Tremble! The Witch of Dragons is Here! (Re:Zero - Jeanne D'Arc Alter SI Chapter 2)

Reinhard sighed. His posture relaxed as it seems like he bearings back once more.

"Miss, I was simply going to reprimand you for excessive force, but now I seriously have some questions for you." He said, still holding my arms.

Huh. Something I just noticed, the three stooges are on the ground looking confused, while being handcuffed. Reinhard handcuffed them in the span of a moment it took him to reach me. Sasuga OP-sama.

"I have no answers." Wait, no, being uselessly stubborn would look bad on my record. Not that I'm gonna let myself get arrested. "I have some answers. Probably."

"You." Emilia spoke up, walking up to me with a fierce determined look. Wait, isn't she suppose to be docile and dere? Fuck, what was Emilia's character like again? "You knew me, are you also with that thief that stole my important thing?"

"'Important thing'?" Reinhard asked. "Good evening, Lady Emilia. Could you please tell me what was stolen?"

"Yeah, you should simply say what was stolen for you. Saying it like that can be very misleading." I added.

"Eh? I mean, right, thank you." Serious face Emilia was gone for one that looks more adorable and confused. Okay, now she's more headcanon accurate to me. Although maybe I'm wrong. "What do you mean by something 'misleading'?" She asked me with cute pouty glare.

"Never mind that!" A cute squeakish voice spoke, before a flying gray furred magic cat appeared. Puck enters the scene. "I recognize most of what's going on, Lia. There are unimportant nameless thugs. And that's a Knight. That sword and red hair. You're the current Sword Saint, ain't ya kid?" Puck spoke.

"I'm honored to be recognized by a Great Spirit. I'm Reinhard van Astrea." Reinhard gave a respectful nod.

"Come on, man. We have names." One of the A, B, C Thugs whined.

"The only one suspicious here is you." Puck pointed at me with his adorable arm. And the temperature went down around me.

"P-Puck," Emilia said alarmed at the sudden threating.

"Lord Puck, please, there's no need for violence." Reinhard said next to me, even though he wasn't affected somehow.

As for me, I... felt fine?

Huh, I'm not actually all that bothered by the cold weather. It's not even sub zero. Guess that's a Servant constitution for you.

"You're the most suspicious one here. You even knew Lia would come through here. So you're working with that thief?" Puck demanded.

"Who? Felt? No, I'm not working with her. I do know where she is, so I can lead you to her." I nodded confidently.

"Miss," Reinhard was giving me an exasperated smile. "You know the thief by name... you do realize that's pretty condemning, right?"

"Eh?" My eyes widened. "Wait, it is?!"

"Yes, very much so." Emilia said firmly, as she, Puck and Reinhard nodded.

"Lady, you're one lousy thief." Said Thug B from the ground.

"Shut it, Half-Pint Bowl Cut." I bit back.

The thug kid looked like my words stabbing him multiple times.

"More importantly," Puck said menacingly. Probably because he noticed the cold air was doing nothing to me. "That last bit you said. That was odd 'not suppose to know that yet'?" Shit, shit, shit, they're gonna ask how I know the future! How do I explain that? "Were you sent to spy on Lia!?" The spirit growled with narrowed eyes.

Oh! That's his conclusion?

"You're not thinking I know the future. Phew." I sighed in relief. "Yeah, thinking I'm a spy makes much more sense-NO, WAIT, I'M NOT A SPY!" I cried out! My innocence is in jeopardy. I don't wanna go to jail and be tortured!

"Hm?" Emilia tilted her head to the side cutely, showing confusion.

"You..." Puck looked at me with his jaw half opened.

"..." I can just imagine a sweatdrop next to Reinhard's face. "Miss," he sighed. "First, what is your name?" He let go of my arm. Huh, I kinda forgot that he was holding it.

Shit. Name.

Can't exactly introduce myself with my own name, as it's a dude's name. That would just lead to more questions.

Should I introduce myself as 'Jeanne'?

...That feels wrong somehow. Like playing second fiddle to someone else.

Maybe something else that starts with a 'J'?

James? No!

Jeaann...iqua? What the hell am I even trying to think? No.

Jacqueline? Hmm, feels... off. Too exotic? Too French maybe? Wait, I'm suppose to be French now.

"Miss...?" Reinhard asked with that same exasperated tone.

"Are you seriously thinking that hard about your name? You know we can tell if you lie, right?" Puck said, sounding exasperated like Reinhard.

"Shush! Character introductions are some of the most important moment, when someone enters the story. Give me a bit!" I cried out without thinking while deep in thought.

I wracked my mind, but I can't think of anything, and I don't have Google to looks up names.

Then the face of the awesome encyclopedia reality-warper from The Good Place came to mind.

Fuck it.

"Janet." I said with a proud nod. "Janet d'Arc, at your service." I said with a cool grin.

