Kanto Gets Loud

Chapter 64: The Battle Chateau II

The next morning, at breakfast,

As he sat with his friends, enjoying some breakfast, Lincoln was telling Brock and Misty about what all happened at the trial, "…And now, my parents are divorced, and my 'father' is no longer allowed to call himself a 'father'," he concluded.

"Sounds rough if it weren't for the fact that your father isn't the best of people," Misty commented.

"Even my Dad cares about his family, even if he and Mom don't always do the best jobs," Brock added.

"Yeah… but on the bright side, both Lori and Lynn are being taken to a psychiatric hospital to hopefully cure them of their self-absorbed behavior," Lincoln replied.

"How would anything involving those two be considered a 'bright side'?" Misty asked.

"Because, even if I did verbally disown them, a part of me still thinks that there is hope for them to better themselves. I don't know if that's how I truly feel, or if I'm being too nice," Lincoln replied. Brock and Misty exchanged glances with each other, before turning back to their companion.

"You know, being nice isn't necessarily a bad thing, but being too nice to people can give them the impression that you're a doormat, which will lead them to think they can get away with anything," Brock replied.

"That's right. If anything, you were being even nicer to both of those two by testifying against them in court, and hopefully, when they get out of that hospital, they'll be much wiser from now on," Misty added.

"Thanks guys. So, anyhow, what should we do for training for the P-1 Grand Prix tomorrow?" Lincoln asked.

"Well, with that amulet that you got from Lilianna, you and I can head back to the Battle Chateau for some heavy-duty training," Misty replied.

"Sounds like a plan. What about you, Brock? You want to join in? It may come in handy for the next time we face Team Rocket again," Lincoln offered.

"Hmm, as much as I prefer raising Pokemon rather than battling them, what you said does make some poetic sense. So yeah, I think I will join you guys," Brock replied.

"Great! And this will give me an opportunity to train with Pokemon like Treecko, Buneary and Beldum. I haven't had them on my team since I first got them," Lincoln mused, before taking a look over at his team, who were all eating their own breakfast, "Of course, since I'm entering the Grand Prix, Riolu and Mienfoo are for sure going to be my primary focus with training."

"Don't forget about me!" Misty proclaimed.

"Oh, do you have another Fighting Type Pokemon besides Meditite?" Lincoln asked.

"Yep! Take a look!" Misty replied, as she released a Poliwrath from one of her Pokeballs.

"Whoa, when did you evolve your Poliwhirl?" Lincoln asked.

"I got a Water Stone during the Maiden's Peak Festival, and I used it right away to evolve my Poliwhirl! I even took the time to teach it some new moves from TMs I bought on the St. Anne," Misty replied.

"Ok, so now there's two of us taking part in the Grand Prix," Brock commented.

"Yep, but make no mistake, I won't take it easy on you if we get paired up with one another," Lincoln said to Misty with confidence.

"Hey, don't go stealing my lines!" Misty replied with the same confidence.

"Ok, as soon as we're done with breakfast, we can head to the Battle Chateau to begin our training," Brock said, as they continued with their breakfasts.

"So, once we're done training, what should we do while we wait for tomorrow?" Misty asked.

"Well, while I was back in Royal Woods, I agreed on a date with Charlie, Vaggie, and Miu. I'll be summoning them over later tonight," Lincoln replied.

"Good to know that you're taking the time to get to know them better," Misty replied, masking a hint of jealousy in her words.

"Yeah. Maybe when we finally get to Celadon City, we can spend maybe a day or two there to take in some sights?" Lincoln suggested. Both Gym Leaders glanced at one another, before turning back to Lincoln.

"Well, there is one other reason we're also going to Celadon City besides the Gym Battle," Brock said, catching Lincoln's attention.

"Like what?" the white-haired boy asked.

"We'll explain more in private. It's a bit too confidential to be talking about this now," Misty replied. That told Lincoln that it must be super important, and that they can't risk anyone hearing about it.

"Ok," Lincoln replied.

A little later, outside the Pokemon Center,

Lincoln was waiting for Misty and Brock to finish up their shopping, "Ok, so as soon as they get all the medicine they'll probably need, we can head back to the Battle Chateau," he commented.

"Looking to increase your rank even further?" Pikachu asked.

"Well, there's that, and the money I'll get from any matches I win, but also as I said, we need to power up all of our Pokemon, not just for the P-1 Grand Prix, but also for our next bout with Team Rocket," Lincoln replied.

"Hmm, when you're right, you're right. True, we managed to chase away Team Rocket from Pokemon Tower, but that's thanks in large part to having tons of other trainers there as back up," Pikachu pointed out.

"Right, so we need to be ready, not only for when we do face Team Rocket again, but if we have to do so alone," Lincoln replied. Just then, Brock and Misty exited the Pokemon Center.

"Ok, we're all stocked up on Super Potions, Max Potions, and Full Heals," Brock commented.

"Great! Now we can get moving," Lincoln said, as he pulled out the amulet from Lilianna, and used it to open a portal to the Battle Chateau, allowing the three of them to pass through.

"My, how convenient," Misty commented.

"Yep. And it'll eliminate the use of the move Fly once I get the HM, at least for getting from place to place. Speaking of which, before I came back last night, Blitz, Moxxie and Millie also gave me some tools that'll help eliminate the need for other Hidden Moves outside of battle," Lincoln replied.

