Day 212, 10:50 AM
Outside Hosu General Hospital
"We already told you, we don't personalize," Kaminari snarks as he holds his hands up, keeping his ears open in case he hears something rising from the destroyed lobby behind. He clenches his hands involuntarily before looking forward. "Or, are we not good heroes for not personalizing autographs?"
"I gotta say," a female voice speaks up. Newscaster steps in through the crowd, looking at the Kamisquad with a smile. "As much as none of us like you, I gotta say, what you guys did was impressive. I mean, that cartwheel over the desk in the front lobby, I mean, wow." She smiles behind her mask. "Honestly, it's been a while since I've seen some Hollywood-esque action like that in real life."
"Who are you?" Jirou asks. "Are you one of those people who prefers talking rather than just killing us and getting it over with?" She shrugs. "Not that I'm complaining; I've had my fair share of villains who talk rather than just kill dummies and get it over with."
Kaminari rolls his eyes, remembering the USJ. "Come on, Jirou, why do you gotta kick me while I'm down?"
"Because it's my coping mechanism and the only thing keeping me from freaking out."
Newscaster smiles. "You guys sure pulled some awesome moves back there. I know I sound like a broken record but I still can't help but admire your skills and precision." Newscaster removes her mask, revealing a young woman with a burn scar the size of a playing card on her lower lip. "You know, those bigs guys, we've always had trouble dealing with them but you guys, just... wow."
The Bystanders look at each other, murmuring a little. One of them holds her thumbs up to the Kamisquad.
"You hate us but you love what we do?" Kuroiro asks. "Wow, what a world we've devolved into. Can't people just like us for who we are?"
"Nope, that's not how it works, shroom," Komori snarks.
Mineta stares at Newscaster's chest; it was the only thing to keep him from pissing and shitting his pants from the Bystanders holding him hostage. Zoom and enhance, zoom and enhance.
"Denki Kaminari, you are a dumbass," Newscaster insults. "But that giant zombie... smart. You knew that he was coming down the elevator and you lit the hospital on fire to stop him. We've avoided those giant zombies like the plague and yet here you are, coming into the place, destroying our home, and killing a giant zombie for our sake. How can we ever repay you?"
Kaminari shrugs. "Well, you can let us go for starters, if it's not too much trouble."
"It is too much trouble. For you because there's a lot of people in the crowd that want to settle some scores with you."
"Like me, bitches!" Dino-Mite yells as he hustles through the crowd. "You guys owe me one fucking soul for the soul your green-haired dekiru friend killed. Nobody steals the Dino-Mite's dynamite, bitches!"
Kaminari drops his jaw. "Uhh, we don't know you."
"Oh, and you kinda owe us for taking our friends with your electricity," Newscaster reminds him. "You know, earlier, when you leashed your indiscriminate shock on them. Earlier, in the lobby, like, half an hour ago. Just reminding you in case your stupid side surfaced and you forgot."
"Fuck you, bitch," Kaminari yells. He flips her off. "Fuck you!"
"There's a lot of things I considered doing the apocalypse but fucking a 16-year-old was not one of them."
"I like it when they explode," Dino-Mite butts in. "I love it when they go ka-boom and are sent to their doom!"
Kaminari rolls his eyes. "Guys, look, please, no one else has to die or get hurt. Please, we just came here to save our friend. We came here to save Koji Koda. And we cleared out the city of zombies, just like the message told us to. Please, just give us our friend and we'll be on our way home."
Jirou narrows her eyes. "This dummy's wrong about a lot of things but he's telling the truth! Please." She takes a step forward. "Please, we'll just take our friend and we'll be on our way. You will never hear from us again. As long as we don't cross each other's path, we can forget this whole thing ever happened."
"Potshot, Sky High, Lightweight, Tailgate, Whiteout, K-Hole." Newscaster holds up six fingers. "You killed six of our friends and you only suffered two casualties; I say the odds are far from even."
"Please," Jirou begs. "No one has to die. Please, just let us go."
"I'm sorry for shocking you if it makes you feel better!" Kaminari feels to answer.
"Please, just let us go!" Mineta sobs.
"They're not going to let us go," Kenta says, still panting. "We're at their mercy and they hate us with all their might."
