Yay, it's another interlude!

Now to meet the team. Yes, I know that I probably should have put this one as the very first post (or the first interlude), but this is the order that I wrote them, so I went with that. And don't worry, I will post an interlude about her first interaction with Nate, but that may not be until I get to Season 2.

Just to note, I will be using direct word quotes from the episode. A big thanks to the Leverage, Seriously, website, who has posted the pretty accurate transcripts from the entire original series. You can find it at .net

This takes place near the beginning of Season 1, Episode 2: The Homecoming Job.

The legalities: I do not own any of the Leverage franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au. Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Hope you enjoy!

"I think that you're going to like them."

Prudence "Pru" Beck rolled her eyes as she continued to go through the file folders that she had put on her desk earlier. They were filled with potential clients that she had started to compile after she had met the mastermind of Leverage Consulting and Associates (or Leverage, Inc, as she liked to call the "firm"), Nathan Ford. Not that he'd found a client in there as of yet. (because he hadn't looked), but that wasn't important at the moment.

Now, it was the time to finally meet the rest of the team. Pru already knew Alec Hardison (he was the one who gave her this job, after all), the hacker, who was leaning back against her desk in almost the same was that he had when he had greeted her here less than a week before. Since then, he hadn't shut up about the rest of the team. "Alec, you've been saying that since I first got here."

"You will though! Let me know when they get here." With that, he walked back to gather some things for when the team got to the office.

Pru just rolled her eyes again as she continued separating the files into piles. After a few minutes, she heard the sound of a key in the lock and smirked, grabbing her cell and shooting a text off to Alec to let him know and making a split-second decision to have some fun with them in the process. When the door opened, she put on her best customer service persona and smiled at the three people who walked in. "Welcome to Leverage Consulting and Associates. How may we assist you today?"

"Welcome to what now?" That came from the brunette woman with a British accent, making that Sophie Deveraux, the grifter, who had a rather bewildered look on her face. That meant that the blonde woman who was looking around intently was Parker, the master thief, and it was no stretch of the imagination that the final member of their team was the hitter (or retrieval specialist), Eliot Spencer. He seemed to just be taking in the surroundings.

Pru let the mischief shine a bit more in her eyes as her smile widened. "Leverage Consulting and Associated. Our company was founded in 1913 by the great Harlan Leverage the Third, whose portrait you will find on your left." They all turned to see the portrait that Pru had already dubbed "Old Nate." Before any of them could say anything, she continued, "I am the office manager, Prudence Beck. Oh, and I see that Alec had decided to grace us with his presence finally."

"Yeah, yeah, Pru. I see you've already introduced them to Harlan?"

Sophie looked over at him. "I'm sorry. Nate is going to kill you."

Eliot gave him a look as well. "Did you paint that?"

"I'm gifted."

"That's weird."

Pru chuckled, causing the team to look over at her again. "Alright, Alec, why don't you take them through the cover story." She checked her watch. "Nathan said that he'd be back shortly, so best to get them prepped."

"Alright, see you in there?"

"I wasn't sure that I was being allowed to join you guys." At Alec's frown, she rolled her eyes. "Don't ask. And I'll meet you there."

"Good, five minutes."

"Sounds like a plan." She watched the team walk away and smiled. This was going to be an interesting endeavor to say the least.
