Lincoln to Kanto was a lot worse that something as stupid as judging someone for their interests," Ronnie Anne added.
"Ronnie, please, this is neither the appropriate time nor place for THAT to come to light," Lisa warned.
"I have to disagree, Lisa. Lincoln deserves to know the truth. After all, how can he trust you guys if you keep something as heavy as that from him?" Ronnie Anne asked.
"I'm guessing what they did was bad?" Misty asked, unaware that her own family was secretly listening in.
"Oh, believe me, Misty, 'bad' doesn't even begin to describe it," Ronnie Anne replied in a dark tone.
In the hallway,
The eyes of all the sisters widened in horror at what they were hearing, "Oh, bloody hell, Ronnie Anne knows!" Luna exclaimed.
"How did she find out?! I thought we were to keep it all under wraps?!" Luan exclaimed.
"Consequences be hanged, I'm going in there to stop her from spilling the beans! Our family's reputation is at stake, not to mention my relationship with Bobby!" Lori declared, as she twisted the doorknob, forgetting that she and the others were pressed up against the door, which, upon opening, caused them to fall inside.
"And you wanted to stop ME from doing something stupid?" Lynn snarked.
"Oh, shut up! Ronnie Anne was about to spill the beans about 'you-know-what', and we can't let that happen!" Lori ordered.
"Well, look what the cat dragged in," the sarcastic tone of Ronnie Anne's voice said, as she and the others were looking at the group.
"I'm guessing those people are your family too?" Brock asked Lincoln.
"Yep. And by the looks of it, they were eavesdropping," Lincoln replied, before turning his attention back to the family, "So, what do you guys want?"
"Uh, would you believe we're here to say hello?" Luan asked nervously, as she got up on her feet, "You're looking well."
"Also, what makes you think we were eavesdropping?" Luna asked sheepishly.
"I dunno, maybe because blondie over there pretty much admitted they were eavesdropping?" Misty remarked sarcastically, only for Lori to sneer at her.
"Stay out of this, carrot-top! And you'd quit hanging out with our brother if you know what's good for you! He's taken!" Lori declared.
"Really? By whom, exactly? Because from what I've gathered, Lincoln doesn't have any significant other in life at the moment," Misty replied.
"Well, of course he does! Lincoln, you can tell everyone here that you and Ronnie Anne are dating, right?" Lori asked, adding a threatening tone to the "right".
"Oh sure, threaten the kid. That's a good way to convince me," Misty remarked sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
"Lori, it's up to your brother to decide who he wants to date, not you or anyone else for that matter," Albert said, his tone sounding like the early stages of disapproval.
"But Pop-Pop, those two are meant to be together! Besides, my relationship with Bobby depends on their relationship!" Lori countered.
"You're really counting on two kids to keep your love life with my brother going? Talk about pathetic," Misty remarked.
"How dare you?! I won't have some carrot-topped witch like you coming into my brother's life and meddle with HIS love life!" Lori snapped, seething with rage.
"Like you have any room to talk about meddling, Lori. How many times have you and the others meddled in MY personal affairs?" Lincoln questioned.
"Lincoln, leave this to people who actually CAN comprehend the concept of romance, and butt out!" Lori barked.
"Why should I? This topic concerns me the most out of everyone here, so I should say MY two bits!" Lincoln declared.
"Go right ahead, Lincoln. Tell us how you honestly feel," Rita urged.
"Thank you, Mom. Truth be told, I honestly can't feel any sort of romantic interest in someone who would purposely shove a sloppy joe down my pants as a prank! No offense, Ronnie," Lincoln said.
"None taken," the Latin girl replied.
"No, take offence! Be offended! Your boyfriend is talking trash about you right in front of your face!" Lori yelled at Ronnie Anne.
"Lori, Lincoln's not my boyfriend! What's more, I don't even like boys that way!" Ronnie Anne declared.
"What are you saying?" Lori questioned.
"I'm saying that I like girls, and I want to date girls!" Ronnie Anne replied. Lori's only response was an uproarious laugh.
"That is so cute! The fact that you actually think a relationship between two people of the same gender is an actual thing? Hate to break it to you, but relationships between boys and girls are the only ones that can actually be considered proper relationships!" Lori declared.