"Well, that was nice of them. But it would still be a good idea to at least try to get a hold of the HMs. You never know when you'll need them," Brock advised.

"You're right about that. Well, in any case, let's get to our training," Lincoln said, as he and his friends entered the Chateau.

"Ah, welcome back, Earl Lincoln, Marquis Brock, and Marchioness Misty," Duke Archibald greeted.

"Hold on… 'Marquis'? 'Marchioness'?" Lincoln questioned.

"What, we never told you? Misty and I have both been training at the Battle Chateau for a long time now to keep our skills as Gym Leaders up to date," Brock replied.

"In fact, both Brock and I are just a few wins away from being promoted to Duke and Duchess Ranks," Misty added.

"Man, looks like I've got tons of catching up to do," Lincoln sighed in exasperation. Just then, a thought came over him, "Hang on, do the other Gym Leaders around Kanto frequent the Chateau too?"

"Of course. In fact, Duchesses Natalie and Kate, along with Dukes Matthew and Lieutenant Surge are also here training up their Pokemon as well," Duke Archibald replied.

"Well, it'll be nice seeing them again," Misty commented, as they followed Duke Archibald through the halls. They soon arrived at the battlefield, where they saw both Natalie and Surge battling it out. Natalie was using a Dragonite, while Surge had a large, yellow gorilla like Pokemon with two tails that looked like wires.

"Whoa, who's that Pokemon?" Lincoln wondered, pointing his Pokedex at Surge's Pokemon.

"Electivire, the Thunderbolt Pokemon, an Electric Type, and the evolved form of Electabuzz. A single Electivire can produce enough electricity for all the buildings of a big city for a year. The amount of electrical energy it produces is proportional to its pulse. The voltage jumps when it's battling," Dexter explained.

"Huh… that could eliminate the need for a lot of electrical power at my house and all of Royal Woods," Lincoln mused, as the two began battling.

"Dragonite, use Dragon Dance, then into Dragon Claw!" Natalie called out. Dragonite first used Dragon Dance to power up, and then swooped down at Electivire, slashing at it with tremendous power.

"You can take that, Electivire! Use Electric Terrain!" Surge called out. Electivire then began to electrify the entire battlefield, "Alright, now use Discharge!" Electivire then fired off a wild electrical discharge, striking Dragonite.

"Not bad… too bad for you that Dragonite is resistant to Electric Type Moves," Natalie commented.

"I figured you'd say that. Fortunately, Electivire is equipped with more than just Electric Type Moves! Now, use Rock Slide!" Surge called. Electivire then summoned large boulders which it then hurled at Dragonite.

"Quick, use Dragon Pulse and smash every one of them!" Natalie called. Dragonite then fired off a multi-colored beam of draconic energy, obliterating every boulder Electivire hurled its way. When the dust cleared, Electivire was seen right in front of Dragonite, "When did…?!"

"Now, use Dual Chop!" Electivire's arms began glowing cyan, as it struck Dragonite twice, sending it down to defeat.

"Dragonite is unable to battle! The winner is Electivire, and therefore, the victor is Duke Lieutenant Surge!" the referee proclaimed.

"Nicely done as always, Electivire!" Surge praised, as he recalled the Thunderbolt Pokemon.

"You were fantastic as well, dear Dragonite. Take a well-earned rest," Natalie said, as she recalled her Dragonite, "I wasn't expecting Dual Chop."

"I had Electivire and my Electabuzz learn it in case we ever face of against any Dragon Type Pokemon," Surge replied, as Natalie stood up, causing her massive breasts to bounce.

"Just don't go getting a swollen head just because of that. It's that kind of overconfidence that can get you in the end," Natalie warned.

"Eh, I've got plenty of drills for my Pokemon to keep in shape," Surge replied, before he noticed a familiar whitehaired boy, "Well, look at that! You're definitely a sight for sore eyes," he said, as Lincoln and company walked up to the battlefield.

"Hello Lincoln. I trust you've been well since last we've seen on another?" Natalie greeted.

"Yep. We've been on the road for quite a while since we were in Porta Vista," Lincoln replied.

"Lincoln has already managed to win his fifth badge at the Maiden's Peak Gym," Misty added. Surge let out a whistle.

"That's quite the accomplishment. Yurei's one of the toughest Gym Leaders in Kanto. Sure, she's not in the Big Four, but she is still up there in terms of ranking," he commented.

"Well, Yurei didn't exactly make it easy on us either. I really had to work for that badge," Lincoln replied.

"Well, the point is, you managed to get a badge from there, and that's all that counts," Natalie replied. Just then, a pair of gloves were hurled at Lincoln.

"Hmm? Gloves?" Lincoln questioned, as he turned to the source of the throw. He found that it was a short, teen boy with a very creepy smile. He had light blue hair in a bowl cut, large, round yellow glasses, and was wearing a green shirt with a bug motif and army green shorts. Next to him was another teen boy with mess brown hair, covered by a red beanie. He wore a green, long sleeved shirt and beige vest, and long, tan pants.

"I've been wanting to battle you for quite some time, Lincoln Loud," the boy stated.

"You should accept the kid's challenge, Private. After all, he did throw down the gauntlet," Surge advised.

"Really? Well, in that case, I accept your challenge! As you just said, I'm Lincoln Loud from Royal Woods. My current rank is an Earl. What about you?" Lincoln asked.

"You may refer to me as Weevil Underwood, Bug Pokemon Trainer Extraordinaire, as well as an Earl myself!" the boy proclaimed in a boastful manner.