Newscaster laughs. "I like seeing you guys beg it really sheds light on your true personalities. A wise clown-faced terrorist once said 'in their final moments, people show you who they really are'." She tilts her head. "I hate you guys for saving us but at the same time... I can't help but remember that you're kids."
"Age means fuck shit in the apocalypse, honey!" Dino-Mite exclaims. "The only number that matters nowadays is the number of skills you possess to survive!"
"By all means, we should make them suffer for what they've done but they're still just kids," Newscaster says. "I'm hesitant to harm them."
The Bystanders yell at Newscaster. She waves her hands at them, ordering them to shut up, which they do after about twenty seconds.
"Hold on, I'm not saying we let them go without repercussions!"
"We're suffering enough already!" Kuroiro yells. "But it can all end right now. I have a solution to shed some light in this dark hour."
"Heater," Mineta yells, "we'll give you Heater for Koda. Please, we'll set up a trade somehow; just don't kill us!"
"I can offer up some food," Komori offers. "My quirk allows me to create mushrooms. I can create food for you guys."
"And I can provide you guys with electricity," Kaminari goes next.
Newscaster smiles. "You already did, dumbass."
"I mean, one that isn't fatal to your health, obviously. I mean, I blew up your propane tank and it looks like I knocked out all the electricity in your home."
"And I'm good for scouting." Jirou holds up her jacks. "I mean, I can hear from a few kilometers away or so. And if you come across a barricade, I can destroy it."
"And I'm a heavy hitter," Kenta quickly says. Without thinking, he reaches in Kaminari's pocket and removes his dragon mask but refrains from putting it on. "I'm very strong."
"And if you're so upset about us fakers, then you can always torture Mineta," Kuroiro suggests. "He's a pervert, after all."
"NO!" Mineta yells. "I'm not a pervert!"
"Really?" Newscaster tilts her head. "You weren't staying at my tits a few seconds ago?"
"No, I wasn't; I swear!"
Newscaster smiles, continuing to laugh. "Man, the six of you are utterly hopeless." She narrows her eyes, studying them for a second. "You really want to help us? You really want us to call Anaemia in the suburbs and tell him that people such as yourself are worth saving?" She shakes her head mockingly like a mother disappointed in her child. "My, my." She pauses. "It would be helpful if you were helpful."
Jirou narrows her eyes. She mentioned that Anaemia is in the suburbs. Perfect, we know his location.
"What?!" Dino-Mite yells. "We're letting these low-lives live? What the fuck?!"
"You guys want a shot at redemption?" Newscaster ignores her companion. "Of all the places to look for redemption, the zombie apocalypse isn't the first place to come to mind."
"Isn't it our fault in the first place?" Jirou says. "According to you guys, the outbreak is our fault because we failed to contain it. That is debatable but this whole mess with the hospital, that is our fault. The least we can do is... help you rebuild your home."
"You're not underestimating us, are you?" Newscaster stares down at Jirou. "We've killed pro heroes before, pros with a lot more experience than any of your children have so don't underestimate us."
"What pros?"
She pauses. "Huh, it was so long ago that I forgot their names."
"This is our shot at redemption just as much as it is yours," Jirou argues. "Nobody's hands are clean at this point but now, we got a chance to do good. Allow us to offer our service. We couldn't stop this outbreak from happening but what we can do is make sure you guys have a future here in Hosu."
"Is this a serious offer?"
Jirou nods. "It is. Is it miss... whatever your name is."
"Newscaster." She shakes her head. "Kiyomi. My name is Kiyomi." She takes out her walkie-talkie. "Eagle Eye, come in, Eagle Eye."
"Go for Eagle Eye."
"Tell Anaemia that the false heroes feel bad for this mess they caused. They're willing to help us out in exchange for the rocky-headed student, Koji Koda. And they're willing to give us back Heater as well."
"I sure will. I'm on my way to tell him the news in person."
Newscaster pockets her walkie-talkie.
"For a woman who's lived through many conundrums, you have no wisdom!" Dino-Mite scolds.
"No, we need all the help we can get." Newscaster keeps her eyes on the students. "We need all the help we can get. After all, they're capable of feats we are not and we can't risk any more of our people."
Newscaster close her eyes.
Maybe there is hope. These false heroes failed horribly but the fact they're willing to go to such lengths to save their friends... maybe there still is hope.
