Sol Penance
A Tale of Retribution
I: Life in Prison
A year has passed since the Chimera Legion's failed attempt to lay waste to the Sol Empire. The kingdoms have found time to heal and even grow in the aftermath. Blaze-san was no different as she was paying a visit to the Sol Correction Facility.
Cinder was in the visitation wing as he turns to the entryway seeing his sister arrive. "Good to see you again, sister."
Blaze took a seat across from him. "I have good news for you, brother. You're being screened today for the chance of an early parole."
"Really? Seems rather sudden." The bengal tiger was not sure how to feel.
"With your aid in reconstruction along with the cure for mother's ailment, you've could even be granted early release."
Cinder turned to the doorway behind him which lead to the prisoner dormitory. "What of Marshall?"
Blaze sighs a bit. "We can't help him, Cinder."
"He doesn't deserve to be here."
"Marshall still aided in Jiyuu's rebellion. I know he turned against her, but the damage was done."
Cinder sighs looking down. "Can we at least visit him one last time?"
Blaze would nod as she stood up approaching the dormitory entrance. "Where would he be?"
"At this time, in the stage room."
As they made their way to the room in question, Marshall was on the stage engaging with one of the other prisoners relaying syllable after syllable in a rapid succession.
Cinder would cut through the crowd to get to the stage climbing on top. "Marshall,…"
The lions turned to him stepping up to him. "You want to go a round, Prince?"
"Actually, I'm being screened for early parole."
Marshall smirked a bit looking impressed. "That's great, man. Only half the time."
Blaze would approach him. "Perhaps with our help, we could see about an early parole for you as well."
"I appreciate that, but I do belong here." He looks over the crowd. "Got to set an example for the others."
"Even your pride?"
The lion turns away. "You can go now."
Blaze then escorted Cinder to meet with the prison warden. However, she would be intercepted by someone. "Marine?"
The raccoon was panting heavily as she looks up at her friend. "We've got a problem, Blaze."
"How bad is it? I can't just leave my brother…"
Cinder stops her so he can speak. "It's okay. Go, sister."
"What about you?"
"I'll be fine." He gently hugs her before making his way to the warden's office alone.
Marine would lead Blaze out of the facility to the shore. "See what I see?"
Blaze looks around seeing debris of what appeared to be mechanical creatures. "These can't be."
"That's what I said. What I can't figure out is who wrecked them."
A familiar voice would then provide the answer. "Resilient little monstrosities."
The feline turned to see Balam descend from the air. "Balam." She approached her slowly before bowing to her.
Balam would bow in return. "This seems like technology of the doctor of the Chaos Dimension. Could this Eggman be here?"
"Not likely. He's been withheld for five years now. This has to be…" Before she could finish her statement, she would be grabbed by a large mechanical arm.
Marine engulfed said arm with the water around them as Balam would free Blaze from its grip.
The princess observed this machine seeing the culprit housed inside of the remnants of the Ghost Titan. "Agnes Tolkien."
Dr. Tolkien would open the hatch of the large machine as she stood to greet her adversary. "Did you miss me?"