"Yeah, well what about Clyde's Dads?" Stella questioned. Lori only sneered at her and Girl Jordan in disgust.
"Who are these two? More girls that Lincoln is CLEARLY cheating on you with?" she immediately accused.
"Lori, that is quite enough! Lincoln can have multiple friends who just happen to be girls, and NOT have any romantic feelings for or from them," Rita stated.
"Mom, have you really paid attention to Lincoln? What girl would purposely associate with the likes of him without having some kind of romantic feelings?" Lori questioned.
"Hmm, so going by that logic, all those other guys you hang out with besides Bobby must mean that you harbor romantic feelings for them, correct?" Rita asked, holding her hand up to her chin in a mock-thinking manner.
"It's different for me, since I'm a girl!" Lori proclaimed.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! What does being a girl have to do with special privileges?" Albert questioned.
"Well, since there's more of us than Lincoln, that means our word and opinions outweighs anything he can come up with, even if he has evidence to prove otherwise," Lori replied.
"Lori, that has to be, without a doubt, the stupidest thing I've ever heard! Do you know how sexist that sounds?" Rita questioned.
"Me, sexist? Impossible. Lincoln's as sexist as he is shallow for only hanging out with Misty because of that rack of hers. And I'm not entirely convinced that they're even real," Lori retorted.
"Hey, we won't have you bad mouthing our little sister!" the voice of Daisy said, as she, Violet, and Lily stormed up to the videophone, with their mother in tow. All four of them looked quite irate with what they heard.
"We may rip on Misty a lot, but even we don't go as far as you're going, bitch!" Violet said.
"Keep out of this, and take that carrot-topped sister of yours with you!" Lori demanded.
"Hate to break it to you, but this little guy happens to be quite the young gentleman, and has shown excellent manners towards Misty and the rest of us!" Misty's mother defended her daughters.
"'A gentleman'? More like a rotten, no good, lousy jinx if you ask me," Lynn snarled.
"Well, no one did ask you, Lynn! And Lincoln's a much better person than you or the rest of your family will ever be! After all, Lincoln is above locking people out of the house and selling their furniture for something as idiotic as bad luck! Especially over some stupid softball game!" Ronnie Anne spat. A wave of horror washed over the Louds at what Ronnie Anne had just ranted. Lincoln's eyes were widened with disbelief. However, Misty was nowhere close to being even remotely quiet as everyone there.
"You sold his furniture and locked him out of the house on the accusations of being bad luck?! What the actual hell is wrong with you people?!" Misty yelled. It was then that Lynn got an extremely cruel idea, one that she figured would get Lincoln to feeling bad like she wanted him to since he got to Kanto.
"Yep, we got rid of it all, his bed, his dresser, everything! We were also going to sell off the junk he's collected over the years, including those stupid comics of his, his action figures, and dumb spaceship models too, all so we could fund a family trip to the beach that he wasn't invited to!" she proclaimed.
"Lynn, shut up! You're making things worse!" Lori ordered.
"No, the only reason I even agreed to sending Stinkcoln to Kanto was to punish him for ruining everything in our lives with his bad luck! Instead, he's having the time of his life! This is the only way to get him to realize that this is supposed to be a punishment, not a vacation!" Lynn snapped.
"I-Is all of this true?" Lincoln asked, his voice starting to break. Pikachu, his friends, and Misty's family became genuinely concerned for the white-haired boy.
"Unfortunately, it is Lincoln. After I learned what they did, I chewed out your parents and made them not only give you the money they were going to use for that beach trip, but also move everything back into your room, and buy new furniture," Albert replied.
"Speaking of which, you're paying us back for every cent you illegally got that day, with interest!" Lynn declared.
"Lynn, that's enough!" Albert yelled, his volume causing everyone in that room to stand at attention, even Lily.
"If I may, Pop-Pop?" Lisa cautiously asked.
"You may, Lisa," Albert replied, in a calmer tone.
"Thank you. We were going to tell you in a more civil manner Lincoln, not like how Lynn just did. We were just trying to figure out a way to break the news to you with causing as little distress as possible," Lisa explained, as she and everyone glared angrily at Lynn.