As Newscaster opens her mouth to say more, an explosion goes off behind them. A car flies into the air, catching flames before landing behind Newscaster. The woman jumps in fear and turns to observe the disaster. She puts her mask back on before looking up, and seeing a horde of zombies sprinting for her.
The Bystanders scream before turning toward the horde of zombies and begin using all of their quirks against the zombies. A runner tackles the first Bystander to the ground and takes a bite out of his forearm before climbing off of him and running to its next target. Walkers pounce on him.
"Hold them off!" Dino-Mite yells. He quickly produces a stick of dynamite, lights it, and chucks it at the zombies.
"You tricked us!" a Bystander yells before getting overrun with walkers.
"They all tricked us!" Dino-Mite yells. "There's no might if they aren't All Might!" He throws another stick of dynamite.
"No, they didn't trick us!" Newscaster insists. "They couldn't have!"
Kaminari steps back, looking ahead to see the horde closing in on them. Looking around, he sees the zombies coming in from all sides. Gasping heavily, he is about to have a stroke until something above him catches his eye.
It was a pickup truck with Deku, Uraraka, Bakugou, Shinsou, and Hatsume inside, floating twenty feet above the air.
"You bastards!" Bakugou winces before shutting out the pain. "Always getting yourselves into trouble and forcing us to save you!"
"Up here!" Uraraka grabs the cable from Shinsou's jetpack, which she used during the obstacle course, and uses it to float down. She keeps herself weightless as she touches down on the ground. "Hold on!"
The Bystanders are too distracted by the chaos of the zombie horde to notice the UA students.
Kuroiro grabs onto the cable and holds on tight. Komori grabs another part of the cable and holds on tight.
"Don't leave me!" Mineta attaches his purple balls to Kuroiro's jacket and holds on.
Kenta puts on his mask and goes next.
"Who is this?" Uraraka asks.
"A fire-breathing dragon!" Kuroiro answers.
"He's cool," Komori confirms.
Uraraka quickly makes the four of them float. She looks over to see Kaminari and Jirou dodging zombies. "Come on guys, let's go!"
"Give us a second!" Kaminari sidesteps a zombie while sticking his leg out, causing it to trip. As he turns, his eyes widen in shock.
A piece of debris from the hospital comes flying toward them.
"Damn it!" Bakugou lets off an explosion from the ground, making the floating pickup truck ascend in the air and taking the floating people dangling to the cable with them. They barely float above the piece of debris, missing it by a few inches.
The debris flies near Kaminari's head but barely misses him by a few inches. Looking back at the lobby, another piece of debris comes flying toward him. Rotating on his heels, he drops to the ground, landing on his chest, and allowing the debris to knock out a group of runners coming for him. Looking back into the lobby, he sees a charred foot belonging to the buried hunter beast sticking out of a pile of debris. A hand reaches out, freeing itself from the rubble as the creature underneath begins unearthing itself.
"Oh no," Kaminari manages to gasp as he picks himself up. Jirou looks over at the rubble, a look of horror written on her face. Kaminari grabs her by the arms and drags her away. They maneuver through the chaos of Bystanders and zombies ripping at each other, tripping and shoving zombies along the way, before they reach Kaminari's dirt bike where he left it.
Kaminari climbs on and starts it up. A walker grabs his shoulder. He smacks its hand off of him before Jirou kicks it away. He revs up the bike and takes off, steering clear of the densest parts of the chaotic crowd.
"Kaachan, launch us out of here!" Deku orders.
Bakugou holds onto the back of the pickup truck and fires off a big explosion, propelling the floating pickup truck forward.
Those dangling on the cable quickly ascend the rope and climb into the back of the pickup truck. Uraraka frees them of zero gravity but keeps the jeep afloat. She carefully climbs into the passenger seat and sits beside Deku.
"I've always wanted to take a ride in a flying car ever since I saw Harry Potter," King Dragon gasps.
Bakugou looks at him. "It's you."
King Dragon tilts his head. "If I recall, you tried to ram me with your car."
He glares at him. "I remember you from the Provisional Hero Licensing Exam." He eyes his tattoos. "I'd never forget ugly dragon tattoos such as yourself."
"I see you still haven't lost your ways." He flips him off. "By the way, have you won any battles authentically or are your opponents half-assing against you."