"And I'm also an Earl in the Battle Chateau! I'm Rex Raptor, and I specialize in Fossil Pokemon, as well as Pokemon that use bones, or are tied in with ancient artifacts!" the other boy added. Nearby, Kate shuddered upon seeing the boy.

"Ick, its that creepy Weevil kid again!" she shuddered.

"Don't worry, Kate. He wouldn't think of doing anything to you in a room with so many people. The same goes for that Rex guy," Matthew reassured his sister.

"Be careful with these two, Lincoln. Weevil tends to use tactics that can be considered underhanded but are still legit. And Rex likes to overpower his opponent as much as he can," Natalie warned.

"I'll keep that in mind," Lincoln replied, as both he and Weevil took their places on the battlefield.

"Attention everyone! The battle between Earl Lincoln Loud of Royal Woods, Michigan, and Earl Weevil Underwood from Castelia City in the Unova region will now get underway! Both trainers may use only two Pokemon, and the battle will continue until both of either side's Pokemon cannot continue! Substitutions may be made at anytime during the match! And one more thing, Earl Weevil is but one victory away from being promoted to Marquis!" the referee declared.

"Looks like I've got my work cut out for me with this one," Lincoln commented, as he readied his first Pokeball.

"Lets see how well you do against my army of powerful Bug Pokemon!" Weevil taunted, holding his first Pokeball.

"Trainers, choose your Pokemon!" the referee requested.

"Dustox, you're up!" Weevil proclaimed, sending out a purple moth Pokemon with large, green wings.

"Who's that Pokemon?" Lincoln wondered, as he scanned it.

"Dustox, the Poison Moth Pokemon, a Bug and Poison Type. When Dustox flaps its wings, it releases a fine dust all over. This dust is actually a powerful poison that can make even a pro wrestler sick. This primarily nocturnal Pokemon searches for food by using its antennae like radar," Dexter explained.

"Got to watch out for that dust… in that case, Inferna, you're up!" Lincoln said, sending out Inferna.

"My, how predictable that you would use a Fire Pokemon against me and my Bug Pokemon," Weevil cackled.

"Don't get why you're laughing. Bug Pokemon are weak against Fire Types," Lincoln retorted.

"Alright, Dustox VS Charmeleon, battle BEGIN!" the referee declared.

"Alright Inferna, let's start off strong with Fire Fang!" Lincoln called out.

"You got it!" Inferna replied, as she charged at Dustox with her fangs engulfed in flames.

"Dustox, use U-Turn," Weevil ordered. Dustox charged right at Inferna, striking her in the chest, before quickly retreating back to it's Pokeball, and was replaced with a butterfly like Pokemon with pure white wings.

"Huh? Alright, who's that Pokemon?" Lincoln wondered as he scanned it.

"Vivillon, the Scale Pokemon, a Bug and Flying Type. Vivillon's wings come in many different patterns that are affected from different climates. It scatters colorful scales," Dexter explained.

"Another Bug Pokemon… Well, even if it's different, a Bug Type is still a Bug Type! Inferna, use Flamethrower!" Lincoln called out. Inferna then fired off a powerful stream of fire right at Vivillon.

"Use Protect!" Weevil ordered. Vivillon surrounded itself with the green barrier of Protect, defending itself from Flamethrower, "Now, use Powder!" Vivillon then scattered a strange, black power all over Inferna.

"Heh, doesn't look like that did anything… Inferna, use Flamethrower once again!" Lincoln called out. However, as soon as Inferna was about to fire Flamethrower, something caused an explosion, causing Inferna to stop the attack, "What the…?! What was that?!"

"Information: Powder: A Bug Type Move that scatters a powder on the opponent. Should the opponent use a Fire Type Move, Powder explodes, canceling out the attack, and damages the opponent," Dexter explained.

"That's right! It's how I was able to win a Volcano Badge from the Cinnabar Island Gym. And you dare to own a Pokedex without knowing that?" Weevil cackled.

"That little creep! He shut down Lincoln's major advantage over him!" Misty complained.

"But Powder is a legitimate move, not to mention a smart move on Weevil's part. Now Lincoln's going to have to find a way to deal super effective damage without any Fire Type Moves," Brock replied.

"Alright, Fire Type Moves might not work, but thankfully, Inferna has more than Fire Type Moves in her repertoire! Inferna, use Rock Tomb!" Lincoln called out.

"Already on it!" Inferna replied, as she then hurled large rocks at Vivillon.

"Vivillon, Protect!" Weevil called out. Vivillon once again formed Protect, blocking Rock Tomb, "Now, before they have a change to use any Fire Attacks, use Powder!"

"I don't think so! Inferna, Dig to Dodge!" Lincoln called out. Inferna quickly burrowed underground, just as Powder was scattered across her side of the field.

"Hmm, impressive thinking on the kid's part. Even if Dig won't affect Vivillon, it still kept his Charmeleon from getting doused in that Powder again," Lt. Surge commented.

"Alright, in that case, we'll just have to land a big attack! Vivillon, use Quiver Dance, then aim Psybeam where Charmeleon is going to pop out from!" Weevil ordered. Vivillon then began to flutter around in the air, as if it was dancing, and it glowed red, signifying a power up.

"What's Quiver Dance?" Lincoln wondered.

"Information: Quiver Dance: A Bug Type Move that increases the user's Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed Stats by performing a beautiful, mystical dance," Dexter explained.

