Chapter Two
Long Haul
Kylaa navigated through the busy walk ways of the Black Citadel. The Iron Legion's main city and where the high legion resided. Here all Charr's needs and wants were met. The citadel had weapons masters, master armorer's, talented engineers and many other skilled craftsmen and plenty of soldiers.
She only needed repairs to her armor and her weapons sharpened with a nice finishing polish. Kylaa made her way over to the armor-smith. The area smelled of hot metal and smoke. Her nostrils filled with the smell as she took a deep breath in. She enjoyed this smell every time she came to get fixed up. The clatter of hammers on metal rang out in this area of the citadel. Many Charr were out as usual getting repairs or looking to upgrade their wares.
Rounding the corner, sparks ignited and flew out into the sky to slowly disappear as they fell. New tanks and artillery being assembled by some engineering platoon. Orders being barked and the casual conversations surrounded Kylaa as she strolled up the walk way to her favorite smithy.
She came up to an older looking Charr with straw colored fur and adorned with all leather clothing that had all kinds of smithing tools tucked in their place. He was to focused hammering on a steel breast plate to even notice there was someone waiting on him. Kylaa could see he's been busy with new armor hanging up for display and many others to be worked on scattered around his smithing station. The Charr did not hear Kylaa approaching in her loud platemail even with his four ears.
"Bloodseeker!" Roared Kylaa with a big grin on her face.
"I'm busy! I'll be with you in a minute! If you don't have a minute then come back later!" Snapped the blacksmith. Bloodseeker didn't even stop what he was doing to look up at Kylaa. He continued to pound out the dents in the steel.
"Not even for your own blood?!" She spat back.
"Blast it! What do you.." Bloodseeker cut himself short as he looked up in frustration only to see his blood grandchild HavocSeeker standing there with a toothy grin on her face.
She stood there in full Blood legion plate. The armor itself was a magnificent shade of dark crimson red with large black spikes coming off her shoulders and the tops of her gauntlets. Wear and tear reflected the battles she's won. Dents and cuts from failed heavy killing blows scattered her protective uniform.
Kylaa let out a chuckle and gave the grumpy old man a paw to shake. "I'd hug ya, but I'd probably poke an eye out old man"
Bloodseeker laughed back and grabbed her paw giving it a firm shake. "Well I wouldn't want that, need them to work on all this armor!" He joked as his other paw waved at the armor scattered around. Laying his hammer down on top of the chest piece he was working on, he shuffled from around the anvil to get in a more comfortable distance of her.
"It's good to see ya again, been awhile! Still patrolling?" He asked as he started eyeing her armor. "Looks like yours is in need of some repairs, they don't have someone out there to do repairs?"
"That's true I do, main reason I'm here. And as for the armorer, well ...he lost his arm and the other paw to a ghost soldiers sword in one swipe. He bled out before his Warband could really do anything for him. Shame really."
Kylaa and Bloodseeker shared a brief moment of silence for the loss of a fellow Charr.
"Well take that armor off and I'll give it a proper repair." He said as he broke the silence. "It'll be good as new."
He walked over to his anvil and started clearing an area for her armor. He grabbed some small squares of steel. "From the looks of it, I'm gonna have to do some patching and not just some dent repairs. You know you can always dodge an attack right?"
Kylaa chuckled at his joke and replied "Why would I do that? Standing there and taking the blow without even wincing makes the enemy hesitate, and if I laugh at it. Oh boy does that really scare them."
She started unbuckling the straps that held her gauntlet in place then looked up at the old Charr.
"I know you'll do a good job, but I'm gonna need a new set of armor in the mean time, something more mobile and light, but just as strong. This job is gonna be a long haul and then we're gonna be in some branded territory."
Bloodseeker stopped what he was doing and shot her a look.
"Branded?"