"Shut up, man." He looks to Kurorio. "Where the hell did you find this guy?"
"By chance," Kuroiro pants. "Fate dealt us a game of chance and we came up one King Dragon."
"King Dragon? That's your fucking name?" Bakugou laughs. "What's your real name, numbnuts?"
"Kenta Oshiro, at your service." He removes his mask. "Better?"
"Infinitly, buddy."
Down below, half of the Bystanders are on the ground, the zombies doing their best to make the most of their fleshling meals.
The hunter beast finally unearths itself out of the rubble and tosses the last of the debris off himself. Despite having a lack of need for air, the hunter beast sighs heavily as it stomps forward.
Dino-Mite lights another stick of dynamite and chucks it as far as he can.
A brainiac hiding in the crowd catches the stick of dynamite like a baseball catcher and extinguishes the flames. She holds her hand up, signaling a runner beside her to pause. She waits a few seconds before relighting the cord. She shoves the stick of dynamite into the runner's pants before growling. She points to Dino-Mite.
The runner growls before sprinting for Dino-Mite.
As Dino-Mite lights another stick of dynamite, his eyes widen when he sees the runner coming for him, one of his sticks of dynamite in his pants. In the panic, Dino-Mite drops the stick of dynamite at his feet as the runner reaches him. The runner wraps its arms around Dino-Mite when-
KA-BOOM!
The only flying body part of Dino-Mite that can be identified is his right arm strewn across the curbside.
The hunter beast smashes two screaming Bystanders on the ground before grabbing a third one and lifting him above his head. He rips him in two before throwing the upper part of his body at a nearby Bystander holding his own against zombies with the other one being thrown at a Bystander standing on the top of a semi.
Newscaster makes a run for it through the crowd. She leaps over a burning car, burning her left hand in the process before she sprints for the street.
The brainiac from before leaps out and slices her right leg, severing her Achilles tendons. Newscaster screams at the otp of her lungs before falling to the ground. She lands hard on her chest, feeling like her ribcages are being pushed into her chest. She looks above her to see a small group of zombies surrounding her.
She gasps, staring at them with wide eyes while shaking her head. "No. No, please."
The hunter beast stands over her, looking down at her with a tilting head.
Newscaster screams at the top of her lungs. "HELP ME! PLEASE, SOMEONE HELP ME!"
The brainiac snaps her fingers.
The group of zombies pounce on her, tearing into her flesh.
Newscaster's screams of fear turn to screams of terror as she feels the teeth dig into the flesh in her stomach. The lights go out when the sharp end of a knife meets her eyes. Her hearing drops to zero when sharp nails dig into her ears. Her life ends when a walker bites into her neck. It is overkill when the hunter beast stomps on her face and crushes it.
With Deku
"Whose plan was it to lead the zombies to the Bystanders?" Kuroiro asks.
"It was my plan," Deku answers. "I had this plan in mind since these hunter guys told us to get rid of the zombies." He pauses. "They're called the Bystanders?" His eyes widen. "Where's Koda?"
"He's in the suburbs," Komori answers. "That one lady Bystander, Newscaster, said that Anaemia is in the suburbs in the south part of town. I don't know where, though."
"How do you know she wasn't lying?" Shinsou asks.
"Kaminari said Whiteout told him that Anaemia is in the subrubs on the south side of town," Mineta answers. "And given that the hottie said the same thing... she must've been telling the truth."
"What if Anaemia told them to say that in case the worst happened?" Bakugou asks.
"We still gotta take that risk," Uraraka says. "Right Deku?"
Deku nods, keeping his hands on the wheel, even though turning the wheels is useless in the floating car. "Right. But, looking for him is going to be next to impossible unless we have a place to start."
"What are you guys going to do to me?" Kenta asks. "Are you going to lock me up and force me to listen to your shrill voices for the rest of my life? Or are you going to take me back to your humbled home?"
"Can we trust you?" Shinsou asks. "Why do you have tattoos?"
"Here's my catchphrase: 'I'm not part of the Yakuza'."
"We can trust him," Kuroiro nods.
"Yes," Komori confirms. "If it hadn't been for Kenta, Shishida would've killed us." She pauses. "We lost Shishida. He turned into a beast and..."