"That means that Psybeam will be all the more powerful when it hits!" Lincoln exclaimed, when he got an idea, "But a strong attack is useless if it doesn't make contact! Inferna, when you resurface, use Smokescreen!" with that, Inferna erupted from the ground, and began letting off a thick cloud of smoke. Vivillon became disoriented by the sudden cloud of smoke.

"Vivillon, never mind the Smokescreen and just fire Psybeam!" Weevil ordered. Vivillon fired off Psybeam into the smoke cloud, "Did we get it?"

"Use Thunder Punch!" Inferna then erupted from the Smokescreen, and punched Vivillon with Thunder Punch.

"Alright! Since Vivillon's a Flying Type, Thunder Punch was super effective!" Misty commented, as sparks were flying off of Vivillon.

"Not only that, it looks paralyzed," Natalie commented.

"Alright Inferna, now's the time! Use Flamethrower!" Lincoln called out. Inferna then blasted Vivillon with Flamethrower, sending the Scale Pokemon down to defeat.

"Vivillon is unable to battle! The winner is Charmeleon!" the referee declared, as Weevil recalled Vivillon.

"Heh, not a bad play, but Dustox won't be as easy to defeat!" Weevil proclaimed, as he sent Dustox back out.

"Inferna, you want to switch out?" Lincoln offered.

"If you wouldn't mind terribly," Inferna replied. Lincoln nodded, and recalled Inferna.

"Alright, for my next Pokemon, go Mienfoo!" Lincoln called, sending out the Martial Arts Pokemon.

"He's sending a Fighting Type against a Bug and Poison Type?!" Kate exclaimed.

"True that Dustox is resistant to Fighting Type moves, but Lincoln's taught Mienfoo a bunch of different moves," Misty replied.

"Dustox, use Quiver Dance, then Silver Wind!" Weevil ordered. Dustox then performed Quiver Dance, powering up in the process. Then, it began flapping it's wings, firing off a wind with silvery scales at Mienfoo.

"Quick Mienfoo! Use Calm Mind, then into Swift!" Lincoln called out. Mienfoo then clapped her paws together, surrounded by a blue energy. She then began glowing red.

"I won't let you! Dustox, use Flash!" Dustox then let off a blinding bright light. Everyone in the room shielded their eyes.

"What's with this?! Does this guy like playing dirty or something?!" Lincoln yelled.

"You've got it wrong, Lincoln! Weevil's using his moves in a perfectly legitimate way!" Brock called out.

"Tsk, guess it can't be helped! Mienfoo, try to fire off Swift once more!" Lincoln called out.

"Ok!" Mienfoo called back, as she then fired off Swift.

"Heh, you think Swift will do anything after you've been…" Weevil cut himself off when the Swift homed in on Dustox, striking the Poison Moth Pokemon, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY PRECIOUS BUG?!"

"Don't you know? Swift is one of many moves that are a guaranteed hit, no matter how high your evasiveness is, or how low our accuracy is!" Lincoln explained.

"Grr, you really do like testing my patience! Dustox, use Toxic!" Weevil ordered. Dustox then fired a ball of sludge right at Mienfoo, leaving the Martial Arts Pokemon badly poisoned, "Heh, now where's all that bravado now? Dustox, use Venoshock!" Dustox then fired off Venoshock.

"Not good! Mienfoo, use Dig to get away!" Lincoln called. Mienfoo then began burrowing underground, narrowly avoiding Venoshock, "This may be a bit cowardly, but we've got no other choice now! Mienfoo, use Swift while in that hole!" from inside the holes, several stars from Swift began flying out and homing in on Dustox, damaging the Poison Moth Pokemon even further.

"Tsk, using Swift really throws a wrench into my strategy! Alright Dustox, use Light Screen!" Weevil growled, as Dustox formed a yellow barrier around itself.

"Be careful, Lincoln! Light Screen reduces damage dealt by Special Attacks!" Brock warned, as Mienfoo resurfaced, panting tiredly from the Poison.

"Mienfoo, switch out!" Lincoln said, recalling Mienfoo, "Alright, Inferna, one more time!" he exclaimed, sending Inferna out once again.

"Ah, so the lizard's back for more! This will be over in a jiffy! Dustox, use Toxic again!" Weevil ordered, as Dustox fired off Toxic.

"Protect!" Inferna then formed Protect, blocking Toxic, "Alright, now, charge in and use Fire Fang!" Inferna once again ignited her fangs, and charged right at Dustox.

"Dustox, don't let it get closer! Use Psybeam!" Weevil ordered. Dustox fired off Psybeam, only for Inferna to skillfully dodge, and then she bit down hard on Dustox, causing an explosion and knocking out the Poison Moth Pokemon.

"Dustox is unable to battle, the winner is Charmeleon! Therefore, this victory goes to Earl Lincoln Loud!" the referee declared.

"Alright!" Lincoln cheered, as Inferna ran over to hug her trainer, "You and Mienfoo did great out there!" Lincoln said, as he let Mienfoo out of her Pokeball, "Hang on, I have some Antidote in my bag," he said, rummaging through his bag. Meanwhile, Weevil stood there in disbelief.

"This… this can't be! How could my perfect strategy for dealing with Fire Pokemon backfire so badly?!" Weevil exclaimed, as Lincoln finished treating both of his Pokemon.

