Episode 3.10—"Convergence"

The Bad Batch steps out of the Marauder, which is parked in Eiloh's rundown hangar. The asteroid storm still rages outside, and Rex and Omega have not had a chance to return. Wrecker worries that if Crosshair really is the one arriving, he will get crushed in the asteroid field. Hunter responds that Crosshair is smarter than that.

Having received the Bad Batch's coordinates, Emerie sets a course for Eiloh. Crosshair looks after Tech in the back of the ship. He is still unresponsive, but an occasional tremor runs through his body. The ship comes to a standstill. When Crosshair asks why they stopped, Emerie tells him to look out the window. He turns to see the immense asteroid belt looming ahead of them. The surging asteroids crash into each other, breaking off into fragments that hurtle dangerously close to the ship. Emerie says they will have to wait for the storm to die down before they can attempt a landing. As she speaks, Tech's tremors progress to a violent seizure. Emerie rushes over to tend to him, but the convulsions show no sign of stopping. Crosshair says they can't afford to wait. He takes the helm and directs the ship into the chaos.

Back on the ground, Eiloh's ray shield switches on. The Bad Batch exchange glances and hurry outside. They reach the control room, which is a small building containing the shield's console. The Partisans manning the control room have detected the unknown ship and activated the ray shield to block its arrival.

Hunter urgently explains why they must deactivate the shield. The Partisans are appalled to learn the clones want to let in a potentially hostile vessel. Echo says the ship will crash into the force field if they don't shut it down, but a Partisan replies that no one would try to land in this storm.

Meanwhile, Crosshair navigates through the maze of colliding asteroids. He veers the ship up, down, and around to avoid the rocky debris. In the back of the ship, Emerie rolls Tech onto his side as he struggles to breathe. The spaces between the asteroids shrink as they travel deeper into the belt. Soon, Crosshair barely has room to dodge them. The swirling dust cuts off his visibility, and an asteroid skims the side of the shuttle. Crosshair attempts to use the ship's radar to avoid more hits.

Back on the ground, Hunter senses the ship arriving. When the Partisans still refuse to deactivate the shield, the three clones draw their blasters. They stun several Partisans and dodge their return fire. One Partisan locks himself in the control room and fuses the door shut. Wrecker attempts to break through the metal door as Hunter and Echo defend him from more Partisans.

Crosshair's visibility improves as he nears the end of the belt, but an asteroid rams into the ship, breaking off a wing and compromising the engine. As Crosshair struggles to regain control over the ship, he sees the ray shield shimmering over Eiloh.

Wrecker breaks through the door and Echo rushes to disable the shield. Hunter warns the Partisans to keep back as the barrier shuts off. Inside the ship, Crosshair prepares to make a crash landing. Emerie holds onto Tech as his seizure dissipates, bracing him for the impact. As they nosedive to the surface, Crosshair pulls up on the controls. The ship right itself and skids across the sand, tearing up the ground until it comes to a halt.

Having learned of the scuffle on the airfield, Saw arrives with the other Partisans. The Regs gather outside to discover the cause of the commotion. Everyone draws their blasters, waiting to see who will emerge from the ship. Emerie climbs out of the shuttle first, shaken but unharmed. She implores them not to shoot. Then, Crosshair emerges with Tech in his arms.

Hunter, Wrecker, and Echo push through the crowd to reach their brothers. Neither Crosshair nor Tech sustained any major injuries from the crash, but the clones are distraught to see Tech's abused frame. Emerie announces that Tech is in critical condition and requires medical treatment. Palmer keeps her weapon trained on the intruders, but the other Partisans glance at Saw. He nods toward the medical building. Emerie and the Bad Batch follow behind Crosshair as he carries Tech inside.

On Eriadu, Wilhuff Tarkin is in a meeting with other Imperial officers. As they review footage of the riots on Coruscant, Tarkin states that resistance to the Empire cannot be tolerated. One officer suggests they use lethal force on the protestors, but another says this would aggravate the situation. Tarkin agrees. At this early stage of the Empire's rule, they must retain the citizens' support until they have firmly established their authority. Another officer claims they cannot sway public opinion on Coruscant as long as influential senators such as Bail Organa and Riyo Chuchi protest their reforms. In particular, he fears Chuchi may inspire rebellion among the clones. Of all the officers assembled, Admiral Coburn says the least. He sits quietly as the others discuss what to do about Coruscant.