"Kenta fought him off; saved our lives." Mineta hugs his knees to his chest. "He can turn into a dragon; that can be useful, right?"
"Shishida's dead?" Uraraka gasps. "How are we going to tell the others?"
"We'll be the ones to tell them," Komori says. "He was part of our class so we'll be the ones to break the bad news."
"We have to find Koda to make sure his death is not in vain." Kuroiro furrows his brows. "Where's Bondo?"
"No clue," Hatsume answers. "We tried to look for him but... nothing."
"We'll save Koda and then we'll come back for Bondo," Deku assures them.
"We're not leaving anyone behind," Bakugou nods firmly.
Kenta raises his hand like a student in class. "Does that include little old me?"
"Temping to leave you behind, yakuza boy, but yet."
With Kaminari
Riding through the streets and adopting the same tactics of using the alleyways to get by through town, Kaminari clutches the handles hard enough for his knuckles to turn white. Jirou rests her face into the center of his back between his collarbone.
Kaminari gulps. "Your tacts back there, negotiating to offer our rescue services to the Bystanders, was it genuine?"
Jirou pulls her face from his back. "I didn't want to die. I was saying whatever I could to survive, so we could all survive. If we had to put our lives on the line to survive, then I'm willing to go through with it."
"So it wasn't manipulation?"
"I'm not sure. I... I just didn't want to die. I was so scared and..."
"I was scared too, Jirou." His expression softens.
"The Bystanders hate us with every fiber of their being yet they were willing to work with us. They thought we failed them as heroes."
"There's only so much we can do, right? We can't solve every problem." He clenches his lips. "I love All Might - don't get me wrong - but I hate what he's done to us. When I was on social media when All Might died, everyone was talking about who is going to be the next All Might. Endeavor was the number two hero but he's no All Might. Every day, it was 'All Might this, All Might that'. Every kind of pro ranging from underground heroes to rescue heroes was being compared to All Might and when they failed to meet the perfect standards he set, the audience hated him. And then there was that tenacious and cool villain, Stain, who said that most pros ae only in it for money and fame." He clutches the handles once more. "There will never be another All Might; no one can live up to his impossible standards and I think civilians are stupid for thinking that." He narrows his eyes. "Looks what's happened around us; regardless of how this outbreak started, whether the pros could've prevented it or not, All Might turned civilians against us. I know it wasn't his fault but we're suffering because of him. We lost Sato because of the Bystanders. Koji Koda is being tortured because of the Bystanders. Two pros died because of the Bystanders. And then there's Shishida."
Jirou looks at his nape. "Kaminari, what are you saying?" She shakes her head. "Stop saying that; you're not supposed to say that. You're supposed to be the fun-loving guy who's always talking about the positives in life."
"I'm done taking shit from people, putting us on the same pedestals as gods. I know, 'Kami' means god but still. I'm tired of people dehumanizing us. They did it before and now they're doing it to us." He sighs. "When you think about it, the term 'Bystander' seems to fit these assholes perfectly. They were comfortable watching on the side, never having to risk it, but when the heroes fail, they're a bunch of ungrateful assholes. I had a sense pro work would be hard but I didn't know that it would be scary. I mean... yeah, I've always known it was scary with the villains and all - the USJ is still fresh on my mind - but those ungrateful asshole bystanders are just... no. We're just kids, we're just a bunch of kids. You lost your parents and I don't even know if my parents and little sister are alive or dead or zombies or worse. Why won't those bastards just give us a fucking break?!"
Jirou closes her mouth after opening it to say something. She rests her forehead on his back, sighing. "I wish I could listen to some music right now and just... tune out the rest of the world."
"And I wish I was scrolling through my phone, looking for the next trendy thing." He unclenches his left hand on the handle. He flexes his fingers before returning them. "We can indulge when we get back, right?"
Jirou looks up. "You're going to have to charge up my phone without using your quirk."
He chuckles. "We'll see."
11:20 AM
Two-Story House, Suburbs
Kicking Koji Koda across the face, Anaemia sends the poor boy falling down a flight of stairs, a cloth in his mouth, his hands and feet tied behind his back. Hitting his shoulder against the ground, Koji Koda winces, looking up at the top of the stairs to see the man descending.