"That's the thing, Weevil; There is no perfect strategy. You need to be flexible and adaptable in battle, even when you have a well thought out plan," Lincoln replied.

"Grr, I don't need advice from you!" Weevil snapped, recalling Dustox.

"Alright, now it's my turn!" Rex said, as he stepped up.

"The two of you did great out there. Why don't you take a breather for now?" Lincoln suggested to both of his Pokemon.

"Sounds good to me," Inferna replied.

"I must reflect on my near loss," Mienfoo replied. With that, Lincoln recalled both back to their Pokeballs. He then turned to face Rex.

"Continuing the battles, we now have Earl Rex Raptor, of Oreburgh City, who will now face Earl Lincoln Loud! The rules are the same as before; two Pokemon per trainer, two knockouts are needed to win! Substitutions may be made at any time during the match! Furthermore, much like Earl Weevil, Earl Rex is only one victory away from being promoted to the noble title of Marquis! Now then, trainers, choose your Pokemon!" the referee declared.

"Get ready for some Jurassic mayhem! Go, Tyrantrum!" Rex exclaimed, as he sent out a large, red T-Rex like Pokemon with powerful looking jaws, and a collar that looked to be white fur.

"Whoa, is that an actual T-Rex?!" Lincoln exclaimed, as he scanned the Pokemon.

"Tyrantrum, the Despot Pokemon, a Rock and Dragon Type. Thanks to its gargantuan jaws, which can shred thick metal sheets as if they were paper, this Pokemon was invincible in the ancient world where it ruled. Since nothing could stop it, it behaved like a king," Dexter explained.

"Whoa, got to watch out for those jaws… Better got with a mix of speed and power… Go, Riolu!" Lincoln said, sending out Riolu.

"Oh wow, this one looks really strong! Yep, really, really strong!" Riolu commented.

"Watch it's jaws, Riolu!" Lincoln called out.

"Alright, the battle of Riolu VS Tyrantrum! Begin!" the referee declared.

"The first strike leads to victory! Riolu, use Vacuum Wave!" Lincoln called. Riolu then fired off Vacuum Wave.

"Block it with Dragon Tail!" Rex ordered. Tyrantrum's tail began glowing cyan, as it swung it around, smacking away Vacuum Wave, "Alright, now give them a taste of your Crunch!" Tyrantrum then charged straight at Riolu.

"Head's up, Riolu! Use Force Palm!" Lincoln called out. Riolu then charged at Tyrantrum, avoiding the Crunch attack, and using Force Palm right into the Despot Pokemon's chest, sending it back.

"Since Tyrantrum's a Rock Type, Force Palm was a good choice," Misty commented.

"Don't just take that, Tyrantrum! Use Dragon Claw!" Rex ordered. Tyrantrum then began slashing at Riolu with Dragon Claw.

"Counter that!" Lincoln called out. Riolu allowed one Dragon Claw to make contact, before unleashing Counter, dealing double the damage it took, and sending Tyrantrum down to defeat.

"Tyrantrum is unable to battle, the winner is Riolu!" the referee decreed, as Rex recalled Tyrantrum.

"Lucky break! Lets see you deal with this!" Rex said, sending out what appeared to be a large vulture like Pokemon, with brownish grey feathers around its body, and a bone in its plumage.

"Whoa, now that's an interesting Pokemon!" Lincoln exclaimed, as he scanned it.

"Mandibuzz, the Bone Vulture Pokemon, a Dark and Flying Type. Watching from the sky, they look out for and attack any weakened prey on the ground. They have a habit of adorning themselves with bones," Dexter explained.

"This could be trouble. Mandibuzz is a Flying Type, which isn't good for a Fighting Type like Riolu," Brock commented.

"Riolu, take a break!" Lincoln called Riolu back to its Pokeball, "As for my next Pokemon, Dragonair!" he then sent out Dragonair.

"Well, look at that! The kid's got himself a Dragonair!" Lt. Surge commented, sounding impressed.

"Alright Dragonair, we need to land a quick and decisive hit! Use Thunderbolt!" Lincoln called out. Dragonair then fired off Thunderbolt.

"Mandibuzz, dodge using Acrobatics!" Rex ordered. Mandibuzz then began glowing light blue, and deftly evaded Thunderbolt before slamming into Dragonair, "Alright! Now use Bone Rush!" Mandibuzz then formed a bone with it's talons, and began to swing it at Dragonair.

"Dragonair, use Dragon Dance to dodge!" Lincoln called out. Dragonair began using Dragon Dance, dodging Bone Rush as it squirmed around Mandibuzz, while also powering up simultaneously, "Ok, now use Iron Tail!" Dragonair then landed a powerful Iron Tail, smacking Mandibuzz away.

"Alright Mandibuzz, let's try to finish this in one move! Use Sky Attack!" Rex ordered. Mandibuzz then became surrounded in a harsh light.

"Watch your back, Lincoln! Sky Attack is one of the strongest Flying Type moves there is!" Brock warned.

"If that's the case, we need to try and finish this before they land the attack! Dragonair, use Thunderbolt!" Lincoln called out. Dragonair fired off Thunderbolt, this time striking Mandibuzz, who was still able to keep moving, despite taking massive damage.

"Alright, let it rip, Mandibuzz!" Rex called. Mandibuzz then began flying directly at Dragonair.

