Life is a precious thing. For every single denizen of it's elongated reach, be they small, or big or gigantic, it is just as easy to lose it, as it was to acquire it in the first place.
Darkness...
Somewhat natural yet at the same time equally alarming.
Alarming? To what end?
Silence...
Everything was still. Everything was... nothing. Why was there only nothing?
A push..
Close. Pushing against the.. darkness, it seemed to give way, but only briefly. Nothing actually happened from what could be seen, but what could be felt spoke of a different circumstance.
Silence..
Suddenly, as though the darkness made its rounds around the senses, everything started to close in.
The alarming feeling made itself known once again, but this time, no matter how silent it went, it never ceased it's march toward the core of it all.
It was time.
With another push, the darkness was cracked, and soon came the.. bright light of the outside, shortly followed by the cracking of the adjacent darkness of the previously broken spot.
Chirp!
As small as it was brief, the sound repeated again and again as if the previouslt known darkness was taunting her.
A few pushes later would soon reveal the top half of what appeared to be a pristine and nigh glistening white carapace of an egg being shattered, or at the very least splitting as the owner would pop their head out.
White as the egg she came from if not even more so, the head of creature would pop out slowly but surely, getting used to the glare of the sun rays whom were raging overhead. It started with the head, which had weird protrusions from its back.
Two small, violet eyes opened to greet the world for the very first time, only to be met with... what she could only describe a slightly lighter darkness. Weird disturbances were present among it as it stretched upwards in what seemed to be a large tunnel.
Continously looking up took its toll on the Small One which made her take her eyes off the glaring upward and instead focus downward to the egg that still encapsulated her.
Though, before she could even move slightly the egg itself seemed to lean forward with her own weight as a catalyst, as the small hatching would make it's first greeting with the colder earth beneath.
Sliminess still tied to her scaling, Small One found herself on the ground, chirping in a frightened manner the moment she could prop her face from the ground. Shaking her tiny head, she would then look at the egg she tripped out of, now mostly vacant, save for her tail.
Eyes blinked.
Looking over herself, she would flex her pair of wings as she came to feel them, as she would her tail. The pair would soon be held closely to her body, her hind section prompting itself upwards in an attempt of getting up.
Garnering strength, Small One managed to stand up, which in turn made her wings droop to her either side. It seemed she didn't have the required strength.
Looking around the area she was in, her eyes would be laid upon the encompassing rocky structure that constituted an enclosure, stretching out and upwards through and far above.
There was no other in here except her. Her own smell seemed to be around anywhere she looked in her current spot.
Reserving herself to sitting on her hindquarters, her wings dropping limply to the ground, Small One scouted the surroundings...
Chirp.
She would.
The sound echoed throughout to no avail. No other was there to hear her. She had a vague need nagging her, compelling her to cry out.
Squeak!
Her small jaws parted as if it clicked.
Where was Mother?
A/N:An attempt of mine to try and perhaps write a semi good story focused on an underrated monster. Made in honor of How The Dark Became Brilliant, it will follow a similar structure, though not quite.
My aim with this book is to try and expand on what Oltura is and could be to the Monster Hunter World while also showing her character.
Though not necessarily following the pre-established birth cycle of Wings Of Ruin, we will see how things evolve in the end.
I am open to feedback and reviews in that regard are much appreciated!
Next upload should come relatively soon, probably every two or three days though I do not want to set expectations I can't follow so we will see.
In honor of Small One of Alatreon kin.
Until we meet again.
