Research and Requests (Part One)

After their meeting with Commander Kamado, the Loud siblings head back down to the first floor and enter Captain Cyllene's office.

"How did your meeting with our commander go?" asked Captain Cyllene.

"It went well." said Lincoln as he rubbed his arm.

"He said we have potential." said Luna.

"Well, if our commander approves of you, then that's good enough for me." said Captain Cyllene. "It's time for you all to get started on completing the pokedex."

"How do we do that?" asked Lincoln. Just then, Professor Laventon enters the office.

"I'll explain that, Captain." said Professor Laventon. Captain Cyllene nods and lets him do so. "You need to do many things; such as capturing more specimens of each Pokemon, battle against them, observe certain moves, and other things to help gather data on them."

"We'll do all that we can to assist you with the completion of your pokedex, Professor." said Lisa.

"Then we shall get started immediately." said Professor Laventon. Just then, Akari steps into the office.

"Professor, we should also get them some pokeballs they can use." said Akari. "And perhaps show them how to make their own."

"An excellent idea, Akari." said Professor Laventon. "They will need many pokeballs if they want to capture every kind of Pokemon in Hisui."

"How do we make them?" asked Lana

"Come with me, children." said Professor Laventon. He and the others walk to the main doors of the Galaxy Hall, with Lincoln's Pokemon following after him, and exit through them. They all walk over to a small stand where a man with brown hair, wearing a white scarf, a navy blue haroi with light blue sleeves, along with blue pants, black socks, and brown sandals was waiting for them.

"Welcome to the craftworks." said the man.

"You can use the workbench here to make items that you can use." said Akari. "I'll also supply you with the items you need to make yourself some pokeballs with."

"Thanks." said Lori. Akari then hands them some reddish-orange stones, along with some large brown acorns.

"What are these?" asked Lana.

"The stones are called Tumblestones, and the brown acorns are Apricorns." said Akari. "They're the main components of what pokeballs are made of." She then shows everyone how pokeballs are made, with Lana being focused on the procedure the most.

"Can I try?" asked Lana.

"Aren't you a little too young to do this?" asked Akari.

"Please!" said Lana as she gives Akari the dreaded puppy dog eyes.

"I guess it wouldn't hurt for you to try it once." said Akari. "Don't be upset if you don't get it right on the first try." Lana smiles with delight as she gets to work; about a half minute later, much to Akari and the man's surprise, she makes a perfect pokeball.

"Such skill for someone so young." said the man.

"And you did it on your first try, too." said Akari.

"How are you so skilled with tools?" asked the man. Lana gets a confused look on her face.

"I...don't know." said Lana as she looks at the crafting tools in her hands.

"Well, now we know you got pokeball creating down." said Akari.

"Where can we find more Tumblestones and Apricorns if we want to make more of them?" asked Lana.

"They can all be found out in the wild." said Akari. "Apricorns grow out of trees, and Tumblestones can be found in red chunks of ore that can be found coming out of rocks and mountainsides.

"Okay." said Lana.

"And sometimes when digging through ore, you might find valuable items you can sell for money." said Akari.

"Valuable?" replied Lola with interest in her voice.

"Interested, are we?" Akari asked Lola.

"For some reason, the thought of valuable items excites me." said Lola. Lana then makes twenty-nine more pokeballs with the remaining material she had.

"Thanks, Lana." said the rest of the Loud siblings.

"Shall we get going?" asked Akari.

"Sure." said Luna. As the group starts heading towards the village's east gate, a member of the Galaxy Team's Security Corp who was by Galaxy Hall, calls out to them.

"Excuse me." said the Security Corp member.

"Can we help you?" asked Lincoln.

"Are you all going out into the wild?" asked the Security Corp member.

"Yes, we're heading for the Obsidian Fieldlands." said Akari.

"Could you all do something for me?" asked the Security Corp member.

"What do you need?" asked Luan.

"There's this Pokemon out there called a Wurmple; have you heard of it?" asked the Security Corp member.

"No." said Luan.

"Oh; well, I was having a chat with Professor Laventon, and he told me that after some Pokemon gain enough experience through battles, they will transform into stronger ones."

"Fascinating." said Lisa.

"He said it was a phenomenon called Evolution." said the Security Corp member. "Anyway, I want to raise a Wurmple and have it evolve."

"I'm guessing you want us to capture one for you?" asked Lori.

"If it's not too much trouble, since you'll be going out into the Obsidian Fieldlands and all." said the Security Corps members.

"Well, we are working on the pokedex for Professor Laventon." said Luna.