"Quick, use Ice Beam to try and slow it down!" Lincoln called. Dragonair fired Ice Beam, striking Mandibuzz head on. The Ice Beam didn't stop Sky Attack, but it was enough to soften the impact, thus lessening the damage Dragonair took.

"Not too shabby. You may actually prove to be another worthwhile rival," Rex commented.

"Comment agreed," Lincoln replied.

"Mandibuzz, use Dark Pulse!" Rex ordered. Mandibuzz fired off Dark Pulse, striking Dragonair, who tanked the attack as best it could. Dragonair was barely able to stay standing.

"It's now or never, Dragonair! Put everything you've got into this last attack! Thunderbolt!" Lincoln called. Dragonair once again fired off Thunderbolt, this time, striking Mandibuzz, sending the Bone Vulture Pokemon down to defeat.

"Mandibuzz is unable to battle, the winner is Dragonair, therefore, the victor is Earl Lincoln Loud!" the referee decreed.

"Alright, we won!" Lincoln cheered, as he went to embrace Dragonair.

"I hope that was acceptable battling?" Dragonair asked, panting a little bit.

"It was better than acceptable!" Lincoln replied, as he let Riolu out of his Pokeball as well, "Lets keep training like this!"

"I'm looking forward to it!" Riolu exclaimed.

"As am I," Dragonair added, as Lincoln began treating the two of them.

"Earl Lincoln, with these two victories, your remaining victories until your promotion to Marquis has decreased to six," Duchess Winnifred informed.

"Thank you for letting me know," Lincoln replied, as he recalled both of his Pokemon, and went over to where his friends were at.

"That was some impressive battling you did, Private," Lt. Surge commented.

"Thanks. But Weevil and Rex definitely didn't make it easy for me," Lincoln replied.

"Weevil's tactics are a bit sneaky and underhanded, but he knows he can't cheat during a battle, otherwise he'll be disqualified as a trainer. And Rex's straightforward style of battling makes him a formidable opponent," Natalie pointed out.

"Yeah, I definitely experienced both of those things firsthand," Lincoln replied, as he sat down.

"Well, how about Misty? Shall we begin our battling?" Brock asked.

"You bet!" Misty replied, as the two of them took their places on the battlefield.

"Moving on, our next bout shall be between Marquis Brock and Marchioness Misty! Both trainers may use two Pokemon each, and the battle will be over when both of either side's Pokemon are unable to continue! Now then, trainers, choose your Pokemon!" the referee requested.

"For my first move, I'll go with Bagon!" Brock said, sending out Bagon.

"Bagon first, huh? In that case, I'm going with Meditite!" Misty exclaimed, sending out Meditite.

"Alright, battle begin!" the referee declared. As the battling began, Lt. Surge took the opportunity to talk to Lincoln.

"So, tell me, Private, how're things with your family? I know you've been having some kind of trouble with them during our first bout at my Gym," he asked. The three Porta Vista Gym Leaders looked surprised to hear this.

"Well, things back home are… hectic, to say the least," Lincoln replied.

"In what way?" Lt. Surge asked.

"Well, my family was recently put on trial for… doing something really stupid, which ended up with my former father not only getting sent to prison for the next few years, but also getting divorced from my mother. Not to mention two of my sisters had to be admitted to a mental hospital because of their egos," Lincoln explained.

"Yeesh, I'd say 'hectic' doesn't even begin to do any of that justice," Lt. Surge winced.

"By the way, what did you mean by 'former father'?" Matthew asked.

"After a recent altercation between him and me, I wound up disowning him. And even if I didn't, part of his sentence states that he can't legally be my father anymore, or a father period," Lincoln replied.

"Sorry to hear things are that bad back at your home, Lincoln," Kate replied.

"Don't be. My former father was a spineless wimp who always favored my sisters over me. Sometimes he'd disregard what I'd say just because all of my sisters say the opposite of what I am saying. He even stated that he was ashamed of having me for a son, just because I didn't like sports," Lincoln replied.

"Ok, that's just straight up bullshit! A good parent would accept their child just the way they are!" Lt. Surge boomed.

"Oh, don't even get me started. Luckily, his bad parenting finally caught up to him, and he got what was coming to him," Lincoln replied.

"Glad to hear it," Natalie replied, sounding disgusted at hearing about Lynn Sr.'s horrible parenting skills.

"I just wonder how he's adjusting to prison life. For that matter, I wonder how the two sisters are adjusting to the sanitorium," Lincoln pondered.

Meanwhile, at the Royal Woods State Prison,

A bus full of prisoners had just arrived inside the prison grounds. When the bus came to a stop, the guards ushered out each prisoner, each of whom looked meaner and tougher than the one before. With one exception, that being the former father of the Loud House, Lynn Loud Sr., who was shaking like a leaf upon seeing the prison, "Keep it moving, deadweight!" one of the guards yelled, shoving Lynn along. Soon, it was his turn to get checked into the prison.

"Alright, Lynn Loud Sr., arrested on counts of child abandonment, abuse, endangerment, neglect, theft, and contempt of court… Heh, too bad being a sucky excuse for a human being isn't a punishable offence!" the guard at the counter said, as Lynn was forcibly moved along. He soon arrived at a station with a table, where he was patted down. The guards took away ever item he had on him, his phone, wallet, keys, etc. He was then given an orange prison jumpsuit, which he then put on, before moving on to the mugshot station. The guards there took his pictures, before finally ushering him to his cell.