"What? I was just telling the truth. Besides, it's not like I hurt anyone's feelings," she shrugged dismissively. In response, Ronnie Anne delivered a powerful punch to the face that resonated through the air. Everyone there could literally feel the punch, "Ow! What the hell was that for?!" Lynn got no response, as Ronnie Anne grabbed hold of Lynn's shirt by the collar, and reeled back her fist, ready to punch again, only to be stopped by Albert.
"What are you doing, old timer?! Didn't you hear what she just said?!"
"I did. And while I reluctantly have to agree that she did deserve that punch, mainly due to the sole fact that she's one of my granddaughters, I believe that her parents should administer the appropriate punishment," Albert explained, turning to Rita, who simply nodded.
"Indeed, I shall. Lynn Loud Jr., effective immediately, you are hereby banned from anything relating to sports. That means owning no equipment, no jerseys, no trophies, no sports channels, and no sports pages in the newspapers. On top of that, you're grounded for the next six months!" Rita stated angrily, but Lynn wasn't having any of it.
"No! I'm not taking any punishment from a traitor like you!" Lynn snapped. Everyone just gasped at what she had just said. Rita's eye was twitching with rage beyond rage, "Don't give me that look! By siding with that rotten jinx, you've betrayed the family! What I said is how this family operates!"
"No Junior, it isn't! You need to learn to respect others, and that to be respected, you have to earn it! Now, as much as I want to talk to you more, Lincoln, you'll have to excuse me. I need to go start confiscating ALL of your sister's sporting equipment. And as for you, Lori, we're going to have words about your little matchmaking with Lincoln and Ronnie Anne," Rita said, as she exited the room.
"Stay out of my room!" Lynn screamed, as she went to stop her mother, only to be stopped, as Riolu popped out of its Pokeball, and quickly delivered a powerful Thunder Punch to Lynn's gut, causing her to fall to her gut, sparks flying off.
"And stay down!" Riolu said, angry with how badly Lynn had just treated his trainer.
"Whoa, is this really…?" Lana was amazed by Riolu.
"So, the Pokemon that Professor was talking about are real?!" Luan exclaimed.
"Of course, they're real, but that's not the important issue right now!" Albert yelled, returning their attention to Lincoln, who had tears welling up in his eyes.
"Guys, I'm sorry, but… I think I need to hang up now," Lincoln said, as he dashed off.
"No, Lincoln, wait!" Myrtle called out, but her voice fell on deaf ears.
"How can any of you guys even call yourselves a family?!" Lily Waterflower yelled.
"You people are disgusting! Has your brother really done that many bad things for you to justify treating him like that?!" Misty yelled.
"Even the issues I have with my parents aren't nearly as severe as what you all did," Brock declared.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu angrily yelled.
"Who thought of it?" Misty's mother asked.
"Thought of what?" Luan asked nervously. She and the rest of her family were clearly shaken from getting yelled at.
"Who thought it was a good idea to lock him out of the house and sell his things?! Sweet Arceus, what did you think I was talking about?!" Misty's mother yelled.
"That's right! Lincoln deserves to know who was responsible for such despicable actions!" Violet declared.
"So, unless you want us telling you were ALL involved in this, we had better get an answer, NOW!" Misty demanded.
"I'd like to know too," Albert demanded, crossing his arms. The rest of the Louds looked at each other nervously, Lynn Sr.'s thoughts were on the situation that had just occurred.
'Maybe taking Junior's idea into consideration was a bad move on our part after all,' he thought. It was actually Lynn Jr.'s idea to sell off Lincoln's stuff, claiming that it would cleanse the house of Lincoln's bad luck completely. It took some doing on her part, but she was eventually able to talk everyone into it. The day after that, they had taken all of Lincoln's stuff down to the pawn shop to sell them off. If Lincoln had ever found this out, it would no doubt shatter his trust in the family even further beyond repair. Lynn Sr. couldn't let that happen, 'Well, seeing as how I should've put a stop to this, I should take the bullet for the family,' he thought.
"It was me. I suggested that we sell his belongings. Everyone, apart from myself and Junior, had nothing to do with it," he admitted.