"And we are supposed to capture at least one of each Pokemon as part of his research." said Lynn Jr.

"I guess we can do that for you, sir." said Lincoln.

"Thank you so much." said the Security Corp member.

"What does a Wurmple look like?" asked Luan.

"It's like a red caterpillar with a spiky body and a yellow horn on its forehead." said the Security Corp member.

"Got it." said Lana. As the group continues on towards the east gate, they spot a woman, wearing a green kimono, who waves them over.

"Are you children with the Survey Corps?" asked the woman.

"Yes, we are." said Lynn Jr.

"You're working on that pokedex for Professor Laventon, aren't you?" asked the woman.

"We're about to get started on that." said Lori. "Why do you ask?"

"There's this Pokemon that I'm interested called a Starly." said the woman.

"I have one right here." said Lori as she pulls out her Starly's pokeball.

"Not right now!" said the woman.

"Why not?" asked Leni.

"I'm interested, but I'm still a little nervous about meeting one." said the woman. "I was hoping that once you finish the page on Starly, I can look at it; maybe that help make me feel more at ease around one."

"Sure, we'd be glad to help." said Luna.

"Thank you so much." said the woman. The group then continue on towards the gate.

"As you can tell, we usually get a lot of requests from villagers for help with anything Pokemon related." said Akari. "It's also our job to help them with what they need as well."

"We're okay with that." said Lana. Lincoln looks around and sees a man with brown hair, wearing a navy blue haroi, and blue pants, gripping his head in frustration.

"Those ears... I can't recall what they're like." said the man.

"Are you okay, sir?" asked Lincoln. The man turns around and looks at Lincoln.

"You're with the Survey Corps, aren't you?" asked the man.

"Yes." replied Lincoln.

"I'm trying to recall what the designs in a Shinx's ears look like, but I can't seem to remember." said the man.

"Would this help?" asked Lincoln as he steps aside and points to his Shinx, surprising the man.

"Yes! That's exactly the Pokemon I was looking for!" said the man. "Can I see what his ears are like, please?!"

"I don't see a reason why not." said Lincoln.

"Thank you so much!" said the man. Lincoln looks at his Shinx and has him hold still so the man can look at the marks in his ears.

"That's it! So, the ears have that yellow cross pattern, kind of like a star!" said the man. He then looks towards Lincoln with a big smile. "Thank you, so much young man! I've been trying to remember what those marks are like; it was driving me up the wall! It felt like a bone stuck in my throat, only my throat's my brain, and the bone was a thought! Thanks for helping me get that bone out!"

"Well, I'm glad I was able to help." said Lincoln. The man takes out three light purple bottles and hands them to Lincoln.

"Take these as thanks for helping me." said the man. Akari walks over and sees what the man gave Lincoln.

"Those are Potions." said Akari.

"Potions?" replied Lincoln.

"They're topical medicines that restore some of a Pokemon's health." said Akari. "Those can be helpful when you're battling other Pokemon and yours get injured."

"I'll remember that." said Lincoln as he puts the Potions in his satchel. After that, Lincoln, and most of his sisters, notice Leni looking into a store that had an assortment of kimonos and harois.

"What are you looking at, Leni?" asked Lori.

"I can't stop looking at these outfits for some reason." said Leni.

"Maybe we should get another change of outfits to wear when we're taking a break from working on the pokedex." said Luan. Just then, a woman who was wearing a purple kimono with some tan on the upper half of the top of it over a light purple, long-sleeved shirt and leggings, walks over to them.

"Hello, children." said the woman. "My name is Anthe, I'm the owner of this clothing shop."

"Nice to meet you." said Leni. "I love these outfits; they are so cute!"

"I'm glad to hear that." said Anthe. "Anyway, I was asked by the professor to provide each of you with a change of clothes for you to wear."

"Really?" replied Leni.

"Yes, I just need to know what sizes to make, and what colors you would like." said Anthe. The Loud siblings tell her what she needed to know, and she enters her store to get started on making their outfits.

"That was nice of Professor Laventon to do that for us." said Lori.

"Totes." said Leni.

"What is that word?" asked Lynn Jr.

"I don't know, it just keeps coming out." said Leni.

"Nothing to worry about." said Lori.

"Let's get going." said Akari. The group finally reaches the gate and tell the gurad where they were going.

"Be careful out there." said the guard.

"We'll look out for each other." said Lincoln. The group then exits the village to start their work on the pokedex.

What new Pokemon will they discover in the Obsidian Fieldlands? Will they ever recover their memories and return home?