[Updating Player Name - Player Name Selected: Janet d'Arc]

""Lie."" Reinhard and Puck deadpanned, crashing my cool aura.

"Shut up! Look, it's my name now, so that's what you're getting. It's not like there are papers to prove that's not who I am, so suck it!" I frowned. Why are they ruining my awesome intro?

"You more or less implied that it's not." Reinhard looked that he was considering facepalming.

"Honestly, your emotions are all over the place. You panic at stupid times, while being calm at moments you're not suppose to be calm in, like when I thought you were a spy." Puck did facepalm.

"She's not?" Emilia asked.

"No, now I'm sure of it." Puck looked back to me with an apathetic look. "What she is... is an idiot."

"Hey!" I shouted.

"Lord Puck, that maybe too harsh." Reinhard argued in my corner.

"Meh, doesn't matter." Puck waved him off.

"It matters to me!" I called out. And Emilia was giving me a pitying look. Seriously, I'm gonna cry here.

"What's important is, how did you know about my insignia being stolen? And where is it now?" Emilia decided to enter the conversation.

"The short blonde girl, Felt is the one who stole it, and she should be in the slums now heading to Old Man Rom's hut to steal it off to the crazy assassin bitch who ordered it to be stolen." I cross my arms. "But after this treatment, what if I don't feel like telling you... wait." I blinked a few times. Did I leave some information to hold over them or did I lay everything out?

"Puck... It's wrong to call people 'idiots', right?" Emilia asked sincerely.

"Hey, what are you implying?" I called out.

Puck sighed. "There are many types of people in the world, Lia."

"I'd like to add that I don't think Miss Janet is that suspicious anymore. She's been pretty sincere from when I first saw her so far." Reinhard added. ...Is that a compliment or not?

"Then that bit about knowing the future...?" Emilia asked toward me.

"She probably tried to sound cool or something." Puck shook his head.

"I'm not trying to sound cool, I am cool!" I declared.

"So, I suppose all that's left is to find Miss Felt and return Lady Emilia's insignia. Although that alarming information you just added. An assassin is the one who ordered the theft?" Reinhard said, as the mood turned serious, given the look on his, Puck and Emilia's face.

"Yeah, I think it was the hooker, Elsa or something. Not the one from Frozen." I explained, although they looked confused for some reason. "Hey you, you know where Old Man Rom's house is?" I asked one of the Thugs.

"Um, yeah everyone from the Slums knows where it is." Said Thug A with some hesitation.

"Cool, you'll lead us then." I said and before anyone could react I moved.

It was like turning the car's gear shift up. The world just seemed slower, while I was moving faster.

I reached Thug A's side and threw him on my shoulder like a sack of potatoes. I made sure to be gentle when I was handling the thug, as he's a squishy mortal. Also he was pretty thin, so I was worried he might break or something.

Reinhard, Puck and Emilia looked at me shocked at my sudden disappearance and reappearance.

"Wait, what? How did you-? Put me down!" Thug A cried out.

"And here. We. Go!" I jumped.

Against the gear shifted up, but for muscles rather than movement. The ground cracked under my feet and I was launched upward into the sky.

My target was the roofs of the buildings next to us. I flew much higher.

I looked back to see Reinhard and Emilia covering their faces from the wind blowing hard from my movement.

The ground and buildings were quickly becoming smaller. I think I jumped too hard. Oops.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! TOO HIGH! TOO HIGH! MAMA!" And Thug A's screaming weren't helping.

"Calm down! Be helpful and point in the direction of the slums!" I cried out.

"We're gonna fall and die, what does it matter!?" He shouted.

"We're not gonna fall." I said as my jumped reached it's apex and we began to fall. I easily summoned my flames under my foot to act as thrusters and our fall slowed down.

"W-Wait, you can fly?" Thug A asked, astonished.

"Meh, more like fall with style. Either way, now where do we gooooo..." I tried to stay calm, but it turns out flying like Iron Man wasn't as easy as it looked.

Just the smallest movement of my feet ended up with us not floating directly down. Which meant the force of the flames ended up moving me around, and as I tried to rebalance myself I ended up moving away from where I wanted to be.

"YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO FLY! AAAAAAAAAAH!" Thug A was being unhelpful again.

"Shit, shit, shitshitshitshitshiiiiiiiiit-" I may have lost my cool a bit.

Also I was now moving in crazy directions trying not to fall and hit the ground.

Maybe I should have learned how to use my abilities first.

Back on the ground the two Thugs, Emilia, Puck and Reinhard were watching with the wide eyes of people watching a train wreck that they can't look away from.

"Good god, there's another one." Puck whispered in mild distress.

"Puck, we have to help them!" Emilia called out.

"What is it, Lord Puck?" Reinhard asked, as he prepared to jump up and grab Janet and the other thug.

"A Great Idiot." Puck said, as he was reminded of a Demon Beast from so long ago, that was now guarding a tower.