"And what about Lincoln's friends?" Brock asked.
"I told them about what we did the other day. They had no knowledge of what we did until that point," Lisa confessed.
"I'll let Lincoln know about this development. As for the rest of you assholes, you all should be ashamed to even call yourselves a family! As far as I'm concerned, none of you have any right to even call yourselves that," Misty stated harshly.
"And as for you, Ronnie Anne, we could've done without bringing up such a touchy subject," Brock stated.
"True, but Lincoln had every right to know the truth," Ronnie Anne replied.
"Well, I can't argue with you there, but like Lisa said, you could've at least tried to phrase it in a way that wouldn't upset him so badly," Brock countered. Ronnie Anne opened her mouth to retort, but could think of nothing.
"Touche."
"Well, apart from what that moron in the jersey said, this was something of a pleasant conversation. We'll be in touch," Misty replied.
"Please take care of Lincoln for us, won't you?" Leni asked.
"You don't have to worry. He's in good hands," Misty replied, as she hung up. Once the call ended, Albert and Myrtle turned angrily at the sisters who barged in.
"Well, I certainly hope you're all proud of yourselves. Not only did you barge in unannounced, but thanks to the two of you, Lori and Junior, Lincoln's now more upset with you kids than before!" Albert scolded.
"But Pop-Pop, Ronnie Anne had a hand in this too, trying to spout off that little tidbit of information!" Lori countered, accusing Ronnie Anne.
"That may be true, but Junior had to go and make things several times worse by bragging about it, and demanding her brother be miserable in Kanto. So, I'm choosing to overlook her actions!" Albert proclaimed.
"And that's another thing I want to know, Lori. Why are you so bent on forcing Lincoln and I together? My brother would never try to force me into a relationship against my will! On top of that, since you and Bobby are dating, Lincoln and I can't possibly be in a relationship, on account of the fact that if you and Bobby do tie the knot someday, then Lincoln and I would be in-laws!" Ronnie Anne proclaimed, only to get laughed at by Lori.
"Do you really think you know that much about how romance works? You're just a kid, Ronnie Anne," Lori stated.
"Yeah, well given how old YOU are, you should know that in this day and age, arranged relationships, like the one you're trying to force me into with Lincoln, are even deader than the dinosaurs," Ronnie Anne declared. Lisa was about to point out how a statement like that is impossible, but chose against it, wanting to see how this plays out.
"Well, a relationship with you is the only one I will ever approve of Lincoln being in. If things don't work out between you two, then he's just going to have to be a spinster for the rest of his life," Lori stated.
"Yeah? Well, then I'll go and tell Bobby all about how you're being a sexist bitch to your brother!" Ronnie Anne declared. Lori didn't seem phased by this. In fact, she looked rather smug.
"Go right ahead. Who do you think he'll believe: His girlfriend, or a snot-nosed brat who knows nothing about how romance and family works?"
"You'd think you'd know by now who's side he'll take. I'm out of here!" Ronnie Anne said, as she stormed out, followed closely by the rest of the gang. Clyde was the last to leave, casting a severely disappointed look towards his former crush.
"This is an all-new low Lori, even for you," he stated, before leaving after the others.
"I think we'd best be going too. I've had more than my fill of negativity towards someone who doesn't deserve it for one day," Albert said, as he and Myrtle gave Leni, Lucy, Lisa, and Lily a hug. Lana and Lola reached out their arms, only to be ignored, as the two grandparents, as they stormed out, leaving the rest of the Loud Sisters looking forlorn. It was then that Lincoln's remaining Pokeballs that he had sent over popped open, revealing the other five, extremely angered Pokemon. Upon seeing Beedrill, Leni had just one thing to say.
"AAHH! BEE!" she screamed, as she ran out of the room, smacking her face into the walls.
Back at the Cerulean City Pokemon Center,
"Misty, listen to me. It's now more important than ever that you go with Lincoln on his journey. You need to help support him, and keep him from doing something drastic," Misty's Mother instructed.
"Uh, by drastic, you don't mean…?" Lily asked, only for her mother to nod in confirmation.
"I'll be there for him," Misty replied.
"And we'll help you out more often now," Daisy declared.