Anaemia leaps halfway down the stairs and lands on top of his stomach. Koji Koda groans, curling into a fetal position before Anaemia delivers an uppercut kick to his jaw.
"This is going to be the last time for a while I'm going to torture a false hero so... I'm going to indulge and enjoy myself every chance I get."
Sensing a presence in the room, he looks over his shoulder in the living room. "Eagle Eye, to what brings you here?"
A housefly transforms into a human behind a granite kitchen counter. The human ducks under the counter and out of Anaemia's sight for a few seconds before they stand up, wearing a gray robe.
Anaemia looks over at Eagle Eye. "Boy, what brings you here?"
Eagle Eye, a young boy with jet-black hair, looks over at Anaemia as he puts on a pair of sandals. "We lost them. Everyone."
"What does that mean?"
"Everyone is dead." The boy presses his lips together. "We lost every single one of them. Kiyomi, Taishi, Shinsanpei, Takuya, Makoto, Takashi, Tazuo; we lost them all."
Anaemia stares at Eagle Eye as if he stabbed him in the heart. "Are you bullshitting me?"
"I wish I was but.. they're dead."
Anaemia clenches his fists, gritting his teeth. "Did they suffer? How did they die?"
"Those UA bastards lured a horde of zombies to them, torn them all apart." Eagle Eye holds up a finger and promptly vomits on the ground. He uses the string on the robe as a napkin to wipe the vomit off his mouth. He quickly puts on a pair of sandals beside his feet.
"And the hospital?" Anaemia chokes.
"Burned down to the ground."
"How many are left?" Anaemia steps forward. "Please tell me that at least one of our friends is alive."
Eagle Eye squeezes his eyes shut. He sobs a little, falling to his knees. Anaemia takes off his mask before grabbing Eagle Eyes and pulls him in for a hug.
"Haruto," Rintaro whispers. He holds the boy's head to his chest, cradling him.
"They're all dead," Haruto sobs.
This is all my fault; I should've insisted on evacuating everyone. I NEVER should've given them the pleasure of touting Koda. I should've forced them out of the city when I had the chance. I should've known that those fakers would've had an ace up their sleeve. They lead a fucking horde to our people.
"I couldn't do anything."
"It wasn't your fault." Rintaro pats his head. "You can't do anything as a fly. I shouldn't have burdened you with such a responsibility." He looks over at Koji Koda, glaring at him. She shakes his head, sneering like a wicked witch.
"Haruto, there is something I need you to do. I need you to find these UA bastards and I need you to bring them here to this house. But only after I tell you to. Lead these bastards to the house if they're too stupid to follow directions - which they might be - and then get out of here. Fly like a fly as far away as you can, as fast as you can. Don't ever come back. Assume I'm dead."
Haruto looks up at him. "What are you going to do?"
"If these bastards are willing to kill our people, then they're not the kinda false heroes we were used to. Even if they were only in it for the money or fame, they were bound by public relations to not kill or harm civilians and bystanders. These false heroes-in-training are different. Jesus Christ, they killed all of us and who knows what they did to Heater. I'll give credit when credit is due: they care about their friends so much they're willing to kill. These people killed over fifty guys to rescue their friends. They're not going to stop until they get Koji Koda back." He makes Haruto face him. Seeing his tears, he wipes them off the boy's face. "One of us have to survive, one of us has to make it."
"No," Haruto shakes his head, "I can't leave you behind."
"You're a kid; you still have your entire life ahead of you, even if it is a rotten life. You have much to give. I'm a grown-ass man and a firefighter; I'm expendable compared to you." He looks back to Koji Koda. "Haruto, promise me you'll run away when I tell you. Please, I have to know I can have your word on this."
"I can't," Haruto sobs, "I don't want to be alone."
"Those bastards are going to kill me for torturing Koda."
"Please, don't leave me."
"I'm so sorry, Haruto." He hugs him tightly once more. "I don't want to do this but somehow, one way or another, I'm going to die and I'd rather the last look you have of my face is not a tortured soul but a soul that loved you and protected you. I wish for the last thing of you to see of me is my smile, not my face controting in agony."
His expression darkens. "The only person whose face is going to contort in agony is this UA bastard." He puts his mask on.