The door to the meeting room slides open. Many of the officers gape as Hemlock strides into the room. Several Imperial guards stand behind Hemlock. They have their blasters aimed at him but are hesitant to shoot this high-ranking Imperial. While the other officers recover from their surprise, Tarkin simply raises an eyebrow. He remarks that Hemlock supposedly perished on Mount Tantiss.

Hemlock pleasantly explains he was off-world during the attack on Tantiss. He apologizes for not contacting them sooner but assures them he had his reasons. Over the past several weeks, he has set aside his official responsibilities to pursue an initiative that will secure the future of the Renaissance Project. Hemlock's brazen words stand in sharp contrast to his respectful tone, and many officers stare at him in disbelief. Tarkin, however, shows little emotion. He declares that as head of the Advanced Science Division, Hemlock is personally responsible for the fall of Mount Tantiss. He orders the guards to arrest him. A soft smile tugs at Hemlock's lips as the guards lead him away.

After the meeting adjourns, Coburn withdraws into an empty room. He whispers into his comlink that Hemlock is alive. The Empire is reluctant to harm Hemlock since he is so important, and Coburn fears what the doctor could accomplish if he is set free. Coburn's contact, who is apparently a clone named Gunner, instructs Coburn to keep him updated. They sign off with "Long live the Republic."

Back on Eiloh, the Bad Batch directs Crosshair and Emerie to a small room in the makeshift infirmary. Crosshair lays Tech on a table while Emerie prepares an IV. Sensing several Partisans approaching, Hunter slips Emerie a comlink and a spare vibroblade. She conceals both in her lab coat pocket. When Saw enters with the Partisans, he instructs his men to keep watch over Emerie while she treats Tech.

The Partisans escort the other members of the Bad Batch outside. As Saw confiscates their weapons, Hunter notices the asteroid storm has passed its zenith and the sky is clearing. Partisans handcuff Crosshair and grip his shoulders. As the uneasy Regs assemble to watch the proceedings, Saw questions the Bad Batch's motives.

Hunter asserts that they did not disobey Saw's orders, as the Partisans manning the control room refused to even let them speak with Saw. He adds that none of the Partisans they stunned are hurt. They did what they had to do to save their brothers.

Saw says that one of their brothers is a known Imperial, as is the woman they let into camp. He reveals that Crosshair gunned down the refugees that the Partisans were protecting on Onderon. Although he's unsettled by the news, Wrecker reminds Saw that an inhibitor chip was controlling Crosshair. He has removed his chip since then and would never repeat these actions.

Saw asks Crosshair if he regrets what he did on Onderon. Bitterly regarding the man responsible for Tech's capture, Crosshair replies that if it brought Saw pain, he would do it all over again. A stone-faced Saw orders the Partisans to secure Crosshair in one of the barracks.

Before the Partisans can obey, they look up to see Rex's ship returning. After the ship lands, Rex and Omega descend the gangplank. Omega still looks miserable and she meets Hunter's eyes guiltily. Her face lights up as she spots Crosshair. Omega runs to Crosshair and embraces him. She anxiously asks if Tech is alive. Crosshair replies that he is. Omega is desperate to see Tech, but guards lead Crosshair away and order the clones back to their quarters.

Hunter, Wrecker, and Echo return to the men's side of camp. Wrecker is furious with the Partisans and says they should retrieve the other squad members and leave. Echo counters that they cannot leave the Regs behind. Instead, they should unite with the Regs, overthrow the Partisans, and take over the base. The two argue, but Hunter intercedes. He reminds them that they cannot risk upsetting the Partisans when Tech is in their care. Once Tech's condition improves, they can decide whether to fight or escape.

Back on Eriadu, guards lock Hemlock in a small room. They stand over him as Tarkin enters with an interrogation droid. At Tarkin's command, the droid injects Hemlock with truth serum. Hemlock remains relaxed, not even flinching as the serum enters his veins. Tarkin orders Hemlock to answer for the defeat on Mount Tantiss.