"After seeing how badly behaved his family is, it's high time we started acting like responsible older sisters," Violet commented.
"Thank you. Come on Brock, we need to go check on Lincoln," Misty said.
"Right behind you!" Brock said, as they went to their room.
"Don't forget about me!" Pikachu called, following after Lincoln's two friends.
Inside one of the Pokemon Center rooms,
Lincoln had laid out on his bed, looking completely empty in his eyes. His thoughts were racing around the bombshell that had just dropped on him, "I guess superstitions and Lynn's ego are the most important thing in that family these days," he said, as he turned over in bed, facing the wall. In his belt that was hanging off of his backpack, his team, now including Sandshrew, were looking up at their trainer, worried for him.
"I can't believe they can call themselves his family!" Bounsweet spat.
"I get that he lied, and while I also agree that lying should be punished, that was far too extreme," Sandshrew commented.
"How could they treat someone as nice as Mr. Lincoln so badly?" Ralts wondered, as she sensed how distraught he was. It was then that Misty, Brock, and Pikachu entered the room.
"Hey Lincoln, are you feeling alright?" Misty asked.
"Truthfully? Not in the slightest. Having a bomb like that dropped on me hurts, especially with how Lynn rubbed salt into the wounds," Lincoln replied, turning back over to face them, looking absolutely miserable.
"Understandable. Though I can't fathom why your sister loves a game of softball over one of her own family," Brock commented, trying to understand where Lynn's coming from.
"It's the biggest problem with athletes. They're extremely superstitious," Lincoln clarified. Just then, Misty got an idea.
"I know! How about we have a trip to Cerulean Cape?" she suggested.
"Cerulean Cape? You mean where Bill's lighthouse is at?" Lincoln asked, sitting up, a look of interest on his face.
"Oh yeah! I forgot that Bill's Lighthouse is at the Cape. Well, before we visit him, we could have a little R&R on the beach. Not to mention that this would be a great way to get back at that awful sister of yours by going to the beach when she wasn't able to go herself," Misty explained. Lincoln thought about it for a moment, and his mood instantly lightened a little bit.
"You know, that actually does sound nice. Taking a break for a while from training could be just what I needed," Lincoln replied.
"Great! We'll set out for the Cape tomorrow morning," Brock declared.
"By the way, what even was this whole luck thing about anyhow?" Misty asked. Lincoln then took a moment to explain every detail. Once he was finished, Misty let out a low whistle, "Man, you must've had some kind of a brain fart to come up with a plan like that. But, given the fact that you were made to attend all of your sister's events without so much as a moment of free time, I guess we can't fault you there."
"Yeah, the whole idea worked out a bit more efficiently in my head," Lincoln replied.
"Well, we got an early day tomorrow, so we should get some shut eye," Brock said, as he and Misty got into their own beds. Lincoln laid back down, with Pikachu nestling next to him.
Elsewhere, on Route 24,
In a secluded section of a dense forest, a lone Bulbasaur was walking through the area, looking around at everything as it moved, like it was on patrol, "Ok, looks like everything in this section is clear. Time to do one last check on my way back. I can't risk the safety of Melanie or any of the Pokemon in the village," it said, as he turned back to go back the way it came, intent on protecting it's home.
Somewhere between Routes 24 and 25,
A Charmander was sitting on top of a rock, looking all around it, as if waiting for something or someone, a look of worry etched on its face, "Where could Damian be? He's been gone for a long time," the Fire Type said, as he continued to look upward to the night sky, "I'm sure he's on his way back soon. I just have to wait it out." The Lizard Pokemon had no idea how wrong he was in the days to come, as he dozed off into slumber.
Meanwhile, in a small town somewhere on Route 25,
Overlooking the small town was a Squirtle with V-Shaped sunglasses. He was followed by some more Squirtle wearing rounded sunglasses, each holding a can of spray paint, "Alright boys, this dump of a town is ours for the taking!" the lead Squirtle declared. The underling Squirtle all cheered, as they went around, spraying graffiti over the walls, "That's the way! Show these humans that the Squirtle Squad are in charge of this stupid town!" he said, as his underlings laughed before running off with their leader behind them.