"Alright, Lynn Loud Sr., Prisoner Number 31298, this will be your cell for the duration of your sentence," the guard said, as he shoved the disgraced former father inside.

"What did I actually do to deserve any of this?" Lynn asked himself, as he turned to head over to his bed. It was then he realized he wasn't alone. Inside, there were three other inmates as well, each of them looking particularly nasty.

"So, you're the guy?" one of the inmates questioned. He was a very muscular, tan skinned man with a black mohawk, beard and moustache. His jumpsuit had the sleeves torn off, revealing several tattoos.

"Heh, you don't look like you could hurt a fly!" the second inmate scoffed. He was another muscular man with red hair. Unlike the first guy, his jumpsuit was still intact.

"I bet that flies would actually be the ones to hurt him," the third, and dumbest looking of the inmates commented. He was completely bald, and had a spacey look in his eyes.

"Alright newbie, who are you, and what are you in for?" the first guy asked.

"I'd… rather not say," Lynn replied.

"I wasn't asking," the first guy said, taking Lynn by the collar of his jumpsuit.

"Hang on a minute, Huck… maybe we should try easing him in by telling him what we're in for," the second man suggested. The first man, named Huck, dropped Lynn to the ground.

"Very well, Darren. I'll go first. I got busted after pulling off some heists, as well as some drug trafficking," Huck said, crossing his arms.

"My offences come in the form of arson, and violation of a restraining order," Darren continued.

"Tim, you're up!" Huck said to the third guy.

"Duh, I got in trouble for trespassing and stalking," the third, dumbest of the inmates, said.

"And you, newbie? Did you get busted for something worse than us?" Huck asked.

"S-sort of… me and my family kind of locked out my own son from the house because he lied about being bad luck, and we refused to let him back in, as well as selling his furniture," Lynn Sr. replied.

"Well that doesn't sound too bad, apart from the bit about his furniture," Darren commented.

"Yeah, if the guy wanted to move out, just tell him it's ok to do so," Huck added.

"Well, the thing is, we couldn't just tell him to move out. My son is only 12," Lynn replied. The three inmates were shocked to hear this.

"You intentionally kicked out your son for some superstition?!" Huck exclaimed, sounding enraged by this.

"Well, to be fair, his ten sisters were all saying the same thing, so it had to be true. Plus, bad things seemed to happen whenever he was around. But it wasn't until recently that we learned that he was fibbing about the whole thing," Lynn replied feebly.

"But what possessed you to side with your daughters?! On that note, HOW THE HELL DO YOU HANDLE HAVING 10 DAUGHTERS?!" Darren yelled.

"My ex-wife and I wanted a big family. As for why I sided with my daughters, it's just because my son was a complete failure. He had no athletic talent or interest in sports! He'd rather pick up some comics or a video game controller than do something manly, like football or baseball," Lynn explained. Huck then slammed Lynn against the wall.

"I have a 7-year-old son of my own, and he's no athlete! He downright hates sports, and that's alright! He's well on his way to getting into a good college, and he's there on an academic scholarship! And you know something? I love my boy just the way he is, whether he likes sports or not, because that's what a GOOD father does!" he ranted.

"I agree. If anyone deserves to be here in this prison, it's people like you!" Darren added, sounding equally as disgusted as Huck.

"Fellas, please listen, I…" Lynn didn't get a chance to speak, as he was tossed to the floor.

"Don't bother! You're a disgrace as a father AND as a person! Don't even think of taking a bunk for yourself!" Huck yelled, as he and the others landed some serious hits against Lynn, leaving the former father of 11 writhing in pain. The other three inmates returned to doing what they were doing before.

'I sure hope Lori and Junior are faring better than I am,' he thought pitifully.

Meanwhile, at Fountain Heights Psychiatric Sanitorium, *thunder and lightning*

A paddy wagon was driving on up to what appeared to be an abandoned castle, surrounded by a dead forest, with a heavy rainfall pouring. Inside the paddy wagon, Lori and Lynn were shackled and restrained to dollies, with mouth shields over their faces. They dreaded going anywhere near their destination; the most feared mental hospital in the world. But during the entire ride over, they were still convinced that it was all their brother's fault for getting them into this mess, "I swear, when I get out of here, the punishments I listed off for Stinkcoln are getting doubled! No, make that tripled!" Lynn grumbled.

"Get in line, Lynn. Since I'm the oldest, I get first dibs at giving that little geeky twerp what's coming to him! It's what he gets for screwing up everything!" Lori argued.

"But I'm the one who's been suffering the most because of that little pissant! He ruined my sports career, got my team banned for the next three years, and got me canned from playing softball ever again!" Lynn argued.

"Oh, right, I completely forgot how much more important softball, or any sport for that matter, is compared to other things, like MY love life!" Lori sarcastically remarked, just as the truck came to a full stop. The doors opened, revealing a pair of orderlies.

"These two the new patients?" one of the orderlies asked in a Slavic accent.

"Yes. Here are their forms," the driver of the truck replied, handing off a clipboard to the orderly. The orderly looked over the forms, a vindictive look working its way onto his face.

"Ooh, it's the Sanitorium's favorite type of patients! Egotistical, overentitled brats in need of a reality check!" the orderly said, as he and his partner entered the truck, and began to wheel out both sisters. Lori and Lynn looked up to see the sanitorium, and shuddered. It was even more frightful than they had originally thought, and the two orderlies wheeled them inside, where a mad scientist looking doctor was waiting.