Smoothing his uniform, Hemlock claims the fall of Tantiss was not a defeat. Nala Se is alive, and the Zillo Beast remains in stasis deep below the mountain's bunker. He adds that Nala Se is less necessary now, as she completed most of her work on Tantiss. Furthermore, their research remains secure, and the remainder of the Advanced Science Division has already resumed their work off-world. All they lost was a location. Hemlock concludes that his job was to preserve the Division's research, which he did. As leader of Weyland's blockade, Admiral Coburn's job was to maintain security, which he did not.

Hemlock surmises that Tarkin already knows he is not responsible for Tantiss's fall. Tarkin concedes this, but says Hemlock is the face of the Division. He must serve as an example. Why should the Empire hesitate to punish him? Hemlock replies, "Because I can get you Coruscant."

Back on Eiloh, Omega sits alone on her bunk in the women's quarters, hugging Lula. Palmer steps inside to repair her blaster. Noticing Omega's expression, she asks if she's worried about the injured clone. Omega says his name is Tech, and he's her brother. She has never been able to accept his death, and now that she finally has a bit of hope, she's terrified of losing it. Palmer's face hardens as she says she understands.

Sitting beside Omega, Palmer shares that she lost her brother during the Clone Wars, along with the rest of her family. A battle between the Republic and Separatists spilled over into her town. She was one of the few survivors. The experience taught her that the galaxy would be better off without governments and political factions. Ever since then, she has fought to make her vision a reality. The more enemies she kills, the more she avenges her family's death. While Omega has compassion for Palmer, she also looks disturbed by her words.

Back in the men's side of camp, Echo paces outside the medical building. He is too anxious to sit around doing nothing, so he goes into the Marauder to fix the console. As he moves aside the Batch's belongings, he discovers the holoprojector that Hunter took from the ISB. Switching it on, he sees the hologram of the Rowan Squad.

We return to Eriadu, where Coburn once again speaks into his comlink. He tells Gunner where Tarkin has imprisoned Hemlock. Gunner believes he can shut down the building's security and provide Coburn with a chance to kill Hemlock. They decide to enact their plan at 0300, an hour before the guard change. After Coburn destroys Hemlock, Gunner will pick him up in his shuttle so they can escape.

At 0300, the door outside Hemlock's room unlocks. Coburn easily takes out the weary guards, then steps into the room. Hemlock is waiting for him. The doctor warns Coburn to think this through, but Coburn raises his blaster and fires. An invisible force field deflects the shot, which ricochets into Coburn's shoulder. Stormtroopers rush in to arrest Coburn as an alarm blares.

Meanwhile, Echo returns to his barracks and shows Hunter and Wrecker the holoprojector. Their reactions reveal that they know something Echo doesn't. When Echo presses them, Hunter admits they knew the Rowan Squad was in danger, but they couldn't warn them without risking their chance to save Omega. Echo agrees that finding Omega was their top priority, but he asks why Hunter didn't tell him about this. Wrecker, who is still stressed from the day's events, replies that Echo would have wasted time attempting to find both Omega and the Rowan Squad. They would have lost everyone as a result. Wrecker adds that he cares about the Regs too, but they're not like family. Hunter glares at Wrecker, who realizes what he has unintentionally implied.

A knock interrupts the tension. Hunter opens the door to see Omega standing outside. She apologizes for leaving Eiloh without his permission. She thought she was doing the right thing, but she now recognizes that she should have listened to him. Glancing back at his squad, Hunter says Omega doesn't have to apologize. However, she should return to her barracks before the Partisans realize she broke curfew.

Hunter closes the door and turns back to his squad. In a detached tone, Echo says he knows Hunter and Wrecker did what they thought was right. Arguing would be pointless. The three agree that right now, they need to focus on keeping everyone alive.

Back on Eriadu, Hemlock speaks privately to Tarkin. He says he is willing to accept punishment for his actions if Tarkin deems it appropriate. However, if Tarkin kills him, he loses his best chance of securing Coruscant. Tarkin quietly considers this.

We hear a blaster shot, then cut to see Coburn drop to the ground. Hemlock holds a blaster, having fired the shot. Tarkin stands by Hemlock's side. He says Hemlock has until the end of the month to deliver on his promise if he wants to remain standing.