Meanwhile, in the Loud House Attic, Night time,
As night fell onto Royal Woods, Lucy was in the attic while her family slept snug in their beds. She was getting ready to cast the Karmic Misfortune Curse, "Ok, I've got everything I need, a picture of Lincoln, the salt for the spell circle, the 13 black candles, and 13 unlucky objects. If Lynn wants bad luck, then I'll gladly give it to her!" Lucy said, as she read over the spell book. She drew the spell circle with the salt, and placed the candles and objects in a pattern all around the circle. She also lit the candles as well. Finally, she placed a picture of Lincoln in the center of the spell circle. Once that was all done, she sat down in a seiza-style, looked over at the page with the spell on it, and began to recite the incantation.
"Upon the guilty, I cast this curse on thee to avenge the wronged. As you have brought misfortune on others, you too, shall know of their plight. Never again will fortune smile down upon you until you pay back your karmic dues and earn their forgiveness."
As Lucy recited the spell, the candle flames turned from orange to black, as the already dark room got even darker. A sinister aura began to emanate from the unlucky objects, 'I can't believe it! It's actually working!' she excitedly thought, as she read the last part, "May the punishments cast upon thee be what karma deems appropriate! Malus Fortuna!" the candles then burnt up completely, as a pillar of black and purple light then erupted from the spell circle. Lucy could swear that she saw a humanoid form take shape within it. Seconds later, the pillar died off, leaving only a dapper man in a fancy suit, much like a butler's suit. Lucy saw that the sclera of his eyes was pitch black, with red pupils.
"Ah, so good to finally be summoned again!" the "man" said, before looking down at Lucy, "Why, is that you, Harriet? My old friend!" he sounded happy to see Lucy.
"Uh, no. My name is Lucy. Harriet was my Great Grandmother," she clarified.
"Oh, well then, my apologies, Ms. Lucy. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Infelicis, the Demon of the Karmic Misfortune Curse," the man said.
"A real demon? The spell never mentioned this," Lucy commented, looking over the spell again.
"Yes, Harriet had the same reaction when she first summoned me. And since you've summoned me, that must mean that you have someone you want to pay back for their mistreatment of the young man in this picture?" Infelicis asked, picking up the picture of Lincoln.
"Yes. You see, my family and I made a terrible mistake regarding Lincoln, and one of our sisters, Lynn, made things worse earlier today," Lucy replied.
"I see. Well, then let me just pull up the list of who has wronged him," Infelicis said, as he pulled out a tablet device.
"You use a tablet?" Lucy asked.
"Of course. The demon realm adapts with each new century the same way you humans do," Infelicis replied, as he took a picture of Lincoln's picture, "Now lets just see who still needs his forgiveness and WHOA, that's a lot of people!" he said, surprised to see how many names were on the list.
"So, will you be able to do it?" Lucy asked.
"Of course! After all, you did summon me, and those black candles of yours were an excellent substitute for a soul, so there's no need for us to make a contract," Infelicis replied.
"Wait, so you like black candles?" Lucy asked.
"Certainly. Black candles are among the classiest things to decorate one's house with in the demon realm, but they're extremely difficult to come across. Eh, don't bother asking why, it's technical. Well, anyhow, lets get this thing started!" Infelicis said, as he conjured up a pitch-black miasma, which worked its way out of his hand, past Lucy, down the entrance to the attic, and into the bedrooms of those who were to be marked with the curse. Oddly enough, a large amount of the miasma went into Lynn and Lucy's room. After a few seconds, the miasma crept downstairs and into the parent's bedroom, intent on marking whoever was inside of it. Once it was done, it seeped out of the front door, and made its way all across town, looking for more people to mark.
"So, now I just have to wait and see the results?" Lucy asked.
"Pretty much. Anyhow, if that's all you need me to do, then I shall take my leave," Infelicis said, as he descended back into the spell circle, completely out of sight.
"Well, I guess I'll take that as my cue to get to bed," Lucy said, as she exited the attic and made her way for Lincoln's room, where Zubat and Riolu were sleeping. Despite what had happened earlier that day, Lincoln's Pokemon seemed to have bonded with his mom and three sisters, with Zubat being particularly closer to Lucy.