"Ah, our two newest patients. Judge Bryand told me all about you two," the doctor replied.

"Like how getting sent here was all because of that little pissant of a brother of ours who's responsible?" Lynn asked. The doctor cackled wickedly, as thunder and lightning crashed.

"No, he told me that the two of you were out of control monsters who would think nothing of destroying public property, and attempting to assault someone who is NOT the cause of getting you sent here," the doctor replied condescendingly.

"Say whatever you want, it doesn't change the fact that we KNOW we're right about that little bastard runt, Stinkcoln, and there's nothing you or anyone else can do to change our minds!" Lori yelled. Once again, the doctor cackled wildly.

"Oh, Ms. Loud, you and your sister are NOT the first ones to have said something similar to that upon coming here, and I doubt you'll be the last. Many patients have come here with similar mindsets such as yours, ALL have left without said mindsets," the doctor cackled.

"Then allow us to be the first ones to do so, more specifically, ME! Anything other than first place is a sin as far as Lynn Loud Jr. is concerned!" Lynn yelled. The doctor could only smirk.

"Well, we'll just see how long you'll be able to keep that bravado up. Our procedures are bound to break both of you," he replied, nodding to the orderlies, who wheeled off both sisters in opposite directions. All the while, the doctor could only smirk and chuckle, "These two are bound to be no challenge for us."

Meanwhile, back at the Battle Chateau, evening,

"Ok, that should just about do it with the training for now," Lincoln commented, as he and his companions exited the Battle Chateau.

"We should be set not only for the P-1 Grand Prix, but also for our next encounter with Team Rocket," Misty added.

"And it does help that a lot of our Pokemon were able to evolve during the training," Brock added. And he was right; during their time at the Battle Chateau, not only did they raise their Pokemon's levels by a great margin, but a majority of their Pokemon have also managed to evolve.

For Lincoln's Pokemon, several of his have managed to evolve into their next stages, with all of his Wonder Traded Pokemon leveling up much faster. First up was Treecko. Despite having not battled with Treecko on his team since he got it, Lincoln kept it on his team for the duration of the training until it was strong enough to tussle with some of the other trainer's Pokemon, eventually evolving into a large, darker green gecko like Pokemon with a long leaf protruding from its head, and three leaves on each of its wrists. This Pokemon was called Grovyle.

Next was Beldum, who, much like Grovyle, was able to evolve after being kept in Lincoln's party long enough to become strong enough to take on other trainer's Pokemon. It evolved into a Pokemon called "Metang", which had a more, disk-shaped body with a large, white spike, giving it the appearance of a nose, while growing a pair of arms that each looked like Beldum.

Goomy was also one of the lucky Pokemon to have evolved, becoming a Sliggoo in the process, as well as Cleffa, becoming another Clefairy. That being said, there also a lot of Lincoln's Pokemon, such as Aizami, Inferna, Raphael, and Skyera, who still hadn't evolved yet. Lincoln figured that it wasn't time for them to evolve just yet, and elected NOT to rush it, feeling that it should be up to his Pokemon when to evolve or not. And unsurprisingly to Lincoln, Selena refused to train up with the others, still not wanting to respect Lincoln. Lincoln also had Cubone in his party for some of the training as well, to give the baby Ground Type some battle experience.

That's not to say that Brock and Misty didn't take the opportunity to evolve their own Pokemon as well. In Misty's case, Pokemon like Dewpider, Buizel, Squirtle, and Piplup were all able to evolve. Dewpider became a large, spider like Pokemon with a big water bubble around it's head. Buizel became a larger, orange weasel like Pokemon, this time with it's flotation sack wrapped around its neck like a towel. Piplup evolved into a larger penguin Pokemon with a large, yellow crest growing from its beak up and over its head. And her Squirtle was able to evolve into Wartortle.

The Pokemon that Brock had managed to evolve included Geodude, which became Graveler, Budew, who became a bipedal plant like Pokemon with a blue or red rose for its hands, known as Roselia, Bronzor, who became a large, bronze bell called "Bronzong", and Bagon having become a large white, quadruped Pokemon encased in a shell, known as "Shelgon". Turtwig was the Pokemon that managed to evolve twice during the time at the chateau, first becoming a larger, turtle Pokemon with two different shrubs on its back, known as "Grotle", then further into a massive, turtle Pokemon with a large tree and three large rock like spikes on its shell. This final form of Turtwig was known as "Torterra".

"And it does help that we managed to increase our ranks as well," Lincoln added. With all the winning he and his companions have done, Lincoln was able to make it to Marquis, while both Brock and Misty were both promoted to Duke and Duchess.

"Well, we should head back to town. We need to get ready for the Grand Prix tomorrow," Brock added.

"That's right! And I need to call Charlie and the others for our first date," Lincoln added.

"So… which girls are you taking out?" Misty asked.

"Well, Charlie, for one. I'm also calling Vaggie and Miu as well," Lincoln replied.

"You know, I bet they'd love it if you were to extend an invitation to them to the Grand Prix," Brock commented.

"You may have a point there, but I'd rather not bore any of them with just calling them to events such as this," Lincoln replied.

"Well, you don't have to call them up just for competitions like this. Just show them a good time and get closer to them on a personal level," Brock advised.

"I'll try to keep that in mind, Brock," Lincoln replied, as he used his amulet to open a portal back to the Pokemon Center they were staying at. He had Brock and Misty go through first, before going through himself.