He gently sets Haruto to the side before marching over to Koji Koda, armed with a scalpel. "Well, well, well, it looks like you UA brats are more bite than bark. Your so-called friends went on a killing spree and destroyed our entire group. They killed every single one of my friends." His eyes widen. A smile graces his face.
Yes, I have come up with the PERFECT idea. Those UA bastards may win the battle... but I'M going to win the war.
"Can you believe it?" He kneels over Koji Koda. "The people you trained with, fought with, competed with, are capable of taking human lives. Not just knock them out but kill them and remove them permanently from this earth."
Koji Koda looks at him, eyes wide as he comprehends his information.
"I know what you're thinking: I'm probably making this up just to get in your head. But if you don't believe me, then... why don't you ask your classmates when they get here. I'm sure they would be open and honest about it, considering that they probably live with you. You know, it's always the people you live with that you can tell who is a liar and who is a truther. You know which one I am, Koda, I'm a truther. You don't believe me? Think about it: I could've told your friends when they arrived to this city that we were taking good care of you but I didn't. Instead, I showed them live video footage of me torturing you. I'm a truther and that is why they lead the zombies out of the city." He holds a finger up. "Except, your friends lead the horde back to the city to kill my friends. Now, from your perspective, we may be nothing but a bunch of no-good belligerent bystanders, but to each other, we're family. We're all we got left in this world so when one of us die, we don't just sweep that fact under the rug. I'm sure you can understand the same thing.
"However, instead of taking us for our word and leading the zombies away and allowing us to trade for you, they tricked us. They led the horde to our group and killed us. Given the circumstances described by Eagle Eyes, it is most likely that Izuku Midoriya is the one who came up with the plan to lead the horde to my group." He nods. "Yeah, he does have the brains for it but someone like Midoriya is too kind-hearted. Someone like him would look for other solutions to take out my group yet, he was the first to kill us all. I know from experience that someone to good, too nice doesn't resort to killing as their first option. Which means..." He narrows his eyes. "Midoriya has killed before."
Koji Koda gasps, shaking his head in denial. He mutters something but it is lost in the gag.
"Yes, I must've hit the nail on the head, and considering your reaction, Midoriya hasn't killed before. In front of your eyes at least. There's another thing to consider: them being here. The friend left behind, Heater, he is loyl to us and would never give up information on his friends, not unless he was forced to. The fact that your friends are here one day after Heater was kidnapped means Heater was tortured day in and day out for our whereabouts." He pulls his mask down to reveal his gleeful smile. "How often does Midoriya go out on supply runs?"
He shakes his head.
Anaemia tilts his head. "He doesn't?" He pulls his mask. "Interesting. Are you sure? When was the last time he went out? He must've gone out or disappeared to kill someone. According to Eagle Eyes, Midoriya killed our friend named Sky High yet, his reaction was too calm and collected, meaning that this isn't the first time he's responsible for someone dying. Is there any other time when Midoriya left your sanctuary to go out?"
The factory but... Koji Koda shakes his head. No, there were only zombies and no one died. The only other time I can think of is...
He gasps.
The League of Villains. They kidnapped him. Kaminari, Sero, Iida, and Aoyama went to save him but only Kaminari and Sero came back.
He shakes his head.
No, Sero and Kaminari both said the villains killed Iida and Aoyama. But... Deku came back unharmed. No, no, don't let him get in your head.
"Midoriya killed Sky High and Kaminari killed four of our friends and yet, neither of them had too expressive reactions, according to Eagle Eye and Eagle Eye is all-seeing. It seems like both Midoriya and Kaminari have killed people."
Koji Koda's eyes widen.
No, they didn't kill Aoyama and Iida.
"I can see it in your eyes." He stabs Koji Koda in the right kneecap, drawing blood. "It seems you figured something out with Midoriya and Kaminari." He holds the bloody end of the scalpel to his mouth. "With this revelation in mind, who is more reliable now: the ungrateful civilian bystanders who stood by when they were nobodies and then tortured false heroes in broad daylight, or the sweet cinnamon rolls with green hairs who dream about being heroes during the day but are secretly serial killers at night, sleeping in the same tent as you? Personally, the choice is obvious. How does it feel, knowing that you were sleeping next to someone who has killed someone and kept it hidden from everyone?"
He licks the blood from the scalpel.
"You're about to find out how it feels."
